From Shadows
On Earth, Clark had set up the Fortress in the artic circle for a number of reasons, it wouldn't displace or interfere with the natural environment for one thing, there weren't settlements nearby that could be harmed in case it was attacked by a hostile force, and it was hard to access by people without powers like him. However Remnant's geography being different from earth meant if he were to have another fortress, it would need to be somewhere else than the artic. Epically with Atlas being so close.
So Clark had to get a little more creative where the fortress was.
"Woah….." Jon said in awe as his father carried him through the air as he flew, passing a field of floating gravity dust islands of Lake Matsu. Clark smiled as his son observed the natural wonders, "I knew gravity dust was powerful but I never really thought they could do this." he said, seeing a few of these floating island containing vegetation on them.
Clark had his arms looped under his son's shoulders as they flew, Jon had managed to practice his speed by running to the edge of the continent but Clark had to fly him the rest of the way. "I was shocked to find this place when I first came out this way." Superman admitted, Earth had it's share of wonders but naturally floating landmasses? That was surreal even by his standards, the Kryptonian flew down below the floating islands down towards the water of the lake, "There's settlements on either side of the lake, but given the distance and the Grimm that inhabit these island masses, it became an ideal spit to construct the fortress." he explained as they flew down towards the water, Jon seeing a shape just above the surface of the water.
Flying down and getting closer, the shape focused into a platform that was a few feet just above the surface of the lake. Touching down on the platform, Jon noticed it was in the shape of the crest his dad wore on his chest. He looked over to his dad, "Not exactly subtle." he said jokingly.
Clark smiled as he shrugged his shoulders, "True, but it's not an issue if someone finds it, it's how they could get in." he explained as Jon looked down. The platform wasn't smooth, the surface of it was simply stone that looked to be carved into the shape of the shield. So if anyone did come across it, it would just look like a natural deformation. But he also noticed that there was nothing that could open a sort of door to the fortress, no lever, no knob or anything, looking to his dad he saw his arms crossed over his chest with a patent and amused look.
"Hmmm…please open?" he asked aloud, thinking it might be voice activated. Only for nothing to happen, "Hmmm….well I'm out of ideas." he said with a shrug of his shoulders.
Clark smirked before kneeling down and pressing his hand onto the surface, the ground lit up in a golden hue, the lights forming the outline and shape of the 'S' before splitting apart…with Jon falling through while his father floated up. "Whoops." he said before flying down, the entrance closing behind him.
Jon's arms flailed around as he fell for a good ten stories before he landed on the ground with his feet, his practice in jumping long distances had made whatever fear he had of hurting himself from falling nonexistent. "Sorry, I sorta forgot about that." his father sheepishly apologized as he landed beside his son as looked around them. The were the middle of a large chamber, the walls lined with light blue crystals which lit up the interior.
The octangular room they were had a few hallways leading out, feeling a hand on his shoulder Jon looked to his dad who walked ahead of him, "Come on, I'll give you the tour." he said as he walked down the hall ahead of them. As they made their way down the hall, a figure suddenly few around the corner towards them, Jon jumped when the floating figure in front of them.
It was a robot, had a torso but ended where the hips would be and narrowed down to the coned cylinder, it's outer coating was gold in color with purple lights glowing up it's base to keep it afloat with gravity dust. It had humanoid arms but only posses three mechanical fingers, the face of it was a rectangular faced black screen with a line displayed across it. "Kal-El, welcome back to the fortress." the robot observed, the line on it's screen wavering as it spoke and turned to Jon, "Ah, I see you have brought a guest."
Clark gestured to his son, "Kelex, this is Jon, my son. Jon this is Kelex, an Kryptonian assistant unit." he introduced.
Jon smiled and raised his hand, "Nice to meet you Kelex." he greeted, the robot looked at his hand before raising it's own and gasping it, Jon shaking it in greeting.
"You as well Jon. Kal-El, am I to assume you wish to grant him the same permission that you have?" the robot asked.
Clark nodded, "Yes Kelex."
"Understood." Kelex turned to Jon and a beam of light ran over the young man, the teen blinking as his vision was briefly filled with spots for a second, "I shall add your genetic data to the fortress." the robot said before hovering off to update the security of the fortress.
Jon turned to his father, "Your ok with me having free reign of the place?" he asked as they continued down the hall into another large chamber. This one was just as big as the last one, only the ceiling above seemed to be made of glass, allowing them to look up into the lake above them clearly.
Clark smiled fondly at his son, "Jon, your more than responsible enough. And you deserve to learn about your heritage. Which is why we're here today actually." he said as he walked towards the center of the room where a large console was located with various crystals where located. "When me and your mother fled from our universe to this one, I wasn't able to collect the same data crystals from my fortress of Solitude back on Earth." he explained as Jon and he approached the console. "However, I memorized most of the crystals and was able to recreate most of the technology from the fortress here. I've also worked to include the history of Earth along with Krypton's." he explained.
Jon looked at the console where there were may crystals slotted in place, but at the base there was a empty slot, picking up one of the crystals he saw writing appear on the side with symbols he didn't recognize. "It's in Kryptonian, I'll be more than happy to teach you it if you want to." his father offered.
Jon smiled at him, "Are you kidding? Of course!" he said excitedly before putting the crystal into the slot. Who didn't want to learn an alien language?!
The room darkened and the console began to glow, light projected around them into a hologram while Clark walked away, "I'm going to get us some lunch going. This might take a while." he said in amusement.
"….wait theres a kitchen here?" Jon asked after his father left to no one in particular.
Jon had asked his dad probably a hundred times about what his birth planet was like, his mother had told him that Remnant and Earth were pretty similar overall with the biggest differences being no dust, technology wasn't quite where it was here for the general public, no Faunus, and of course no Grimm. Krypton however seemed to be vastly different from either of the two of the worlds. It's history wasn't without conflict, in fact from what his mom had told him about Earth that seemed to be the truth for all worlds. But he learned Krypton was just more….well….alien to him as he found out from the holo recording his made.
He also learned that the Fortress of Solitude in fact had a pretty nice breakfast nook.
"-so our ancestor, Sul-El, tried to warn the government in Kandor about pirates. But they ignored him and they invaded the planet." he surmised before taking a bite of the sandwich his dad had made for him while his dad ate his own. His father nodded, "And then when your dad, Jor-El warned about the planet exploding…..the science council ignored him…..and the planet was destroyed." he said, making sure he understood.
Clark swallowed, "Well….yes…."
"I think the problem is that there were just some bad people in charge of Krypton." Jon said with a dry tone. "I mean…ok that's a little mean, I didn't know them but I mean…" he tried again, his father giving him a small understanding smile.
"Well when people who are in power hear facts that they don't want to hear, it's easy to try and ignore them." he reasoned in a more thoughtful way then Jon did.
Jon pursed his lips together, he could understand not wanting to hear bad news, but it was one thing not wanting to hear you did poorly with something like an exam or interview but it was another when people's lives were at stake. He wasn't in any form of public office but even he knew that! "But they're facts, I mean if there was something bad going on, I'd want you to tell me." he replied.
His dad chuckled, "I'm glad to hear that." he said before taking another bite, "I think it's just when your responsible for yourself, it's easy to brush the truth aside. But when it involves other people? And your responsible for them? You can't ignore it no matter how bad it is." he reasoned.
Jon looked down at his plate, "To be fair, if your learned Remnant was going to blow up, wouldn't your first instinct be that it's not true?" he asked.
Clark nodded, "True." he said before his head shot up and turned to the side.
Jon recognized the look of attention, mom would joke that he looked like a dog when he heard trouble. His father's face turned more concerned, "Um…dad if you gotta go, I don't mind." he offered, his dad turning to him and taking his attention.
"Oh! No it's…..well…..do you want to help me with something really quick?"
Jon blinked a few times, "Wait you mean with like….hero stuff?" he asked, excitement gathering in his voice. His father nodded, "Y-yeah! Of course! What is it?" he asked, standing up from his seat, when he was a kid he always dreamed of teaming up with his dad to be a superhero! "There's a hostage situation in Vale that needs my attention, but there's also a train being robbed in Forever Falls. I figure I can take care of the hostages while you stop the train." he presented.
Jon's head was nodding before he could think, "Yeah! Of course!" he replied readily, however as his father stood up from his chair his thoughts caught up with him, "Oh….um….quick question, how does one stop a train?" he asked.
"Very Carefully." Clark said, taking his son by his shoulder before zooming out of the fortress.
Jon's dad, quite literally, dropped him from the sky over the tracks as he flew onward towards Vale. Landing on the crimson leaves that covered the ground, Jon dusted his pants off before looking down the tracks. They stretched down through the forest for miles from what he saw in the sky, "Ok, I'm here…..so how do I stop a locomotive?" he asked himself. He couldn't just stand on the track and let it crash into him, first of all he didn't know if he was strong enough to take that without hurting himself. Secondly that could cause a crash, and this train was carrying dust, so he could turn a runaway train into a forest fire.
Hearing the whistle of the train in the distance, he cupped his chin in thought, "Ok Kent, think….oh wait duh! Disconnect the train cars from each other!" he said slapping his forehead before taking off down the tracks at super speed towards the train. It didn't take long for him and the train to meet up, sliding on his heel for a few dozen feet, he quickly turned around and matched the train's speed, running alongside one of the cars.
"Ok, so just gotta find where it connects and-" he started before he heard a torrent of gunfire within the car beside him! "Crap!" he exclaimed. His dad just wanted him to stop the train! But if there were people inside in danger right now…..
"Screw it!" he dashed ahead of the car he was beside and found the part of the train where the car connected to the next one and slashed his hand through it! Breaking it apart before climbing up between them until he was facing the one where the gunfire was coming from. "More powerful than a locomotive….right!" he said before planting his feet firmly against the ground.
The entire line of cars lurched from the sudden opposing force as Jon's feet, the wooden tracks flying up as his feet plowed through them while their speed began to slow. Within a minute, the train cars and Jon had slowed down to a near stop, the farm boy letting out a large breath. "Stopping a train…..this was pretty careful I think." he said, looking down the tracks, the only thing out of place was about the half mile of broken plywood on either side of the tracks. He nodded to himself, "Yeah, this wasn't too bad, now then, let's see whose inside." he said as he hopped up onto the connection to the car in front of the door.
As he was about to open the door, he heard a loud static like noise from inside before the door was blasted apart and he was sent flying down the tracks from a shot of energy. Bouncing off the ground he smashed through a tree, skipped across the ground, and slammed into a large rock, breaking apart the face of it. Sliding down to the ground, Jon groaned, "Uuuuugghhhhhh…..ok, that actually hurt…." he said as he picked himself up off the ground. His coat and shirt scuffed from the tumble he took. Looking up at the train car, he watched as a large robot on six spider like legs crawled out of the hole of the train with two individuals shooting at it.
One was a young woman around his age, wearing a black and white outfit consisting of black vest that was buttoned up with coattails over a white cropped undershirt with no sleeves with a matching pair of shorts, and black stockings that faded into purple the feet. She had long black hair along with a matching bow that sat atop her head. She used a weapon that at first he thought was a whip, but was in fact a long ribbon with a folded blade.
The guy beside her was a little older then her, he wore a more back outfit then his counterpart, with a coat, pants, and shoes that were all the color with only his undershirt and soles of his shoes being red, the same shade as his hair and the long blade he slashed at the leg of the large mech and shot t with a shotgun that doubled as his blade's sheathe.
Seeing the large mech fire at them, batting the girl away and hitting her against the train, Jon knew he needed to stop this before they ended up being killed. Looking around, he saw a number of the rocks that fell from the giant one he smashed into was on the ground. Picking up a chunk that was the size of his head he looked over the the robot, "Well I'm glad I played catch with Krypto so many times." he said to himself before reeling his arm back and launching it. The rock hit the back of the robot's head with enough force to make it stumble.
It turned around by the waist and saw Jon there with another rock in his hand, "Huh…didn't think much farther than this." he said to himself before the Robot's arms raised and shot at him. The teen zoomed across the tacks out of the machine's target view, the bullets ripping through the trees and the ground but completely missing it's target. Jon rushed into it's side and slammed his shoulder into the machine, knocking it over and toppling it before hopping off the ground and smashing his feet down onto it's head.
Jon turned to the pair who were inside the train with the mech, the young man had his hand at the ready on his blade, but the young woman was hesitant, looking at him nervously. "I don't suppose I could talk you two in to turning yourselves in?' he asked, thinking of what his dad would say in this situation.
The man's face that he could see soured, "You think I'd take orders from you, human?" he sneered out as he readied his blade. Faster then Jon expected, the young man was in front of him, swinging his blade down to his shulder, the young Kryptonian hybrid hissed as the blade cut through his shirt and into his flesh! "What?!" he barked in disbelief, sweeing that his sword has just cut along his shoulder! He had sliced robots apart with the same amount of force he had behind the strike!
"Jeeze man! I was trying to be civil!" Jon exclaimed before shooting a plam into the red haired man's chest, the force sent him flying back into the train's doorway.
"Adam!" the girl exclaimed before turning to Jon she raised her gun and aimed it at him.
Jon raised his hands, "Woah! Wait! I don't want to fight you!" he pleaded, the girl's amber eyes widened but quickly narrowed. She glanced back to the train out the corner of her eye before looking back to the black haired teen.
She….she seems…scared? he wondered as he slowly lowered his hands, but she kept her weapon trained on him. "Look, I don't want anyone here to get hurt." he said calmly with a shake of his head. The amber eyed girl blinked at him, her eyes looking into his own in search of any deceit, she glanced at her weapon….the gun she was pointing at an unarmed teen. It suddenly felt much heavier in her hands, and while he could clearly cover the distance between them and attack if he wanted to, he was instead trying to be calm about this.
The muzzle of her pistol lowered to the ground before an explosion went off behind her!
Turning around she saw a fire bloom in the carriage behind the one she and Adam where in, the one with the passengers! "Oh no!" Jon exclaimed as he ran past Blake while Adam rushed out of the train.
"Let's go! That'll buy us some time before HE shows up!" Adam barked at Blake, the girl looked at him with wide eyes before turning back to the burning carriage, her ears picking up the sounds of people screaming. "Blake!" his voice was sharp and demanding, making her wince. However looking back as the young man rushed towards the fires, a thought crossed her mind.
This was it. Her out.
She ran towards the train, Adam looking at her retreating form in disbelief, "Blake!" he shouted in anger before the sound of a distant 'boom'. He knew what that was, and it also meant the distraction in Vale was taken care of. He ran into the forest as Blake caught up to the young man, grabbing the steel doors of the train and tried to pull them open.
"They're locked!" Jon looked over to see Blake jump up next to him, "It's the security, we need to pry them open!" she said before lifting her sword and jamming it into the crack of the sealed metal doors to try and bend it open, Jon grabbed the door and imbedded his fingers in before pulling the doors apart, smoke burst out from inside the room, the fire was still spreading. Blake's eyes and lungs burned from the smoke, nearly falling off the car if Jon hadn't grabbed her arm.
"I'll get them, you just lead them to safety!" he said as he entered the car, the smoke merely obstructing his vision as he made his way to the sound of people coughing. Reaching a hand out to the wall to lead him, he felt glass under his finger tips, he quickly broke it to help drain the smoke from the small space. "Everyone make your way over this way! The Car door is open!" he called out.
He saw shapes within the car moving towards him, he used them past him towards the exit where Blake was, "OW!" he heard someone call out as one of the passengers passed him, stepping through the smoke he knelt down and found a older man leaning against one of the seats holding his leg. "I got you." he assured as he picked the man up and carried him through the smoke, reaching the exit to the car he made, Blake was helping the people get away from the car and over into a small clearing beside the tracks.
Jon looked at the people who were caught in the fire, they didn't look to hurt from a quick glance but what concerned him was their demeanor, they were all scared, that much was obvious. The way they looked around with their heads on swivels, as though some enemy would leap out and attack them to finish off the job. "What are we going to do?! Vale is so far away!" one of them said.
"It had to be the White Fang! This is what we get for taking an SDC train."
"Do you think they did this on purpose? They could be nearby!"
"Oh god I never should have left Atlas!"
"Where did those two even come from?"
"He saved us but what about the girl? Wait why is she armed?"
"Is she one of the White Fang that did this?!"
Carrying the man down the steps, Blake rushed over to help, only for him to bat her hand away, "D-Don't touch me you animal! You did this!" he barked at her before coughing again. Jon watched as Blake's amber eyes looked down in guilt, while she wasn't the one to set the fire, her actions were what led to this, Jon felt like he should try and defend her, but was that the right thing to do considering?
But even if he did it might upset everyone and call Grimm here with their negative emotions! But she also tried to help when people where in trouble, that had to count for something right?
Before he could decide, a gust of wind blew past him, the flames and smoke from the fire extinguishing in the train car behind them, Jon knew who it was right away and looked up to see his father hovering in the air above. His father wore a neutral look, not directed at him but in general, "Is everyone alright?" he asked as he landed on the ground.
Blake backed away from the man of steel, her yellow eyes wide as she saw him up close. Her fist instinct was to run, to try and get as far away from him as she could despite how useless it would be. But instead he was focused on the boy that Adam had tried to cut, "Are you ok?" he asked with concern.
Jon nodded, "Yeah D….sir, I was just in the area when I saw what happened." he said, the man of steel giving him a grateful nod before turning to the crowd of passengers, "Ladies and Gentlemen, I've contacted the Vale Police Force and they're sending some aircraft to safely escort you all back to the Kingdom, I'm going to stay here until that happens." he said loudly so that everyone could hear.
The dour mood of the passengers instantly evaporated, they let out sighs of relief and visibly calmed down.
As Jon went to set the man down by other passenger, Superman turned to Blake. She was a little girl when Superman first came to the world of Remnant, she remembered the way her mother and father both were overjoyed when he told the world of his origin, of how he came from a doomed world an infant and was raised to believe in Truth, Justice, and Freedom above all else. And while he was ready and willing to fight any beast or man that tried to harm an innocent, he would just as well spend time out of his day at debates, listening to the problems that people faced and tried to help come up with realistic solutions for them.
She remembered when she was around nine years old and her parents got to meet him, he came to Menagerie to raise awareness of the living conditions and even help with constructions of defenses for their settlement. She was a mixure of excitement and nervousness, only being able to see him when she peeked out from behind her father. He noticed her and gave her the warmest smile she had ever seen, and that became her image of him.
But as she grew older, his message of Peace and Unity seemed to ring all the more hollow to her, like they were just words from a fairy tale. And those were just stories, the world itself could be cruel and unjust, it could only be changed through action. Sometimes violent action, and it worked, people were afraid of them, and it got things done for the Faunus, they weren't respected but they were taken seriously and that was what mattered.
But seeing him stand before her, this man who could bend steel like it was nothing, who could hear a cry for help a hundred miles away and be there in an instant, who could walk through gunfire as though it was just the wind. She should be afraid, she was part of the White Fang and many of their ranks were imprisoned by Superman, she might even feel angry. Anger for the times where a faunus was mistreated or belittled or even worse killed, and he was not there for them. But instead when he looked at her with other worldly blue eyes with a softness to them that would make someone doubt they belonged to a man of steel, all she felt was shame.
"Young lady, are you hurt?" he asked with concern.
Blake felt her ears flatten beneath her bow out of reflex, that tone in his voice sounded just like her dad. Her arms crossed unconsciously, trying to make herself feel small, if he was here then it could only mean the distraction in Vale that Adam planned had failed, and he might know that she was responsible for this. "I'm…..I'm fine….thank you…sir." she said, adding the last part in a quiet voice.
She felt like a fool, what do you say to the man of tomorrow when you've been caught red handed? "Um….Superman?" the both of them turned to the boy who came out of nowhere who Adam slashed. "She…." he glanced at her and she bowed her head in defeat, "She was one of the people who were on the train, and her partner was the one who set the fire." he said, his voice paused before he continued. "But…she stayed behind to make sure that the people were safe." he added, making the girl look over at him in surprise.
She turned back to Superman who had his arms across his chest in a relaxed manner, "Well….it sounds like you have some things to explain miss." he said gently.
Blake took a deep breath, "I…..our job was to steal a shipment of Dust heading for the SDC…..I thought it was at least but….my partner planned to destroy the passenger carriage…I didn't know that he….." she trailed off, looking down in shame. "I didn't want anyone to get hurt." she said more simply. She felt a large hand on her shoulder and looked up to see the kind eyes of the man of steel.
"While I don't condone why you were here….these people are fortunate that you were." he said approvingly.
Blake smiled a little in relief before it vanished, "What are you going to do with me?" she asked.
Jon cleared his throat, getting both their attention again, "Well…..nothing was actually stolen, and you helped these people…." he trailed off, he glanced at his dad who subtly nodded for him to go on. "I think….maybe if you know anything about the White Fang, you should share it with the police, I'm sure Superman would be willing to put in a good word considering what you've done here today." he said with a optimistic smile.
Blake wanted to sigh, there was no chance-
"I could see that working." Blake nearly gawked at the alien's causal response. "But Ma'am, I don't want to have to meet with you under these terms again." he said in a more firm tone. "You did some good here today, but you were also partially responsible for what occurred…..forgive my saying, but if you want to help people, any people, then there's better ways then this." he said with a soft and hopeful smile.
Blake was 9 years old again, but this time she couldn't hide behind her father, "I…..yes…of course…..thank you….sir." she said, still saying the last part a little quietly.
His lips twitched in amusement but only Jon could see it, Blake didn't though, she instead saw what she had seen years ago. The Man of Tomorrow, someone here to just help.
Lois was less than pleased when she found out that his shirt and hoodie had been cut up when they got home. Tomorrow she was going to show him how to sew it back together since she, 'Already has to deal with his father ripping his clothes apart to change, she's done buying new ones.' The cut he got from the man in black wasn't too bad, it stung like crazy but after his dad flew him up high enough the Sun's rays made it so that the cut seemingly never happened.
He sat out on the front porch watching the fireflies begin to glow as night came to the farm, today had been an eye opener in the least. hearing the front door open, he turned to see his dad with a coffee cup in each hand, "Snagged you some hot chocolate." he said with a smile. Jon smiled back as he moved aside on the bench to make room for his dad, who handed him his cup.
The two silently drank their cups together, watching as stillness took over the evening, finally after a few minutes, his father broke the silence, "You've been quiet since we got home." he said.
Jon looked down at his half empty mug, "Yeah just….thinking about today." he admitted, "When we got everyone off the train, I saw how scared they were, and….I didn't know what to do." he explained. "And then after a while…..I thought of krypton." he said, making his father give him a confusing look. "I thought about how…..if everyone knew that Krypton was going to be destroyed, what would they say…what could they say or do that would make everyone think it was going to be ok?" he asked.
"And then you showed up and you knew exactly what to say to make everyone feel safe and calm." he said, looking over to his dad before shaking his head. "I donno I just….I feel like I failed." he expressed.
Clark looked out into the fields of the farm and smiled forlornly, "Do you remember when you were seven, and we went camping?" he asked, Jon thought back and recalled the trip they took to Anima for a vacation. "You wanted to learn how to start a fire, and I showed you how?" he asked. Jon smiled and nodded, take two sticks, rub them together to make friction, and BAM, fire. "My Pa taught me that, course back then I just used heat vision." he admitted, "Which your Grandpa then dumped water on to put out."
Jon chuckled along with his dad, "He told me that it wasn't about doing it the easy way, it was about empathy." he began. "It was important that I understand the struggle, that I could feel how hard it was to start a fire without my powers, so that I could understand what it's like to struggle." he continued, Jon hanging on to every word as he turned to him. "When I taught you how to start a fire and you couldn't do it the first time, you got frustrated too, but do you remember what I said?" he asked.
Jon thought back, being in the forest, his hands a little sore from rubbing two sticks together for minutes on end and with not a spark to show for it. He was frustrated, but his dad was there and smiling, "You said, 'You're not going to get it the first time, but you will get it kiddo.'" he recalled with a smile before looking at his dad. "Because that's what you wanted to hear when you couldn't start a fire?" he guessed as his dad took a sip of his drink.
"Yup." he said simply.
Jon thought it over, if he had been nearly burned to death in a train carriage after it being forced to stop….what would he need to hear to feel safe? "I should have told them…..it's going to be ok." he realized.
Clark smiled proudly, "Right…..there's a difference between telling someone what they want to hear, and what they need to hear. Those people needed to hear that they would be safe, that they weren't going to be hurt. And next time? You'll be able to do that too." he explained.
Jon felt a eight lift off his shoulders that he admittedly put there himself, his dad stood up beside him patting him on the shoulder, "I'm gonna head in Kiddo. Night." he said before walking back to the door and entering the house.
Jon set the cup in his hands down on the arm of the bench and looked up at the night sky, I hope she heard what she needed to hear today too. he thought, thinking of the girl who seemed to be more lost then he was.
AN: DAMN! Almost got it in on Superman day! Aw well, better late than never, honestly I don't know why I'm so inconsistent with updates, I love writing chapters like this with explorations of Superman's ideals and what he means to different people.
Anyway I'm not dead, just lazy. And between last chapter and this one…man who would have thought we'd actually see Jon become superman! I mean I thought they'd age him back to being a kid but Tom Taylor writing him as Superman?! Hell Yeah! Sign me up!
Anyway, can't wait to write more, now onto reviews:
Red: Well you got your answer! I had to get a little creative with it but I think it works just as well like it does here as it usually is. It's in a hard to get to place, not many humans can go there, plus it's kind of a fun reimagining.
Guest 1: Oh man I can't wait to get to that!
Rnji: Well…..not everyone. And I do get what you mean, I'm personally not a fan of Snyder's superman, to me he's just….well many people have their idea of what superman is. To me, he's a friend. Donor's version of Superman isn't my favorite but I still love the classic take on it, and Reeves…The only other actor that I think holds a candle to him is Tom Welling from Smallville, Henry Cavil would be great if he's allowed to be Clark Kent, but he's not really given the opportunity.
If you're looking for a better version of a human Superman, I gotta recommend Peter J Tomasi and Pat Gleason's Rebirth Run with Superman, it's the best modern take of the character since Pre new 52.
Also while not the most down to earth, Tom King's Superman Up in the Sky is a amazing character study of him.
Dracus: Buddy. I apricate it, but again, just saying what you want me to do doesn't mean it'll happen.
Guest 2: UGGHHHG Damn it. Why couldn't it be an easier name? Like Vale, Vaccuo, or Atlas? But no, we gotta get fancy with Minstrel. Thanks you, I'll try and be careful going forward.
Shadow-Proclamation: I have an interesting idea for a particular villain, and an original one, but overall I think for now I'm good on villains. Thanks though!
