Alright, this is my first fanfiction. Give it a shot please.
Elena POV
I jammed my key into the lock, desperate for it to click. The Mikaelson's men couldn't be too far behind me and I needed to be as far away as possible. I never should have taken that stupid loan to begin with.
Klaus had been threatening me to pay up for a couple of weeks and it's not that I hadn't been trying, but it was hard when you had no money.
Still... I didn't think he would take the kind of action he did. So, with blood, both mine and Kol's, dripping down my hands, I stormed inside and sprinted to my room.
My breath coming out in shaky exhales, I pulled down a black duffel bag from the top of my closet and began throwing in any clothes I found close to me.
After packing in a panic, I fell to my knees and ran my hands on the floor until I found the right board. Ripping the plank up, I forced the tears back.
No, I thought. You can't cry now. You can't break down right now.
I silently swore to myself that this would not be a repeat of the fire.
The fire.
Oh, if only I had thought. If I had used my brain instead of letting my emotions take control that night maybe my family would still be alive. Maybe it wouldn't be my fault and they wouldn't be dead.
But it was my fault and they were dead.
Forcing my self back to the present, I dipped a hand into the dark space underneath floorboard and felt around until my hand grasped the cool metal.
I pulled my hand out and stared at the deadly weapon.
Black and shiny, what was once my dad's glock was gripped in my shaking hand. I had never shot it before but I knew that I might have to in the soon to come future.
I shoved it in the waistband of my jeans and slung the duffel bag over my shoulder.
I was headed for the back window when I heard the pounding on my front door.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
" Gilbert! If you don't open this door I'm gonna bust it in! You can come willingly so don't make this any harder than it has to be!" I recognized the voice as Conner Jordan's.
Aside from being one of Klaus' favorite men, he was also an experienced kidnapper and killer. No wonder he was the leader of this mission.
I shuddered at the thought of what he would do to me if he caught me. Before he took me back to Klaus of course.
I kept sprinting for the window, determined to make it there before Connor got to me.
I heard the sound of a window shattering and I knew he was inside now. I kept going. The window was only a few feet from me now.
I fumbled with the lock before jerking it open and jumping out. My feet hit the ground and I stumbled forward a few steps before taking off again.
I had to get to the bus station. I pushed myself harder and drew more air into my burning lungs.
Katherine told me exactly where to go, "Get to Mystic Falls and find Damon Salvatore. Tell him who you are and who sent you and he will help you."
And so I was going to exactly and she had said. I really hope this Damon Salvatore would be my rescue.
Damon POV
"No, I don't want the 10,00! I want the the 5,000 and the services. I don't understand how you can be so incompetent. I hired you for a job. You're a hit man so go hit someone!" I slammed the phone down.
I swear if you wanted someone dead you had to kill them yourself. Which I would.
But not right now. Right now I needed a break.
I picked up my leather jacket and slung it over my shoulder. I needed a drink.
Little did I know that that trip to the grille would let me meet a certain brunette who would forever change my life.
Okay, so yeah it was a pretty short chapter but I promise the next one will be much longer. Let me know if it is worth continuing because this is my first fanfiction. Please drop a review and let me know if I should keep going.
