October 6th Davenport Lab (Maddie's POV)-

I was waiting in the lab for Chase, Adam, and Bree to come home. They had just gone out to help protect an island from a tropical storm. Working on my plans for a new invention that Davenport was gonna let me sell to his buyers.

"Great job guys! You saved that island from the biggest tropical storm in decades." Davenport said, bringing my attention to their arrival.

"And lucky for you, I brought home a whole bag of hairy fruit." Adam said dropping a bag full of coconuts on the cyber desk. Chase came over to me and gave me a kiss on the top of the head. Recently Chase has been giving me a lot more physical contact lately. I wasn't complaining about it, he rubbed my shoulders as I continued to work. I placed my hand on his letting him know that I was getting up.

"Yeah, just be happy I made him put the pelican back." Bree said and Chase and I joined them at the cyber desk. He put his arm around my waist and I leaned my head against his shoulder.

"Guys, that mission was the finest use of bionics to date. I think we can all agree that strength plus speed equals success." Chase's face fell when Davenport clearly left him out.

"Uh, excuse me. Let's not forget the mastermind behind this whole thing." He fought.

"Oh, right. Let's give it up for our fearless leader..." Adam said, looking at Chase. "Mr. Davenport!"

"What? No, I was talking about me! I supervised the whole mission." I objected. Adam gave him a look.

"Yeah, but I think we all know who did the heavy lifting. Look, I'll give you a hint: Starts with an 'A', ends with an 'M', there's a big 'da' in the middle. Okay guys, it's me." Adam smiled.

"Please, the real work happened up here." Chase said pointing to his head with the hand that wasn't around my waist.

"Chase, no offence," she stared "but your bionic brain in no match for our hustle..."

"...and muscle." Adam added. Davenport grinned.

"Oh, that's a great team name! Hustle, muscle and... Don't worry, we'll find you an 'ustle'." Davenport explained awkwardly.

"I just get so tired of these two getting all of the attention because they have Super Speed and Super Strength. I never get any of the credit." Chase was right. He hardly got any of the glory.

"That is not true Chase, they just have a lot of flash, but you're the glue that holds that flash together, you're..." Don't say it. "Flash glue." He said it.

"I'm flash glue?!" Chase exclaimed.

Adam finally was able to crack open the coconut by cracking it against his skull. "Hey, I think I figured it out. You're right Chase, the real work does happen up here."

Davenport and Leo left to go work on a report for the mission and Bree and Adam left to unload their gear.

"Can you believe them?" Chase groaned.

"No. They were wrong." He sat down in the desk chair and pulled me into his lap. "You're not flash glue you're so much more than that." I placed a soft kiss on his forehead and moved to get up but his grip on my waist tightened.

"You missed." he pouted and pointed to his lips. I gave him a quick kiss before moving back to my work.

"What are you working on?" He asked, coming behind me.

"It's my new prototype for prosthetics. It uses nano-particles to create a life-like body part that can connect to a person's brain waves and move however they want." I explained.

"That sounds really cool." He said as he walked back over to me and placed his head on my shoulder as he wrapped around me. "How are you doing though? Any nightmares?"

"Not for a few days." I smiled and he kissed my cheek. "Not that I don't love the mission suit but don't you want to change?"

"Oh, you like it?" I laughed as Chase started leaving soft kisses down my neck.

"Well who do you think made them? And I love this but I need to work. My presentation is in four days and I need to finish the product design." I shrugged Chase away.

"Fine. Fine, focus on your work. Love you Madds." Chas said as he left the room.

. . .

"Okay guys, say hello to my latest invention, the Cryo-blaster!" Davenport paused waiting for a reaction. "This thing can freeze anything in a nanosecond."

"Bravo, Big D. You invented ice." Leo said dryly.

"No! I invented a way for astronauts to travel to distant galaxies while frozen in suspended animation." He fought. It was cool and Leo was really over simplifying it but I already knew about it to I wasn't super impressed.

"That's a fancy way of saying space ice." I rolled my eyes at Leo as Chase started drawing shapes on the back of my hand with his thumb.

"Alright, here. Let me demonstrate. You guys might want to step back because the ray from the Cryo-blaster freezes everything it touches." We all stepped away from the cyber desk and Davenport froze Adam's cup.

"Can someone please tell this dude he's making ice?" Leo groaned.

"Every space program in the world is going to want one of these. I just need the element to fuel them, Citanium." Davenport explained. "I'm sending you on a mission to the most remote part of Antarctica."

"As opposed to bustling downtown Antarctica?" Bree asked dryly.

"No worries, Mr. Davenport. We've been to way worse places than Antarctica." Chase said confidently.

"Yeah, remember Bakersfield?" Adam groaned and we all shuddered at the memory.

"Look, with your bionics you should be able to swoop in-" Davenport was cut off by a loud alarm. "Oh no, there's a massive storm heading into the same location as the Citanium."

"So, who cares? We just go with the storm." Chase shrugged, but his blind confidence was starting to worry me.

"No, it's too dangerous. I can't believe this. I'm going to have to call off the mission." I felt some tension leave my shoulders.

"What? No, there's plenty of time before the center of the storm hits." Chase fought.

"It's just not worth the risk." Davenport said shutting Chase down. "I just hope the storm doesn't collapse the glacier."

"But if that happens, you'll lose the Citanium forever." Why did Chase insist on going on this mission?

"I know." Davenport left the lab, disappointed.

"But we can do this." Chase called after him.

"Stand down, flash-glue. You heard the man. No one's going, not even hustle and muscle." Bree teased.

"Yeah, and muscle could use some help!" Adam pleaded. His tongue was frozen to the block of ice. Bree ripped the ice block away from his mouth.

"Ow, that hurts. Great, now I need some ice." I rolled my eyes at him when he stuck the ice block back to his tongue.

"Ah, that is so much better." Adam mumbled against the ice. He walked out and Bree followed.

"I'm gonna head home. Alex wants me to start eating dinner with him more so he can see how I'm doing." I grabbed my bag. "And remember, you are extremely important to this team and especially to me. I love you, alright?"

"Yeah you're right." He brought me in for a hug and gave me a loving kiss. "I love you too. Get home safe alright."

I gave him one more kiss on the cheek before I left.

. . .

After everything that happened Alex wanted to make sure that I was doing okay. We started hanging out more and spending more time together. Alex was making dinner for us because he claimed "if I let you cook I'd be signing my own death certificate." I was with him on the couch when I got a call from Bree.

"Hey Bree. What's up?"

"Have you heard from chase?" Bree asked, her voice was stressed.

"Not since I left. Why is everything okay?" I sat up and I could feel my palms beginning to sweat.

"No. We haven't seen him since you left. Will you come help us look for him?" She asked, I was already grabbing my shoes.

"Yeah I'm on my way. Bye." I hung up the phone and grabbed my purse. "I'm leaving Alex! The Davenports need my help."

"Be safe! Come home soon!" Alex called after me but I was already out the door.

Davenport Lab (Maddie's POV)-

"Hey have you heard anything yet?" I asked running down into the lab.

"No, I've looked all over mission creek. We can't find him." Bree said.

"Are you sure we didn't miss him? He is pretty small." Adam mused.

"Are you really teasing him right now?! Chase is missing! He could be dead and you're making short jokes?" I screamed. My stomach was churning and my hands were shaking.

"I didn't mean it Maddie." Adam put his hands up in surrender. "Chase is gonna be fine, okay? I promise we'll get him home safe." He comforted me. Bree gave him a weird look not knowing this side of Adam.

Suddenly Davenport enter the lab. Bree turned her attention towards him. "Hey. Mr. Davenport, have you seen Chase? He's not answering his phone, and his mission suit and gear are gone."

"What?" Worry took over the look on his face. He look at me for any answer.

"I have no idea where he is either, Bree called me asking for help." I explained as my voice broke. Adam put a hand on my shoulder trying to comfort me.

"Get him on the comm set now." Davenport commanded.

"Got him." Bree said pulling up the signal.

"Chase, where are you?" Davenport asked over the sound of heavy wind coming through.

"I'm at the cytanium site." He answered. I let out a sob as my hands started shaking. Why would he put himself in so much danger?

"What? I told you it was too dangerous. What are you doing?" Davenport asked.

"I'm proving that even without super strength and super speed, I can still get the job done." Chase explained. I started feeling nauseous again as an alarm started blaring. The map showed a storm heading straight towards Chase.

"You're about to be trapped by a major storm. Get out of there now!" Davenport commanded.

"It's okay, Mr. Davenport. I'm almost done. I just have to get the last of the samples." I wanted to beg and plead for him to come home but I could get anything out.

"No. Abort and seek shelter. That's an order. That storm-" Davenport was cut off by a loud rumbling sound over the comm set. "What was that noise?" He asked.

Instead of an answer all we got was a loud scream and then silence. My heart started racing even faster. "What happened?" I finally got out.

"Chase? Chase!" Davenport called, but there was no answer.

"There was a major avalanche at Chase's coordinates." Bree explained and at her words the room began to spin. I could hardly hear the rest of the conversion as the world crashed down around me.

I saw Davenport say something to Adam and Bree before the two of them ran out. My legs gave out and I crashed to the ground.

"Maddie? Oh my gosh! Maddie!" Davenport ran over to me and sat me up. I was sobbing uncontrollably and I couldn't breath. Panic attack. I needed Chase but Chase was gone, the only other person who could help was Alex.

"A- a- al- ale- ex-" I tried but I couldn't form words.

"You want Alex?" He asked and I nodded I was still hyperventilating and I felt like there was no oxygen left in the room. Chase would help me. But Chase is gone. Chase is gone. It kept repeating in my head like a mantra. The churning in my stomach got worse so I ran to the bathroom and I lost my lunch.

Davenport had called Alex when I left the room and he came over right away. He barged into the bathroom and found me in a mess of tears and sweat on the floor.

"Hey. Hey. Everything is gonna be okay. Chase might still be alive. Adam and Bree went to find him." He explained slowly and my sobs died down a bit but I still couldn't breath. "Did you try your breathing exercises?"

"N- n- n- n-" I tried but it wouldn't come out.

"It's okay. I understand. Can you try and breathe with me?" He guided me through the exercises chase taught him and after about ten minutes of trying we finally got to a place where I could control my breathing. I buried myself in his arms still crying just not as hard anymore.

"Munchkin, I'm so sorry you have to go through this." He rubbed my back. "But there's still a chance that he's alive. You want to go see?"

"I don't know if I can." I cried.

"Okay. We don't have to. We can stay right here." He moved to sit against the wall with me and I leaned on his shoulder.

"Can we talk? I don't really want to think right now." I said quietly.

"Yeah. Have you been thinking about college? You are a junior now." He said and it were any other time I'd laugh.

"Yeah I have. I think it's definitely something I want to do." I explained.

"Yeah?" He smiled.

"Mmhm. I want to study engineering and maybe go for a full job at Davenport industries." Tears continued to roll down my face but my breathing was back to normal.

"Maddie?" Bree called as she knocked on the door. "We're back. Are you okay?"

Alex gave me a look and I nodded. We stood up and headed for the door. Adam, Bree, and Davenport were all waiting for us.

"Oh Maddie." Bree pulled me into a hug the minute she saw me.

"What did you guys find?" I asked, my last bit of hope barely hanging on.

"We had to leave before we could find anything." Adam explained as we headed back to the lab.

"Don't give up, guys. There's still a chance we can find him." Davenport said. At this point I was just trying to hold myself together. It wasn't until Alex nudged me that I looked up to find, "Chase!"

"You're alive!" Bree cheered.

I smiled and began to step forward but Alex stopped me. I looked up to see Douglas coming out from behind Chase.

"It's Evil Uncle Daddy!" Adam said, bringing his act back up. Every piece of my body told me to run, get away from Douglas. But that would mean leaving Chase too, and I couldn't do that. My hands began shaking once again and I worked hard to keep my breathing under control.

"Back away from him, Chase." Davenport said coldly.

"It's too late, Donald. He's with me now." The evil scientist laughed, I looked at Chase to see if his words were true. Chase refused to meet my eyes, would he really join the man who tormented me? My head began spinning again and my tears flowed freely.

"Chase, what is he talking about?" Bree asked.

"It's true. I've finally taken back what was stolen from me!" Douglas exclaimed.

Leo ran in, right past Douglas and spoke straight to Davenport. "All right, Big D. I know I'm not supposed to touch your stuff, but you know how sometimes things happen, and sometimes things happen when you really don't want to them happen and that just happens to be what just happened. Upstairs." He rambled. "Hey what's up with Maddie?" He asked when he finally started taking information in. Davenport just pointed at Douglas. "Ah!"

"Whatever you're up to, Douglas, you're not gonna get away with it." Davenport fought.

"I just did. The download's finished! I now have the power to give Chase all three bionic abilities. And now no one will be able to stop us!" He laughed maniacally.

"Actually, they can." Wait? What? "That USB drive you're holding is completely useless." My heart skipped a beat and Chase sent me a look to reassure me, and probably himself.

"What?! Well, then what just took an hour and a half to download?!" Douglas exclaimed.

"A list of everything Adam's ever eaten." Chase smirked. Oh that smirk that I loved so much. The room stopped spinning and I was able to get my breath back under control but I was still shedding tears and extremely tense.

"Not my Incredible Edibles!" Adam exclaimed.

"You double-crossed me!" Douglas was angry and disappointed in his son.

"Did you really think I would betray my own family?" Chase huffed.

"Well, it's always worked for me." Douglas added.

"Even if you could offer me every ability there is, I would never go to your side. We're a team. And teams never quit on each other." By now I was smiling from ear to ear.

"All right! You got me!" Douglas threw his hands up in surrender and laughed. "What do you say we just...put this all behind us and get down to the business of healing this family? Am I right? Bring it in, people. Let's hug it out!"

"Well, you know what they say...If you can't join 'em... " Douglas pulled out a blaster and aimed it directly at me.

Chase took the cryo-blaster from Leo. "Get down!" He froze Douglas before he could shoot us.

"Wow! You froze him! Um...Now, how exactly would someone go about unfreezing someone?" Leo took the device. "Cause it is not the button located here, here, here, here or here."

Before another word could be said I ran straight to Chase and jumped into his arms. I gave him one of the most passionate kisses we've ever shared before breaking apart and repeatedly hitting him in the chest. "NEVER EVER DO THAT TO ME AGAIN CHASE HENRY DAVENPORT!" He caught my hands stopping me from doing anything else and pulled me in for a hug. I stayed with my ear against his chest listening to his heartbeat.

"Mr. Davenport, I'm really sorry. I know that I should've warned you about Douglas. I just knew that if I could get him back here, then we could trap him for good." He explained as I was still tightly wrapped around him.

"Good work, Chase. You make a great double agent." Davenport praised. "But maybe give Maddie a heads up next time."

"Thank you. Oh, and I almost forgot." He pulled a bag out from his pocket and gave it to Davenport. "Here's your cytanium."

"Oh! Money, money, money, money, money!" Davenport cheered. "I'm sorry. I mean, thank you."

"So, what are we gonna do with frozen Uncle Dougie?" Bree asked.

"I don't know- We could probably ship him off to one of my offshore facilities. Or we could get some rock salt and make the evilest batch of ice cream ever!" Davenport joked and Adam hummed.

"Speaking of the "unfreeze" button..." Leo tried.

"We weren't speaking of the unfreeze button." Chase said I tightened my arms around him almost making sure that he was really here.

"Well, we probably should." Leo said.

"Leo what did you do?" Bree asked.

"It would probably be easier to show than tell." He winced.

"Fine." Davenport groaned and they all followed Leo.

"We're gonna stay behind." They all got on the elevator leaving Chase and I alone.

"Maddie?" I didn't want to pull a way so I just groaned into his chest.

"No. I'm still mad at you." I felt him kiss the top of my head.

"Madds, I'm really sorry. If I had thought about what I was putting you through with this I would've found a better way. But I didn't and I was selfish. You're going through a lot and this probably made things worse so I'm so sorry baby." He leaned his head on mine pulling my closer for a hug.

"Less mad." I grumbled and he laughed. I pulled my head away from his chest and looked at him.

"Oh Madds, is this because of me?" I realized that I must have looked terrible from all the crying and throwing up too. I looked back down cause I didn't want him to see me like this. "What's wrong?"

"I must look hideous." I said as I pulled away but he stopped me and lifted my head so he could meet my eyes.

"Maddie never say that, it's not true. You are the most incredibly gorgeous woman I've ever seen. Whether it's today or when you're all dressed up that will never change the way I look at you."

"It's not fair. You're too perfect to be mad at." I whined and he laughed then placed a soft kiss on my lips.

"Does that mean I am forgiven?" he asked.

"I guess so." I hugged him again finally feeling at peace.

A/N: I am gonna skip Adam up and move to Llama drama but make it more of my own story. Please comment and vote! I want to know what you guys want to see. I have big ideas for Maddie's arch.
