Chapter Seventy-Three: A Loyal Companion
Harry froze and his eyes widened with fear. His scar hurt more than ever and while he shrieked from the pain there was now an ugly man standing in front of him covered in a thick black robe. He was completely bald, and his eyes appeared colorless except for the fact that they could have been a very light blue, but where his nose and nostrils should have been were a couple of slits. Harry knew right then and there that the man standing in front of him had to be Voldemort.
He slowly turned and started walking towards Peter Pettigrew. "My wand Wormtail." He hissed and Pettigrew wasted no time at all before handing it over to him. "Hold out your arm." He instructed.
"Oh, thank you Master, thank you." He told him while holding out the arm that didn't have a hand.
"The other arm Wormtail." Voldemort instructed before grabbing his other arm and placing the tip of his wand to the dark mark and summoning a whole entire group of his death eaters. "Welcome friends. Thirteen nearly fourteen years it's been since we've all met and none of you have tried to find me, and Harry Snape and his family have been able to live freely without a care in the world." He told them while Harry narrowed his eyebrows and glared at him.
"That's because God's been protecting us from you, and you already know that my father will whoop your ass if you set foot anywhere near me or them." He growled while Voldemort quickly spun around.
"Oh yes, Harry Snape. We meet again. Your father couldn't lay a hand on me, and he already knows that. As for your precious God, He wasn't able to protect and save your friend now, was He? So what makes you think that He will be able to save you? The only reason you are the boy who lived isn't because of your God. It's because of your filthy mudblood mother who just narrowly managed to escape me as well." He began as Harry got even angrier inside and clenched his teeth while he continued glaring at him and Voldemort turned to look over at Lucius while he unmasked him.
"Oh and by the way that reminds me. Even though you haven't come to seek me as well, I'm awfully sorry to hear about your boy Lucius. Word is, he has romantic interest for a mudblood at the school. I had such high hopes for him as well." He told him.
"I know my lord so have I. Unfortunately, since he's currently under the care of my ex-wife Narcissa there's not much I can do about it. I won't be putting up with that rubbish with Brianna though." Lucius told him and right when he was starting to apologize for not trying hard enough to find him Harry spoke up again.
"Why does it matter whether or not somebody is muggleborn!?" He yelled out and Voldemort turned back to face him once again.
"This is what happens when you brainwash children with that stupid religion shit." He began. "It matters because magic blood and muggle blood don't deserve to be mixed. Muggles are worthless beings who can only use an imaginary God to save them." He told him.
"That's not true. Muggles have guns." Harry pointed out.
"And if that really is the best they can come up with without magic then they need more help than I thought. Besides, they have laws against it." Voldemort told him.
"Yeah, well they have wizarding laws about using the unforgiveable curses as well! But that didn't stop you from using the killing curse on my dad and trying to kill me and my mum and Cedric now did it!?" Harry hollered on the top of his lungs before continuing to glare and breathe heavily.
"Is that so Harry?" Voldemort wondered. "Alright, since you are the savior of the wizarding world let's see if good really is more powerful than evil." He told him before freeing him from the statue and Harry let out an "ouch" as he hit the ground. Then he quickly struggled to get to his feet and withdrew his wand. "You have been taught how to duel I presume, first we bow to each other." He said before bowing towards him.
"Never." Harry growled.
"Come on Dumbledore wouldn't be wanting you to forget your manners now, would he?" Voldemort questioned him before raising his own wand and pointing it at him non-verbally casted the imperious spell on him which he was totally unprepared for. "I said bow!" He exclaimed and Harry was forced to bow towards him. Then, before he knew it, he had casted the Cruciatus curse on him and Harry was on the ground screaming and writhing around in pain.
A few moments later that's when he heard a familiar roar and a flapping of wings. "Spike." Harry said with a gasp while he widened his eyes and saw him coming down out of the sky. The dragon had distracted Voldemort long enough to stop the pain and now was facing towards him and within another roar he blew a stream of fire at him. Harry used this opportunity to leap onto his back and that's within another triumphant roar Spike flew into the sky and just as he had been trained to do, swooped down and grabbed the cup with his talons and they were instantly transformed back to the front of the maze.
Harry didn't know where his dragon had come from, but at the moment he didn't care. Everybody started cheering once they spotted him and he heard the triumphant music announcing his arrival, but suddenly news had spread out amongst the crowd of Cedric's disappearance and now he would have to tell everybody what had happened. Tears silently rolled down his cheeks while he gave Spike a pat and a gentle stroke. "Good boy,.." he whispered. "Good boy."
