Chapter Fifty: An Imposter
A quick note from the author: Alright I started writing chapter one of Wiztanic but I sort of got stuck so I apologize, but I'll need a bit more time to think about it.
Severus, Remus, and Sirius all went down to Severus' room together. Lily was shocked when she saw all three of them enter the room, but the one she turned over to look at first was Severus. "Severus, what's going on? Where's Harry?" She questioned him anxiously.
"It's a long story but basically Harry found himself in the middle of a shrinking charm that accidentally backfired and I'm currently brewing a swelling solution potion for the antidote." He explained. "Now Lily, we need to talk." He told her before she finally met Sirius' gaze.
"What do you want?" She asked him while she slowly began to back away from him.
"Now Lily, I already know that you're not going to believe me but I'm still going to try and tell you anyways." He began. "All this talk about me murdering muggles and muggleborns and scaring Girl Scout campers is all a lie. I never did any of that and I never betrayed you and James. It was Peter Pettigrew just like I told you." He told her.
"Then why did it say you did in The Daily Prophet?" Lily wondered.
"It's obvious, isn't it?" Remus began. "There's an imposter among us. Somebody has been masquerading as Sirius and trying to frame him for it using a Polyjuice potion." He explained.
"And that's why I came to Hogwarts to come and tell everyone the truth. Once I got to the castle, I saw a rat scurry towards the Gryffindor common room." Sirius told them.
"That's because that rat belongs to a student here at the castle." Severus told him.
"No Severus, that isn't just any rat. I would recognize that rat anywhere. Besides, he's missing a toe." Sirius pointed out.
"Do you mean to say that Weasley's rat is Pettigrew?" Severus questioned him with uncertainty.
"It has to be, and my guess is that he's the imposter who has been trying to frame me as well. Now all I need to do is make sure that Harry and Sarah know the truth." Sirius told him but he simply just looked at him.
"I'm not sure that's such a good idea. I mean Sarah wasn't even born until after Potter died, but even though Harry was just a baby, I don't think he would want to meet the man who betrayed the man who biologically helped bring him into the world." He told him and that is when for the first time in twelve years Lily started thinking about the night that both her and Harry nearly died and finally asked the question that had been puzzling her for many years since she asked it that night.
"Why do you think that I didn't get a scar the night that the dark lord tried to kill me?" She wondered and that's when silence fell in the room and everybody else turned to look at her.
"I'm not sure." Remus began. "I never really figured that part out actually." He finished and Lily started thinking more about James, but also trying to control herself of how much she thought of him since she was now married to Severus and had quite a few biological children with him and loved him very much.
Still, she had known how much James had loved Harry and she knew how much he would have loved being able to see him grow up. She had remembered that not too long before he died that he blew unpoppable bubbles for Harry to catch and play with out in the front yard and him riding on his toy broomstick and saying (as he brought Harry in for a diaper change) how much he couldn't wait until he would be able to prove his wife that he was right about the fact that Harry was born to be a Qudditch player.
However, unfortunately due to the fact that he was murdered by Voldemort he had never gotten that chance, but Lily knew that since the day he died he was still watching over Harry, Sarah, and the rest of their family.
Meanwhile, back at Honeydukes Harry and Ron had started to run away as fast as their tiny little legs could carry them as they screamed out in fear while Draco quickly grabbed Hermione and started running as well. They found that since they were so much smaller than they usually were they were able to run faster and Spooky scampered along behind them. They had managed to get out of the shop before anybody could catch them or have time to even wonder exactly what or who they had just seen.
"Phew! That was close." Ron said breathing heavily and then let out a sigh of relief.
"Yeah, let's continue going to Hagrid's." Harry began. "Maybe he can get my dad and then he can make us big again." He suggested before they continued on their way. They climbed back onto Spooky's back and eventually they made it back to Hagrid's hut. They just hoped and prayed that Hagrid would find them before Fang or Buckbeak. When they arrived they found the door was shut.
"Great!" Ron exclaimed sarcastically. "Now what? We can't even use our wands to open the door. They're too small."
"Hold on, let me try something." Hermione began before hopping off of Spooky's back and heading towards the door. After that she got down on her hands and knees and rolled underneath the crack. That's when Draco got up and hurried after her.
"Hermione, are you alright?" He questioned her anxiously.
"Yes come on, it's safe." She reassured him before Draco and the others rolled underneath the door after her. After they got inside Hagrid's hut, they could see that he was sitting on the couch close to the fireplace taking a nap and snoring rather loudly.
"Oh great we'll never be loud enough to wake him up." Ron pointed out.
"Good point." Hermione replied before she turned over to look at Spooky and a humongous grin stretched across her face.
