After leaving the basketball court, I ended up by what appeared to be a supermarket. That is what the sign on the top front, so I assumed it was such. I headed on inside to check it out. Once I was inside the supermarket, I saw a front checkout counter, and so many shelfs stocked off food, drinks, and vacation supplies, mainly for a beach vacation. There was no one at the front checkout counter, so I decided to walk through the whole store incase there was someone or anyone else. I eventually ran into two guys, one was apparently talking to the other with a puppet on his hand. The other guy didn't seem to care at all and then got a really weird smile on his face as he punched the puppet guy in the stomach, he went straight to the ground.
"My classmates are so violent!" I thought to myself.
As the puppet guy lay groaning on the ground, the one who punched him laughed immaturely and started walking away. Our eyes met. He was a tall guy with big muscles, like that punch he gave to the puppet guy must of hurt. He had curly black hair, and was sporting a blue workout jersey, black gym shorts, and blue running shoes. He also had a tablet as well.
"Hey babe!" he greeted. "Did you see much punch that freak?"
"Uuuuuuuhhhhh..." I honestly didn't know how to respond to that.
"Hahaha, what a loser that guy is! Trying to put on a puppet show like that, I'm really gonna give it to him later."
"Um...Perhaps we should focus on being stuck on this island for now, instead of bullying others?"
"Yeah, you're right I guess. But I am gonna mess him up later."
"This guy is kind of sick!" I thought to myself.
This brute started flexing his muscles. "If for some extremely rare reason, you somehow don't know who I am, I'm Harvey Masters! I'm known as the Ultimate Cyclist!"
"Of course this douche is some kind of jock." I thought to myself.
"I'm Natalie Bowie, I'm the Ultimate Receptionist." I returned the greeting.
Harvey didn't at all appear to be listening to me, as he was still flexing. "You're pretty cute, we should go out on a date together sometime."
I mentally rolled my eyes in my head. While Harvey certainly was cute, I have no interest in doing anything with cocky bullies such as him, regardless of how cute he was. Also, I'm sure by now you noticed I may say a lot to myself, and have a lot of personal opinions, but I'm still just too shy to say most of the things I'm thinking.
"Focus Harvey." I replied, while trying to sound stern. "Something is definitely wrong here, if we all woke up on this unknown island."
Harvey finally stopped flexing, and turned to look at me. "Yeah, this shit is pretty crazy, but it can't be all bad."
"Why do you say that?"
Harvey started smiling like a brat again. "Oh man! There are so many losers here that I can bully! That fast food nerd, the monster finder, the puppet boy here, and that water boy geek! I gave him such a good round of bullying!"
I started to get angry, and I would definitely give him a piece of my mind if he really hurt Dane.
"So yeah! This place should be fun! I'm gonna go find some more losers to bully, but don't forget about our date babe!"
Harvey gave me one more good flex, then walked away from me. He kicked the puppet guy on the ground as he walked past him, and then headed for the exit of the supermarket.
"Harvey is just the worst!" I thought to myself.
The puppet guy started groaning in pain again, so I quickly ran over to him to help him up.
"Are you okay?" I asked as I helped bring him to his feet.
"Ow..." he moaned.
This guy was average height and dressed extremely formal. He worse black dress shoes with the same color dress pants, bow tie, jacket, and top hat. The only article of clothing that wasn't black, was his white tux. As for the puppet that was on his right hand, it was an older man wearing the same outfit as him.
"Sorry you had to be beaten by that douche Harvey." I stated. "That guy truly is an asshole."
"Little girl!" scolded the puppet boy in a funny, older sounding voice. "Watch your mouth! You shouldn't say certain words you just said!"
"Huh?"
It took me a second to realize he was using his puppet to talk due to the movements. The guy also bent down to pick up a tablet and a black cane with a white stripe on the top of it.
"Are you ever gonna talk like that again?" He continued to use the funny voice.
"Dude." I said sternly. "What are you doing?"
"Trying to teach you proper language young lady."
"I'm starting to see why Harvey punched and kicked him." I thought to myself.
"Okay I'm sorry" I muttered almost sarcastically. "I won't talk like that again."
"Good girl!" The guy replied in his funny voice.
"I'm so close to bringing him back to the ground myself!" I screamed to myself.
"Anyway, I'm Natalie Bowie, the Ultimate Receptionist." I greeted.
The guy cleared his throat and then spoke in what assumed to be his normal voice. "Nice to meet you Natalie! I'm Donald Warn, and I'm the Ultimate Puppeteer!" He then went back to his puppet voice. "And I'm Mr. Warn!" Donald moved his puppet around.
"Okay then...So, I assume you do puppet shows?"
"You bet we do Missy! Donald and I are quite famous for our children's puppet show, Mr. Warn! We're easily one of the biggest children's entertainments around!"
"I see." I replied, still not fully understanding this guy.
"I guess he prefers to be what makes him ultimate, which is fine." I thought to myself. "But damn it! He is so annoying!"
"Well guys, do you know anything about our current situation?" I asked.
Donald shook his head, as well as Mr. Warn. "No idea unfortunately, but if we all pitch in, I'm sure we'll find out something soon!"
"Right...Have either of you found anything of use on this island?"
Donald shook both his head and his puppet again. "Afraid not Missy, we just been meeting our fellow classmates, though most of them appear to be in a bad mood.
"I wonder why?!" I thought to myself.
Donald made Mr. Warn move his arms around. "That Harvey is a bad boy! He deserves a timeout for hitting us!"
"I...wouldn't try it Mr. Warn. He'll most likely put you two back on the ground again."
"Children are suppose to obey their elders, he'll listen."
"Okay I can't take this guy anymore!" I cried to myself.
"Right, well it was nice meeting the both of you, I'm gonna continue my search for clues." I said somewhat quickly.
Donald nodded, as well as Mr. Warn. "Buh bye Natalie! Be safe and good out there!" Donald then turned around and walked away. I waited until I heard the door open to punch the wall somewhat hard.
"He is so freaking annoying!" I cried.
After calming down, I decided to head on out of the supermarket to continue investigating. As I walking out, I looked at the checkout counter again.
"I wonder if we have to pay for anything we take here or not?" I thought to myself.
With that, I left the supermarket, and continued on with my search. Not much longer, I ended up at the beach, which made me realize this island wasn't really that big. But standing in front of the beach appeared to be some sort of hotel. Hanging around the back of the hotel was a girl. She was of average height, with red, curly hair. She was wearing a white, long sleeve button up blouse, with a green tie. She also wore a green skirt and white heals. She was holding a tablet as well. She appeared somewhat freaked out, as well as honestly not that attractive. But that was just me being judgmental, so I walked over to here.
"Hi there!" I greeted.
The girl looked up in my direction, but then avoided eye contact.
Somewhat confused, I greeted her again. "Hey!"
The girl now looked extremely nervous and shy.
I finally reached her. "Are you okay?"
The girl slowly turned her head to me and slowly nodded.
"Did something happen to you? Are you feeling a certain way?"
The girl slowly shook her head.
"Hey, it's okay to be scared. I'm scared myself, and I'm sure the others are as well. Nobody knows anything about what's going on here."
The girl just stared at me for a bit, before finally speaking in a soft voice. "Right..."
Relieved she finally spoke, I smiled. "I'm Natalie Bowie, the Ultimate Receptionist."
The girl appeared to struggle to find what she wanted to say for a bit. "Miranda...Lancer...I'm...the Ultimate... Movie Extra."
"Movie extra? Wow, so you're an actress?"
Miranda shook her head. "No...I'm just an extra...usually just in the background of scenes...without...any actual...impact on the movie's plot."
"I see, well that is still really awesome, getting to be in a whole bunch of movies."
Miranda nodded. "I guess."
Still smiling, I then got a little more serious. "Anyway, have you found any clues that may help us with our whole being stuck here on this island?"
Miranda shook her head. "No."
"Okay, well like I said Miranda, it's alright to be scared, but we'll definitely get to the bottom of this."
Miranda nodded, while giving me a small smile. "Okay."
Without saying anything else, Miranda started to walk away from me. I watched her until she was out of sight.
"And I thought I was shy." I thought to myself.
But then, I started to get a little more scared myself. I know what I told Miranda, but the fact of the matter was, I was on an unknown island with a bunch of strangers, this situation was starting to be too much for me. I started to play with my ponytail for a bit.
"Just what is going on here?" I asked myself.
After recovering form my small pause, I headed to the front of the hotel. It was pretty much at the front of the beach, which honestly had a nice view. Turning back to the hotel, I saw it had steps that lead up to the front entrance and an outdoor patio with several tables and chairs. There was a guy on the patio checking everything out. He was average height with short black hair, which was tucked for the most part under a gray cap. He apparently was wearing a gray work shirt, with dark, blue jeans, as well as black work shoes, His shirt also had a name tag on it, though I couldn't tell what it said from my distance. He was carrying a tablet too.
"Hey!" I called to him as I started walking up the steps.
The guy turned to me as I neared him, he really didn't have much emotion on his face. It's like, it was there, but it was nothing.
"How are you doing?" I asked him as I reached the patio.
The guy shrugged. "Fine I suppose."
"No surprise there, he isn't much of a talker." I thought to myself.
"I been searching all over this island for clues, but really haven't found anything."
The guy nodded. "Same with me pretty much, whoever brought us here hasn't shown us too much."
"Right." I agreed. "By the way, I'm Natalie Bowie, Ultimate Receptionist."
The guy closed his eyes for a second, before reopening them. "I'm RK Manning, they call me the Ultimate Janitor."
"Ultimate Janitor, huh?"
RK turned his head away. "Yeah I know, nothing to brag about. I honestly didn't plan to get an ultimate talent, and really don't care about the whole thing, but at this point, it is all I can do really."
"What do you mean?"
RK slowly turned his head back to me. "Not that I feel like sharing my life story, but pretty much, I'm just the best at cleaning. I got a job at a grocery store to support my family, who is extremely poor. And like I said, I just turned out to be good enough to get an ultimate title, as well as an invitation to join Future Hope Academy."
"Well, you should definitely feel proud about that."
RK shrugged. "What's there to be proud about? Yeah, I may always have a job as a janitor, but what's so amazing about that? I'll just be doing the same stuff I always do each day to make sure my family doesn't starve."
I started to feel bad for RK. "Well, working for your family is always honorable, I admire that."
RK looked away again. "Yeah thanks, but I know it won't matter in the end. I'll just be a janitor, nothing more."
Before I could say anything else, RK started to walk past me, and down the patio stairs. I watched him for a bit, before checking out the patio myself.
"Poor guy." I thought to myself. "I totally relate to not feeling special due to the talent I have, but I still have hope and motivation for the future, while RK thinks he'll just be a janitor."
After checking out the patio, I headed inside to the hotel. Once I was inside, I realized I was in a small lobby. It had some lamps, a couch, some chairs, and a front desk. There was also another girl in the hotel lobby. She was tall, and I mean tall. She was definitely taller than me. She appeared bald and was wearing a camo hat. She had on a brown tank top and camo shorts, as well as black outdoor boots. In her hands was a tablet, but both of her arms were bandaged up, like both of them were entirely bandaged up.
"Hey there!" she greeted.
I was honestly a bit intimidated by her, and I'm pretty tall myself. "Hi..."
"What's your name?"
"...Natalie Bowie...I'm the...Ultimate Receptionist."
"Nice to meet you Natalie, I'm Irene Blair, you can call me the Ultimate Wilderness Survivor." Irene walked over and offered her bandaged hand for a shake.
I slowly grabbed it and we shook, I was still a bit intimidated by Irene.
"You're a cute one, you know that." smiled Irene.
"Uh, thanks." I replied while taking a small step back. If she was flirting with me, it only makes me more intimidated by her."
"Haha, relax hun! I'm just trying to lighten the mood a bit, but if you are down, we can definitely talk later."
"Help me!" I cried to myself.
"Anyway." stated a now serious Irene. "Time to get down to business, have you found anything that can be used to help everyone out?"
"Um...No...I'm just as in the dark as you are." I answered.
"I see, well keep it up Natalie, while I don't know at all what is going on, I know we're in for a rough time. You don't just abduct a bunch of ultimate students without some sort of sinister motive. We're gonna need to be prepared for anything, which could be living on this island for a while, or even fighting whoever brought us here."
"Living here and fighting anyone are two things I don't want to do at all." I thought to myself.
"Well I'm gonna keep up the search else where, I already checked all over this hotel. Suit yourself if you wanna look yourself, but it is really just a bunch of hotel rooms. I'll see you later hun."
Irene gave me a soft slap on the shoulder, and then ran out the door before I could do or say anything.
"What a character." I thought to myself.
After my encounter with Irene, I headed for the door that lead to the few upper floors and all the rooms that was by the front desk. There was a decent amount of hotel rooms, but they were all the same. They were all small rooms with a bed, and that was pretty much it. After I ended up on the last floor and I was positive I checked everywhere, I headed back down to leave the hotel. As I reached the stairs to that lead to the first floor, I ran into another girl. She was average height, but really colorful. She had long hair that was every color of the rainbow, as well as a multi color dyed shirt. She wore a blue skirt and heels, as well as a silver necklace around her neck that had a multi color heart. She was carrying a tablet as well.
The girl smiled at me. "Hello there dear, how are you doing?"
"I'm doing fine." I replied. "And yourself?"
"Most people would be scared to death in this situation, but I'm honestly doing wonderful."
I frowned. "Why wonderful?"
The girl opened her arms up. "Look around you my dear, the beach, the water, the sand, this island itself. It is all just so beautiful and inspiring for inspiration!"
"...Okay..." I didn't really know what she was talking about.
She continued to smile. "I'm Bridget Silver, the Ultimate Graphic Designer, being artistic is what I live for."
"Natalie Bowie, Ultimate Receptionist."
Bridget continued to smile as she reached a free hand over to my hair and gave it a stroke. "Nice to meet you Natalie, beautiful hair you have as well."
"Thanks" I slowly moved my hair away so she would stop stroking it. While Bridget definitely was very pretty, her excitement was too much for me."
"Sorry if I invaded your space there dear, your hair is just so beautiful, I'm definitely getting inspired to do a project based upon it."
"I don't think I want any part of me to be any kind of inspiration for something this girl creates!" I thought to myself.
Bridget looked at her tablet. "I sure hope I can get all my programs on this thing, I really wanna design some art!"
"I see." I replied. "Well, I'm gonna continue my search. There wasn't anything useful in these hotel rooms."
Bridget's eyes lit up. "If you say there isn't anything in the hotel rooms, then I don't need to bother looking there! Therefore, I'm gonna go get some more inspiration!"
Bridget turned around and ran down the stairs and out the door, I didn't even hear it shut.
"How can she run that fast in heels?" I asked myself.
Shaking the question out of my head, I headed down the stairs to the lobby, and out the front door of the hotel. After walking out, I headed down the patio stairs, and headed for the beach.
The beach was, well a beach. It was indeed beautiful like Bridget said, but it was just sand and water. As I walked along the beach, I looked at the water.
"Where are we?" I asked myself. "How far away are we from civilization?"
As I continued to walk along the beach, I ended up at what appeared to be a campfire area. It had many rocks to sit on, and a bunch of wood in the middle that I assumed was firewood. A guy sat there at the campfire area. He was just a little shorter than average height with spiky black hair. He was wearing a plain, orange t-shirt with brown khaki pants, as well as red sneakers. He had a tablet too.
"Hey!" I greeted as I got closer to him.
The guy looked up and smiled at me. "Hello."
"I'm Natalie Bowie, the Ultimate Receptionist."
"It's a pleasure to meet you Natalie, my name is Raj Griffin, I'm the Ultimate Collector."
"Ultimate Collector?"
Raj stood up excitingly. "You won't believe the collection I have! It truly is my life's work, no! It is my life!"
"Okay then..."
"Why is everyone here either an asshole, weirdo, or too excited?" I asked myself.
"What do you collect?" I asked.
"Action figures, trading cards, models, comic books, t-shirts, video games, movies, posters, plushies.."
"Okay!" I cut in. "Wow Raj, that truly is awesome, how'd you get famous from your collection?"
Raj smiled so big. "I showed off to the world just how valuable my collection is, and it just became a hit! I take my collection to events, as well as keep it updated online through blogs, podcasts, etc. I truly have the most valuable and beloved collection out there."
Raj seemed so happy and proud of what he does, which is good for him I guess, but we had bigger fish to fry at the moment.
"That truly is awesome Raj, and we can talk more about it later. But right now we should shift focus to this island, do you have any idea what's going on here?"
Like a light switch being turned off, Raj appeared to lose all the juice he just had. "No, I got no idea."
"Nothing at all?"
"Nope, nothing at all."
"I see" I replied, while mentally groaning.
"Why do I feel like this guy has done nothing but think about his collection?" I asked myself.
"You know, I really do miss my collection though." stated Raj. "I hope we can get out of here soon, I really need to get back home to it."
"What a surprise?!" I thought to myself.
"Well nice talking with you Raj, but I'm gonna keep checking out this beach."
Raj nodded. "Pleasure is all mine Natalie, we can talk more about my collection later." He gave me a wave and started to walk away from the campfire area.
I continued walking myself, but I didn't take too many steps, as someone came flying down from the air, and landed right in front of me on the beach. It was a girl. She was a little more on the shorter side with medium blonde hair, with two blue streaks in the black. She wore tights that were yellow on the top, which were sleeveless, and green on the bottom that covered her whole legs. She was barefoot, and also had a tablet with her. She turned to me with a big, happy smile on her face.
"Oh yeah! That was so awesome!" she exclaimed.
"What was?" I asked in confusion.
"My jump! Well, it wasn't the most exciting jump I did, but it was still awesome!" She started rocking her hands around.
"Why me?" I asked myself.
The girl set her attention back on me. "Oh yeah! By the way, name's Sam Robinson! I'm the Ultimate Acrobat!"
"...Nice to meet you Sam, I'm Natalie Bowie, the Ultimate Receptionist." I returned the greeting.
"Hell yeah Natalie! Ready to have some fun on this island?!"
"What? No, Sam, we need to figure out why we were brought to this island."
'Right, right, I haven't forgotten about that. Relax girlfriend."
"You're telling me to relax?!" I thought to myself.
Sam started jumping around. "I know, I know, we'll figure out why we all woke up in those huts, but for now, why not have fun?!" She started jumping around and doing a lot of cartwheels, handstands, etc.
I was actually really impressed with her skills. "Do you also do gymnastics?"
Sam got back on her feet and shook her head. "I know enough to at least be considered for the title of Ultimate Gymnast, but I never focus on that. I'm an acrobat to the very end! I spend my days performing at my circus! I'm always the star of the show!"
"I can definitely see why, you're really talented."
That brought an even bigger smile to Sam's face. "Awl! Thanks Natalie!"
I then got serious again. "But for now, we should all really be focusing on this situation. We need to get off this island."
Sam started nodding her head really fast. "Right, right, right! Right you are Natalie! I'll go explore over there, and we'll chat again later!"
Sam gave me a fast hug, and then went running across the beach, while doing various tricks all the way. I watched her for a bit, she truly is amazing with her skills. After Sam was gone, I explored the rest of the beach. There wasn't much to see at all, it was just a beach. I did however find a cave on the side of the beach, but it was literally pitch black in there, and I did not feel like exploring it alone. Perhaps I could find some of the others and we can explore it together.
Speaking of the others, I realized I must of met all of my classmates. There was eighteen huts, and I met seventeen other ultimates, so that was everyone. While walking back across the beach, I started to get nervous again, so I played with my ponytail to help calm me down.
"What the hell is going on here?" I thought to myself.
I made my way back to the hill where the hotel was. I sat down on the grass, and stared at my tablet. The stupid thing still wouldn't turn on.
"When will you turn on?" I asked myself.
"Attention students!" shouted an unknown voice that must of reached over to the whole island.
"Huh?!" I gasped in shock as I fell over onto my ass, my tablet hitting me in my face. "Ow!"
"Mic check! Mice check! This thing on?! Hello?! Anyway, I think you investigated enough, and you all must of met each other by now. Everyone meet at the beach right away! It's showtime!"
I quickly got back on my feet, angry about what happened, so I quickly played with my ponytail to calm me down. After that, I stepped back onto the beach, and waited for my classmates, and whoever put us on this island.
"Here we go." I said out loud.
