Book Four: Harry Snape and The Goblet of Fire
Chapter Fifty-Seven: The Portkey
It turned out that Crookshanks had accidentally drank an engorging potion, but with the help of the headmaster and headmistress he was soon back to his regular size. Harry was rather disappointed and unhappy that Professor Lupin had decided to resign, but he understood why. Especially since he now had the same curse that he had.
However, he also remembered the final words his godfather told him before he went back into hiding. He couldn't let being a werewolf define him, for he knew his friends didn't think of him any differently and that's all that mattered to him.
Before he knew it his fourteenth birthday came and went and now, he (along with the rest of his family) was busy sleeping over the Weasley's house with Draco and Hermione because they were about to go to the Qudditch World Cup together. His Jack Russell Terrier Mix Patches was busy whimpering and licking his face because he was having another nightmare about Voldemort again.
It had always been the same one. Peter Pettigrew was in it and two other men that Harry didn't know other than the fact that he recognized one of the men to be a muggle and he always woke up in a cold sweat right when was Voldemort was murdering him. This time he had Hermione, Ginny, and Sarah looking down on him with looks of concern on their faces.
"Are you alright Harry?" Ginny questioned him anxiously as he opened his eyes and began to rub them before he sat up and put his glasses on his face.
"Yeah, I'm fine." He replied.
"Well, we were sent up to get you and after what just happened to me downstairs with Mum and Dad, I really didn't want to argue with them." Sarah explained.
"Really? What happened?" Harry wondered as Sarah turned her head away from him and looked as if she was about to cry and Hermione heaved a sigh.
"She got into a fight with Fred and George." She began. "They were telling her that she didn't know how to perform the fire making spell properly so not only did she prove them wrong and perform underage magic, but she accidentally set fire to Mrs. Weasley's curtains. So, your father told her that he would report her to the school and if she did it again, she would be suspended and not only that but she's grounded for a week." She explained.
"Ouch." Harry began. "That's rough Sarah. Will you still be able to go to the Qudditch World Cup with us?" He wondered.
"Yes, but only because we're going as a family. Dad told me that as long as there aren't anymore incidents that I will still be able to get my own broomstick and be a part of the Qudditch team this year though." She told him with a grin.
"Uh oh, sounds like you're going to have some competition this year Harry." Draco said as he entered the room and handed an envelope over to Ginny. "Here, Pigwidgeon had this." He explained.
"Pigwidgeon?" Harry questioned with uncertainty while Ginny began to tear it open and Ron sat up on his bed and rolled his eyes.
"Yeah it's our new owl that Sirius gave to us because he felt guilty about the loss of Scabbers. Ginny named him that and I tried to change it but that's all he answers to now." He explained.
"I think that it's cute!" Ginny protested.
"It's stupid!" Ron hollered back and Harry chuckled while Ginny stuck her tongue out at him.
"Is it like this with you and your sister?" Harry wondered as he looked at Draco since it had just occurred to him that he didn't think he had met her last year.
"Sometimes, but actually we get along rather well and I'm glad because after the divorce we needed each other's support." He replied before he heaved a sad sigh. "Unfortunately, the only time I see her is at school because Dad got custody of her and I'm with Mum." He explained.
"At least he can't abuse you anymore though." Hermione pointed out as he turned to look at her.
"True, but I'm still worried about her." He replied as Ginny's face suddenly lit up with excitement.
"Hey guess what guys!? Luna and her father are going to see us at the Qudditch World Cup!" She exclaimed excitedly as Sarah smiled.
"That is exciting, I really like her and us Ravenclaws have to stick together." She said for she had gotten rather close to Luna the previous year and was really looking forward to seeing her again. Harry was happy for her as well and smiled at her as he got up and went downstairs for breakfast along with everyone else.
…
A little while later everybody finished packing and then went outside for a walk in the woods. Harry didn't know where they were going, but he figured that it had to be the way towards the Qudditch World Cup. Along the way they came to a stop and Harry remembered it was because Arthur Weasley was meeting his friend Amos Diggory who worked for the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.
The two embraced each other once they met each other and then Harry turned his head to see a boy that was a few years older than him. "Harry, this strapping young man is Cedric Diggory." Arthur explained as Cedric grinned at him and then the two of them shook hands.
"Pleasure to meet you at last Harry." He told him happily and Harry smiled weakly back at him since he had nearly forgotten that he was famous in the wizarding world. However, he secretly began to wonder if that would change once the wizarding world discovered that he was now a werewolf.
"Nice to meet you too." Harry replied before they continued on their way until they reached a manky old boot and it had occurred to him that it had to be a portkey. Everybody except Hermione (who for once didn't know what it was) put their hands on it before Draco called her name and she suddenly realized what she was supposed to do and put her hand on it as well and that's within a blink of an eye they were all transported away.
