Note: I really need to register for classes at OU, if it's not too late. I'm lucky that the Semester starts on August 23rd, so I think I have enough time. Wish me luck on that, guys. Before we start the chapter, I want to say something to two reviewers.

Ron: To me, Bert feels like more of an older brother figure to Bentley than an uncle figure. However, the bonding between them is pretty cute. Stay tuned for the next chapter.

The White Wolf named Alex: Don't worry, Falco and Katt will be able to fight. Besides, they ARE pilots who are associated with Star Fox. I hope that you like this chapter as well.

Alright, it's time for chapter twelve.

Chapter 12: Fichina's Power Core and Bolan's Plan

Leon and Panther entered Fichina's atmosphere with little effort. In fact, they had arrived undetected, not alarming anyone as they landed. Once they got out of their Wolfens, the chameleon and the black jungle cat began to walk down to an industrial area. While doing so, they spoke to each other.

"So, where would the power core be in there?" Panther asked.

"Not sure," Leon spoke, "but I'd suggest letting me do the talking once we're in there. Chances are, there might be a few hostiles in the building."

"Alright," the feline said, "but let's not waste time."

Once they reached the entrance, Leon bashed the door open. After that, he and Panther entered the building, their blasters out. However, everything was deathly quiet, as if no one else was in the building. With that in mind, Leon and Panther didn't lower their blasters, as there might have been traps set up in the industrial area. Both the chameleon and the jungle cat kept their guard up as they went through the place.

"This is creepy, there's no one here!" Panther whispered.

"Keep your blaster out, lover boy, don't assume that there aren't people in here because everything is silent!" Leon whispered back.

"Alright, but don't get too crazy in battle." The jungle cat softly told him.

"You're not Wolf, you know." The chameleon stated.

After walking through the main hallway, Leon and Panther came across a poster that indicated where each room was. On it, it pointed to a few rooms that were irrelevant to the chameleon and the jungle cat, such as restrooms and a break room. However, they saw directions for the storage room.

"Storage room, eh?" Panther asked. "That's where we'll find a power core, isn't it?"

"Of course, moron, let's head to it!" Leon whispered.

Leon and Panther began to head in the direction of the storage room. However, in order to avoid attracting unwanted attention, if there was anything in the building, the chameleon and the jungle cat tiptoed to the storage room. Once they got there, the two saw several boxes that were labeled with a marker. In the back left corner was a box that didn't look as big as the others. Moving towards it, Leon picked it up and brought it out of the room. After that, Panther got out his pocket knife and opened it.

"Let's hope that we found what we were looking for." Panther whispered.

Opening the box, Leon and Panther saw several power cores in it. Surprisingly, none of the power cores were damaged. They all looked like they were brand new, as if they were just taken off of the assembly line. Upon seeing this, Leon got out his communicator.

"Pepper," he spoke into it, "we've found a box full of power cores. We're going to bring it to you."

"Good," General Pepper's voice came out of the communicator, "then we can get the portal working again! Report to the Cornerian Military Base when you have the chance, boys!"

"We will." Panther stated.

Now that they had the power cores with them, Leon and Panther left the abandoned factory. Once they were outside, the chameleon and the jungle cat entered their Wolfens and flew off. The two set a course for Corneria, intent on entering the Cornerian Military Base. The moment they got there, Leon handed the box of power cores to Steve, who was standing next to his Cornerian Fighter.

"I'll get these to Pepper," Steve said, "but I wouldn't recommend leaving the Cornerian Military Base. After all, we've got a rescue mission on our agenda."

"Get real," Leon snorted, "Panther and I are only planning on rescuing Wolf and his daughter. As for the Pup, the bird and Monroe, they aren't our main priority."

"So, helping Star Fox during the Aparoid invasion wasn't enough to make you grow closer to them?" The red wolf asked.

"Just get those power cores to Pepper!" The chameleon said as he rolled his eyes.

Steve took the box of power cores out of the room, closing the door behind him. When he was gone, Leon and Panther sat near their Wolfens, waiting for what would happen next.

Meanwhile, back in the Evergreen Forest, Bolan was down in the basement of his HQ with Lita. Next to them were a monkey and a Boston terrier. The monkey was wearing a camouflage shirt, jeans and tennis shoes, while the Boston terrier was wearing a bandana, an army jacket, a black t-shirt, gray pants and leather boots. They all sat around the table, overlooking a map of the Evergreen Forest.

"Friends," Bolan spoke, "as we know, there are aliens in the Evergreen Forest. As such, we need to catch them when they are vulnerable."

"How are we going to do that?" The monkey asked. "How will we know when they're vulnerable?"

"We need to disguise ourselves and spy on them." The lynx stated. "I'll have each of us bring a net, just in case none of them have anything they can cut themselves loose with."

"And," Lita spoke, "if we wind up fighting them, I'll use my best skills to incapacitate them!"

"Let's hope that there isn't much of a fight," the Boston terrier said, "I just want to prove that aliens exist, not kill them."

"Alexander has a point," the monkey stated, "it wouldn't feel right to seriously injure or kill life that exists beyond us."

"But," Bolan retorted, "we can make a profit off of our findings. Chances are, the government would be more than happy to pay us for finding aliens and capturing them!"

"And we've got plenty of darts that can put them out if they struggle!" Lita said.

"Then we can give the aliens to the government!" The monkey said.

"You have the right idea, Clive!" Bolan said, his eyes shining with greed.

"When do we move out?" Alexander asked.

"We'll move out tomorrow." The lynx said. "When we do, we want to make sure that we have the right equipment with us. Also, we'll put our best skills to the table, making sure that our extraterrestrial foes don't escape our sights!"

"Sounds like a plan." Alexander stated.

"Indeed!" Clive said.

"I can't wait to kick their asses!" Lita said, cracking her knuckles.

Bolan and his fellow alien hunters shared a good laugh, in anticipation for fighting the aliens that were in the Evergreen Forest.

Note: Yep, the alien hunters have their plans laid out. Let's just hope that the traps in the Evergreen Forest are enough to stop them in their tracks. In addition, it looks like everyone will have to utilize their training to its maximum in order to fight off the bad guys. Will they succeed, or will they be turned into mincemeat? We'll just have to find out. Until next time guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
