Note: Alright, I admit, this story is kinda hard to write. However, it's just a simple crossover, which presents possibilities that can now happen in one universe now that it's meeting characters from another universe. I even put in the portal as a way of saying how the characters from separate franchises meet. Before we move on, I want to say something to two reviewers.

Ron: Star Raccoon? That almost sounds like a parody of Star Fox. It's a pretty funny concept, though.

The White Wolf named Alex: If Fox, Krystal and Wolf are unable to get the residents of the Evergreen Forest to be prepared for when Bolan and his men attack, Krystal's nightmare might come true. We can only hope that Bert and the others are able to do what three of our favorite Lylatians want them to do.

Now that I've done that, it's time for chapter ten.

Chapter 10: Teaching the Evergreen Forest

Back at the Great Fox, Falco and Slippy were talking with Katt. The pink cat had arrived moments before, being let in by Peppy. Now that she was with her allies, they spoke about the portal.

"Well," Katt spoke, "it's a wonderful idea to try and save our friends, but how do we know that the portal won't close up the moment we go to get them back?

"She's right, Falco," Slippy stated, "not only will the portal open up on Sauria tomorrow, but it will open up in an area that's far from where Fox, Krystal and Wolf are!"

"We've got Randorn on our side," Falco said, "he can tell when the portal will spawn and what planet it will open up on next. Unless he can find the planet it will spawn on next, we'll have to wait ten to twelve years for it to come back to Corneria."

"Well, we don't have to wait that long." Katt said.

"I know, we have Randorn." The pheasant stated.

"I didn't mean like that, hon." The pink cat told her boyfriend. "What I mean is that the General is building a machine that can travel through time and space in case we are unable to access the portal our friends went through. All we need is to get a recording of Fox, Krystal and Wolf speaking to us from their current location and send it to Pepper!"

"That's great!" Slippy said.

"What is?" Peppy said as he entered the room.

"General Pepper's building a portal that can replace the one that Fox, Krystal and Wolf went through." Falco told him. "But, we have to send him a recording of the other three speaking to us so that he can discover their location."

"Well, who's going to go through the portal we're waiting on?" The hare asked.

"I'll go through it." Falco said. "As much as I hate to admit it, alongside Fox and Krystal, Wolf is an important ally to us."

"I'll go, too." Katt said. "I won't let anyone else get trapped in a strange world, even if Pepper's got that portal working. Besides, they're our friends."

She then kissed Falco on the beak, which made him blush a little. After that, the remainder of Star Fox began to lay out their plans for tomorrow. The portal would be arriving on Sauria that day, and none of them wanted to miss it. Even if they did, the Cornerian Army would have a replacement ready for the next time. The team's luck was turning.

Meanwhile, in the Evergreen Forest, Fox had called Bert, Ralph, Melissa, Cedric, Bentley, Lisa and Cyril down to the clubhouse. The seven residents of the Evergreen Forest waited for the orange tod to speak, as he proudly stood in front of them. Wolf was on his left while Krystal was on his right, ready to help their fellow Lylatian speak.

"Everyone," Fox spoke, "you're probably wondering why Wolf, Krystal and I had you come here."

"Yeah, what's the big deal?" Bert asked.

"Fill us in on it, Mr. McCloud." Lisa stated.

"Well," Fox continued, "this might sound like a crazy idea. You might even say it's a stupid idea, but it will work if we do it right."

"Do what right?" Ralph asked.

"What's your idea, Fox?" Cedric asked.

"I'm planning to have all of you train with me in combat!" The orange tod stated.

Ralph didn't look amused by what Fox had told them. In fact, he looked mortified. As for the others, they gave Fox a quizzical expression.

"Combat training?" Melissa asked.

"What do we need it for?" Bentley asked.

"Remember that lynx you were talking to with your sister, Bentley?" Krystal asked.

"He's an alien hunter, isn't he?" The young raccoon asked.

"Yes," the cobalt vixen stated, "and we doubt that he's working alone! We're training all of you in combat so that all of us can fight him together!"

"And I know who the alien hunter you're talking about is: Eric Bolan!" Cyril spoke. "He was jailed for kidnapping and attempted murder, so, if we capture him while he's committing another crime, we can turn him in for a reward!"

"Well, we are planning to build traps as well, Mr. Sneer." Fox bluntly stated.

Bert opened up the door to the clubhouse, looking back at the others.

"When does the training start, guys?" He asked.

"It starts now!" Wolf said as he began to walk out of the clubhouse. "Break time is over, everyone, so come out here!"

Bert, Melissa, Cedric, Bentley, Lisa and Cyril followed Wolf outside, which left Ralph alone with Fox and Krystal. The two foxes approached the raccoon, who was still practically frozen by what Fox had said earlier.

"Are you okay, Ralph?" Fox asked.

"No," Ralph said, "I'm not. Guys, I can't train in combat, I'm not a mercenary like either of you!"

"Ralph, you don't have to be a mercenary to train in combat." Krystal kindly told him. "I'm not one to incite violence, but, if you don't train with us, not only will Fox, Wolf and I be captured, but you and your friends and family could spend a long time in jail."

"I know the risks, Krystal, but I don't think I would be much of a help to you guys." The raccoon said. "I want to train, but I fear that it wouldn't be able to help me save Melissa and Bert, let alone my entire family, from some creep who's after you guys."

"Well," Fox spoke, "you can also work on traps with us. Even if you want to train, you can still work on them."

"Sounds like a plan." The smaller male said.

"Ready to head outside?" Krystal asked.

Ralph hesitated for a moment and thought to himself. While he was, for the most part, opposed to violence, he knew that, if he didn't train and help out with building traps, his friends and family could either get captured or wind up dead. After a bit of thinking, Ralph looked at Fox and Krystal.

"I'm ready." He said. "And I won't let either of you down!"

Outside of the clubhouse, Bert and Bentley were trying to throw punches at Wolf. However, the one-eyed lupine was dodging each of their attacks. That was until he received a hard kick to the shin from Bentley. In response, Wolf grabbed the boy by the foot and held him upside down. Bentley struggled to get himself free, reaching for his caught foot and throwing punches at the lupine.

"Alright, Bentley, cease your attacks!" Wolf told him.

"Why? What are you doing with my foot?" Bentley asked.

"This is something that you need to keep in mind: the enemy might grab you and force you to share information that you intend on keeping secret!" The one-eyed lupine said. "Think of me as that enemy! Would you share information about your allies with me if I was the enemy?!"

"No, sir!" The raccoon stated. "I would be unclear: saying one thing while meaning something completely opposite!"

"Good boy!" The older male said as he put Bentley on the ground, turning his attention to Lisa. "Come here, you! If we're going to train, then you're going to train with Fox and me! As for Krystal, her ankle is not completely healed, so, it's better for you to train with either me, or the Pup!"

Before Lisa could approach Wolf for training purposes, they heard the door to the clubhouse open. Out from the building came Fox, Krystal and Ralph. The orange tod and the scarf-wearing raccoon held onto the cobalt vixen, who walked with a limp. Once they were near Wolf, they had the Cerinian sit on the ground, letting her rest her feet.

"About time you came out here!" Wolf spoke.

"We were having a little talk, but now we're ready." Fox said. "So, how has the training been going?"

"So far, I've only trained with Bert and Bentley." The one-eyed lupine stated. "While Bentley, more or less, knows what he is doing, Bert is a bit of a mess!"

"Hey!" Bert complained.

"Well, do you think that you can train with Ralph?" Fox asked.

"The journalist?" Wolf asked. "What's he going to do? Is he going to write a report on what we're doing for the standard?"

Ralph stepped up, looking Wolf in the eyes with confidence.

"I want to train in combat, O'Donnell!" He proudly stated. "However, I'm only going to say this once: I'm doing this not only for my family, friends and the Evergreen Forest, but to also protect you, your daughter and Fox from alien hunters!"

"Nice gesture," Wolf spoke, "but Fox, Krystal and I can protect ourselves. You just need to train with us, you ring-tailed journalist."

"And I will!" Ralph said.

"Fine then." The one-eyed lupine said. "But, consider this as a warning: I won't go easy on you!"

"I can take it." The smaller male said.

Melissa approached Ralph, looking concerned for her husband.

"Ralph, are you sure you want to do this?" She asked.

"I've got to, Melissa." Ralph answered. "If I want to prove I can help out during the attack from Bolan and his men, if it happens, I need to train and build traps."

"Be careful." Melissa warned.

"I will." He said.

After that, Wolf led Ralph down the road, going to an unknown destination. Once they were gone, Fox and Krystal looked at everyone else.

"Drop and give us thirty, everyone!" Fox told them.

"And don't cheat on the count!" Krystal added.

Bert, Melissa, Cedric, Bentley, Lisa and Cyril began to do push-ups as Fox and Krystal watched on, not stopping until they reached thirty. While they did so, a female aardvark came up to them. She had blue hair and blue eyes, and she was wearing a blue shirt, white shorts and sneakers.

"Hi everyone!" She greeted.

"Sophia, it's good to see you!" Melissa said.

"What brings you here, Sofa Girl?" Cyril asked.

"I was just wondering what was going on, Mr. Sneer!" Sophia stated. "It sure looks like fun!"

"We're doing combat training!" Bert said.

"It isn't as fun as it looks, though!" Cedric stated.

Fox, out of curiosity, walked near Sophia. Once they were eye-to-eye, the orange tod cleared his throat.

"Mind if we introduce ourselves to each other, miss?" He asked.

"Good idea," Sophia said, "my name is Sophia Tutu. And who are you?"

"Fox McCloud." Fox said as he shook her hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Sophia."

Sophia looked around, as if searching for something. While doing so, she found herself eye-to-eye with Krystal.

"Hi, I'm Krystal Bodimead." The cobalt vixen introduced herself. "I'm associated with Fox, before you ask."

"I'm just wondering where Ralph is." Sophia stated.

"He's training with Mr. O'Donnell!" Bentley said.

"Can I train with him, too?" The female aardvark asked.

"Sure, you can train in the art of making someone's head explode by the amount of times you do something stupid." Cyril snarked.

"Mr. Sneer!" Sophia crossed her arms.

"Just a joke, Sofa Girl!" The aardvark millionaire chuckled.

"You can train with us." Lisa offered.

"What are your strengths?" Fox asked as he approached Sophia.

Sophia looked around, thinking about her strengths. Then, after closing her eyes and shaking her head, the aardvark looked at Fox.

"Do you have anything I can shoot with?" She asked.

"I have a blaster, but I don't think you should train with it." Fox answered.

"I'll be careful, Fox, just set up a few targets!" Sophia said.

"We've got some up." Krystal told her. "Take her to them, Fox!"

Somewhat reluctant, Fox took Sophia over to an area where he set up some targets. Handing his blaster over to the aardvark, the orange tod watched her carefully, hoping that she wouldn't shoot someone by accident. However, Sophia then opened fire, the blaster going off as she did so. To Fox's surprise, she managed to hit the middle of each target. The vulpine was near speechless, even as Sophia handed him his blaster back. The aardvark was clearly an expert sharpshooter.

"Wow," Fox spoke, "you hit each target with little effort! You must be good with firearms!"

"I've had a few months of practice!" Sophia said.

"I can tell!" The orange tod said.

"Thank you." The aardvark said. "Now, let's head back, I want to do other things!"

Fox and Sophia began to head back to where the others were. While doing so, Fox saw something drop out of Sophia's pocket. Before he could pick it up, the orange tod saw the aardvark quickly get it off the ground. Despite that, Fox could still see what it was: a small device.

What was that thing supposed to be? He thought to himself.

Three hours later and Fox had stopped training with Bert, Melissa, Cedric, Bentley, Lisa, Cyril and Sophia. All of them were exhausted, even though Sophia was still standing. After that, each of them separated, deciding to head home for the day. Bert and Melissa came towards Fox and Krystal, deciding to help the latter to the Raccoondominium.

"Ralph must be having the time of his life if he hasn't come back yet." Melissa said.

"Yeah, what could he be doing with Wolf?" Bert asked.

"If Wolf's training is anything to go by, Ralph might be in utter hell now." Fox said.

However, Ralph then walked up to them, carrying a sack full of something. Behind him was Wolf, who was also carrying a sack over his shoulder.

"Hey guys!" Ralph greeted.

"How was your training session, Ralph?" Bert asked.

"It was tough, but I cleared the hump!" The scarf-wearing raccoon asked.

"What's in those bags?" Fox asked.

Ralph placed the sack he was carrying on the ground and opened it up. Inside of it was various fish, from catfish to bass. Bert and Melissa's eyes widened, while Fox looked impressed. Wolf followed suit with his bag, opening it up and revealing some more fish.

"You caught a lot of fish, didn't you?" Bert asked.

"Catching fish was the final part of our training session, and Ralph did well." Wolf said. "Now, all we need to do is gut these fish and get them ready for cooking."

"Right." Ralph said.

"Can I help?" Bert asked.

"Sure." The one-eyed lupine said, turning his head to Fox, Krystal and Melissa. "You should get Krystal to the house, her ankle is still twisted."

"We're on it!" Melissa said, taking Krystal's hand.

As Wolf, Bert and Ralph walked off to prepare the fish, Fox and Melissa took Krystal back to the Raccoondominium. Once they got there, Fox had Krystal lay on the couch as they spoke.

"Well," Krystal began, "we trained the others and met someone new today."

"Yeah," Fox stated, "and she proved to be pretty athletic."

"Are you talking about Sophia?" Melissa joined in on the conversation. "She's a talented figure skater and hockey player. She's even done track racing and pole vaulting in the Evergreen Olympics!"

"That's rather impressive, Melissa." Krystal said.

"Can you get us some drinks, please?" Fox asked.

Melissa nodded, walking over to the kitchen. Once she was there, Fox and Krystal continued their conversation, being as quiet as they could.

"Alright," Fox spoke, "I have to tell you something, before we came back, I saw something fall out of Sophia's pocket."

"Tell me about it." Krystal said.

"It was a small device." The orange tod said. "You don't think that Sophia could be working with Bolan, do you?"

"I didn't sense anything malicious in Sophia, so no, I don't." The cobalt vixen said. "Then again, she didn't seem too bright."

"Then what could that device she had be for?" He asked.

"We'll find out." She told him. "Even if we don't encounter Sophia when she has it, we will."

Melissa came over with two bottles of soda, handing them to Fox and Krystal.

"Thanks!" The two vulpines chorused.

"What are you talking about?" Melissa asked.

"We were just talking about Sophia." Krystal said.

"She's a delight, isn't she?" The raccoon asked.

"Yeah, she might be a valuable ally to us." Fox said.

Wolf, Bert and Ralph walked into the room with their sacks, setting the prepared fish on the kitchen table.

"Come on, let's get these fish cooked!" Bert said.

Fox, Krystal and Melissa went to help the others out with cooking the fish they caught. Once dinner was ready, all of them, except for Krystal, ate the fish. In fact, Krystal had some steamed vegetables that she helped Melissa work on. After dinner, everyone decided to do what they wanted before bed. Other than that, the night was peaceful.

Meanwhile, Bolan was resting next to his surveillance screens. Moments prior, he had fallen asleep next to the desk. The lynx slept until someone stepped into the room. Opening his eyes, he saw a cheetah with blue eyes. She was wearing a red army jacket, a black long-sleeved shirt, jean pants and boots.

"Lita," Bolan greeted, "what are you doing in here?"

"I came to see how you were doing." Lita, the cheetah, stated. "Anyway, we haven't seen any activity from the three strangers we have every right to assume to be aliens."

"Well, that's a pity." The lynx said.

"Is there anything you want me to do?" The cheetah asked.

"Go get Clive and Alexander," he said, "tell them to meet me in the basement tomorrow, and have them bring some weapons."

Lita then walked out of the room, leaving Bolan by himself. Now that he was alone, the lynx looked at the screens. He then smiled, thinking to himself.

They might have gotten multiple victories over me, Bolan thought to himself, but they won't after I get my perfect plan together. Once they are defeated, I WILL capture those aliens, and those who hid them from me will be locked up! It will be what they deserve!

Note: Oh boy, Bolan is planning something. As for Sophia, it appears that she might be hiding something. Can she be trusted? Also, will the training prove useful to the residents of the Evergreen Forest? Will Falco and Katt be able to transmit a recording of Fox, Krystal and Wolf speaking with them to General Pepper? Only time will tell. Until next time guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
