Chapter Fifty-Eight: The Death Eaters
Harry smiled as he watched Sarah, Ginny, and Luna all hug each other and Draco smiled brightly as he noticed how excited Hermione was and kissed her on the cheek. Thankfully Ginny was able to grab Ron in time and pull him back before he tackled him to the ground.
"Oh this is going to be a really long year." Hermione said before heaving a sigh and rolling her eyes and Sarah silently nodded in agreement.
Meanwhile Harry was amazed as soon as he saw the size of the inside of the Weasley's tent. He hadn't been camping with his family since he was a little boy, but he had had a regular tent back then. His eyes widened in shock and amazement, and he let out a sudden gasp of astonishment.
"I love magic." He whispered while Patches and Tickle started chasing around and playing with each other and Tobey and Evie started playing a game of Wizard Cards. That's when suddenly Arthur Weasley turned to look over at Harry while everybody else unpacked.
"Harry, there's somebody who wants to see you and Ginny already found him." He told him and suddenly filled with curiosity Harry walked out of the tent and towards Ginny and spotted another wizard talking to her that had short brown hair, skin as white as snow, bright blue eyes, and a handsome face and smiled at Harry. He was also wearing green robes and had a shamrock painted on his right cheek in support of the Irish team.
"Hullo Harry, do you remember me?" He inquired but Harry just simply shook his head at him.
"Sorry, but no." He replied as the other wizard chuckled.
"I figured you wouldn't. It's been years since we've seen each other, but I'm Aaron Parker." He told him.
"Thee Aaron Parker of The Dragons." Ginny told him with an excited grin, but Harry just simply had a blank look upon his face and Aaron chuckled again.
"It's alright, let's just consider this as our meeting since you were quite young when we last met." Aaron told him before shaking his hand.
"Oh, well in that case nice to meet you." Harry told him.
"The other Dragons should be around here somewhere." Aaron began. "The last I saw them they were chasing after Derek who was trying to capture some leprechauns." He finished before he walked away.
That night after they finished roasting marshmallows, they started making their way to the Qudditch stadium and both Harry and Sarah started dreaming of the day when they too would be able to compete for the Qudditch World Cup. Harry and his family got seats together while the Weasleys sat next to them, and Draco and Hermione just turned to look at each other.
"Want to sit together?" Hermione asked him but Draco had a really rather nervous and worried look on his face.
"Sorry, but I don't think that it's a good idea. If anybody spots us together, I won't be able to live it down." He replied as Hermione slightly nodded at him.
"Ah, I see." She told him.
"I better just go find Crabbe and Goyle. Sorry Granger." He told her before he turned around and ran off and tears were now silently streaming down Hermione's cheeks. Ginny noticed this and quickly got up and ran over to her before embracing her tightly as she began to sob.
"Come on Hermione, you can come over and sit with us." She told her before taking her by the hand and leading her over towards their seats.
…..
Ireland had wound up winning the match and everybody but Hermione Granger was ecstatic over it. While everybody else was outside celebrating with wizard snaps, Hermione went back inside the tent and was busy sobbing into her pillow. Draco had been feeling rather concerned and worried about her, so he decided to go inside after her.
"Granger are you in here?" He questioned her.
"Go away Malfoy!" She hollered back at him through her sobs without even lifting her head to turn back and look at him.
"Look, I'm sorry." He began. "But you know that a lot of the wizarding world sees a mud_ err umm,.. I mean,.. a muggleborn and a pureblood being friends as an abomination." He explained.
"Sorry I didn't mean to hurt your reputation." She replied with a sniff as he heaved a sigh and sat down on top of her bedside and looked down at her.
"Hermione I_" he began, but before he could finish his sentence that's when Rebel flew into the tent and landed on top of her headboard, and he saw that he had an envelope addressed to him clamped underneath his beak. As he quickly grabbed the envelope the owl flew away, and his eyes grew wide with fright as he had finished tearing open the letter.
"It's from my father. We have to get out of here now and warn the others!" He yelled while helping her off of the bed and then took her by the hand and raced outside. "We have to leave now!" He cried out while keeping Hermione close to his side, but it was already too late. An army of death eaters was busy marching towards them.
"Get back to the portkey!" Arthur hollered. "Ron, Ginny is your responsibility!" He cried when suddenly one of the death eaters grabbed Hermione by the arm and started dragging her away.
"Draco!" She cried while she started reaching out back towards him.
"Hermione!" Draco shouted on the top of his lungs while he withdrew his wand and started running back over towards her. "Let her go right now you bastard!" He yelled.
"She's a mudblood and she has to die." He said and that's when suddenly without thinking Draco gave his wand a swish and flick and said the first spell that came to his mind.
"Petificus Toatlus." He said and watched as the death eater dropped his arms by his side and froze and collapsed over backwards automatically letting go of Hermione before he put his wand away and hurried over to her.
"You could get expelled for that." She pointed out.
"I don't care. You're worth it." He told her before they silently gazed into one another's eyes.
