Of Toy Soldiers
(Let's Play A Game #41)

The sight that greeted him behind the door was nothing if not endearing. Estel sat on the floor, engrossed in a game of his own devising. He must have found some of his and Elladan's very old toys somewhere in the study for he was playing with a wooden elven knight and his horse, making the appropriate neighing and prancing sounds while he moved both across the floor and through the air.
Elrohir closed the door behind himself and Estel looked up. "'Ro!" he shouted with joy but did not get up, too engrossed in his little knight's adventure to abandon his game. The younger twin settled on the ground beside his brother, watching Estel with fondness and a hint of nostalgia. He could remember playing with these very toys together with Elladan. Their elven knight had faced the scariest of dragons, vicious orcs and terrifying wraiths.
He picked up the elven warrior as Estel abandoned it for a moment, twirling it in his fingers. "So, this is?"
"Glorfindel!" Estel answered without hesitation, snatching the knight with its yellow-painted hair from Elrohir's fingers so that he might face a Balrog – Elladan's finely carved quill holder. The wooden figure seemed to be losing and Elrohir almost winced - it might be better if Glorfindel did not find out about this particular game.
"Perhaps, Glorfindel needs help from Asfa…" but before he could finish his suggestion Estel interrupted.
"That," he declared seriously, indicating the wooden toy horse, "is Erestor."
