Vilja Chapter 6
Íhuga - try to decide
A clear head finally emerged as the water cooled down her fever. With the fog gone, the sheer desperation to make him understand soon followed.
"Please Alpha!"
With one knee up on top of a rock his half naked sculpted body was perched upon, he glared at her. That cold, empty stare protruding into her. Neither angered or aroused anymore. Unable to read him, she shivered from the water. But it was his vacant stare that had made her begin to tremble.
"Keep ya rǫdd down" Katsuki said. "I've told ya before, I will not take a Saxon bitch!"
Indignation began to bubble under the surface.
"And you think I want some savage animal?"
"látið eigi stórliga yfir uðr!"
"I don't know what that means"
"Your arrogance will get ya killed if ya don't watch that sharp tongue of yours!"
She couldn't have stopped the words even if she had bitten her own tongue. "What I said is the truth, you are savage and you are an animal!"
The battering disturbance of the water was her first and only warning before he grasped her arm, pushing her down into the water on her knees.
"Don't make me leggja til með mund!"
She could not understand any of his words. Though she understood mund. Hand. He meant to threaten her, probably with violence. The aching in her body, from being pushed and pulled into her heat was making her see red. Anger boiled inside, giving her a new confidence. She shot her head up to face him head on. Maybe a mistake, she did not care what the consequences were. The pain was unbearable.
"I'm in such excruciating pain Alpha! Can't you understand?" She whined. "My head is clear right now, please!"
"I will aldri knot ya Saxon bitch!"
"I do not wish this either, but you must, Alpha!"
"Aldri!"
"Then I will not move!" She gritted her teeth. "I will not obey! Aldri!"
"Knýja!" He growled. "Stand!"
"NO!"
"Bacraut!" He screamed back at her as he gripped her with both hands. Hurling her body over his shoulder. She thrashed about, kicking and hitting him while he brought her ashore.
With all her might she tried to wriggle from his strong grip on her. To no avail. He was far too strong.
"You want to knot me! I can smell it! Your body, segja frá! It's revealed to me. I'm your Omega!"
With one swift movement her aching body hit the ground with a resounding thud. Her eyes closed right before impact and spring back open to meet his red, glaring gaze again.
"I said enough! Ya have no clue on such things, I won't knot ya! If I do, ya will know too much!" He shouted. Rubbing his forehead in an effort to calm himself, he spoke softer. "Ya'r still my Fangi!"
She cocked an eyebrow. "What could I find out that would have any kind of impact? I'm still a prisoner, you said so yourself!"
"Once an Alpha knots an Omega, they can sense each other, know things! There would be no more leynask! And ya are becoming my vili ...ya smell too...undar-ligr"
Her hand raised itself instinctively to her mouth, she anxiously bit her fingers as her face flushed. "No more Concealment? You're worried I would lead them to you?"
"Do ya ever want to return to the Saxon's, Mærr?"
"You intend to release me?"
"Hœgr"
"I don't understand…"
He just snarled at her.
"Get up, take your suppressant. We are leaving"
Snorting of the Saxon horses filled the chillingly silent air, breaking the pressure between them. Finally one spoke.
"Well, well, looks like we found the Lady" The leader of the ten men said. "Let her go Norse scum!"
Ochako opened her mouth, ready to diffuse the situation when a tough calloused hand reached around through her hair and pulled back against her mouth. Rendering her unable to speak.
"Move along, ya have no business here, lands-maðr"
"That's not what the old shopkeeper told us. Reckon'd you had a prisoner with you. Said you had a Saxon lord's daughter with you. Uraraka!"
Powerless to stop herself betraying them, her eyes widened in realisation. The old man had recognised her, she had no idea he knew who she was, visiting him only a handful of times before. Never did she think he would know her by name. Otherwise she would not have risked it.
Or would she? Could this be an opening to escape? To see her family again.
"By the look on her face, I'd say you're right captain!" A subordinate chuckled.
"I'll say it again, ya have no business here! Move along!" Katsuki growled.
Desperately, she clawed at his hand. She could still fix this. If only he would let go.
"Next time you speak Norse bastard, it'll be on the end of me sword!"
Like he had already planned out the next sequence of movements, he threw her to the ground. Before she could even react he was charging the men. Crazy. They outnumbered him ten to one.
"Katsuki!"
"Bring me his head!"
Swinging herself up onto her knees, she witnessed the captain raise his sword and swing it down to point at Katsuki. The men behind him charged full bolt toward the Viking. A deep, drawn out, harrow scream erupted from the lone warrior. She noticed the faces of the Saxon's washed over with white. They had heard the legend of the viking berserk warrior, fearful now they were facing one.
Katsuki had no fear, not even a hint of hesitation, his own horse running like a demon straight out of hell. Born and bred for battle. He continued charging the ten men and their horses.
"Sá er" Katsuki shouted, hitting the first Saxon knight. Steel clashed and rang into the air. "Svá sem straumr stœði!" Using his shield to thrash and distract his opponent. He sliced straight into the weak joint in the man's armour. Gurgling screams poured from the mortally wounded warrior.
Swinging his horse reins around, the beast artfully sidestepped the next assault. Both man and animal in perfect sync, Katsuki charged for another warrior who was trying to coax his horseback around a small bush. The vikings blood drenched sword curved and in a moment of distraction, impacted with the knights neck. Instantly decapitating him.
Emptiness filled her stomach, until her muscles began moving backwards, like they were retreating from her body. Filling her brain with pain. She bent over and her chest heaved, emptying the contents of her stomach onto the cold frozen ground. By the time she looked back toward the battle raging before her, Katsuki had ended another Saxon life. The remaining seven were increasingly becoming frantic, being led by fear and rage. Movements became hurried and rash.
"EK!" Katsuki boomed, stopping slightly to bear his teeth to the Saxon men. Drenched in their comrades blood.
Her chest rose and fell hard as her heart furiously pumped blood around her body, urging her aching limbs to move. But she was frozen. Torn.
Saxon men, her countrymen, lay dead and dying in the cold morning frost. But she only sat there, unable to take any form of action. For days all she thought of was escaping. Now, with the chance in front of her, she couldn't take her freedom. Why?
"EM!" Shield smashed into a Saxon horse, sending the warrior off balance. The Norse steel came from above, lodging into the enemies shoulder, crunching bones and tendons as it went.
Terrified screams made her grab at her ears, trying desperately to drown them out. Her family's faces flooded her mind, she wished to see them again. But chains appeared, dragging her down and pulling her to a life of complete servitude. Not even her body was to be her own, unlike a Norse womens. Who got to choose, who had a choice. Yes she wanted freedom, more than anything.
But which path led to freedom? Was that why she couldn't move?
"Sá er!"
His ear-splitting war cries sounded through her hands and into her mind. Encouraging memories to the surface.
"And ya are becoming my vili ...ya smell too...undar-ligr"
"You're becoming my desire…" She translated to herself. Looking up to see him charging two horses at once. "You smell too…. Strange? No, wondrous…"
Having limited experience in life, she had nothing to compare him to. His scent was overpowering. Completely destroying everything else. She had no knowledge to pull from, to know what this meant. But he had confessed, as much to her, that she was different from the others. An Alpha with multiple Omegas under his control was afraid of his own desires and feelings for her. An outsider. Here he was, risking his life for her. Risking his pack's safety, for her.
Only seven days had passed, and he had made her question her entire world. Challenged her values. She had an image of her life, of who she was. She was warm, and comfortable in her family's estate. Passive with being told who she was and what life she would lead. Until she met him.
In a matter of days he had pushed her over boundaries, ones she never would have crossed. Even though she was a prisoner, she was the most free she had ever been. Free to choose who she was.
Now she was lost inside her own mind. Hands transferred from her ears to her skull, she squeezed and let out an exhausted, overwhelmed scream.
"Eyða!" Katsuki's voice cracked through her aching thoughts.
She looked up just in time to see the blonde Norse warrior thrown from his horse. Three men remained, the rest were laid to waste. Rapidly Katsuki jumped up, holding his shield out in front of him and his sword in an attack stance. Perfectly harmonised between defense and offense.
He was perfect. Her Alpha.
Two knights came for him, both still on horseback. His eyes darted between them, his confidence never wavering. Blocking the first with his shield, he swung his sword to deflect the second. Slipping slightly, his enemy's sword bounced over and sliced into his bicep. Stealing a groan from the viking while his arm slumped beside him.
"KATSUKI!" She cried out. "Leave him alone! Don't kill him!"
The commander of the Saxons lurched around to glare at her, rage in his eyes. Traitor they blared wordlessly.
Her voice, acting as a distraction to the remaining Saxon warriors, gave him the opening he needed. As the horses circled back around, He sliced his blade into a leg, cutting the main blood supply. Red liquid splashed onto the earth as the soldier screamed and groaned. He would be dead in moments, too much blood had already been lost.
Katsuki was only a second too slow to deflect the next attack, a blade entered into the side of his pectoral muscle. Her gasps were muffled by his growls. The viking grabbed the man by his impaled sword and pulled him from the horse. A cold hard thud sounded as he smashed his shields edge into the Saxons head. Cracking it open, horrible squelching sounds emitting from the scene.
"You bastard!" The commander blared. The only remaining Saxon.
Katsuki swung around to face the man. Even though his own blood flowing from him soaked his clothes, his stance was immaculate. Never wavering.
"Fárbjóðr!" He bellowed, pounding his steel onto his cranium-cover shield.
Once again the commander's eyes darted to Ochako. "You!" He snarled. "Traitorous bitch!"
A wave of panic flushed her senses. That was it, no going back now. Had she really chosen a Norseman over her own self-appointed saviours? Had she missed her chance to find her family again.
"I...No you don't understand…"
"Oh I understand! You sat back and watched your own countrymen die for you. All the while your fucking this animal!"
"No! You have it wrong!" She said, tears welling in her eyes.
"TRAITOR! They will use you and throw you away!"
"Kalla!" Katsuki yelled. He turned to meet her eyes. "Frændi…"
Kinsmen? Her heart leapt into her throat as she watched his face curve into a smile.
"You whore, you will both pay for this!" The Saxon hissed, before turning his horse and fleeing.
"Stikla!" Katsuki screamed after him. Seconds later he fell to his knees, holding himself up with his sword.
"Katsuki!"
Her body, finally able to move, dashed to the wounded Alpha. Her Alpha.
Breathing took insurmountable strength. He knew he had lost a lot of blood. Laying down onto his back to try and ride out the shock, the cold, wet ground sent signals to his brain. Lighting up his skin again. He was close to falling unconscious when he felt warm, soft hands on him. His eyesight had blurred with intense white light, but he knew it was her.
"Mærr"
"Don't allow yourself to sleep Katsuki! I won't have the strength to move you back to camp!" Her voice broke with emotion. Was she crying?
He groaned intensely, hand reaching for his side wound. He blink and tried to focus, trying to bring back his vision. He looked down at his blood soaked hand, shit. too much blood. His face moved to the movement beside him, the Saxon was tearing off fabric from her clothing. Her fancy Mærr clothing.
"Mærr…"
"Tell me what you said, what you were shouting in Norrœna? Your battle cries..."
"Ya have to go, he might come back"
"Please, tell me Alpha, translate it?"
His neck and shoulder muscles released and he fell flat onto the ground. Realising she wasn't commanding him, she was trying to keep his mind focused, keeping him aware and awake. Sighing, he tried to remember his war cries.
"Sá er", mouth dry, he continued to force the words from his mouth. "Svá sem straumr stœði!"
"What does it mean Alpha?" She was across his body now, placing pressure on his wounds.
"He who…" suddenly a cough stung his chest, he expelled a cough from his lungs. Causing the little Omega to grab on tight to him.
"He who, like a rushing torrent…"
"Good, keep going!" She said.
Tongue pushed hard against the roof of his mouth and he swallowed. "Ek"
"Yes…"
"I" He muttered, his eyelids closed heavily..
"Don't close your eyes, look at me Alpha! Please!"
Clenching his jaw, he compelled his eyes to open. The little Omega eagerly waiting for his gaze. She was crying, the tears made her chestnut iris glisten like they were alight. She was beautiful.
"Em"
"That's it"
"Am" He translated.
"I am, yes?"
Busy hands pushed underneath him, wrapping around his torso tight. "Sá er"
"He who…" She replied.
"I am, he who…" Katsuki repeated.
More material was being stretched and pulled tight. His breathing became even more laboured.
"Alpha, please... "
"Eyða…"
Chills began to shake his body violently, chattering his teeth.
"I am, he who lays to waste"
"Katsuki" She sobbed, ripping more fabric.
He felt the wetness of the fabric sogging his clothes. She couldn't stop the bleeding.
"Fárbjóðr"
Ochako grabbed his injured pectoral muscle, and with all her might pulled him toward her. Placing intense pressure on his wound. He yelped out in pain.
"Destroyer!" She shouted to him.
