Chapter Ninety: The Detention

"So let me get this straight." Hermione began as she walked down to the grounds with Harry, Ron, Draco, and all of the rest of the Gryffindors and Slytherins. "The room of requirement is the room that appears when you're in need of it most." She finished inside a whisper.

"Yeah, that's the general idea." Draco whispered back when they finally reached Hagrid's hut, but there wasn't any sign at all of DJ and Spike anywhere.

"Not again. This is getting really weird that all of our teachers keep disappearing." Neville said but that's when suddenly DJ and Spike swooped down from out of the sky.

"Woohoo!" DJ exclaimed excitedly before landing on the ground in front of the class. Then afterwards Spike knelt down so DJ could dismount off of him.

"I can't believe that Dumbledore is letting dangerous animals onto the grounds now!" Gregory Goyle snapped.

"Now how do you know he's dangerous?" DJ questioned him.

"Because he's a f_ dragon!" Goyle hollered angrily, but nearly everybody in the whole entire class including Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Draco had their mouths gaped open and were staring at their temporary teacher. For instead of saying the cuss word, a foghorn had come out of Goyle's mouth instead.

"He did that without even using a wand!" A student exclaimed inside an astonished whisper.

"I see and just because he's a dragon that automatically makes him dangerous." DJ began. "So Peter Pettigrew was a Gryffindor, but yet he's the one who betrayed Harry Snape's or at that time Harry Potter's parents, how can that be? You see, as human beings generally do, you automatically assume something about somebody due to their stereotype even if it may or may not be true. It's been happening for thousands of years so it isn't anything new.

However, let me ask you this question Gregory. If Spike is so dangerous then how am I able to ride him and stroke him?" DJ inquired while turning around and gently stroked the dragon's nose as he closed his eyes and purred softly. DJ smiled warmly at him and then gave him a pat.

"You're like the Snape boy!" Goyle grouched. "You throw a sermon into everything!" He cried out as DJ turned back to face him with a super serious look on his face.

"So if Harry is so good, saintly, and holy,.. why do you think he murdered Cedric Diggory last year and he is lying about Voldemort's return?" He wondered.

"Yeah Goyle!" Draco snapped at him with an angry glare.

"I thought we were supposed to be friends." Goyle told him.

"So did I once." Draco began. "But a true friend wouldn't make up lies about another one of my friends. You betrayed me!" He exclaimed before he turned around and starting to walk away.

"Hey, he's skipping class!" Vincent Crabbe cried out while pointing over at him as DJ slowly nodded at him.

"He's dismissed because he's just feeling hurt and has every reason to be. Harry, Hermione,.. you're dismissed as well. You already know a lot about dragons anyways." He told them as they nodded before taking off after Draco and following him into the Great Hall and sitting down beside him.

"You okay?" Harry questioned him out of concern while Hermione rested her head upon his shoulder. Draco turned his head over to look at her and smiled before gently kissing the top of it and then resting his chin down against it.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just needed some time alone to think." He told him. "I hope James wasn't angry." He said as Harry shook his head.

"No, he wasn't. He completely understands actually." He told him.

"If only Umbridge were like that. Don't you have a detention with her after classes?" He wondered.

"Yeah, although I really wish that you hadn't just reminded me that." Harry told him when suddenly Draco got a rather sheepish look on his face.

"Sorry." He apologized. "Hopefully James made everybody who's been spreading rumors about you stop and think though." He told him as Harry nodded.

"I think so. He has a way of doing that as he's a pretty extraordinary man." He replied as he got to his feet before he heard a high-pitched familiar voice behind him and them clearing their throat.

"Mr. Snape,.." Umbridge began while Harry slowly turned around to face her. "Just exactly what do you think you're doing skipping class?" She questioned him.

"Professor James dismissed me." He replied while continuing to look her in the eyes and tried to stop his body from trembling with fright.

"Is that so? Well, that means you can serve your detention with me earlier than expected now doesn't it?" She questioned him as Harry didn't respond and just stood there silently looking at her. "To my office then." She told him before she turned around and left the room.

"See you guys." Harry said as he slowly started backing out of the room himself and both Draco and Hermione watched him go with worried and anxious looks on their faces.

Harry slowly entered Umbridge's office and realized that the whole entire room was covered in pink and all of the pictures of kittens on the plates on the walls were all looking up at him and mewing. Harry took this as a sign for a cry for help.

"Sit down Mr. Snape." Umbridge said from behind her desk. "You're going to be doing some lines for me today with a very special quill of mine." She told him as she pulled out a chair to the table in front of him where the quill and parchment was.

"You haven't given me any ink." Harry told her as he sat down.

"Oh that's alright, you won't be needing any." She told him. "Now, I want you to write,.. I must not tell lies." She instructed.

"How many times?" He asked her as he turned his head to look back at her.

"Oh I'd say,.. as many times as it takes for the message to sink in." She told him and Harry picked up the quill and started to write, and to his horror, as he did the back of his hand felt like a knife had been stabbed and the words he had just written were now etched into his skin in blood.
