I Burn

"Dad I'm not sure how I should feel about this." He said as he looked down at the Boxing gloves his mother put on his hands. The Beacon Entry Exam was only two months away now, and thankfully Jon had gotten the hang of his strength and Super Speed, he could now zip around the farm, turning on a dime with no problem, in fact he could play catch all by himself which was actually much more fun then one would think with super speed.

However there was something else Jon needed to learn before his attempt of admittance into Beacon. He needed to learn how to fight.

Obviously given his super strength he couldn't safely spar with regular people until he properly learned to pull his punches. So that only left one option, his father, "Your fine honey, I did this with my dad when I was learning self defense with my sister." his mom said nonchalantly. He wasn't entirely comforted by that little factoid, turning to his father he saw him shrug with a good natured smile.

Turning to his dad, his mother made some adjustments to his stance, "Ok dominant foot forward a little-" his right foot slid forward. "-and bend your knees. But just a little." he lowered himself slightly. "Now punching someone isn't always like it is in movies hon." Lois said as she stood beside him in a similar stance with Clark putting up his hands defensively. "Now there's a couple ways to punch, a jab is just a quick attack like this." she explained before jabbing her fist out into empty air. "Now punching isn't just your arm, you need leverage to make the hit actually hurt, you do this by putting your shoulder into it too. See?" she asked, showing the difference between the two with Jon mirroring her actions.

Clark smiled to himself while he watched, "Now, obviously what your mother means is that you can't go around punching people. Right Lois?" he asked in a knowing tone. Jon watched as his mom gave him a look, showing that there most likely if not definitely was a story there. "Now, I want you to give me one right on the chin, ok? This way I can get a good measure of how sting you are."

His son still looked conflicted, looking down at his gloves and then to his dad, "Um….I'm not gonna like, break my hand or anything will I?" he asked. His mom and dad both shared a look between themselves, "Ok that is not encouraging!" Jon proclaimed.

"You'll be fine. Now belt your dad." Lois said in amusement.

Jon sighed, "Ok, um. Sorry In advance dad." he apologized with a sympathetic look.

"Pre-Apology accepted." His dad replied before Jon drew his fist back. Clark watched in slowed motion how Jon's fist traveled towards him.

The next thing he felt was a slightly pressure to his chin as Jon's punch knocked him off his feet and through the air!

Huh. Clark thought in confusion he clipped their roof and landed on the other side.

"Ohmygod Dad!"

"Clark!" he heard his son and wife exclaim as he sat up from the ground, more dazed and confused then actually hurt as they ran around the side of the house.

"I am so! So sorry! I didn't mean to-" Jon began before his dad waved him off.

"Your fine kiddo, I was, quite literally asking for it. Besides, apology accepted remember? Besides, didn't even hurt." he asked with a understanding smile as Lois walked over, letting out a breath of relief upon seeing that her husband was all right. Rubbing his chin, Clark let out a silent chuckle, "Not exactly how I thought that would go." he said before standing up.

Jon looked mortified by what he did, it was just like their cat all over again! I didn't think and look what happened! I knocked dad though out roof! Great job Johnathan, great job! he thought to himself before Lois put a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, it was an accident. Just because your not human doesn't make you immune to them." she said with a knowing smile. Jon took a deep breath before letting it out, "Alright, Smallville, keep yourself planted, Jon, try hitting him again. But just bop him with your gloves." she instructed. He nodded as he once again got into position and readied himself.

After a couple more practice punches, Jon was admittedly feeling better and more importantly getting used to pulling his blows back. "Sorry again for getting you the first time like that dad." he once again apologized as he swirled his fork in his bowl of spaghetti that they made for lunch. Lois had to go to work in Vale to finish up her work on a story involving some recent dust store robberies in the Kingdom so it left the father and son at the house for a little while…..and Krypto too, but he was laying down in his bed fast asleep.

Clark waved him off as he took a bite of his breadstick, "You're fine so. Just didn't think you packed that much of a wallop yet." he said before taking a drink.

Jon looked down at his food, "I was just scared, I thought I hurt you and….." he trailed off, thinking back to Goldie and how he had accidently vaporized the small cat.

Clark gave his son a understanding look, "Jon, I understand that when you first used your powers they scared you. But you can't let that fear rule your life forever." he said wisely. "Don't forget that if you didn't use your powers, people could be hurt or worse from what happened at the fairgrounds and at the train." he reasoned.

Jon took a breath, "I know…and I've been getting better at least." he said on a positive note that made his dad smile and nod in agreement. "I just don't want to accidently hurt someone when I actually do have to fight them." he explained.

"I don't think you need to worry about that yet." Clark said assuredly, making his son look up to him. "When you were hurt by that man at the train with his sword, I was a little concerned." he admitted. Jon's hand traced over where the sword had cut him, it wasn't a life threatening cut but between his adrenaline going and how shallow it was, he didn't really feel any pain at the time. "While Kelex was making you able to access the fortress, he scanned your body against mine so we could see what the differences were." he explained.

"Before your powers first manifested, me and your mother assumed that due to you being half human and half Kryptonian, you could possibly gain powers similar to mine, or maybe not at all." he explained. Jon pursed his lips together as he considered what it would be like to not have his powers, just because he suppressed them for so long didn't mean that he just ignored them after all. "But obviously that wasn't the case, now clearly your not at the same level as I am, primarily due to your age and how long you've been exposed to the yellow sun."

Jon nodded in understanding, "Right, you mentioned that to me, that we're basically like solar batteries." he recalled from when his father first explained their powers.

"Right, and as I grew up, I was able to absorb more and more energy." he explained, "However what Kelex found with you seems to indicate that….well to keep the analogy, your batteries are bigger then what mine were at your age." he explained. Jonathan made a sour face at how exactly that sounded, "Which is due to you being half human." his father explained.

Jon shook his head, confused by the logic, "But wait, shouldn't it be the opposite? I mean if I'm half human then doesn't that mean that I should have less potential then you?" he asked.

Clark looked at his food unsurely, "To be honest Jon there's not much precedent for it, Kryptonians…..well for the most part they didn't interact with other races that much, and those they did, they…..well they weren't encouraged to start families with." he explained.

Jon gave his dad a small smile, "Hey, shows what they know right?" he asked, his father chuckling as he picked up his plate, "So, what's next? I mean I know how to throw a punch now, or enough of one not to seriously hurt someone." he reasoned as he washed his plate in the sink.

Clark sat back in his seat and watched his son clean the dishes, "Well to be honest, until your other powers come in? I think you can just practice what you have." he reasoned. While his powers were versatile, they only were that because of how much experience he had with them from when he was just a boy, experience that Jon lacked.

Setting his dishes in the dishwasher, Jon leaned against the counter with his arms crossed, "I mean I could maybe….get better if I helped you out more?' he ventured.

Clark gave him a look, "Jon, we've talked about this, you did well with the train but your mother and I don't think your quite ready yet to do superhero activities." he said with a firm yet understanding tone. His son's shoulders sloughed slightly from the rejection, ever since the dust train incident, Jon was admittedly excited to go back out superhero-ing.

However his parents weren't as gun-ho about the notion, Lois because he wasn't as invulnerable as his dad, and he because didn't feel that Jon has a tight enough leash on his powers yet to be thrown into the deep end so to speak. His son let out a small sigh of frustration, "I know, I know. I just want to help out." he explained. His dad told him about how he was already doing acts of heroism in Smallville when he was in high school, Jon was about to graduate and he hadn't done anything until now.

Clark stood up and set a hand on his son's shoulder, "Thank you Jon, I promise we'll go out again sometime soon. It's just it can't be too public." he said. "If the world found out Superman had a son, it'd raise more then a few questions."

Jon rubbed his head, Yeah like what's he been doing this whole time? Jon thought to himself. "I mean, they didn't question Krrypto."

"Actually they did, when you were really little? They thought I might have a whole Zoo of 'SuperPets'." his father said amusingly as he washed his dishes.

Jon chuckled a the idea, "Yeah? What'd you tell them?"

"The truth, my mother and father sent him in another space ship as a test to see if it could get to Earth." he explained.

Jon's amused expression was replaced with one of terror, "They shot their dog into space?!" he exclaimed.

Clark's expression became conflicted, "Well….yes…..I mean Jor-El knew he'd make it to Earth….but…I do see the problem with that." he said, leaning back past Jon to look into the living room where the dog was sleeping on his little bed that they got him a few years ago.

"That's…..that's kind of messed up." Jon stated.

While Clark set out to repair the roof of their house the next day, Lois invited Jon on a trip to the City of Vale. While Patch was just a fairly short commute to the City, Jon didn't often get a chance to go to since his mom needed their car for work and Jon still couldn't just run to Vale safely. So a trip was always enjoyable, especially since he was going with his mom while she was doing her job as an investigative reporter. "What does anyone do at a Nightclub anyway?" Jon asked as his mother stopped at a light and turned on her signal.

"Well from what I remember, it's drinking, dancing, partying, and probably drug use." Lois said nonchalantly, making Jon smile. He always thought his mom was more like a detective then a reporter with how she operated. Taking interviews, gathering evidence, connecting theories and such. And while she didn't put the cuffs on bad guys at the end of the day, she did something even more powerful, she spread the truth. "Speaking of which, no, you cannot come inside with me."

"Ok first off, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't let a sixteen year old inside a crime scene." he began in amusement. "Secondly, it's not like I can do anything, I'm not like you like that. Able to….you know, detect stuff." he admitted.

Lois glanced at him, "Hey don't sell yourself so short kiddo, I've seen your grades, your plenty smart." she praised, making him blush sheepishly at the praise. "And it's not like I just look in a room and everything that pertains to a story is just highlighted for me. It's not a video game." she explained as the light turned green and she turned left.

"Really? I mean, you make it seem like that." Jon replied unsurely.

Lois smiled, "Well thanks hon, but it's more….well it's more like a putting a puzzle together." she explained metaphorically. "For example, people reported that there was a large brawl at this nightclub in town. This same place that is run by someone who is known to provide muscle to people who pay." she explained before turning to him. "What does that tell you?" she asked.

Jon thought for a moment, "Um…somebody got into a fight….maybe because the owner guy's men didn't do what they were told?" he replied unsurely.

Lois hummed in acknowledgement, "Good guess, now I just put that puzzle piece off to the side until I gather more and see if I can start something from there." she explained as they pulled into a parking garage. Driving up to the back, Jon could see that over the cement barrier and across the street, police cars were parked outside a large building with a broken window.

As his mother gathered her things together, Jon pulled out his scroll, "I'm gonna go check out a bookstore by here. Is that ok?" he asked as he slid his glasses on.

Lois smiled, "Sure thing bookworm." she replied.

"Hey I like reading! I'd think you'd be happy." he replied teasingly, Lois chuckled as the two went their separate ways. Growing up with two writers as his parents, it was only natural that Jon had become fond of reading. He had a bookshelf in his room that had to be emptied out to make room for the rest of the new books he's gotten in the past three years. And when his mom said she was going to Vale for a story he asked to tag along to pick up a new release. Aw man now I kind of want another mystery book. he thought as he recalled his chat with his mom.

Turning the corner he saw the book store, Tukson's Book Trade, and walked up to the front entrance. Entering the store, a chime rang out overhead as he entered, from behind the counter near the back wall of the store, a man's head peeked out from the corner before he stepped out and smiled politely. "Welcome to Tukson's Book Trade, anything I can help you with today sir?" he asked politely.

Jon smiled back, "Nothing in particular, thank you though." he replied kindly as he walked over to the isle which contained some fantasy books. Browsing over them, he stopped when he found one with an old brown leatherback book, taking it off the shelf he opened the inside cover, Forbidding Fairy Tales of Remnant. Huh, pretty thick. he thought as he inspected the book.

Tukson noticed the boy's interest and smiled, "Ah that's a classic, it's a little dark but there's some good stories in there." he said, making Jon smile as he approached the counter.

"I like oldies, they always have good messages in them somewhere." Jon replied as he put it on the counter which the storeowner scanned at the register. "Did you hear any of that commotion from that club around the corner?" he asked curiously.

The man huffed, "Commotion is putting it lightly, sounded like a warzone out there. Neighbor behind me on the same block had his car window shattered from some sort of explosion." he said, making Jon's eyes widen in surprise. "Weird thing is no-one was seriously hurt. At least no ambulances showed up. And with explosions you'd think…well." he shrugged his shoulders as Jon pulled out the right amount of Lien to pay for the book.

As he turned to the door entrance he noticed a small clothing rack near it that he missed before, on it was a number of old clothes but the red and blue color's of one caught his eye. Walking over her took the hanger off the rack and held it up to look closer at it. He couldn't help but smile when he saw it, it was a zip up jacket that was blue on the arms, chet, and back with bright red around the neck, top of shoulders, and down the tops of the arms. Connecting to the red however right on the chest was the Superman symbol.

"Oh you like that? It used to be my nephew's but he and his parents moved back to home and he needed to offload some stuff." Tukson said from the counter.

….well he did have the Lien…..

Bidding the storeowner farewell, he walked out of the store with his new jacket, which went well zipped up with his jeans and red shoes. Looking in the direction of the club he thought to himself, So maybe not a dissatisfied customer then. Huh….then why tear up the place?

Heading back to the car to wait for his mom, he got inside the passenger's seat and began to read his new book. As he began reading, the world around him began to fade as he became more enamored with the book. 'Yes? Hello I'd like to talk to my insurance agent.' Jon looked up from his book and looked around the parking garage for where the voice came from but saw nothing.

Must be hearing things. Crazy me. he thought with a roll of his eyes as he returned to the book.

Once more his focus drowned out the world and was set on the page, '-and just boom! I woke up and looked outside to see this guy come flying out the window!' Jon's snapped to the side from where he heard the voice. But there was nothing but some empty spaces in the parking garage.

His eyes widened as he realized what must be happening, "No way…..no way!" he exclaimed as he closed the book and tried once more to drown out the world around him.

This time he was flooded with noise, someone tapping their foot against the sidewalk impatiently, a baby wailing as someone tried to calm it down, the buzzing of a fluorescent light, his eyes snapped open. I have Super Hearing! he thought in astonishment over the cacophonous noise around him. He winced when he heard the clapping of one's hand and the buzzing of a fly's wings. "O-" he began before the sound of his own voice made him cover his ears.

Ok stay calm, dad warned me about this I just need to relax, relax. he thought as he took a long and deep breath to calm himself down. He reached into his pocket and felt the pocket watch his father had gifted to him, he could hear it, Tic tok, Tic tok, Tic tok, Tic tok, Tic tok, Tic tok, Tic tok, Tic tok, Tic tok, Tic tok, Tic tok, Tic tok. he heard until it was the loudest sound he could hear, the other noises grew more muted but they were still there.

'I told you Ruby it wasn't a big deal.' he heard a voice reply.

Ruby? Wait….why does that sound familiar? he wondered as he focused in on the voice.

'That nightclub was full of bad guys, no-one is gonna care I trashed it.' the voice said dismissively. 'Besides no one got hurt…..I mean people did but only the guys who had it coming.' she reasoned.

A new voice came in, 'Alright, fine, I won't tell mom or dad. But it's gonna cost you!' a familiar voice said.

Wait a second is that that one girl I met a few months ago? Jon asked himself, recalling the excitable tone of the girl. What was her name? Ruby! Ruby was her name, Ruby Rose.

'Alright little sis…..I'll get you those chocolate chips-'

'Aaaaand?'

'Ugh…..the family sized ones.' the other voice replied a little exhaustedly, but in the same way that his mom would when she was joking with him. 'But first I'm stopping by the Auto place, I need to get a new filter for my bike.'

This is so weird. Jon thought to himself as their voices disappeared among the noise, taking a few more deep breaths to try and calm his hearing, he reached into his pocket and pulled out his scroll. Wait, I don't know if Mom is done with her interview, I don't want to pull her away from….oh yeah Duh Jon. he thought with a roll of his eyes before trying to find his mom's voice.

'-comment on the string of Dust Shop robberies here in Vale? Or why men matching your employee's descriptions were seen at some stores prior to their robberies?' he heard his mother ask mid question.

There was a sigh and what sounded like rocks scraping together, 'No. Now would you please leave? I have some matters to attend to.' an aggravated voice said. 'Brothers that lady needs to shut the hell up.' he said, Jon frowning at the reference to his mother. 'Now what were you saying? You found her!? Good!' he said, Jon's eyes widening. 'Where at? 34th and Melbourne. That auto place, no! Don't try and start something she'll kick your asses, just scare her, you got the rocket launcher with you?'

ROCKET LAUNCHER?!

Jon quickly called his dad, "Come on, come on, come on-" he repeated before he heard her pick up, "Dad! Listen there's no time to explain, you gotta get to 34th and Melbourn in Vale! There's something with a rocket launcher and-" he began as he got out of the car in a rush. His glasses falling down to the concrete ground as he ran out of the garage entrance.

"Woah, woah, kiddo calm down, I'm on my way I should be there in a few minutes." his father replied. However Jon was already in motion, rushing at super speed down the road, passing by cars and people on the street whom only saw a red and blue blur pass by them. Reaching the street he slowed to a stop and turned down the road, halfway down the block was an auto place with it's name leading up the front to where a green car with a curved trunk rotating on a pedestal.

His head was on a swivel, looking for the man who that man his mom was interview was talking to, presumably on his scroll. The sidewalk on either side of the street had some foot traffic, which Jon was quickly making his way through towards the auto place, as he neared the entrance to the auto place he saw standing outside was Ruby, and another young lady who had long blonde hair.

Realizing that must be her sister, he stepped forward to try and warn her before his he heard something slam together, turning to the scource of the noise he saw up on the roof across the street was a man dressed in red and black, holding a rocket launcher! Oh crap that's a rocket launcher. the rocket shot out from the end of the launcher towards the top of the auto place, OH CRAP THAT'S AN ACTUALY ROCKET LAUNCHER! Jon thought, snapping himself out of his daze as the rocket hit the circular carousel that rotated the car.

The support beams that held it up blew apart and the circle became a ramp that the car slid down and fell towards the sisters below!

The blonde who had seen the whole thing grabbed her sister, "Ruby!" she cried out as she pushed her away to safety while the people around screamed in horror and braced herself with her Aura. Closing her eyes she braced for the impact that would definitely hurt, however she didn't feel it. Then she heard it, the silence, no sound of scraping metal, or thunderous 'boom' of any explosion, or even the panicked people who were just screaming their heads off.

Opening her lilac eyes, she saw why, a foot away from her head was the grill of the car stopped in midair. Looking down the blonde saw a of hand on the underside of the front bumper, the metal bending around the fingers as it was lifted up. And then she saw it, the red and yellow 'S'.

Ruby meanwhile sat up from the ground and looked up to see the same thing but from a very different perspective. She too saw someone holding up a car to save her sister from harm, one hand was on the bumper and the other reached back to keep it balanced while he lifted it up until it was directly over him and not in danger of landing on her sister Yang. The two sisters both quickly realized it wasn't superman when they saw his face, he was MUCH younger, he looked around their age!

"Are you alright?" he asked with concern. Yang was snapped out of her stupor and nodded, "Alright….um…one second." he said as he stepped over onto the street and gently set the car down on it's driver side tires before gently setting it down on the ground completely. As he turned to Yang and Ruby, they got their first clear look at him, he was obviously not the Man of Steel. Instead of the mostly blue costume, he wore a jacket with the logo on the chest, a pair of old jeans, and some red and white shoes.

Instead of neatly combed back hair, his was a little longer and curlier, but his eyes were the same. The same blue eyes that Yang saw the night Superman brought home their Mother Summer Rose in his arms. Ever since that day, Yang had idolized the Alien from another world for saving her mom, and while this may not be him, it was clear that whoever this was clearly did the same. It was only after his lips moved did Yang realize she wasn't listening, "I-I'm sorry what?" she asked.

"I asked if you need to contact someone? Your parents or…anything?" he asked before turning to Ruby, jolting a little before walking over and offering her his hand, "Sorry! I didn't mean to ignore you, are you ok Miss?" he asked with just as much concern. Ruby whoever was staring at him with her silver eyes wide as they could be, the younger girl was just staring in…..well….shock more then anything. Her eyes darted down to the hand he was offering which she gently took, he gingerly helped her up to her feet, "Sorry I'm…..well I'm kinda new at this." he admitted sheepishly.

Jon suddenly realized the man who fired the missile was still out there! Looking up to the rooftop the man attacked from he turned back to Ruby and then to Yang, "Um, stay here and wait for the police to arrive." he said with a more sure tone before turning and leaping a good twenty stories into the air.

Yang's Jaw dropped, as he disappeared from sight, Ruby walked over beside her, "Um…Yang….I think you should tell mom and dad what happened at that club."

"….yeah…..Yeah I…wow." she breathed out.

Meanwhile, two blocks away, the man in the red and black suit was running though the alley towards Junior's club when a shape crashed down in front of him, the shockwave of the impact making him stumble back. When the dust cleared Jon was steading himself, "Ok I need to work on my narrow landings." he said as he looked up and winced to see he just clipped one of the rooftops above him. Looking down to the man who shot the rocket, his expression became stern, "Hey! You!" he said, pointing at the man.

He responded by pulling out a gun, "….Oh." Jon said before he fired. Ok I guess we get to see if I'm bulletproof! he thought as he close his eyes. The bullet hitting him right in the chest. Ow…..that….that stings a little. Jon thought a another bullet hit his shoulder, "Hey! Quit that you!" Jon said as he stepped forward through the gunshots while the gunman rapidly backpedtaled away down the alley form he came. AS he reached the corner however, he turned and had a fist belt him in the face.

Stepping out of the alleyway was someone who made Jon's heart jump intohis throat.

"JOHNATHAN SAMUEL KENT! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Lois Lane yelled as she stepped over the unconscious gunman.

Ooooooohhhhhhhh the middle name is never a good sign. Jon thought with a wince.

Jon was sitting on the counch in the living room with his hands folded in his lap and his head bowed down as his mother paced in front of him. "You could have been shot! You were Shot!" Lois reprimanded, pointing at the spots in his new jacket where the bullets had hit him. "Did you know you were bulletproof young man? Well?" she asked, folding her hands on her hips judementally.

"No Ma'am." Jon replied dutifully, knowing that when his mom got like this, the best possible thing was honesty.

"Exactly! And what if those were dust rounds, your father can't even stand up those without getting hurt!" she crititsized, making her son's head lower even more. Lois turned, "And you!" she said, pointing to her husband who was Also sitting on the couch beside his son in his costume, his hands folded in front of him only he looked less ashamed and more curious, "Where were you?!"

"I was on my way when Jon called me," he turned to his on, "Which you were right to do. But by the time I got there it was over and I heard you two….and then you had me bring us all home." he replied, Lois took a deep breath. She couldn't exactly be mad at her husband, he couldn't be everywhere at once obviously, "And your mother has a right to be concerned Jon. Before, we told you that we aren't comfortable with you doing this yet and you acted anyway." he said, looking to his son who seemed to recoil from his father's words.

"I know but….should I have done nothing?" he asked unsurely.

"What?! No, of course not." Lois replied with a shake of her head, "I never said that."

Clark smiled, "You did the right thing Jon, if you had done nothing, then the people that car would have hit would be seriously hurt or worse." he said, making his son look between both of them in confusion.

"Wait but you just said-" he began as he pointed at his father who set a hand on his shoulder.

"I said that we told you BEFORE we were concerned. And your mother is right, you didn't know how invulnerable you are, but you did the right thing today." he said, his son's shoulders untensing beneath his hand as his Mom approached him and ruffled his hair slightly. "Your mom was just worried about you."

Lois smiled at him, "And I always will. So I'm gonna chew you out when you do, but that doesn't mean I'm not proud of you sweetie." she said before leaning down and pecking him on his head, making Jon smile in relief.

"I'm sorry I worried you mom." he apologized, the matriarch of the hosuse ruffling his hair.

"It's fine sweetie. And hey! You got Superhearing down pat!" she said with a pat on his back.

Jon rubbed the back of his head, "Not exactly, I mean it was working when I was focusing on it but now? I can't really hear anything outside of normal." he said.

Clark held up a hand, "That's normal actually, your hearing is….well it's sort of like a radio station, you can tune it to different frequencies. It takes some practice but you'll get the hang of it." he explained.

Lois crossed her arms, "I'm more worried about people who saw you. I mean….what your wearing isn't exactly subtle." she said, gesturing to his jacket. Jon looked down and winced, he hadn't even thought about the while 'secret identity' thing! "We always knew you'd eventually step into the spotlight with your father but…." she trailed off and looked to Clark who had a contemplative expression.

"We wanted you to be ready as you could be before then." he said to his son.

Jon entangled his fingers together, "I mean…I don't know if I'm ready or not. But….I know that I can help people with what I can do…..so how about this? For now, I do small stuff around Vale, help cat's in trees, that sort of thing." he said with a shrug as he stood up from the couch and looked at both his parents.

Clark and Lois looked at one another, each of them wearing a small smile, Lois tilted her head to the side and Clark nodded, she turned to Jon, "Wait here." she said before walking up the stairs to their room. As soon as she was out of earshot, Jon deflated.

"Dad…..has mom always been this intense?" he asked.

Clark chuckled and nodded, "Yes she has, I wish you got to meet her when I did. She's a very passionate woman."

"Yeah. Yeah…..but I mean….I saw her knock out a grown man with a single punch today." he explained.

Clark nodded as he let out an 'aahhhhh', "That….well…..yes. She's always been like that too." he said, looking over to Jon who just nodded until she came back down the stairs. Clark stood up as his wife joined him at his side, he looked over the jacket he picked out, "Where did you get that anyway?" he asked amusingly.

Jon looked down at hi flooded back arm sleeves and shrugged, "Bookstore, it was the owner's nephew's and he was selling his stuff…..hey it's better then a Halloween costume." he provided good naturedly.

Hi father's expression became more forlorn and contemplative, "Jon….your not like the boy who outgrew that jacket." Lois reached one hand out from behind her back and set it on his shoulder. He looked to her before back to Jon, "We were afraid that after your powers first manifested, you'd have to pick it up and embrace the 'S' for yourself. It's not about our powers, how fast we can run, or how strong we are, it's about character." he explained.

Jon looked down at the at emblem on his chest with more respect then before, "It means doing the right thing when no one else will, even when your scared and don't think you can. It means that your have to try even when it seems like it's pointless." hos father said before smiling a little. "But over the past year? You've shown that you're well on your way, and me and your mother agree that you've earned the right to carry it." he said as Lois stepped forward.

"Which is why we've made you a little gift." she said before pulling out a red fabric from behind her back and presenting it to Jon. The young man's eyes widened as he took it from his mother's hands and let it unfold in front of him. the fabric had the Shield on the fabric with it bleeding into the red around the cape from the crest while the yellow remained where it was on the front. "We figured you'd want a cape." Lois said before Jon engulfed her and his dad in a hug..

"I love it! Thank you….both of you." he said in gratitude as he looked at both of their happy expressions.

To say Yang's mom and dad were displeased with what she did at Junior's club, would be an understatement to say the least. However after explaining why she was there, and who she was looking for, it gave the parents both pause, Summer and Ruby gave Taiyang his daughter the room to talk. "…..I….I know that me and Summer….never brought up Raven…like…ever." Tai began, his arms crossed in front of his chest while Yang sat on the couch across the coffee table from him. "So….it's natural that you'd have some questions." he admitted, "But…..Yang, a nightclub?" he asked.

The blonde's eyes darted down and away from her father, "Do you remember when mom went on her last mission? And….we spent weeks worrying about her?' she began. Tai's hands tightened on his biceps, it was one of the hardest times of his life. "I found this old picture of you, mom, Uncle Qrow, and….her. And we never met her….and well…I know Summer is my mom but…."

"You take more after her then me." Tai finished for her, smirking a little, "I mean hair color aside? You look like a dead wringer for Raven….except she never combed her hair." he said wistfully.

Yang smiled a little, "Yeah…but then mom came back, and it didn't feel right to bring it up….so I looked into it….which led to the wagon incident with me and Ruby." she said, Tai's head nodding in understanding slowly.

"Riiight…..and you've been looking ever since." he realized.

"Yeah but more carefully then before." Yang replied, "I mean I heard about Junior's place, those thugs he rents out couldn't handle a Grimm, let alone me." she proudly stated as her dad reached back and scratched the back of his head.

"Yang I know you can take care of yourself, believe me I know, but you trashed a club in the Kingdom." he stated.

Yang titlted her head to the side and shrugged her shoulders, "They were bad guys, I mean I didn't give anyone my name, and they just know I was looking for someone that they've never seen." her dad's face told her she wasn't saying what he wanted to hear. "But…..I know I can't just trash places in a fight." she admitted.

"Not in the Kingdom." Tai said as he walked around the table and rested a hand on her shoulder, "And…..Yang, my little sunny dragon…..don't ever be afraid to ask me or Summer about your mom." he said with a smile.

Yang lowered her head, "I know it's just….Uncle Qrow told me she broke your heart and….I didn't want to re-break it." she said.

Tai chuckled, "I apricate it, but I'm thougher then Qrow thinks I am." he boasted.

Yang looked over unsurely, "I mean….you do need heart medication."

"That's unrelated." Tai quickly said before the front door brust open with Rose Petdals, "Hey! Ruby, you know the know the rules-OOF!" he said before he and Yang where shoved across the couch by Ruby with her mother right behind her.

"Ohmygoshguysyougottaseethis!" she quickly said as she flicked on the TV to the news.

On the projected screen was Superman on a stage in what looked like downtown Vale, Summer gave Tai and apologetic look but he smiled back and waved her off as Superman began to speak. "Good Afternoon, first of all, I'd like to thank the Vale New Network for helping make this announcement. They've been very accommodating in broadcasting this on such short notice." he said gratefully.

Across the world in Atlas, Weiss and Willow Schnee watched the broadcast in the tea room of the manner, with their butler Klen wating in interest as well as he refilled both their cups. "I'm here today to make a very….well, special announcement. When I first came to Remnant 17 years ago this year, people had many questions about me. What were my powers? Where did I come from? And most of all….why is my underwear outside my costume?" he asked jokingly. Klen snorted while Winter rolled her eyes, missing how Weiss silently chuckled in amusement.

In Menagerie, various Faunus wer gathered in the town square to watch the broadast, the parents of a particular faunus sitting near the front of the crowd. "I was raised to believe in Truth, Justice, and Freedom. So I gave honest answers, my powers come from the yellow sun, I came from a distant planet which I was raised on but is now gone. And today I'm here to tell the truth once more."

At a airship station in Anima, a pair of teens watched the program while they waited for their flight to Vale, the boy watching with a clam expression while his female companion swung her legs back and forth without a care. "When I came here and told you, the world, about myself. There were some things that I kept private, and I hope that all of you watching will understand why."

In a warehouse in Vale, the projector played to a man in a bowler cap, while a woman with amber eyes that seemed to glow in the shadows watched as well, her interest peaked by the Man of Steel's words. What could he of all people have to hide after all?

The same thoughts crossed the headmaster of Beacon as he watched along with his colleagues.

In Argus, a girl with red hair was taking a break from her training to watch the TV her mother had put on. "When I came here. I was not alone. For these seventeen years, I've been keeping a large part of my life from the world. But today, I'm beyond proud to share with you all-" he turned back as a shape leapt up in the distance behind him and fell down towards the stage.

Laning on the stage, Jon stood up in front of the crowd of people whose' jaws were dropped and the various cameras capturing his debut as "-Superboy!" his father introduced proudly, Jon smiling at the crowd.

On Patch, Ruby Rose and Yang Xiao Long pointed at the screem, 'Holy Crap it's Him!" they both exclaimed, making their parents look at them in astonishment.

In Atlas, Winter spat out her drink while Weiss dropped her cup, which her butler caught while they heard the loud exclamation of their father from down the hall "What the FU-"

Ozpin's eyes where widened so much that his already smaller glasses looked tiny compared to his eyes.

In downtown Vale, the man with the Bowler hat blinked, "…..Superman had sex?"

In Menagerie the crowd of Faunus all shocked by the appearance before clapping happily with the mother of a certain faunus cooing at how cute the younger boy was.

In Anima, the couple, and not a couple like that were shocked with the girl tilting her head curiously.

In Argus, the redheaded girl choked on her water she had been drinking before forcing it down when she saw the boy smiling at the camera and saying a single word.

"Um…Hi!" he greeted the world as his father proudly placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled as well.

The cat was out of the bag, Superman had a son.

AN: Yes! The first Arc is done! And I have officially written what I think is the funniest scene I have ever done. I thought that maybe showing everyone's reaction to Jon's debut would be a little…corny? But I'm honestly happy with how everything turned out. And with one month until Jon takes up the mantle IRL….or IRC I guess, I wanted to get this out there…..plus after Spencer leaves spider-man that's probably going to be the only comic book I pick up.

Anyway, onto the reviews!

Shadow-Proclamation8: Oh yeah I answered this, yeah I imagine it happens a lot, I mean he's the man of steel. In fact Smallville (more on that later) has like every girl in the show interested in him at some point.

Brave 2000: Yeah I was super proud of last chapter! And I'm going to try and top myself every one after it!

ImHellaUgly (No your not you beautiful champion you!): Yes he is! Now, I'll be the first to say that aging Jon up in the first place (BENDIS YOU SHIT) was a mistake. But this is honestly the best possible thing to happen, save Jon getting de-aged.

Ben: Hmmm, that's a though one. See I think All Might would welcome the help, and if he actually arrived before All Might? He might be HIS hero. Bakugo might be kind of annoyed by him seeing as he values strength above most everything else and he's the strongest guy on the planet, but he doesn't care about fighting. It might push him to All Might more.

Izuku might have him be like his number 2 favorite after All Might, man I could see them meeting and him letting that slip and he's mortified but Superman is cool with it.

C.K.: YES! SMALLVILLE IS COMING BACK AS AN ANIMATED SERIES! With TOM WELLING AND MICHEL ROSSENBURG! God when I heard that I just heard 'Save Me' play in my head. Can't wait!
