Note: As I'm writing this story, I'm also working on a Fara x Sabre story, alongside my other stories. Stay tuned for when I finally release it. Before we officially begin the chapter, I want to say something to three reviewers.

EmpressLoveSiren23: Thanks for your review. I hope that you're doing well, and that you're ready for the next chapter.

Ron: Yeah, it would've been an interesting idea for The Raccoons to have characters who are foreigners from different countries, including countries from Africa or Southeast Asia. That being said, the show would've been more diverse, even though Nicole is French. Anyway, I hope that you like this chapter.

The White Wolf named Alex: Thanks for your review. Also, I put in the 1984 reference to show that the Lylat System might have literature from Earth. Stay tuned.

Alright, now that I've said that, it's time for chapter eight.

Chapter 8: The Infamous Eric Bolan

A day after their talk with Cyril Sneer, Fox, Wolf and Krystal found themselves speaking with Melissa. They were in the copy room for the Evergreen Standard, with Fox reading through one of the copies. As for Krystal, she was reading the scanning device, checking for when the portal would spawn next. Wolf was just sitting near Melissa, writing on a map of the Evergreen Forest that Bentley had given him. The markings he put on the map indicated the cameras that were taken down and places that he and Krystal hadn't checked.

"Welp, we've pretty much cleared the forest of those weird cameras." Wolf stated. "But, there's a location or two that we haven't checked. We can check those locations when we get done here."

"And I've found some new info on the portal!" Krystal said.

"Really?" Fox asked. "When will it spawn?"

"In two days," the cobalt vixen answered, "but it won't spawn in the Evergreen Forest."

"Where will the portal be opening at?" Wolf asked.

"In Uruguay." She stated.

"That doesn't sound so bad, guys." Melissa said. "After all, you need the portal to get home."

"But we don't have money for a plane ride," Krystal said, "and I doubt that those on the plane with us will be as tolerant of Lylatians as those in the Evergreen Forest."

"We can give you money for a flight to Uruguay." Melissa offered.

"No need, Melissa." Fox said.

Wolf and Krystal looked at Fox as soon as he said that.

"You better be joking, Pup." Wolf spoke. "I don't plan on missing an opportunity to head back to the Lylat System, even if I could become the leader of my own little team in the Evergreen Forest."

"Given what Krystal said, it would be better for us to wait for our allies to come through the portal when it opens back up." Fox stated. "If they're unable to reach the portal when they come to get us, they can still send information to the Cornerian Army. Chances are, General Pepper might have built a backup portal."

"The people in your time must be really prepared." Melissa said.

"Each planet in the Lylat System is being more cautious since the Aparoid invasion was stopped." Krystal stated. "They've even cleared out remnants of the Aparoid race, going so far as to throw destroyed nests into Solar."

Ralph came into the copy room with a satchel.

"What's going on, guys?" He asked.

"We're just discussing current events." Fox said.

"Nothing's wrong with that, is it?" Wolf asked.

"Nope," Ralph said, "I was just coming over to check on you guys."

"We're doing well, Ralph." Krystal said.

"Do any of you want to go hiking with me?" He asked.

"I'll go!" Fox said.

"It's nice to get some fresh air." Melissa stated.

Fox and Melissa followed Ralph out of the copy room, leaving Wolf and Krystal by themselves.

Meanwhile, an unknown man was sitting alone at his desk. The surveillance screens had shown nothing but static, due to the cameras being destroyed and taken down. In addition to that, the footage he had collected on Fox, Wolf and Krystal wasn't good enough for him to use. While the footage in color, the cameras he used weren't able to record sound. After a minute of checking the screens, the man let out a sigh.

"Embarrassing," he said to himself, "the footage can't be used for anything. It's enough, but someone will think that the video was edited. It looks like I'll have to go looking for those aliens myself."

A knock came on the door.

"Mr. Bolan, are you in there?" Someone asked.

"I'm here, Clive, but I won't be for long." Mr. Bolan answered. "In fact, I'm going to go looking for the aliens who made their way to the Evergreen Forest."

"Can I come?" The person asked.

"I'm going by myself." He stated. "However, by sheer luck, I might be able to snag our extraterrestrial friends. Wish me luck!"

Back in the Evergreen Forest, Lisa and Bentley were walking through. While doing so, they saw a lynx standing near a tree. He was wearing a denim jacket, a red t-shirt, black dress pants and boots. His eyes were a dark green shade, almost like they were emeralds in a dark room.

"Good afternoon, children!" He greeted.

Lisa and Bentley kept on walking. Something about the lynx didn't feel right, they both could see it.

"Come now," the feline spoke, "aren't either of you going to say 'hello'?"

"We don't know you, sir." Bentley said.

"Well then," the older man said, "I might as well introduce myself. I, kids, am Eric Bolan."

"Eric Bolan?" Lisa asked. "Weren't you the guy who got arrested for attempted murder and kidnapping?"

"That's in the past, kiddo." Bolan stated. "Now, I'm here to look for something strange."

"Something strange?" Bentley asked. "Like what?"

"Do either of you believe in aliens?" The lynx asked.

Lisa and Bentley shook their heads.

"Well, I believe that there might be aliens in the Evergreen Forest." The older male said. "Do you know anywhere that they might be hiding at?"

"No." Bentley lied.

"We wouldn't know where aliens would be hiding, Mr. Bolan." Lisa stated.

"Well, in that case, I'll keep searching." Bolan said as he began to walk away. "Have a nice day, you two!"

"Have a nice day!" Lisa responded.

Once Bolan was out of sight, Bentley and Lisa continued walking down the road.

"I don't trust that guy, he's weird." Bentley said.

"Just ignore him," Lisa said, "let's head to the Raccoondominium."

"Yeah, that'll take our minds off Bolan." The younger raccoon stated.

Back in the copy room, Wolf and Krystal had seen the conversation Bentley and Lisa had with Bolan. They remained hidden so that no one would see them, but Krystal could detect their thoughts with her telepathy.

"Anything interesting?" Wolf asked.

"The man who they were talking to is named Eric Bolan." Krystal said. "He's been in jail before, and now he's an alien hunter. Those cameras belonged to him, alright, and he was probably on the search for us!"

"Those kids had better not told him about us." The one-eyed lupine said.

"Don't worry," the cobalt vixen stated, "Lisa and Bentley lied to him. We're in the clear, but Fox needs to be on the lookout for Bolan. I highly doubt that he's working alone."

"If that's so, we can take them on." The older male told his illegitimate daughter. "Besides, I doubt that the Pup would let some alien hunter take him down."

Krystal only nodded and sat down, deciding to send a telepathic message to Fox.

Fox, if you can hear me, this is a warning: avoid a lynx named Eric Bolan! He's an alien hunter and he's going towards the mountains! If you see him, either stay out of sight or take him down!

Note: Let's just hope that Fox hears that telepathic warning. More importantly, let's hope that the other residents of the Evergreen Forest are able to prevent Fox, Wolf and Krystal from being captured by Bolan and his associates. Sorry if this chapter was kinda boring, but I introduced the villain and described what he looks like. Is that okay? Until next time guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
