Chapter Sixty-Four: First Crush

Just a quick note from the author: First of all, happy Fourth of July everyone, second of all it looks like I jinxed myself when I said that I wasn't having writer's block on "Better As A Memory" because I just started writing the next chapter and got stuck so I apologize for that. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the next chapter!

Hermione watched the reptilian creature fly off into the night and then as soon as her mind started thinking about Harry and Draco, she heard a man clear his throat behind her. Her heart started pounding again as she slowly started turning around and looked up to see Professor Snape and Professor McGonagall standing behind her.

"Miss Granger, what the devil are you doing out here in the middle of the night!?" Professor McGonagall snapped while Hermione attempted to open her mouth but found that no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't form any words. "I half expected this out of you during your first year, but I never would expect this out of a fourth year. And I suppose that Mr. Weasley and Severus' son are in this with you as well." She said but before she could open her mouth Draco appeared.

"No Mam, Weasley isn't involved but I am." He told her while Severus began to look around.

"Where's Harry?" He questioned.

"Harry who?" Hermione questioned him back before Draco elbowed her in the stomach while Severus just simply glared at her.

"My son." He replied. "You know, the boy with a lightning bolt scar on his forehead?" Severus questioned her.

"Oh that Harry." She said while he just continued looking at her.

"Yes, that Harry. Where is?" He wondered.

"Probably in the dark forest by now trying to catch one of the unicorns to eat." Draco replied while having a nervous expression on his face.

"You mean to tell me that he turned into a werewolf!?" Severus cried out.

"Afraid so." He replied before Severus heaved a sigh and rolled his eyes.

"I'll go ahead and brew up a sleeping potion and bait some dragon meat with it so I can get him back to the castle." He said before Hermione gasped.

"You're not going to kill Spike are you?" She questioned him anxiously.

"Of course not,…" he began. "who's Spike?" He questioned her afterwards.

"He's one of the dragons in the Triwizard tournament." She explained.

"Oh, I see." He began. "No don't worry I'm not going to touch one of those dragons. I'm just going down to the kitchen to get some out of the refrigerator." He told her before he turned around and started walking back inside the castle and then stopped and eyed her suspiciously for defending a dragon and then continued back inside.

"As for you two." Professor McGonagall began as she turned back around to face Hermione and Draco. "Normally an act like this for fourth years would cause an immediate suspension but considering the fact that Severus' child is involved with this and he's a Triwizard champion, I wouldn't be able to suspend him as well so here is how I will handle this. All three of you will be deducted a hundred points from your houses, I will be writing to your families, you will be receiving detention tomorrow night and Miss Granger you and young Snape will be losing a month of Hogsmeade privileges. Have I made myself clear?" She inquired.

"Yes Professor." Hermione replied before Draco silently nodded at her.

"Alright then, off to bed both of you." She instructed before she walked away and Hermione waited until she knew that she was gone before she turned to look over at Draco.

"You're lucky that you have the Marauder's Map." She began. "Nobody even knows that you can enter Hogsmeade." She told him.

"True, but if I let you use it and you use Harry's invisibility cloak then nobody will know that you can get in either." He began with a grin. "And I can buy you a butterbeer." He suggested.

"Wait a second,.. are you asking me out?" She wondered.

"It's a possibility." He replied with a shrug.

"I'm sorry Draco, I would love to but if I get caught, I would be in even more trouble. Some other time, okay?" She questioned him before he let out a sad sigh while he watched her walk back inside.

"Yeah,.. excellent." He replied once she had left with hurt and disappointment in his eyes.

.

"Draco Malfoy asked you out on a date." Ron began the next morning at breakfast in complete and utter disbelief.

"So? What if he did?" Hermione responded pretending to read while hiding the fact that she was blushing.

"I knew it!" Ron began while standing up and pointing over at her. "You have the hots for him admit it!" He exclaimed and it was at this point in time that The Great Hall grew silent and everybody in the room was looking over at them. Hermione's cheeks grew pink while Ginny's cheeks grew hot in anger as she got to her feet as well.

"Ron shut up before I seal up your lips myself!" She threatened as she grabbed her wand.

"I have to go." Hermione said as she quickly got up from the table and ran out of the room as Luna watched her and then slowly got up from the table herself.

"I'll be right back." She told Sarah before she started following Hermione to the girl's lavatory. Meanwhile Hermione had shut herself in one of the bathroom stalls and started to cry right when Moaning Myrtle had floated into the room and had heard her sobs.

"That better not be a boy in there!" She hollered angrily.

"It isn't Myrtle." Hermione began with a shake of her head. "It's just me. Hermione Granger. But it's because of a boy that I'm in here. Because of two boys actually." She explained with a sniff before wiping her nose on the back of her hand just as Luna was entering the room.

"Hullo Myrtle." She began while smiling up at the ghostly girl. "Did Hermione Granger come in here?" She wondered.

"Yes she did." She began. "She's right over there actually." She told her before directing her towards the proper stall with her finger and then floating right through the door.
