Chapter Nine- Weapons Free

Second Person Start

The next day

The grizzly reached into his pocket and grabbed his vibrating phone, opening the flip phone and carefully putting it to his ear "Redbone, what've you got?" He spoke coldly "just checking in, heard you called SAS on this" Frederick Manson sighed, blowing out smoke from his cigar "yeah, the safehouse you found is being raided when they arrive" he could hear the wolf drinking something on the other end "you think it's a setup?" "Well there's no going back now, tell everyone to keep looking and doing surveillance, and tell Belic to try and contact some of these bastards" the wolf on the other end bit his lip.

"Pose as a terrorist?" Charlie Redbone asked his superior "it may be our only way of finding more of these safehouses, they're guaranteed to be on their toes after this operation" the wolf couldn't help but laugh "bet your ass they will, what about the ZPD?" The wolf's question created a momentary silence "their all caught up, SWAT is working with the SAS too" the wolf tilted his head and adjusted his sitting position "I want in on this sir" this also made his superior silent "as a sniper?" He nodded to the phone "yes sir" the captain on the other end seemed to agree "alright Charlie, you're with me on this" the young wolf nodded "where?" "The police station, won't be there but officers Wilde and Hopps are with you too on this, Bravo 0-6 out"

Charlie Redbone was relatively young for his profession and running into such a deadly soldier at that, meeting Captain Fredrick Manson at the age of 20 after his first bust of an arms dealer in the Middle East, he thinks that the captain saw potential in how devoted he is and was to the job, offering him to join his task force for the time being.

As he got his bags and put on his uniform, he knew that the officers he'd be working with have probably never cleared a house before . . . Or even fired an actual gun for that matter, but over the five years he's worked with him he's learnt that you should almost always trust Manson. The wolf was ages younger than the grizzly yet he could still get his ass kicked by him in less than a minute, he respected that just like his superior respected him.

Redbone had many trades, negotiator, demolitions expert, but the most important one in his opinion was as a sniper, he still is one of the best shots in the British SAS and was very proud of that. Being born in North London to a military family he had pride in joining the Royal Marines in 1997 and was such a good sniper that a few years later in 2002 he was offered to be part of the British Special Air Service. After months of training he would be sent on his first mission to the Middle East, where coincidentally he met his superior.

He managed to get lucky due to his clearances and not be funneled into the so-called "Happytown" specifically for predators, it was worse than living anywhere he could think of in the world. Walking out of his apartment with a black duffle bag and aviator glasses, he was off to the Zootropolis Central Police Station, in uniform of course.

No matter where he went he always found Zootopia a bit shady, he felt like every prey animal on the street was watching him as his eyes bounced from left to right in his eye sockets, all this just to get to his car.

The ride itself wasn't a very long one and soon enough he was parked in front of the police station, there was a large gaping hole in the side of the station as a result of the nearly 500 pound bomb going off inside. He wondered both how terrorists managed to get their hands on military grade explosives and most importantly, how the chief of police survived, to him it was nothing short of a mericle.

As he walked up the steps an officer stopped him "authorized personnel only, you can't be here" the wolf pulled out his ID "sergeant Charlie Redbone, SAS" the tiger took the ID and looked at it closely "huh, didn't expect you to be here already, the chief's office is inside to the left" he spoke pointing a claw to his left and handing the wolf back his ID.

"Oh no I'm looking for Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps?" The officer nodded "don't know exactly where they are but you'll find those two around eventually" he spoke as if it were a matter of fact "uh thank you" the wolf said walking through the doors and past the front desk, it was unmanned which was odd.

As Redbone walked around carrying his duffle bag he was stopped by the fox he was sent to find "what's in that bag?" The wolf pulled out his ID again "no worries, it's Charlie from the bar in Happytown" Nick Wilde seemed to understand "then Manson sent you here then" Judy Hopps spoke it more as a statement than a question, Redbone nodded "yeah, my rifles in here"

Second Person End

Charlie Redbone's point of view

"Glad that we're acquainted then" Wilde said beginning to walk "where are you gonna be when it happens?" Hopps asked as I looked around, wherever I'll get a good shot of these bastards "a sniper?" Wilde added. Your officers can rely on me, are you joining the SAS teams? Wilde nodded "definitely" you know CQB tactics? "Of course! I don't know about Nick though" "I'll be fine" I nodded, good, let's arm up.

The fluorescent lights of the ZPD armory lit up as the trio of mammals entered, the ZPD had many lethal options readily available to them in case things went very wrong, from assault rifles and submachine guns to light machine guns and high caliber sniper rifles. Charlie Redbone had no need to pick anything up though, his 50 caliber Barret M107 sniper rifle was his own, it was reliable, silenced and very lethal even to a rhino or elephant if hit in the head, for larger mammals his secondary was an SAS issued Rey-tac Anti Material Rifle, loaded with enough firepower to pierce through a civilian truck and come out the other side still with enough velocity to damage a brick wall, though this rifle definitely couldn't be silenced without affecting its bullet velocity drastically which was already very slow.

Nick Wilde chose the standard Mp5k submachine gun, which was one of his all time favorites after seeing it in so many films and video games, this was also silenced, had a 40 round magazine and had a single fire mode for close quarters combat, his secondary was the standard Beretta M9 pistol with a 12 round magazine, as he loaded he attempted to make the iconic slap on the Mp5 but failed, causing his partner to laugh.

Judy Hopps didn't have many lethal options except for side arms but took an Mp7 submachine gun, a fast fire rate and its compact package made it ideal for a doe like her, having a silencer and 37 round magazine as well as a skeleton stock, she was locked and loaded for this mission, even though she never had to use a lethal weapon she had a very good idea of how to use a gun.

"What now?" The fox asked as the wolf slowly put on a bullet proof vest and then the top of his uniform over it "now . . . ? We wait for the rest of the SAS to arrive" as if it were not a coincidence, Frederick Manson walked in with ten other mammals.
