Chapter Seventy-Seven: Expelled
"I really do love her you know." Draco began. "More than I've loved anybody else on the face of the earth and I'd die myself before I'd ever hurt her." He finished as Harry nodded.
"I know that, but you need to tell her that." Harry told him when suddenly there came a chill in the air.
"It's getting dark." Draco said as he came to a stop. "Too bad we aren't seventeen yet. I can't see a darn thing and I didn't bring a flashlight." He told him as Harry felt his breath slow down and he could see it in front of him, he felt as if he wouldn't ever be cheerful again.
"We need to get back with the others." Harry told him.
"Why? What's going on?" Draco questioned him.
"This is just how I felt on the train a couple of years back before I got attacked by that dementor!" Harry yelled out before he started to run away.
"What? Harry wait!" Draco exclaimed while he hurried after him. "Dementors wouldn't come here this is a muggle community!" He shouted before following him around the corner and then froze and widened his eyes in fright while he looked up at the dementor that was currently attacking Harry's cousin Dudley.
"Expecto patronum!" Harry cried out with a wave of his wand before directing the dementor away from Dudley before Ron and Hermione having heard his scream came running and Hermione let out a humongous, astonished gasp while placing both of her hands on her cheeks.
"Oh no." She whispered before Draco quickly turned his head over to look at her and gasped.
"What are you doing here!?" He cried out before taking her by the hand. "Come on we have to get out of here!" He exclaimed while he started to run with her.
"What about Harry!?" She questioned him anxiously.
"He's fought off Voldemort three times I'm pretty sure that he can take care of himself! It's you that I'm worried about!" He told her before taking her back around the corner and then turning to face her. "Listen, there's something that I have to talk to you about. I didn't mean to run off before, I was just hurt because I suddenly realized that I loved you and then I saw you dancing with Weasley." He explained while Hermione just froze and looked at him.
"Draco,.. what did you just say?" She questioned him in disbelief as a tear rolled down her cheek and he stepped closer to her and placed a tender hand to it and rubbed it away with his thumb.
"I know this isn't probably the best time right now, but I said I love you and I sure hope that you love me too and want to go out with me sometime." He told her as she nodded, and a delighted smile stretched across her face.
"I do." She replied before he grinned back at her.
"Really? That's just brilliant." He told her.
"Oh I'm so sorry Draco please forgive me." Hermione pleaded while stepping closer to him and gazing into his eyes.
"There's nothing to forgive." He told her and before either one of them knew it they pressed their lips against each other's passionately and started exchanging deep and powerful kisses followed by quick ones and that's when suddenly Harry and Ron came back around the corner.
"Oh great." Ron began as they both came to a stop. "We walked right into a snog fest."
"Umm,.. excuse me guys? Don't get me wrong, I'm excited that you're finally a couple, but have you forgotten that there are dementors out here?" Harry questioned them before they both finally opened their eyes and broke apart.
"Right, point taken." Hermione agreed.
"Great, it's good to know that even though you're dating Malfoy now that you've still got your intelligence." Ron told her as Draco turned his head and scowled at him while Harry and Ron helped Dudley back to the house and Draco took Hermione's hand and they ran away.
….
"Are you absolutely sure that's what happened?" Severus questioned Draco and the trio once they were inside his living room. For Harry had just received an owl that he was expelled from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
"Yeah. We saw the whole entire thing." Draco began as he took Hermione by the hand. "Harry was only defending his cousin." He explained.
"Which means that we know the truth and it wouldn't be fair to expel him." Hermione began. "For the wizarding law clearly states that underage magic can be used in life threatening situations." She finished as Severus nodded at her.
"I know." He began. "And don't worry, I won't let them get away with this. There's one thing that I don't understand though. Harry has never purposely used underage magic before, and expulsion isn't usually used on a first-time offense." He said when suddenly Sarah entered the room with a sheepish expression on her face.
"I think I know why." She began. "You remember when I performed underage magic last year at the Weasley's? It's with Harry's wand because I couldn't find my own." She confessed before Harry angrily turned to her.
"Great! So I'm in this mess because of you! Thanks a lot! Some sister you are!" He hollered before he ran upstairs and slammed his bedroom door and Sarah burst into tears and hurried to her bedroom as well.
"That went well." Hermione said sarcastically as Draco heaved a sigh.
"That's how brothers and sisters act towards one another sometimes. Tell you what, Weasley and I will go talk to Harry and you can go talk to Sarah. We're Harry's closest friends and Sarah could use a big sister figure right now." He told her before she nodded and turned to him and placing a hand to his cheek kissed him passionately in which he returned.
"Good idea, I'll be right back." She told him before kissing him again and then went after Sarah.
