Despicable Thomas, Grus On Sodor Chapter 1
Welcome to the Island of Sodor, an island surrounded by beautiful blue seas. It has fields of green and sandy, yellow beaches. Castles to explore and bustling docks where giant cranes lift and load cargo from large ships. There are rivers, streams, and lots of trees where the birds sang. There are windmills, and a coal mine, and docks where visitors from the island arrived. The island has lots and lots of railway lines. Thomas the Tank Engine, a small blue train with six wheels, a short stumpy funnel, and a number one on each side of his body. Thomas loved working on his Branch Line for many years, pulling his faithful coaches Annie and Clarabel.
Meanwhile a family was getting ready to go to Sodor on vacation. That family was no other than the Gru family. There was, Felonius Gru, the grumpy one, who everyone called him by his surname, His twin brother, the cowardly one, his wife, Lucy the loyal, happy go lucky and goofy one, and their three daughters and nieces in Dru's case. The girls had been living in Miss Hattie's Home For Girls when they were orphans until Gru had adopted them and they had become sisters, Margo was the eldest sister and was super intelligent for her age. She was generally a nice girl, though sometimes she could be headstrong whenever she set her mind on something she wanted which usually got her into trouble with consequences to think about.
Margo also had a mental health disorder called PTSD where she found hard to act mature sometime and be prone to nightmares about monsters and be scared more easily than most people would. But she did her best to fight through whatever difficulties she came to face and be brave whenever possible. Edith was the middle sister and the tomboyish type and liked to play all sorts or pranks. She was the least explored of the three sisters, which was understandable for someone who is the middle child, the likes of which are stereotypically neglected by their parents. Then there was Agnes, the youngest sister who loved unicorns cos she found them so fluffy and cos she was such a cutie and innocent child, Agnes believed herself to be a maiden pure of heart.
They had also brought Lucky, the hyperactive family goat with them as well as the simple-minded yellow creatures known as minions who spoke in their own language, called minionese. The other remaining pets included two dogs called Kyle and Blondie. No one knew what sort of dog Kyle was apart from he looked like a blue creature. Blondie, the other dog was a golden retriever who had been adopted by the Gru family after she had saved Margo from drowning who had fallen into the River Charles after Blondie's previous owners, Rabble and Babble had thrown Margo over the edge of the Longfellow Bridge that crossed the River Charles after an incident in the park. Blondie never liked Rabble and Babble anyway.
Gru and his family were loading his airship ready for their vacation to the Island Of Sodor. When everyone and everything was on board, Gru locked the house and started up his airship. The jet-engines came whooshing into life as the airship took off into the sky. ''Sodor! Sodor! Sodor!'' chanted the girls as the airship soared over the Atlantic Ocean all the way from US to UK. Meanwhile on the Island Of Sodor, Thomas The Tank Engine was working on his branch line, pulling his faithful coaches, Annie and Clarabel when he saw his friend, Bertie The Bus driving along the road that ran parallel to the track. "Hello? Bertie!" called Thomas, cheerfully. "Hello, Thomas. Wanna race?" asked Bertie. "You're on!" said Thomas, ''Ready, steady go!''.
Thomas always had to start off slowly, but this time he tricked Bertie into taking a short cut. But the bus wasn't giving up that easily. "Thomas! Slow down! You're bumping the passengers about!" shouted Annie. But Thomas wasn't listening. ''You know your passengers don't like being bounced about like peas in a frying pan!'' added Clarabel. Still ignoring, Thomas just laughed and picked up speed, trees whizzing by on all sides. The sound of his intense chugging had startled Bertie. He heard Thomas and revved his own engine and set off at speed. VROOM! "Maybe you should just give up now, Bertie! You know I'm gonna win!" laughed Thomas. "You won't if you don't look where you're goin'!" said Bertie and chuckled.
Up ahead there was a red signal, James was coming the other way! But Thomas didn't care! He ignored the red signal and continued to race. "AAAIIIGHHHH!" cried James when he saw Thomas and applied his brakes. Thomas zoomed past him. "THOMAS!" yelled James, angrily. Up ahead was a level crossing. There was Bertie fuming at the gate while Thomas sailed gaily through. "See ya later, Bertie!" he called. "Grrrr" growled Bertie. Thomas still in top gear, huffed and puffed all the way to Knapford Station. The Fat Controller was waiting for him. He was NOT pleased at all when he caught a phone call from the station masters. "Thomas! I had nothing but complaints on your Branch line and safety comes first on my railway! No engine is allowed to pass through a red signal!" he said, sternly,
"And on top of that, you've made all the passengers sick and dizzy!". The passengers complained as they staggered off the train. "Awesome! Do it again!" came a little girl's voice. Thomas tried to explain, "I'm really sorry, sir. I was just having a race with Bertie and...". "Don't give me your excuses, Thomas! I hope you can be more responsible tomorrow!" interrupted the Fat Controller, rudely. "Yes, sir. Will do, sir" sighed Thomas. The guard's whistle blew and Thomas tooted his whistle and chugged away. Unseen by the engines and the humans, two fierce-looking diesel engines watched from their hiding spot. Diesel engines were much different than the steam engines. "Look at those silly steamies, Diesel," the enormous diesel named Diesel 10 growled to his companion.
