Author's Note: Welcome to my new fic, Sweet Home Chicago: The One-Shots. This is a companion to my fic Sweet Home Chicago. If you haven't read that one, these one-shots will most likely not make a lot of sense.

These chapters will be missing scenes, extra scenes, and reader requests. Feel free to review or PM me with ideas and requests!

The timeline of this chapter falls somewhere between Chapters 10 and 11. This was written at the very beginning of the pandemic, before we really knew anything about Covid. Guidelines and procedures will look different than what is actually being done now, but this is FICTION so don't come at me! This is just supposed to be fun and fluffy! I know, 'fun', 'fluffy', and 'Covid' sounds like a weird combination, but it was necessary to lighten things up to help get through those first few weeks of quarantine.

I hope you enjoy!

Quarantined?

Hank angrily stormed into his office, slamming the door behind him. He understood the seriousness of the virus, but he was incredibly annoyed that it was limiting his ability to do his job. Crime in the city wasn't ceasing just because of the virus, and he worried about the future of Chicago if the number of police officers on duty was limited.

His thoughts were interrupted when his phone's text tone sounded with a message from Jenna. Instead of returning her text, he decided to call her.

"Hey babe!" Jenna said, answering the phone.

"Hey," Hank said quietly.

Just by that one word, Jenna could immediately sense something was off. "Is something wrong?"

Hank sighed. "It's just…been a rough day. Are we at your place tonight or mine?"

"I was thinking mine," Jenna said.

"Good. We need to talk."

Again, Jenna was concerned by Hank's words. He sounded frustrated and exhausted all at the same time, and she could tell he wasn't giving her the whole story. "Hank, is everything ok? You don't sound good."

"Yeah, I'll be fine. I need to go wrap some things up before I head out. I'll see you later. Love you."

"Love you."

Hank tossed his phone onto his desk as he started packing up his computer and files he would need while he was home. After making assignments and conducting a quick debrief, Hank headed to Jenna's apartment to fill her in on his news.

"Hey babe," Jenna said, meeting him at the door with a kiss.

"Hey beautiful," he said, pulling her close and kissing her again.

Jenna smiled as she leaned against him. "You're in a better mood than you were earlier when we talked."

Hank shrugged. "Well, I've had a little bit of time to process, and it is what it is."

"You didn't get fired did you?" Jenna asked, suddenly concerned about him again.

He gave her a look. "Jen."

Jenna shrugged. "Sorry, I was just asking."

"I didn't get fired, but I'm going to be home for at least a couple of weeks," Hank said, as they moved to sit on Jenna's couch.

"Why?"

"Because I'm quarantined," he said, as Jenna curled up against his side.

"Quarantined?" Jenna questioned.

"Yep. The department decided that everyone over 50 could be at risk, so Al and I are home bound for now."

Jenna was silent for a few moments, processing his news. "Well, a couple of weeks off might not be so bad, right?"

"I still have to be available by video chat to help the team however I can, but I'm not allowed out of the house. No one really understands this virus yet, and Al and I fall into what they are calling a 'vulnerable population', so they want to make sure we're safe."

Jenna smiled as an idea popped into her head. "Well...I've closed the bakery indefinitely because of all of this, so that leaves me home alone. If you're not going anywhere, and I'm not going anywhere, I think that means it's probably ok for us to quarantine here together," she said, pulling him close and kissing him deeply.

Hank smiled against her lips. "Hmm. I hadn't thought about it that way, but this might work out just fine," he said, kissing her again. "I do have to do some work during the day, but we can spend the rest of the time doing whatever we want."

"That sounds like a great idea to me."

The next morning, Jenna groaned as Hank's alarm went off. "No," she mumbled into his chest, hanging onto him tighter.

Hank chuckled, continually amused by how much Jenna hated mornings. "I gotta get up, babe. I gotta get my stuff ready to meet with the team soon."

Jenna sighed. "I thought quarantine meant we get to stay in bed all day."

"I'd love to, but unfortunately quarantine for me means sitting in front of the computer."

Jenna groaned, pulling the sheets over her head. "Fine."

"You don't have to get up. I'm going to take a quick shower and then set up on your kitchen table."

She pulled the sheet off of her head, tucking it under her chin. "No, I'll go ahead and get up with you."

"Sleep until I get out of the shower," Hank said, kissing the top of her head.

"Ok," she said, closing her eyes.

When Hank moved to the kitchen to set up his temporary office, Jenna drug herself out of bed. She pulled on a pair of leggings and picked up Hank's shirt from the floor, slipping it on, knowing how much he enjoyed seeing her in his clothes. When she walked into the kitchen, Hank stopped what he was doing, his eyes taking in the sight in front of him.

"What?" Jenna asked innocently.

"How am I supposed to get anything done with you looking like that?" Hank asked.

Jenna smiled as she walked over to lean against the table in front of him. "I'm hoping I can distract you enough that you'll just forget all of that police work for the day," she said, unbuttoning one of the buttons as she kissed him.

"You're killing me, woman." Hank kissed her again before playfully pushing her away. "Stop tempting me and let me get to work."

Jenna started fixing breakfast for them as Hank connected to his team by video chat on his computer.

"Morning everyone," he said.

"Hey Hank," Erin said. "I know today is the first day, but how are you doing being stuck at home?"

Hank shrugged his shoulders. "So far it's not too bad. I'm quarantining in an alternate location."

"Where are you?"

"Jenna's house, currently working at her kitchen table." Just then, Jenna walked over and set a cup of coffee in front of him.

"Here's coffee, babe."

"Thanks," he said as she leaned down to kiss him, unaware she was on camera.

"Oh hey Jenna!" Hailey said.

"Oh. Hi everyone," Jenna said, leaning down to see them.

"How is quarantine?" Kim asked.

Jenna stepped behind Hank, slipping her arms around his neck as she leaned her head against his. "So far so good. We aren't sick of each other yet."

"Just wait," Al said. "Hank is really not good at sitting at home with nothing to do."

Hank watched as Jenna walked back to finish their breakfast. "I think we can find plenty of things to keep us busy."

"I'm sure," Adam said under his breath, elbowing Jay as they both laughed.

"Ruzek," Hank said, a hint of warning to his voice.

"Hey Halstead," Adam said. "That shirt Jenna is wearing, does it look familiar to you?"

Jay nodded. "It does. It looks like something I've seen...recently."

"I think so too," Adam agreed. "Maybe as recent as yesterday, on Sarge if I'm not mistaken."

"You know, I think you're right," Jay said.

"Sarge, where did Jenna get her shirt?" Adam asked.

Hank rolled his eyes and looked over at Jenna, who shrugged her shoulders, indicating he could tell them whatever he wanted. "She got it when she picked it up off of her bedroom floor this morning. Now can we get back to work?"

The girls shook their heads as the guys laughed. "Well I just have to say that it looks way better on her than it does on you, Boss", Adam said.

"Yeah," Jay said. "It makes you kinda look like a lumberjack. Jenna looks hot."

"Hey," Erin said, smacking Jay in the arm.

"Both of you, stop looking at Jenna like that, or you will have me to deal with, as soon as I'm cleared to come back to the district."

The team dove back into their work, and several hours later, Hank sent them out on their assigned tasks. He was just closing down his computer when Jenna joined him at the table.

"You're finished?" she asked, refilling his drink.

"For now," Hank said. "They are out…doing their thing, while I just…" he stopped, gesturing toward his computer and files piled on the table. "While I just sit here and wait."

Jenna moved to sit in his lap. "This is really hard for you, isn't it?"

"It is," he said, brushing her hair away from her face and cradling her head in his hand. "I feel so useless. I wish I was out there with them."

"I know babe," Jenna said, slipping her arms around his neck. "Sitting on the sidelines isn't what you want to do. But I…Hank, I don't want you to get so caught up in all of this that you disobey orders and get yourself in a mess. I know over the last few years you've gotten used to being alone, but now…please don't forget that I'm here, and I need you safe and healthy. Ok?" she asked, her eyes glistening with unshed tears.

Hank kissed her as he pulled her close. "I could never forget about you, Jen. I promise I'll be safe. You just may have to put up with me being cranky about staying home."

"I can handle a little crankiness, as long as you stay safe."

"I will be." He kissed her again. "I love you, and even though we're at the start of what looks to turn into a global pandemic, I'm glad we're getting to have this kind of time together."

Jenna smiled. "I love you too, and I know that as long as we take care of each other, we'll get through this."

Hank knew Jenna was right. Although the future was unclear, and the damage the virus could cause was unknown, they had each other, and they would work to keep each other safe and healthy. Hopefully soon, life would go back to normal, and they would be able to move forward.

Together.
