Chapter Eleven- Tea Time

August 12th, 11 AM

"And now ZNN was just made aware of Breaking News, a bloodbath at an apartment building in Savannah Central today as authorities arrived at a crime scene where reportedly over ten mammals were killed last night, all alleged to be victims of gunshot wounds. The chief of police had this to say about the incident"

"Right now we are unsure of any suspects but this will be an ongoing investigation"

Charlie Redbone turned off the television as he laid in bed with his pajamas still on, he was quite impressed on how quickly things get on the news in Zootopia "Jesus, it's all over the flippin telly" he spoke as he finally decided to get out of bed. As his feet landed on the carpeted bedroom he looked out his window and sighed, the streets were far more packed than they could ever be in London, he knew it'd be a hassle walking to the place he and his partners had in mind, but before he could walk out of the apartment, he obviously had to get dressed.

Grabbing a set of civilian clothes, he stepped in front of the mirror to get an idea of how it'd look on him, he sighed though as he looked at himself in the mirror. One would expect a renowned SAS operative to be in mint condition, perfectly fit with a six pack and whatnot, however Charlie Redbone had been realizing that he has quite a bit of chub on his stomach, not nearly enough to affect his performance but it still worried him, it had a sort of small oval shape to it and his daily exercising proved feeble against the access fat on him, almost as if his own body was mocking him. It didn't seem that much noticeable but it not only worried him every time he looked at himself in the mirror, it angered him, he just hoped it'd go away soon.

He pulled on his outfit and his facial expression changed immediately to a smile as he walked into his bathroom and brushed his teeth, then took a hot shower before breakfast. Within 30 minutes he was ready to go out and meet with his partners.

As he walked out of his apartment and onto the sidewalk he grabbed his phone and called his other partner, Micheal Bellic, the sheep picked up immediately "Bellic" "Redbone" the sheep answered as if he were expecting his call "how's your progress?" The wolf asked as he stuck his paw in his ear to clean it "well . . . I think I've found something but it's still a longshot, the ZPD's aware I'm posing as one of these terrorists so . . ." "Have you sent them anything?" "no, but I'm assuming the case everyone's all over was Manson's work" the wolf nodded "yeah, I'm just checking in" "don't be a stranger Charlie, be safe" his colleague said before hanging up.

The wolf looked both ways before entering the large shop the three had agreed on, sitting at a table near the middle of the windows of the building and waiting for his partners to arrive. Over that ten or so minutes, he'd already ordered some tea and crumpets, as well as scrolled on his phone before at the corner of his eye he could see two mammals in uniform walking into the store, he raised his head and waved at the two officers as they looked around.

Second Person end

Nick's point of view

I'm surprised you beat us here Charlie, we both took seats across from him "Well I got up early for what happened yesterday, can say the same for you" he said sipping his cup "did you see the news?" Yeah, I was expecting the scene to be cleaned by this morning but I guess somebody stumbled upon it "how many mammals did we kill last night?" More than enough that's for sure, I said leaning back, hearing Charlie laugh "I'm sure that they won't be the only ones you'll be killing" "wait what? Why?" Cause . . . "Because these mammals are terrorists Mrs Hopps and they'll no doubt be willing to die for their cause, just like last night" we've gotta be ready to get our hands dirty, he nodded.

Speaking of, what's been going on? Charlie tilted his head and put the cup down "well these terrorists are definitely aware someone's after them now" what about the intel? "Still nothing" "it's gotta be big though" Judy added, I'm sure it is, I'm just wondering when they're going to strike next, I said glancing at the TV ". . . They have to make a move, especially if one of their key members is compromised" cut loose ends? "Maybe but terrorists are unpredictable, the captain is right when he's saying we have to be prepared for the worst" what do you mean by "the worst?" Another attack? He sighed "possibly but if that's the case, we don't have any idea where" Judy looked concerned "it'd be a catastrophe" he nodded.

Kay, so we don't have any reliable intel yet so . . . What do we do in that case? Charlie pointed his thumb to himself "that's what the SAS is here for" "so we just let you deal with it?" Judy asked confused "your forgetting that you two are working with the SAS, in the case of an attack there's no doubt that the captain would call you" I grinned, dunno "no, especially after last night, I was impressed" thanks, but that doesn't answer the question "well from the attack at Palm Springs we know that we should be expecting some form of Night Howler serum" "a bioterror attack on a highly populated district would be a disaster" far more than that, I added "exactly, we may have some idea on where an attack could be but other than potential districts, we're blind" and this is all a what if too, we should keep that in mind, Charlie nodded "I'm sure the Captain knows that's a possibility" I bet that too.

Second person start

Judy Hopps was still unsure about this entire thing, she could definitely operate with special forces but to her this case had turned into something much worse than the missing mammals cases ever was, even a normal police case for that matter. All of this talk about terrorists did nothing but put her on edge, knowing the risks of normal police work, operating with the SAS upped the possibility of death much higher but she didn't quite care, this was a very real threat that could affect everyone in the country and she definitely wouldn't let something like that happen on her watch.

She also couldn't deny she was enjoying it a bit, the events of last night held more suspense and danger than anything she had encountered in her over three years of police experience. It was also one of the more serious situations she and Nick have been in for a while, and she was definitely willing to take these risks.

Nick Wilde was also very concerned by what his new partner was telling him "you're telling us something like that could happen as a response to last night?" The wolf nodded "it's possible, but yes" however after hearing that, Nick got angry "and we're fucking blind on this too?" The fox pounded the table "we are right now Nick, our only weapon now is to be prepared for . . ." He pounded the table again "for what!? How the hell are we going to be prepared for some shit like that?!" Without any explanation, the wolf grabbed the officer by the collar of his uniform, almost pulling the fox over the table "not here Wilde" he spoke baring his teeth.

"Sit down and get it together" instead of following the order, the fox got up as his partners looked at him "and do what? Sit around when something like that can happen at any minute?!" Charlie got up as well "just because we don't have intel now, doesn't mean we won't have it soon . . . Now sit. The fuck down" Nick only stood there for a few seconds and breathed, before following the snipers order. Nick looked at the wolf and shook his head "have you narrowed it down even slightly?" "Nick we can't talk about that here, you know it" Judy spoke, seeing herself as the voice of reason, that only made the fox stand up again and grab his coffee "fine, then let's find a place where we can" and then stormed off.

"Bloody 'ell" "we should follow him" Judy said as the wolf got up and mumbled "wasn't planning on letting 'em storm off" Judy followed her partner out of the shop, coffee in hand. Nick needed to calm down, this was very close to home for him, having a terrorist group that could cause mass panic anywhere at any time and having allies with no idea where. The Night Howler case showed him just how easily that drug could be used to create mass hysteria not just in the city, but throughout the entire country, but after the blind rage and anger was set aside he realized what Charlie was saying, only a bit.

"Nick! For fucks sake Nick!" He turned to see his two partners running toward him, Charlie had a very aggravated expression on his face "look, before you say anything I . . ." Nick was cut off by the wolf now in front of him "calm the 'ell down and listen" he put all his words to rest and stepped back "I can understand why you're all angry but what I was trying to was is . . ." The wolf was cut off this time.

Nick spoke what he now understood "We might have information when we're debriefed . . . I stepped out of line" Nick could hear Charlie take a breath of relief "definitely did, you could've blown our entire operation right there! Or even worse, make everyone in that store panic!"

The doe rabbit beside the two began to get impatient and took it amongst herself to get the solution "Alright enough arguing! Break it up!" Judy said authoritatively as she went in between the two predators and stretched her arms out, the motion worked as the two backed off and Charlie seemed to calm down "but . . . That's a rookie mistake, and you two are rookies" Nick nodded.

"Alright . . . So we're good?" The wolf nodded also "yea, but if that happens again and you're off, clear?" Nick sighed "crystal" the wolf nodded again "good, we should go, we're getting debriefed soon" the wolf said as the two others followed.
