April 8th Davenport Lab (Chase's POV)-

"Hey Madds." I greeted as I walked into the lab, Adam and Bree behind me. My girlfriend briefly glanced up from her computer to smile at me, then went straight back to work. I smirked and leaned on the back of her chair, peering over her shoulder to see what she was up to.

"Hey baby." Before I could see she clicked out of the webpage and shut her laptop.

"What was that?"

"Just some homework." She seemed a bit off but Maddie wouldn't lie. Right?

"You sure?"

"Yep. How was your press conference?" Ever since we went through everything with Graham we did very few press events, but we had one with Davenport industries in New York so we had been gone for the past few days.

"It was good. Boring without you there though. How were things here?"

"Not very eventful. Leo and I did more paperwork, Eddy was annoying, and I made a birthday dinner for Alex. Speaking of, I will be eating here until our kitchen is fixed." She said sheepishly.

"What do you mean-"

"Don't worry about it." She got up and patted my chest.

"Guys!" He exclaimed, running in. We all looked at him and his wide grin. "Alien Gladiators are coming to Mission Creek!"

Adam gasped. "I knew this day would come! Thankfully, I came prepared for the alien invasion." He exclaimed, rushing to where we kept our stuff. He came back seconds later, a tinfoil hat sitting on top of his head. We all stared at him while he continued to talk. "Chase, you hold them off while the rest of us who deserve to live escape!"

Adam grabbed Bree and started running from the lab.

"Adam, he's talking about the movie, not real aliens." Maddie said as she moved to lean against my chest and I put my arms around her.

"My favorite sci-fi franchise: Alien Gladiators. They hold annual fan conventions and this year, it's in Mission Creek." Leo added. He was geeking out.

"Oh, I love Alien Gladiators." Chase and I watched that movie so many times that he could recite the opening commentary. And he did. "In the future, rival alien worlds, the Morfs and the Zarkanians will battle over control of the galaxy!"

"Oh, I remember that movie." Adam nodded. "It was terrible; the whole thing was blurry."

Bree laughed. "You didn't wear your 3D glasses." She reminded him.

"Well I didn't want to look stupid." Said the boy wearing the tinfoil hat. I looked at Maddie.

"I bet the entire cast will be there!" I grinned. "I have everybody's autograph, except for that new guy who's going to be playing Prince Landor in the sequel, André Ethier."

Bree's eyes nearly popped out of her head then. "Whoa, back up. As in baseball superstar, André Ethier?" She questioned. I frowned at her.

"Since when do you care about baseball?" I asked, knowing full well that Bree didn't care for sports that much.

"I love baseball! You know...with the bases and... the ball..." We all looked at her. "Okay, whatever. André Ethier is cute and if he's there, I'm there."

"He is pretty hot." Maddie added.

"Hey!" I cut in.

"What? Look, honey, I know you're the one for me but it doesn't mean I'm blind." She explained before turning around and kissing me.

"They're bringing back the fire-staff challenge." He told her. Hey eyes brightened immediately.

"I'm there!" She grinned. Adam frowned.

"What's a fire-staff?" he asked. Leo grinned and grabbed what looked like a bo staff with lights off his desk.

"This is a fire-staff." He announced, spinning it around. He hit it on the ground and the staff lit up in a bright green color. Adam looked at it, unimpressed.

"It looks like a stick with lights." He pointed out.

"It's a fire-staff!" Leo snapped. Maddie grinned.

"The competitors fight each other with their own staffs." She explained. Leo nodded.

"And this year, the winner's going to get a walk-on role on the next movie." He continued. We all grinned. "And that winner is going to be me."

Maddie laughed. "Sure it is Leo. Keep on telling yourself that." She teased. Leo gave her a look.

"You think you're better than me?" He challenged. Maddie looked at him, clearly amused.

"Leo, I've been helping Chase with his bo staff training for a few years now. I think I have the advantage." She reminded him.

"Ah, but you forget who taught him to use a bo staff in the first place." We turned around to see Mr. Davenport walk into the lab, dressed in a long flowing cloak and carrying his own fire-staff, this one blue. "Greetings, good Morfs."

Maddie and Leo stared at him. "What are you doing?" Maddie questioned.

"I'm getting ready for the Alien Gladiator's convention." He explained. "I am Elder Lumina. And Elder Lumina will be victorious in the fire-staff challenge."

Leo chuckled. "Look, Elder-ly Lumina, I hate to get your robe in a bunch, but... that role is mine."

"Actually, it's mine. Don't kid yourself Leo, neither of you have a chance to win." Maddie snapped. Mr. Davenport looked at her and laughed.

"In your dreams. I've been watching these movies my entire life and winning that role will fulfill my biggest childhood dream."

Maddie and Leo looked at him. "I think childhood dreams expire when you hit forty." "Yeah but your childhood must have been centuries ago!" They both told him.

"Alright, back up micro Morfs." He raised his fire-staff and started spinning it around his body with an expert's touch. He had made a good point earlier; but Maddie also had years of combat experience.

When he was done, Maddie and Leo looked stunned and mildly fearful. "Still think I'm too old to compete?"

Maddie had the sense to keep quiet. Leo, on the other hand, couldn't help but make another comment. "I'm not sure whether I'm more surprised by your moves, or the fact that your dentures didn't fall out."

Mr. Davenport glared at him and Leo was smart enough to start running as the older man chased after him, his fire-staff in hand.

Mission Creek High School (Chase's POV)-

Twenty-four hours later and Leo was still showing off his moves. This time we Bree and I were sitting on the bench in the school lobby, watching as Leo swung his fire-staff around and around.

"Pretty cool, huh?" Leo asked after showing us another move. He nodded at the staff. "It's shiny because I showered with it."

"...Okay." "That's not weird at all." Bree and I commented. Bree stepped forward.

"Do you really think you can beat Maddie and Mr. Davenport?" She asked doubtfully. Leo rolled his eyes.

"Please. Once Big D starts sweating, he'll go blind from his hair dye." Leo replied confidently. "And as for Maddie, I'll just have Chase distract her."

"No, you won't." I corrected. He sent me a look, but didn't have a chance to object as Adam and Maddie walked down the stairs towards us.

"Alright, I'm all caught up on Alien Gladiators." Adam announced. Maddie rolled her eyes.

"They are great movies, but they're missing one thing; Space Dog."

We all stared at him. "Space Dog?" I repeated when he didn't clarify.

"Yeah, he'd be the perfect companion. Besides, in space, after he's done his business it just floats away." He suggested. Bree rolled her eyes.

"Hey guys. Sorry I'm late." Caitlyn greeted, smiling at us.

"No one was waiting for you." Maddie said dryly.

"Back off, Maddie. It's been a bad day." Maddie rolled her eyes. Caitlyn turned to Leo. "Cool fire staff. Are you guys going to the convention tomorrow, too?"

"Yep; we're even dressing in character. I'm going as Gigabit. Half human, half robot." To show her what I meant, I started doing the robot.

"And I'm going as Prince Landor." Leo told her. "Handsome, yet brave, yet handsome."

"Well, I will be going as the beautiful Queen Andromeda." Bree declared. Kaitlin gave her a look.

"Really? You?" She questioned. Bree nodded, looking mildly offended by Kaitlin's tone. "Well, it is a fantasy world."

"What about you Maddie?"

"Uh I'm not sure yet." She said. Meanwhile, Leo was still messing around with his fire-staff. He swung in one direction, then spun around to jab in another. Except Perry walked out of the nearby classroom, nearly being hit by the fire-staff.

"Watch the glow stick, Circ Du So-lame." She snapped, pushing the fire-staff away.

"Sorry Principal Perry, just getting my Morf on." Leo explained. "There's an Alien Gladiators competition tomorrow and-"

"Blah, blah, blah. I hate all the Morf stuff." Perry said. Leo looked at her, stunned.

"But Alien Gladiators rule!" He objected, holding up his fire-staff. Perry grabbed the staff and pulled it away from him.

"No, I rule." She corrected. "And that's why I'm confiscating this stick. No weapons allowed on school grounds."

"But I need this for the fire-staff competition!" Leo protested, trying to take his fire-staff back. Perry pulled it away from him once again.

"And I need it to unclog my toilet." Perry grinned, walking away. Leo watched her go, looking seriously peeved.

"But that's not fair!" He complained. Maddie crossed her arms.

"Then maybe you shouldn't get caught then." Maddie laughed.

"How would you know?" Leo asked.

"After everything we've been through do you think I'd go anywhere unarmed." We all nodded at her explanation.

Alien Gladiators Convention (Chase's POV)-

So, we were all at the event, all dressed up in our costumes. Bree's Queen Andromeda costume consisted of a long black and silver dress and a large crown. My costume was basically just a robot costume, nothing really special to it. As for Adam, he was wearing a giant dog costume, a clipboard in his hand.

He walked over to a group of people, grinning widely. "Please sign my petition to get Space Dog in the next Alien Gladiators!" He said. "He'll make a solid addition to the team, bark my words."

I rolled my eyes. "Will you leave people alone?" I demanded. "Nobody cares about Space Dog. And you look ridiculous in that thing."

"Space Dog isn't concerned with looks!" Adam exclaimed as I pulled my helmet off. "Space Dog only protects. And occasionally eats his own vomit."

I turned to make a joke to Bree, but stopped when I saw the autograph line. "There's the line for the autograph signing. I brought my action figure carrying case for Prince Landor to sign." I grinned, holding up the tin box. Bree glanced at me.

"You mean André Ethier?" she questioned. I looked at her like she was crazy.

"No, I mean Prince Landor. Who would want a baseball player's autograph?" I questioned. Bree sighed, shaking her head. Then Adam decided to speak up.

"You know what Prince Landor needs? A-" I cut him off before he could continue.

"If you so much as mention Space Dog to Prince Landor, I will roll up the windows on the space ship and park you next to the sun." I threatened. That shut my brother up.

"Hey, I wonder where Maddie is? Have you heard from her?" Bree asked aloud, scanning the crowd.

"Yeah she said she would stop by before heading to the fire-staff chall-" Oh my gosh was I lucky.

"Chase? You okay?" Bree waved her hand in front of me to break my focus but I couldn't look away.

"Hey guys." Maddie came up to us.

"Ah, that's what happened." Bree said knowingly.

"What happened?" Maddie asked.

"Chase got all spacey the moment he saw you in that outfit." She gestured to my blush and Maddie's costume of Paxida, the bounty hunter. (Maddie's costume below. Imaging with long hair. )

She nodded in understanding before turning to me. "Well you look very handsome. Giga-bit." An announcement rang for the fire staff tournament to start, "Have fun waiting in line. I gotta go." She smiled before running off.

Bree looked at me. "You really think she's going to win?"

I nodded. "Have you seen that girl with a bo staff? Maddie can be very deadly when she wants to be." I reminded her. She thought about it, then nodded.

Fire Staff Tournament Hall (Maddie's POV)-

I made my way over to sign in for the tournament and I got a lot of looks and I passed by people. I saw Leo and Davenport, the latter was warming up on stage.

Big D shrugged. "I'm ready." He grinned, turning on his blue-fire staff. "Let's do this!" He then proceeded to attack the nearest person, knocking them off the stage.

"The competition hasn't started yet." Leo informed him. A look of realization crossed his face.

"Oh." He looked down at the guy that he'd attacked. "Sorry!"

"By the way, have you seen Maddie?" Leo asked and I tapped his shoulder.

"I'm right here, Leo." I said as he turned around. "Ready to lose?"

"You mean win because thats all I'm gonna be doing." Leo fought.

"Sure you are." Leo had never fought me with a bo staff. If Davenport was my only competition I wasn't worried.

"Can all competitors in the fire-staff competition please come to stage and sign in." And with that, the competition was ready to begin.

. . .

There was a bit of time before the competition started so I thought I'd warm up a bit. I started with a few stretches before I went into a bo staff routine. I moved into a less crowded area and started moving. I lunged forward with my bo staff and spun around before doing a side flip and spinning around.

"Woah, woah, woah! What is this?" Some guys asked as he came over.

"It's me warming up for the tournament." I replied. What was with this guy?

"You mean the amature competition?" You have got to be kidding me. "With moves like that you can't be here."

"And who are you to stop me?" I shoved him with the end of my fire staff.

"The guy who's running the competition." He said spitefully.

"Sure you are." I moved past him. "You're not stopping me from fighting."

"I might not be able to. But they can." He pointed to the two security guards waiting behind me.

"Great." The guards pulled me to the conference hall security office that had a small prison cell. It would be easy to break out of if it wasn't for the staff member that was sitting right beside it.

I walked into the cell and a nerd in white robes greeted me. "Greetings good Morp! I am Mind-Melder, spiritual guide..." He looked me up and down and grinned, "And the most eligible bachelor in the galaxy."

"Shut up nerd." This could not be happening right now. The kid wouldn't stop staring at me and now I would have to waste away in here till the tournament was over. At least things couldn't get- you've got to be kidding me.

"You're not getting out of here until Mr. Ethier has left the building." The security guard told Adam, Bree, Chase, and Caitlyn as he pushed them into the cell. "So sit tight, nerds."

"Maddie? What are you doing-" Adam asked.

"Don't ask." I groaned Chase.

The weirdo in white jumped up before they could say anything. "Greetings good Morps! I am Mind-Melder, spiritual guide, and telepathic master!"

Bree stared at the boy, clearly weirded out.

"No, nothing?" Mind-Meldor asked, still looking at Bree. She shook her head and he sighed, turning back to me. "The Zarcanians have captured-"

"Not now, nerd!" Chase snapped. He turned to Caitlyn. "Look at what you've done! Because of you, I'm going to miss out on meeting Prince Landor!"

"Well so am I!" She exclaimed. "And now I'm stuck in here with you, Giga-butt!"

They started arguing then, only to be stopped by the nerdy kid. "Silence Morfs!" He shouted. "Halt this bickering, else I will melt thee brains!"

He raised his hands, pretending to melt their brains. Chase looked down at him, shaking his head. "Okay, it's melt THY brains. Learn your Morpian lexicology." He told him.

"Honey, don't." I'm a nerd too but sometimes Chase gets too into things.

. . .

We had been stuck in this cell for the past hour. I don't know how much longer I can take. The kid who insisted on being called Mind Meldor and Chase leaned against the bars and I took on of the benches. Bree sat on the other bench using her phone, Caityln sat next to her and was leaning on Adam's shoulder to sleep. She was snoring loudly and if she didn't stop soon I'd stop her.

"Great. Now I'm stuck in here with a bunch of weirdos." Adam groaned.

"Says Bree every Saturday night." Bree laughed more to herself. Mind Meldor went to sit next to me and I took the spot he had next to Chase. I did not want to be near that kid.

"Guys, look." Chase pointed out the keys that the guard had left on the desk.

"Oh! The guard left his sandwich." Adam somehow only noticed that and not the keys that were right beside it. "Chase, you're gonna have to use your molecular kinesis to get it for me.

"Or...I could use it to get the keys." Chase explained slowly.

"After the sandwich." Adam added.

Bree pulled Chase aside. "Um, hello. You cannot do that. If Mind Meldor realizes that the three bionic humans are in front of him, we'll become the convention." She explained.

"I've got a better idea." Chase turned towards the kid, he said in a robotic voice. "Mind Meldor, make haste."

"Is there danger, Gigabit?" Oh the voice cracks.

"Yes. Our Zarkanian overlord left his keys on the desk." Chase explained to him.

"Who needs keys when Mind Meldor can explode steel bars with his mind?" He pretended to blow up the bars with his mind.

"Quite impressive. But perhaps you could use your mind-shifting abilities to retrieve the keys." Chase tried. What was he doing?

"You serious, dude?" The boy asked dryly.

Chase nodded towards Bree. "Oh...I am the Morp Queen. Impress me with your mental prowess and I'll...be into you and stuff."

"Yeah, you will. I mean, your wish is my command, your highness." He smiled before turning to face me. "And what about you?"

"Do this and maybe I won't have a reason to hurt you." I sent him a sneer and Chase pushed me behind him.

"Yeah, also, see if you can nab that sandwich." Adam added. The, now flustered, Mind Meldor tried moving the key with his mind. Chase stood behind him and used his molecular kinesis to move the key to the kid's hand.

"Yes!" Chase cheered as we unlocked the door.

"I did it! I am Mind Meldor!" He said and awe, then he sprinted out of the prison. "Moooooom!"

We all walked out as Caitlyn woke up. "Hey!" Adam shut the door behind us. "What are you doing?"

"You betrayed us, and Morps pride themselves on being loyal to fellow Morps, Caitlyn. Later." Chase spat before we turned around to find Andre Ethier walk in.

"Andre Ethier." "He's even better looking in person." Bree and I gushed. Chase put his arm around my waist to remind me of who I'm with.

"Hey, you guys know where I can change? I got a game tonight, and I don't wanna make the mistake of showing up in this thing again." He gestured to his costume. "It's not very flattering on the jumbotron."

"I'll, uh, I'll tell you where the bathroom is if you give me an autograph." Chase offered.

"Baseball fan, huh?" He asked as he took the case.

"Nope." He smiled.

"Hey there, Andre, I'm Bree." She was a giggling mess, I wasn't much better.

"That's a beautiful name." He said smoothly.

"Thank you, I came up with it myself. Wait. No, I didn't. Who's talking? Hi." She said flustered.

"Uh, second door on the left." Chase pointed it out.

"Thanks. Space Dog. That's brilliant." He said before leaving.

"I knew it!" Adam cheered, Chase and I rolled our eyes.

April 10th Davenport Lab (Chase's POV)-

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Maddie was insisting that I use the new laser bo ability that Douglas gave me.

"You need to practice with it. This is still training." She grabbed her batons.

"Fine but if you get hurt we're stopping." She rolled her eyes as we took our positions.

"Sure, if I get hurt." She said sarcastically. She came at me and I activated my laser bo and blocked her first attack. She kicked off of my leg and flipped over. I tried swinging at her but she rolled away. Her batons were now a bo staff.

It went on for a while before Maddie slipped a bit and I took my chance. I knocked out her legs from under her and she landed on her back. I stepped over her and straddled her with my bo at her neck.

Maddie was breathing heavily. "Nice moves."

"Are you kidding? You totally slipped up on purpose." I rolled my eyes.

"Maybe I did. What are you gonna do about it?" She looked up at me and bit her lip. I couldn't help moving down to kiss her. We stayed like that in a kiss that was heated and sloppy.

"Eww! Get a room!" Bree groaned as she found us in the lab. I pulled away from Maddie and helped her stand up.

"We had one until you came in." I groaned.
