Chapter Seventy-One: The Rescue

Just a quick note from the author: Hey guys, sorry I was absent the past couple days but first I was sick and then my charger broke but I'm back now and I really hope you enjoy the next chapter! :D

Harry put the bit of gillyweed inside his mouth that Neville had given him. He started to gag but managed to keep it inside of his stomach no matter how sickish that it made him feel inside. As he started looking around, he realized that he could not find Ron anywhere in sight. Just as he was starting to feel rather concerned, Sarah quickly hurried over to him.

"Dad just wanted me to let you know that Ron's alright and he's currently on a special assignment that Dumbledore is giving to him, and you're supposed to line up with the other champions now." She told him and he nodded silently at her before she ran back over to watch the competition with the rest of her friends. When she got there, a boy that she had not seen before was standing in front of her.

As she continued looking at him, he looked rather familiar to her. He had short black and blue eyes, but pale white skin. She noticed that he was also in Ravenclaw like her and probably about a year older than her. "Excuse me, have we met?" She asked him before he turned around and smiled at her.

"No, but I know who you are." He began. "My father is friends with your family. Caleb Lake." He told her and offered his hand over to her to shake. "Nice to finally meet you at last Miss Sally." He told her with a grin, and it was at that moment that Sarah's eyes widened with amazement as she realized that this was Dragon member Rickie Lake's son.

Meanwhile Mad-Eye Moody had shoved Harry into the water and while he started falling through it, he noticed that his body started to transform. He had gills on the side of his face and webbed fingers and toes. As he started swimming around it just occurred to him that he had absolutely no idea what he was looking for. That's when he realized that he wasn't alone though. For currently swimming everywhere around him was a school of merpeople.

He remembered seeing a mermaid at the beach one time when he was about seven years old, and she did not look anything like they did. For they had dark blue scaly skin and the blackest eyes he had ever seen. They all turned to look at him and their eyes turned red, and they began to hiss at him and show their long-pointed teeth at him. At the moment they looked scarier to him than a dementor and he widened his eyes and fell frozen with fear before they turned on their tails and continued swimming away.

That's when a different looking mermaid with tanned skin, long black hair, amber colored eyes, and an orange tail swam over to him. She glanced up at his scar and then waved her hand. "Come on, he's this way." She told him and at this Harry felt just a tad bit confused.

"Who is?" He wondered as she stopped and turned to look back at him.

"The handsome looking weasel." She replied and he thought for a moment before responding.

"Do you mean Ron Weasley?" He asked her.

"Yes, your friend is over here. They have him." She explained. "Follow me, Harry Snape." She told him and even though he did as he was told, Harry found it incredibly difficult to keep up with the beautiful mermaid. Eventually she led him to the clearing where four different people were tied to four different posts.

One of them was Gabrielle Delacour Fleur's younger sister, another one was a Hufflepuff student by the name of Amber Baker, and Harry's heart sunk when he saw Cho Chang and his best friend Ron all tied up to the posts. However, he sighed a sigh of relief when he realized that Cedric rescued her using the bubblehead charm.

Harry swam over to Ron and then glanced over at Viktor Krum who had the head of a shark and bit on the rope to free Amber before swimming away with her. He looked over at Gabrielle and noticed that nobody was coming over to save her and that Fleur should have come to claim her by now. "I have to do something." He said while looking over at the friendly mermaid.

"You can't. You can only save one of them. That's the rules." She told him but he could not think straight and was starting to worry that if Gabrielle was not saved within the hour that the merfolk would keep her hostage and she could die. Harry withdrew his wand and pointed it at Gabrielle's rope. "Wait! What are you doing!?" She cried out.

"Reducto!" He exclaimed before giving it a jagged wave and a blue light escaped from the tip of his wand.

Back on land Sarah was starting to worry about her brother along with her father, Ginny, Hermione, and Draco. For she knew that she was already in danger of losing one of her siblings and she didn't really want to lose another one. A tear rolled down her cheek while she glanced down at the ground and thought of Evie.

"Don't worry Sarah, I'm sure that Harry will be alright. He did beat the dark lord after all." He reassured her.

"I know, it's not Harry that I'm worried about. Well, it is,.. but it's kind of hard to explain." She told him while meanwhile Draco looked over at Snape.

"Do you think that he'll be alright? Harry, I mean. I honestly could care less what happens to Weaslebee." He told him while Hermione shot him an angry glare.

"Oh I know that he'll be alright." Snape began.

"How?" Hermione wondered as Severus turned over to her and simply just smiled at her.

"Because that's him coming out of the water right now." He told her while pointing over at Harry who had shot up out of the water like a flying fish.

"Harry!" Hermione exclaimed excitedly while she hurried over to him and Sarah's face lit up with excitement as well while she slowly started walking over to them and explaining to Caleb what had happened to her younger sister.

"I know how you feel actually." He began. "All my grandparents are dead, and my godfather Aaron lost his sister when he was a few years older than you. I wouldn't worry about it though, no matter what God's taking care of you both." He told her before smiling warmly at her and embracing her tightly.
