Home Away From Home
Sunday September 1st, 1991
Ron leaned his head back and closed his eyes. He had overheard his brothers and parents saying that it was a home away from home. Ron hoped they had been telling the truth.
Hogwarts would be his home. Not home away from home. Home. The Burrow was never really his home, they welcomed Luna more than him. The closest thing to a home he had those 11 years was a clearing in the woods. He had made a little hut, there was a river, and it was dark because the trees covered it. It was the only place he felt comfortable in/with.
He was brought of of his thoughts when Noir leaped off his lap and Yuki hooted loudly. He stood up right away, alert. He sighed with relief when Noir just spotted a toad.
"Wait, didn't i hear a kid say he lost one?" Ron thought to himself. He knelt down and gently pushed Noir out of the way.
He looked under the seat and pulled the toad out. "Wait here, girls." He murmered to the animals.
He slid the door open and made his way through the Slytherin corridor. All the curtains were down, which Ron was greatful for. He rushed his way through the other three corridors and sighed when he reached the 1st year one.
"...Well, I'm going to tell you now and I'm sure that Malfoy and Neville know this." Ron heard a bossy girl's voice from an open compartment at the end.
"That's what his name was! Neville.. I'm just going to give him his toad and leave." Ron thought as he inched closer.
"Hermione, can we just find-?" A boy started, but the girl named Hermione interrupted him.
"Hold on, Neville. It's rude to interrupt people." Hermione scoalded and Ron watched as she turned back to the other two boys while the boy Neville just hung his head.
"As i was saying-" she shot Neville a look. "-Hogwarts is a home away from home. Not exactly like your home because you won't have your family there, or have your own room, or- you know what i mean." She finished.
"Why would Draco and Neville know that?" A familiar voice asked meekly. Ron recognised it as Harry's.
"Because they're Purebloods, and grew up in the Wizarding world. Meaning that they have parents that would have told them." Hermione stated in a matter-of-factly tone. She had a smug look on as if she just won an award or competition.
"I was never told that." Another voice spoke.
"I know that voice." Ron thought for a second. "Oh! That's the kid who was staring at me with his dad two months ago." He realized. He shook his head and went back on track.
He went to the door, but didn't enter, it was way too cramped in there. "Um..." He muttered. Everyone looked to him. Hermione annoyed, Harry excited, Draco nervous, and Neville relieved. "I found your toad, Neville.." He mumbled and held the toad out.
"Oh thank you!" Neville exclaimed and he took it. "Thanks for trying to help, Hermione. I gotta go." He then raced out of the compartment, looking happy that he got away.
Ron turned to leave, but Hermione caught his arm. "What?" He asked her quietly as he turned back to the compartment.
"Do you always speak like that?" She asked, annoyed. "It's annoying." She continued.
"Oh, I'm the annoying one?" Ron thought glaring at her. "What's it to you if that's how i talk?" He whispered, a little louder then normal, but still a whisper.
"Because it's annoying!" She argued, her voice raising. "You just walked into our compartment and start annoying us? That's super disrespectful!" She galred back at him.
"That's exactly what you did to Draco and Harry!" Ron scowled, lowly. "You just walked in and started yapping! All you had to do was ask them if you saw Neville's toad and then leave!" She gaped at him and then her expression turned furious.
"And how would you know that?" She yelled. Some people were starting to look out from their areas.
"Because you're so loud, Hermione." He answered, softly aggressive. "All i wanted to do was give Neville his toad, but if she wants a fight.." Hermione pushed him and he stumbled back.
"What the hell?" He stared at her in disbelief. "Great. Just great. Haven't even got to school yet and I'm already in a fight."
Before he even moved a cat jumped on Hermione and started attacking her. "AH! GET THIS BEAST OFF OF ME!" She cried, blood and tears trickling down her face.
Ron whistled and Noir jumped onto his shoulder, practically glaring at Hermione.
"You shouldn't pick fights with people you don't know." He whispered and left.

Oop-
Heh..I'm addicted to this story.
This isn't going to be a Hermione bashing story, just an annoying Hermione story. She might get better over time.(probably 3rd year).
