Note: As this is the week where I end this story, I hope that all of you have enjoyed it. This was an experiment to have a crossover between two franchises that you didn't think would ever meet. Before we move on, I have something to say to two reviewers.

Ron: Yes, good triumphs over evil. Even though that's not always the case, it's true.

The White Wolf named Alex: Yeah, Falco is a jerk. However, while he can be a piece of work at times, we love him for it.

Now that I've done that, it's time for chapter sixteen.

Chapter 16: Going Home

At the Cornerian Military Base, General Pepper was standing in front of the portal machine that would be used to bring back Fox, Falco, Krystal, Katt and Wolf back to Corneria. Standing around him were Peppy, Slippy, Fay, Miyu, Leon, Panther, Bill, Lucy, Dash, Randorn, Art, Steve and Maria. They all waited in anticipation for the portal's activation, especially given how the portal had a new power core in it. It was six thirty in the evening, so it was ready for activation. Before it could be turned on, General Pepper gave a speech.

"Friends," he spoke, "we have gathered here today for the activation of the portal. The data from the world in which Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, Krystal Bodimead, Katt Monroe and Wolf O'Donnell are in has been entered into the portal's database, meaning that we are able to immediately reach them. With that in mind, I will turn on the portal to access the world our allies are in!"

Pressing a switch on the machine, Pepper only stood back as a portal opened up. Everyone watched in awe as it activated, with the remaining members of Star Fox and Star Wolf looking on in happiness and excitement. They waited for the portal to open up in the world their allies were stuck in. When that happened, Fox, Falco, Krystal, Katt and Wolf would be back in their world. The two teams would be back together, and they would be in peace for the time being. Their luck was turning in their favor.

Back in the Evergreen Forest, Fox, Falco, Krystal, Katt and Wolf were at the Blue Spruce Café with their allies. The five Lylatians were waiting for the portal to arrive, as it would take them home. Krystal had the device with her, so they knew when and where it would open up. Despite feeling glad to go home, they felt somewhat saddened. Even Wolf felt reluctant, as he thought that heading back to the Lylat System would render the training he did with Ralph and the others a one-time thing. He even knew that he would miss the residents of the Evergreen Forest, as he warmed up to them.

All of a sudden, Bert tapped his glass with a spoon, causing everyone to look at him.

"Everyone," he spoke, "seeing as our friends have to return home tonight, I feel as though it's necessary we say our goodbyes to them."

"What time does the portal open again?" Cedric asked.

"It opens at seven," Fox answered, "so we've got enough time to spare."

"What time is it now?" Lisa asked.

"It's six forty-five," Ralph said, "so we should head back to the Raccoondominium as means of making sure Fox and the others are right on time."

"Yes," Krystal said, "but, rest assured, I will miss you all and I thank you for helping us out during our time in the Evergreen Forest."

Before any one could get up, Sophia approached Fox, Falco, Krystal, Katt and Wolf.

"I didn't thank any of you enough for helping me to catch Eric Bolan and his associates." She told them. "Without your help, they would've caused destruction and chaos in order to get what they wanted. I also want to thank each of you for training with me and my friends. If we didn't do any of it, we would've been taken down easily."

"Are you going to leave as well, Sophia?" Cedric asked.

"Of course not," Sophia answered, "my boss is moving his business here! But, don't worry, our services are to protect the innocent!"

"You're just like us, in a way, hon." Katt stated.

"I can't get over how much you've changed, Sofa Girl!" Cyril happily stated.

"I guess that makes two of us, Mr. Sneer!" The female aardvark responded, her voice close to a chuckle.

Fox, Falco, Krystal, Wolf and Katt smiled at the conversation. However, knowing that they didn't have much time, the five Lylatians opened the door to the Blue Spruce Café.

"We're gonna leave, guys!" Fox said.

"It was nice knowing each and every last one of you!" Krystal added.

"Bye, everybody!" Katt said.

"Bye!" Cedric said.

"We'll never forget you!" Sophia told the five Lylatians.

"Thank you for everything, my friends!" Dr. Bucciarati stated.

"When you get back home, tell them that you met a millionaire!" Cyril told them.

Fox walked out of the Blue Spruce Café. Following him was Krystal, Falco, Katt and Wolf, who closed the door behind them. Once they got out, the five Lylatians began to make their way to the Raccoondominium. Accompanying them was Bert, Ralph, Melissa, Bentley, Lisa, George and Nicole, the seven raccoons helping their friends stay out of sight. As the group walked down to the Raccoondominium, Krystal had the device on, scanning for when the portal would open. Luckily, it wasn't long until everyone reached the Raccoondominium, as it was a mile away. In addition to that, the portal would open up in two minutes.

"Once we reach the portal, Katt and I will go ahead and fly through it." Falco told Fox.

"We'll let you guys have some final words with your friends before you go through it." Katt added.

"Thanks, guys." Fox said.

"Don't mention it." Falco said.

Upon arriving at the Raccoondominium, Falco and Katt entered their ships. The moment they did so, the portal opened up. When they saw it, the pheasant and the pink cat flew their ships through it.

"Wish us luck, guys!" Katt shouted at Fox, Krystal and Wolf.

"Ships coming through, people!" Falco shouted into the portal.

Once Falco and Katt were gone, Fox, Krystal and Wolf found themselves speaking with the Raccoon family.

"I guess that this is goodbye forever, guys." Bert sadly stated.

"Yeah," Fox said, "but we can't remain in the Evergreen Forest for the rest of our lives. We're needed in our world, after all."

"Is there anyway that you can visit the Evergreen Forest sometime?" George asked.

"I'm not sure if the General would allow us to use it for stuff like this, but we can speak with him." The orange tod said.

"Until then," Krystal spoke as she reached into her pocket, "you'll have something to remember us by."

"What is it?" Lisa asked.

Krystal took out an envelope and handed it to the Raccoons.

"Read it when you miss us!" The cobalt vixen said as she approached the portal.

Wolf was the next to speak, looking at the Raccoons with a tinge of sadness in his eyes.

"Well," he spoke, "I'm not one for long goodbyes, so I'll say this: all of you proved to be better than I thought. In fact, I'm rather glad to have worked with you and your friends. I rarely respect opponents outside of Star Fox, but I'll make an exception to all of you. Thank you for your services, my friends!"

"I'll remember what you taught us when we trained with you, Wolf!" Ralph said.

"And we'll use it well!" Melissa added.

Fox, Krystal and Wolf then faced the portal, preparing for the trip back to Corneria.

"Goodbye everyone, and thanks for everything!" Fox said.

"Bye guys!" Bert said.

"We'll never forget you!" Melissa stated.

"Bye!" Lisa shouted.

"Don't forget about us!" Bentley said.

"I'll use my training in each situation I get in, my friends!" Ralph stated.

"Have a pleasant trip!" George yelled.

"Bon voyage!" Nicole shouted.

After hearing the Raccoons' final words to them, Fox, Krystal and Wolf went through the portal. After a few minutes, the three found themselves in the Cornerian Military Base. In addition to Falco and Katt, General Pepper, Peppy, Slippy, Fay, Miyu, Leon, Panther, Bill, Lucy, Dash, Randorn, Art, Steve and Maria were standing around the machine. They were all waiting in anticipation for their allies to return, to the point where they looked happy to see them again.

"Hello everybody!" Fox greeted.

"Are we going to stand around all day, or are you going to say something to us?" Wolf asked.

Everyone welcomed Fox, Wolf and Krystal back into the Lylat System, deciding not to get too excited to see them again. After all, what their allies went through was quite a journey, to the point where they would need to talk about it for quite some time. Nonetheless, they were finally back on Corneria.

Note: This ain't the end of the story, folks. In fact, there are two more chapters left. Once they're out of the way, the story will officially be done. Until next time guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
