(A/N) Okay so I recently decided screw it this is a nice ending spot and it ties up fine here, so we're ending because I'm trying to close off Naruto and stories. So, we'll do this. Last chapter here we go!
Choji honestly didn't really care what sensei he got as long as they were at least sort of nice and he was with Ino and Shikamaru. Since he was teammates with them, the second one wouldn't be an issue.
Their teacher arrived on time along with Torune, Hinata, and Kiba's teacher, and he was smoking the entire time. Choji wasn't a particularly big fan of the smell but alright. All shinobi had their weird thing, this was just their teacher's.
"Oh he's not so bad," Ino remarked, sighing. "Not that traumatized. Must not have ever been in ANBU." Ah yes, Ino's ability to see things no one else could. A good way to judge people to see if they were okay to be interacted with.
"Team 10 you're with me." Their teacher said, beckoning and starting to leave. Choji hoped this would go well.
Shikamaru just hoped it wouldn't be too troublesome. He was already tired and it wasn't even noon yet. He just wanted to go home and take a nap while he still could. Their teacher didn't seem all that interesting, in direct contrast to one of the few female jounin that existed now days, and the...colorful character that was Gai.
The Hokage's son thing gave him mild hope that maybe this would be slightly more interesting than other things, but it wasn't a high hope.
For all that Shikamaru was lazy, and disliked work, he still did need to be strong enough to stand with the others. He wasn't going to fall behind. But he still didn't want this to be troublesome.
Asuma was a very handsoff kind of sensei. It had some benefits, Tenten and Sakura could line it up so they were both on his team for a day and work on the hiraishin project the entire time without drawing too much suspicion, as long as the third person was loud enough to draw all the attention. Usually Naruto, Kiba, or Ino filled that role.
Personally, Tenten was of the opinion that while his teaching style slot in nicely to give whoever wanted it some time to work on their own thing for an extended period of time, but on its own, it probably wouldn't work very well.
It would probably work better if they, y'know, had parents to give them things to work on, but that was beside the point.
On the plus side, with everyone working on D-ranks, they had a lot of extra money, even if the monthly stipend for being orphans had cut out once everyone was a genin. So they were working on saving for emergencies.
D-ranks, were, as always, extremely boring. Kiba did not like them, but they were unavoidable no matter what they did. D-ranks were simply a fact of life. Not a fun one, but a fact of life.
Keruberosu had no issue with most of them, and honestly, Kiba was just glad only Gai's team was the one that was still infamous with the weeding missions. He didn't need to do any more weeding missions. He didn't even like them!
Torune had more difficulty then others both impersonating people and being impersonated. His insects made both of those rather difficult. So he was very impressed when he had to impersonate Ino for a day for a variety of reasons, and somehow, mysteriously, Asume didn't even notice. Despite the fact that Torune was absolutely horrible at impersonating Ino, who was loud and prone to viciously scolding people who weren't taking care of themselves.
He did manage to scold Shikamaru for lazing around once though, and he thought it was a good effort. Shikamaru apparently thought it was so hilarious he actually got up and started working on something. Torune wasn't sure if he should be offended or not.
For all that their own teacher was lousy, at least they'd managed to bully him into teaching them stuff occasionally. Mostly by threatening to call team Gai to hunt him down and set Gai on him again. Asuma however didn't ever really teach them anything in particular. Sakura wasn't particularly bothered by it, but it bothered Sasuke and Naruto, who had opinions and always wanted to learn more things. As such, they mostly weren't allowed to swap out with anyone in Asuma's team. Sakura, who had better things to do, did it a fair amount to get her own work in while everyone else was learning new things. She didn't need new things until she finished her current thing thank you very much.
As such, she was the one who got the most out of Asuma's teaching. Or lack thereof. But hey, she didn't mind, it was everyone else who got huffy over having to be stuck doing the Asuma team half the time.
Hinata was too nice to say she hated how Asuma did his teaching, or rather, didn't do any teaching, but she did dislike it. Heavily. The only plus side was now she had more time to sit quietly and make the polutices and creams that helped with soreness and exhaustion. They went through those a lot so she was always making more.
Neji did not particularly care for Asuma, finding him too hands off to be a proper teacher. How could one evaluate how the students were doing when you weren't teaching them. So he was very unimpressed. Especially when they were going onward for a C-rank. So no, Neji did not particularly care for Asuma.
In the end the C-rank didn't kill anyone, except maybe Ino's urge to try and actually convince their teacher to teach them things. On the plus side she did know there was no particularly large trauma in their teacher. So that was a bonus. Barely.
Lee, who didn't particularly care who was his teacher as long as he got to keep doing things and they didn't care that he was sometimes too quiet and just wanted to read a medical text instead of interacting with everyone else. Asuma was mostly too distracted smoking to care if Lee was having a quiet day and impersonating Shikamaru. Plus, naps.
(A/N) Ooookay! All done. All finished. This was gonna be a lot longer, then brain said nope we're finishing stuff. So this is done now. Bye!
