Note: It's a little hard to write this story, given how there are multiple factions it will focus on. However, I can manage, given how I write and draw crossovers all the time. Before we move on, I want to say something to two reviewers.
Ron: Yeah, despite all the character development he underwent, I wouldn't, for the most part, trust Cyril Sneer. He might have to prove that he can keep a promise for Fox, Wolf and Krystal.
EmpressLoveSiren23: Thanks for your compliments. Stay tuned for the next chapter.
Now that I have said that, it's time for chapter seven.
Chapter 7: Promise and a Rescue Plan
Once Wolf entered the Raccoondominium with Cyril, the Raccoons, Fox and Krystal looked at the aardvark with caution. Cedric followed the two in, being surprised by the others' distrustful eyes.
"Well, good afternoon, everyone!" Cyril greeted.
"Cyril Sneer?!" Bert asked.
"What are you doing here?" Melissa asked.
"I was just walking through, minding my own business, before I overheard this guy talking!" Cyril said, gesturing to Wolf. "So, like the curious millionaire that I am, I decided to speak with him! Who knew that I would meet aliens that came from another star system in the future?!"
Fox and Krystal looked at Wolf, then back to themselves. The two had heard about Cyril Sneer from the Raccoon family and Cedric, so they knew who he was. However, they were distrustful of him. Yesterday, Bert and Melissa wasted no time in telling them about the environmentally harmful crusades Cyril had partaken in. As a rebuttal, Fox and Krystal were even told that the millionaire aardvark was becoming more conscious and compassionate about the environment, as he was part of a crusade to arrest another millionaire, Milton Midas, after he had partaken in the poisoning of a fishing hole. Despite all of that, Krystal felt darkness in Cyril.
Fox, I don't trust this "Cyril Sneer" that dad and Cedric have brought to the Raccoondominium. Krystal gave Fox a telepathic thought.
Yeah, given the stuff he did before his conscience grew stronger, I wouldn't trust him either. Fox responded in his thoughts.
Dad's definitely told him about us, I sensed that they were talking earlier. The cobalt vixen telepathically stated. He and Cedric even told Cyril that he has to keep our presence a secret.
I hope that Mr. Sneer keeps that promise. The orange tod responded. We might as well speak with him, we're probably making the others worried.
"What's wrong, guys?" Bert asked.
"Nothing, Bert," Fox spoke, "we just need to speak with Mr. Sneer."
"Speak with me?" Cyril spoke. "Well, I was wondering when the two of you would say something to me!"
"Can we have this conversation in private, Mr. Sneer?" Krystal asked.
"I don't see why we couldn't." The aardvark stated. "Hell, I know somewhere we can go for our little conversation!"
"We'll follow you there." Wolf said.
"Great!" The millionaire said as he walked out of the door, with Fox and Krystal following him.
"Be careful out there, guys!" Melissa warned.
"We will!" Fox shouted back.
Wolf let out a sigh, doing some stretches before following Fox, Krystal and Cyril down the road. After a few minutes of walking, the four came across a café.
"What is that place?" Fox asked.
"The Blue Spruce Café, alien visitors!" Cyril happily said as he went over to the door, with Fox, Krystal and Wolf following him.
Upon opening the door, Cyril let Krystal in before Fox and Wolf. The three Lylatians sat at a table, waiting for the aardvark millionaire to join them. As they waited, Krystal felt comfortable in her surroundings, as did Fox. Wolf, on the other hand, felt bored.
The café Panther often visits looks more impressive than this one. Wolf thought to himself.
Meanwhile, Cyril went up to Schaefer, who was curious about the three who came in with the aardvark.
"What's up, Schaefer?" Cyril asked.
"I've never seen those three in the Evergreen Forest before, who are they?" Schaefer asked.
"They're tourists from New York who are trying out new technology." The aardvark lied. "They're visiting the Evergreen Forest for some peace and quiet."
Schaefer was silent for a moment, having the feeling that Cyril was lying. However, he spoke immediately after.
"I'll get you guys some coffee."
"Great!" Cyril said as he went over to the table Fox, Wolf and Krystal were at.
"He's the owner?" Fox asked.
"Yeah," Cyril spoke, "he is. What? Did you expect the owner to be some muscular man?"
"I was just asking." The orange tod stated.
"Anyway, what was it you wanted to speak to me about?" The aardvark asked.
"Mr. Sneer," Krystal spoke, "you can keep secrets, am I right?"
"Of course I can!" The millionaire laughed. "You'd have to bribe me to spill the beans about something!"
"Good," Wolf said, "then we're right to trust you with not revealing our presence to anyone who would be willing to take us away for experiments."
"If someone from Area 51 hasn't noticed you three here yet, then no one will." Cyril stated. "Besides, it's a little bizarre for an Area 51 agent to be in the Evergreen Forest in the first place."
"That might be true," Krystal said, "but we've taken down cameras that Melissa said weren't there before."
Schaefer came to the table with a coffee pot and four cups. Once he arrived, Fox took the coffee pot from his hands and poured the coffee into the cups.
"Thanks." Fox said.
"I'll be back with some cream and sugar." Schaefer said.
Once Schaefer left the table, Fox, Wolf, Krystal and Cyril continued their conversation.
"Cameras in the Evergreen Forest? That's ridiculous!" Cyril chuckled.
"It's the truth, see?" Krystal said as she put a destroyed camera on the table.
"We took down the ones we saw." Wolf said. "I feel like someone read too much of George Orwell's 1984 when they bought the cameras and set them up. Or, maybe some kid who's lacking in gray matter set them up to spy on the women in the Evergreen Forest."
"Whatever the reason, it's important to check and see if there's more of them." Fox stated.
Cyril looked at the camera, his face having a puzzled expression on it. He was so focused on the camera, he didn't notice Schaefer setting a basket full of sugar packets and a cream container. After a minute, the aardvark handed the busted camera back to Krystal.
"So, what do you think?" The cobalt vixen asked.
"I feel like Melissa is right when she says these cameras weren't where you found them before." Cyril stated. "All three of you need to be more cautious around the Evergreen Forest. If there are more of these cameras, you need to get a group together to mislead whoever they belong to."
"We've got Krystal for extra caution," Fox said, "she's a telepath."
"A telepath?" The aardvark asked.
"Yes," Krystal said, "I can detect thoughts, sense strange signals, communicate with others with my mind and look into dreams. I feel massive amounts of empathy to those I hold dearest, and anger towards those who are irredeemable."
"Then you would be furious if you met Milton Midas!" The millionaire stated.
"The guy who ruined that fishing hole? You bet!" The cobalt vixen said.
"So," Wolf spoke, "do we have your word on this, Mr. Sneer?"
"I won't reveal you three to anyone suspicious, you have my word!" Cyril stated. "If I have to bribe an undercover agent to leave the Evergreen Forest, I will!"
"Thank you, sir." Krystal said.
"No problem, kiddo." The aardvark said.
The four then spent the remainder of the afternoon at the Blue Spruce Café, drinking their coffee and chatting. In addition to that, they ate lunch. After that, Fox, Wolf and Krystal went back to the Raccoondominium. While walking back, they were cautious, with Krystal using her telepathy to detect any hidden cameras. Luckily, they found none, so they were in the clear.
Back on Corneria, General Pepper was overlooking the construction of a machine. Various workers were putting it together and doing electrical work. While doing so, the workers spoke with each other and did some tests. As he watched the construction, Pepper didn't notice Steve walking near him.
"So," Steve spoke, "how far are we on this thing?"
"The portal is almost complete," Pepper stated, "the first test will take place tomorrow."
"Is that so?" The red wolf asked.
"Yes, is there something you want to share with me, Steve?" The hound dog asked.
"The portal will spawn on Sauria in a few days." The soldier said.
"It will?" The General spoke. "That's great news!"
"You bet it is. If we don't get to use that portal, we have the machine to travel to where McCloud, Bodimead and O'Donnell are at."
All of a sudden, a blue light began to glow in the middle of the machine. The light got bigger and spread, creating a large portal. General Pepper and Steve watched with awe, surprised that the invention was actually working.
"The portal has been activated, sir!" Bill said as he walked up to them.
"Well, tell the workers to turn it off for now!" Pepper stated. "We'll test it out tomorrow and hope that our soldiers aren't instantly killed in the process! If it doesn't work, then we'll use the portal when it spawns on Sauria! If it does work, then we'll use it as back up, traveling through it in order to save Fox McCloud, Krystal Bodimead and, as much as I don't want to say his name, Wolf O'Donnell!"
Note: Welp, General Pepper's got his own portal as back up in case the portal doesn't work. Also, Cyril has given his word about not spoiling Fox, Wolf and Krystal's whereabouts in the Evergreen Forest to anyone suspicious. Question is: Will his promise last? Also, will the replacement portal be enough to save three of our favorite Lylatians? Until next time guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
