Check out Naomi's Gift, Melione's Curse by MikaRauch on Wattpad to see an awesome Original Story I am writing. This one comes with a lot of gods from all sorts of myths.

I am writing another epic story called Heirs to Misfortune on Wattpad as well, so check that out too.

And finally, a Hades/Persephone love story called A Dance Among Equals.

P.S. I just got Grammarly, which is really helping my spelling, grammar, and word choice so I hope you notice improvement...

Cole's hands shook as he held Bryce's wooden body in his arms, the attic's objects flying about in reaction to his rage. He wanted to kill something, to give into his bloodlust, to rip apart his enemies without his powers. What held him back was the sweet boy dying in his arms. "Piper, what happened?"

The most powerful Halliwell walked to him with a sad expression, she kneeled. "Someone is sending Fairytales after us, Bryce said Pinocchio attacked him. Took his soul he said. We had nothing to do with this, but we will save him. He's one of us."

"He's mine Piper." He growled, tightening his grip on the boy. "I will kill whoever did this, crush them with my bare hands."

"Wait." They all stopped, turning to Bryce. The boy had a flat expression, void of the stream of emotions that usually lay bare on his expression. His voice matched his state, empty of anything. "He took my emotions too, I can no longer feel anything. Will my powers work?" The boy sat up, turning to Grams who gaped. "Well, will they?"

She stuttered. "No... I don't think so, maybe teleporting as that is more mental than emotional... and maybe spell work and potions and scrying for the same reason."

"Good, let us hurry. I can feel my soul fading, my emotions doing the same. I feel very numb as it is." The boy hoped off of Cole, stopping only to turn to him. "If I die... he loves you, the whole Bryce. It is not true love yet, but the sparks are there. I would like to admit that, knowing it would kill him if you never knew."

Cole's heart sang and he smiled softly. " I cannot deny that I feel the same too... you trust me, you care for me, you never hate me for a past I am trying to get past. It is not deep or true but it is there."

"Thank you for that... maybe when this is over, we can go on a date?"

"I know a place we can go to... I'll take a week off of work, so we can just enjoy each other."

The boy smiled, and for a second Cole swore he felt the boy's emotions return. "I'll hold you to that." Then the boy shivered. "How did he take my soul at all, or part of it... I thought he needed to be a good person to become a real boy? I am sensing a serious telephone game thing going on."

Grams turned to the boy. " Telephone game?"

"You whisper something to one person, then they to another and so on and then the last person says it aloud and you see how much it changed. I think after being passed around, we lost what Pinocchio actually did."

Cole nodded. "That would make sense." He turned, as they all did, hearing the jingle of Leo's orbing. "Please tell me you found something out?"

"You're not going to like it, none of you are... what the hell happened to Bryce?"

:::

Paige vented the moment she entered the attic, only being stopped when Grams explained what happened to poor Bryce the moment she walked into the room.

"We never should have split up. No offense, Mrs. Halliwell."

"Grams." The Older witch corrected. " And none taken."

Piper sighed. "Yeah, well, if what we heard is true, then Phoebe could be in a lot more danger than we think. We all could. Especially Bryce, the magic that took him is siphoning his soul more and more, plus his emotions weakening his magic. We don't know if they get his powers, that would make them a real threat since according to Cole, he is as powerful as we are as individuals."

"If somebody's using fairy tales for evil, it could rewrite them, corrupt them for every future generation." Leo's worry did nothing for Paige's mood.

Paige asked. "How? How can you rewrite them? They're already in print."

"Every copy is a manifestation of an original, an original that was entrusted to the Keeper of the fairy tales, long ago for protection."

"The Elders think something has happened to him, that somebody took over the fortress from the inside," Piper said.

"An evil witch I might add." Grams added.

Paige nodded. "Why don't we just orb to this fortress and kick her butt?"

Leo finished. "Because nobody knows where it is. It's location has been kept secret, even from the Elders."

"Where was their infinite wisdom on the day that was decided?"

Piper added. "The point is we have no way of finding her."

Grams gaped at Piper. "Piper, I'm surprised at you. I mean, she's a witch isn't she? Just scry for her."

"Oh, right."

"Then after you find her, you lure her back here to us and we vanquish her with a potion."

Cole stood suddenly. "We don't need to... I think I know how to find and kill her." He turned to Bryce. " Earlier you said you felt pain in your neck, mystically. You said you could feel like someone was needing your help. I think it was this. We still have no idea how far you can feel. I know you've lost most of your powers, but maybe we can trace it back with a spell and then I'll kill the witch. That should end any magic she used."

Bryce nodded, then sighed. "I thought my powers were not working?"

"They don't have to be, when you felt it once it made a connection. That's how psychic powers work, meaning we can trace it back to the source. Can you think of a spell?"

The boy frowned, then a wicked smirk crossed his face. "I think so... but I think the sisters need to help or cast it for me. We don't know how much weaker I am." He turned to Paige and Piper, both of whom walked over to him, grabbing his wooden hands. "Follow the path pain left behind, help us gain peace of mind. To this witch, send my Cole. To stop this evil and restore my soul."

Paige felt a surge of power, Charmed and Bryce's power, wash through the air. In a swirl of witch lights, Cole evaporated before the lights dived into the Fairytale book. Paige's heart ached as that happened, empathy burned in her. " Remind me to apologize to Cole."

"Why?" Leo asked.

"It is obvious he is not evil, look at how hard he is fighting to save Bryce. I thought he was just evil, I guess I am letting my instincts get the better of me." She turned to Bryce, who was looking at her. "I'll try to be nicer to him."

"If I could feel fully, I would be grateful..." The boy sat down. " Just convince Phoebe, or I will move in with Cole. She pisses me off to a degree I can barely explain."

Paige sat next to him. " They have history, you can't just expect her to move past that."

"I know their history, but it doesn't justify treating Cole like a monster. She was more guilty than he ever was, hating on him for no reason is just... cruel and hypocritical."

"He's right." That, to Paige's shock, was Grams. "I peek from the afterlife, I always was bothered by how she treated Cole. He rarely did any evil as soon as he chose good and you girls never had faith in him. He sacrificed a lot for you all but none of you gave him back anything. Even trust. Even Prue has owned up to that after seeing him try to fight back the Source from within. Before you all ask, we were not allowed to tell you that so you could vanquish the Source."

:::

Cole didn't even stumble as he fell out of the Master copy of the Fairytale book, in front of a pretty older witch. "You, how did you get here?" She said as if she had any means of actually harming him.

"You hurt my friend, he may be sweet but he's also rather vengeful. I'm worse." He waved his hand, freezing her in place. What do I do now... oh, I know." Flicking his wrist, fire exploded within and around the woman. She screamed as time returned to her before she exploded into ash. In an instant, he felt magic surge around him, on various stands fairytale objects returned including one very ugly puppet. Turning he saw white light push from a mirror on the wall. An Indian man formed from that light. "You saved me!"

"Are you the Keeper?"

"No, his Apprentice. Or... " Cole followed the boy's gaze to an elderly man, dead on the floor. "At least I was."

Panic-filled Cole. "Does that mean Bryce won't get his soul back?"

"No, no, they were victims of fairy tale magic so when you saved the fairy tales, you saved them too."

"I guess this makes you the new Keeper. Congratulations... Sorry about your master though... "

"I guess so and it's fine, I mean I wish he didn't die but... well you get what I mean." He smiled. "Oh, when I was in the mirror, I learned a lot about you and Bryce, the Witch was curious about the boy since he could heal... I know he's part god. We have something about the gods here, not a lot but they are still tied to Fairytales you know. Maybe you can come back and help the kid find out about his powers. It's the least I can do really."

Cole gaped. " Part what?"

"God, it's in his blood. Only he and Leo know so far, and a Mermaid named Mylie. He never told you as the Elders would have killed him. If you come back here, the Elders are unable to see into the Fortress. This should make it safer for him to actually talk to you."

"I'll keep that in mind... can I just teleport out of here?"

"Oh yeah, and since you've been here just think about us and you can come back."

"Thanks...I'll be back in a minute." Focusing on Bryce, he faded away, appearing before a very human-looking, handsome Bryce who was beaming at him with nothing but adoration. "Your back, how does it feel?"

"Better, it's weird having no soul, your so empty and... kind of tired." He stood and all but threw himself into Cole, who happily hugged him back. "So, where are we going?"

"To the Fairytale Fortress, with Leo. I learned something interesting that might help with you with your powers." With a wave of his hand, he and Leo and Bryce vanished, appearing at the Fortress once more. The new Keeper waved at them. " This is the New Keeper, he just told me you are part god... and the Elders would want you dead."

Bryce cringed. "Yeah. I wanted to tell you, especially now but I wasn't sure if you could stop the Elders from hearing."

"I'm not mad, I get it, trust me. I remember having to hide things from Phoebe so my bosses couldn't hear a word." He smiled at Bryce, his heartwarming at the boy's smile. "I'm just worried they might hurt you if they find out. We are doubling your training. I'll go part-time, we need to focus on making you as powerful as possible. I just found you, I am not losing you."

The boy grabbed his hand. "You won't... so why is Leo here?"

Cole turned to a stunned Leo. "He knows that your part god, so he is going to help us protect you. Plus this way if I need to talk about your powers, he can help us. He cares for you, he is your whitelighter."

"I really do." Leo said. "So... any other reason we are here?"

Cole nodded. "We need to tell the girls some time, they can't be in the dark too long if we intend to keep him safe. I don't trust Phoebe to not say a word, she is bad at secrets... always was. Couldn't even keep my fake death a secret. We need something to ensure his safety. Maybe a spell to protect the information?"

Bryce smiled. "Maybe a Faustian deal of sorts? A contract to bind them to their words?"

"I'm a lawyer, I could write something up... but I need to learn how to make it mystically binding... that might take time. Thankfully I know Zhan, so shouldn't be too hard... so... do we have an agreement?"

Both Leo and Bryce nodded, and a pact was born to protect Bryce from the Elders reach and judgment. One Cole would do anything to make sure kept him safe. He wouldn't fail him... ever.

Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.

I am so fond of this chapter, I love the different routes to protecting my characters and ending it. Cole as an ally was so powerful!

Love, your Ninja Overlord,

Mika.
