Author's Note: This story was written for the Reverse Supercorp Big Bang in which writers chose fanarts that they wanted to write stories about. Since I love the Assassin's Creed games, and was playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla at the time, I jumped at the chance to write a Supercorp story within the Assassin's Creed world. This one is set within Assassin's Creed Valhalla, as I had finished it not long before getting this one to write. I used two characters from the game, but it doesn't follow the storyline of the game, so you will not be spoiled if you read this before playing the game. I mostly just used the world. There is a map I used of the map in the game to figure out specific places though that you can look up to use.

This is the third story of the three I did for the big bang, but unlike the other two, this one was right up my alley. I decided to write within the mystery/angst genres that I love too much. It's a little crazy how much I like those genres but it worked so well for this story, so I had to do it. I tried my best to keep the characters acting like themselves, but we are in an entirely different world, so I'm sorry if it's a little whack. I did however have a lot of fun writing this story. There are some fun bits throughout to offset the drama in it.

While the story is set in 700A.D, the communication doesn't reflect it. So if you're hoping for some old timey speak, you will not get it.

I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I had writing it.

An Assassin's Journey to the Truth

Chapter 1 - A New Friend

It was in the year 700A.D. in the region of England, during the Viking era, Lena Luthor roamed the area trained as a spy for the Luthor Kingdom. She was adopted into the Luthor family at the young age of four when her mother was killed. Her biological father Lionel had been killed a couple years ago, which pushed Lillian Luthor into the position of Queen of Jorvik.

In the northern region of the map, Jorvik was one of the bigger cities in England. It was a little bigger than the other cities of Lunden in the middle of the map, and Wincestre in the southern region of England.

Her half-brother Lex, was heir to the throne, and with that was an Ealderman that would move between villages checking progress of different facilities in each village. Typically an Ealderman had control over a country within the region of England, but the Luthor Kingdom worked a little differently. Lillian was very particular about having everything work in a certain order. Which meant Lex was given a lot more responsibility.

Which was where Lena came in. She was, in basic terms, a nobody. She wasn't directly connected to the lineage of the Luthors, which provided the family with an opportunity they might not have otherwise had.

Ten years ago when she'd hit her fifteenth winter, she had decided she didn't want to be directly connected to the Luthor Kingdom. With the help of a friend of the Kingdom, Fulke, Lena learned how to fight, and how to hide in the shadows. She trained to be the perfect spy for the kingdom so that she could scout ahead of battles, or find information on people they were hunting. She had become a real asset to the kingdom because she had gotten really good at it. Where others might have been caught or killed, Lena used her surroundings to hide in plain sight to get what she was looking for.

This included the mysterious Hidden Ones. They were a secret faction of people known for living in the shadows. It had never been clear where they had come from, or why they existed but at some point their group had been created.

A group bent on destroying The Order of the Ancients.

The Order of the Ancients was the group Lena was a part of. The Luthors were the top heads of this faction. They also worked in the shadows as The Hidden Ones did but their goal was about having control over different parts of the world. This included politics, manufacturing, armies, and more. Anything they could have their hand in, they did. The Order was always about trying to ensure they would be able to provide for the people in the kingdom.

The politics were more her brother Lex's thing, she wasn't much for that part of the order. When she had decided to go her own way, she had a better time. People weren't constantly recognizing her, she could work in the shadows with her different inventions and help the kingdom with information on people.

That was where she excelled. Lillian had encouraged her to delve into her mathematical mind and build different technologies for their kingdom, so when Lena decided to go her own path, she wasn't too happy at first. However, the end result of knowing what other kingdoms were doing before attacking proved more useful than any invention ever could.

So she allowed it. She allowed Fulke to work with Lena to become a better warrior, so that she could hold her own on her own. That way if any of the hidden ones caught her, she'd have a chance of winning the battle.

That, after all, was what this was all about. It was about destroying the Hidden Ones once and for all.

The Hidden Ones killed people. That's what they were known for. Innocent people died at their hands. Which was one of the reasons Lena chose her current path, because this meant that she could potentially get ahead of The Hidden Ones. If she could find a secret, like their new hiding place, or someone connected to them, maybe she could find a weak spot, and end them.

Then the people of the world would be free of this new enemy before they grew in numbers and overwhelmed the world. This was her goal. Find them, and kill them.

XXXXXX

Which brought Lena to Ledecestrescire, she had gotten a report that there might be a hidden one in the area. She wasn't expecting much as her reports generally came long after the hidden one had left the area but she still responded on the off chance the person was still in the area.

She arrived in the town of Repton. Someone from the Order might be in this town, but she wasn't privy to that information. That wasn't why she was there however, she was there on a hunt for someone she hoped to get a lead on. She wanted to be able to prove to her mother that her scouting led to an actual capture or death of a hidden one. While she had been great at finding information on others for the Zealots to hunt down and kill, or spy on other kingdoms, she had yet to find a Hidden One. If she was able to do this one thing, then her mother might take her a little more seriously.

Once within the town she needed to find her contact. They had said in their letter that they worked at the local shop in town.

It didn't take long for her to find the right one, and when she entered, a woman was speaking to the merchant. She had on a long black cloak with golden seams. Lena pulled down the black maskl covering her mouth so she could speak to the merchant once the woman walked away.

The woman turned around, gave a nod to Lena before walking out.

Lena watched the woman leave, getting a brief glimpse of shining blue eyes behind the hood, wondering where she might go. For a moment she contemplated following her, but decided that her mission was more important.

"Welcome to Repton, please take a look at my wares. I have everything from arrows, to swords, even some tattoo templates if you might be interested," The male merchant announced excitedly, hoping to draw her into a purchase.

"I'm not here to purchase anything, are you the one that sent me this letter?" Lena asked, pulling out a note that had been sent to her and showing it to the man.

The man took a look at the letter recognizing the handwriting, "Uh.. Yes, I did send you that letter."

Lena looked at him curiously as he seemed unsure about his answer, but appeared willingly to help nonetheless, "Can you tell me what you saw?" She asked, curious to know more about what he may or may not have seen here in Ledecestrescire.

"In recent weeks, there have been more guards around looking for someone. They keep finding dead guards in tall grass, in hay stacks, even in the open, at times. As if the person leaving them didn't care if the guard was found or not," The merchant explained. "While I do not know if this is what you were looking for, I thought it was something you might be interested to look into."

Lena nodded, "You were right about that. I will speak to the captain here and see if they can tell me what they've been noticing. Thank you for your time." She said as she folded up the note and put it back in her pocket.

"Are you sure I can't tempt you into purchasing anything? Or maybe you might have something to sell?" The merchant asked once more.

Lena thought for a moment, "No, thank you though." She turned to leave walking out of the merchant's store. As she walked out of the store into the street she heard a voice.

"I saw you watching me as I left," the voice said, stepping out of the shadows from across the road.

Those shining blue eyes she'd seen earlier as she entered the shop. "I am sorry, I didn't mean to stare."

"You are not the first and likely won't be the last. Are you new to town?" The woman asked Lena.

Lena looked at the woman from foot to eyes, admiring the sword she had on her left hip, to the shining armour, and the leather bound shoulder guard lined with shiny gold and silver. "I am passing through, how about you?"

The woman shrugged, "Same. The name's Kara… Kara Danvers, and you are?" She put out her hand as she approached Lena.

Lena was taken aback by someone wanting to introduce themselves so quickly that she almost forgot to say her alias, "It's L- Kieran. Kieran." She put out her hand to shake Kara's hand.

"Kieran, nice name," Kara nodded a little slower than was probably necessary so that she could check out Kieran. "I can't say I've seen you around before."

"I haven't been here in a long time, what about you?" Lena asked, trying to see if Kara might be a source for her in this town or not.

"First time, actually," Kara answered, "My duties take me all over the region, I'm just glad I was able to meet you."

"With my own duties, I usually am not able to meet anyone, so this is definitely a nice change," Lena added, feeling some sort of a connection with the woman. She couldn't help but to smile and place a hand on Kara's arm. "With all of this armour, you must be one of those Vikings I've heard about."

Kara smiled, "Such a compliment, but no I am not. I did meet one though, her name was Eivor of the Raven Clan. She was here but has since left the area from my understanding."

Lena nodded, "That is a shame, I would have liked to meet a viking."

"I assure you, I might not be a viking but I have other abilities that you might like," Kara grinned at the idea of showing Kieran what those abilities were.

Lena ran her fingers from Kara's arm up her shoulders, "Is that so?"

Kara grinned at the touch, "You know we could take this somewhere quieter…" She hinted to the idea of rolling in a sack of hay.

"Hm…" Lena hummed at the idea of jumping into bed with Kara so quickly until she spotted whom she believed would be the captain of this town. His armour and the weapon he carried said he was. She needed to catch up to him.

"Is that a no?" Kara asked, hopeful that that's not what was happening here as she pushed down her hood off her head, pulling Lena closer by wrapping an arm around her.

Lena leaned in to kiss Kara, pushing her own hood off, taking it slow, relishing at the feel of Kara's arms around her, their lips moving against each other. It took every ounce of willpower to pull away. She hadn't been in anyone's arms like this in a very long time and she wanted to stay there, but she had places to be. "How about if I see you again, I'll take you up on that offer?" She asked the simple question, hoping that they would run into each other again but doubted it would happen.

"Do you have somewhere to be?" Kara asked, before connecting their lips again. She'd only just met this woman, but something about Kieran made Kara want to hold onto her.

Lena pulled back again, "Yes, unfortunately I do have somewhere to be."

Kara stuck out her bottom lip to pout, "Are you sure?"

Lena was thrown for a loop when this strong woman started pouting in front of her. She actually looked really adorable doing that, "I really wish I could stay here with you and continue this, but I must be on my way."

Kara sighed in defeat, "Fine, but if I see you again, this is happening." She motioned between the two of them. She lifted her hood back up onto her head. "I hope to see you again."

Lena nodded, pulling up her own hood, "I hope so too." She watched Kara turn and walk away from her, disappearing into the crowd of people. She shook her head of the thoughts in her head of this mysterious woman, before she made her way to the captain.

The man who was covered from head to toe in armour, wearing a shining silver helmet turned to Lena who was approaching him, "What are you doing in this town?" He asked not seeing who it was at first.

As Lena walked closer, it became clearer who she was.

"Oh, Miss Lu-"

"It's Kieran here," She hushed him looking around to make sure no one overheard the conversation.

"Kieran, right, how can I help you?" The man asked.

"I am looking for any information on your men disappearing from their posts, being killed and left," Lena asked, wanting as much information as she could get on the hidden one. She couldn't say for sure if it was one of them, but it was the way of their people.

"I am sorry, but there really isn't much to tell, because we find them after they have been long dead," The man answered as best he could. "We have tried increasing patrols, even changed patrol details, but still we keep finding bodies."

Lena's brow creased in annoyance, "Alright. I understand, thank you for your time." She shook her head annoyed that she had walked away from a beautiful warrior woman for nothing. Her head dropped in defeat before she walked away to pick up her horse and head home.

XXXXXX

Lena arrived back in Jorvik about a week later. The clue she had received didn't prove fruitful like she'd hoped. It was just more of the same. People were found dead, with no clue on how they ended up that way. Patrols changed, different guards were put in place, the same always came about. Nothing. She was sure the hidden one had been there at one point. Unfortunately, they weren't there anymore.

She returned home in hopes of seeing if she could see anything from the maps she had requested from the neighbouring village's library. It arrived while she was away.

She opened up one of the newer maps that someone had drawn of the southern part of England in hopes of seeing something new.

"Hmm…" She hummed aloud as she looked up a new part of the map. "Ravensthorpe, that's the new vikingr's I heard about in Ledecestrescire." She thought aloud. There wasn't much to think about as they were a new clan that had come from Norway. She had heard plenty about this particular clan from their contact's in Norway, and for now there wasn't anything to be too concerned about over them.

As she was looking over the map, one of the kingdom's archers walked into the room, "Ms. Luthor?"

Lena looked up from her desk, "Yes?"

"The Queen has requested your presence in her chambers," The archer advised, waiting for confirmation before walking away.

"Thank you," She answered him, before looking back down at the map one more time. I need to figure out where to go next.

Lena stood up from her desk, picking up her two daggers, sheathing them in place on each side of her waist. As she walked over to the entrance to the room she picked up her cloak and tied it around her shoulders. It was a black cloak, with a hood. With that she headed on over to her mother's chambers to find out why she was being summoned.

It took her several minutes to get from her room, all the way up into one of the chambers up several sets of stairs to her mother's chambers. Once she arrived, she knocked, before she heard a 'come in'.

Lena opened the door and walked in, "Mother, you summoned?"

Lillian looked up from her desk full of several different scrolls, "Yes dear. I just received word of our people being slaughtered in Lunden. Would you be able to take a look into it? If I were to put any money on it, it is probably the Hidden Ones again."

"How can you be sure that it is them?" Lena questioned, looking to her mother for answers.

Lillian smirked because it wasn't everyday that someone questioned her command. It was usually her way or death, but Lena was her daughter so she was given leeway. "From my contacts in Lunden, they determined that these people were killed without anyone knowing about it. The only people in this world that kill like that are the Hidden Ones."

"Sounds like them, I will head out immediately," Lena answered.

"Very good, I will expect your report upon your return," Lillian ordered, before waving her away.

Lena turned from her mother, and headed out the door with a smile on her face. She would collect supplies and be on her way to Lunden at once. It would take a couple of days before she arrived, and even if she happened to miss the hidden one again, she was sure she'd get a clue or two to where they were going next.

XXXXXXX

Lena arrived in Lunden about a week later. It was a long trek, but worth it nonetheless. She was sure she'd find some information here somewhere. There had to be someone here in this city that would know of the person or people she was looking for.

Three upstanding citizens of The Order don't get murdered without anyone seeing anything. One of them even worked for the Church, as she had learned before leaving Jorvik.

Before going on a hunt, she decided to get some food at the local bar, have a drink so she could create a plan of attack. There was also the fact that typically the local barkeep knew more secrets than most did because of the people that come into the bar. So she might be able to get an idea of where to go beforehand.

Lena sat down, a stool away from another patron, that looked like they meant business. She pushed down her hood to get a better look trying not to stare. From the armour and weapons they had, the woman looked like she had to be a viking. Maybe from that new clan up north.

The woman had a black cloak on, the seams and ends lined in gold, and from what Lena could see, she had a piece of armour on her right shoulder that looked to have some sort of shape on it. Her hood was down showing her blonde hair pulled back into a long braid flowing down the side of her face.

"Are you going to ask me my name or just stare at me?" The blonde woman asked, before taking a sip from her pint.

Lena was taken aback by the question, she thought she was being careful enough not to be noticed, "Why would you think I was looking at you?" She countered trying to hide her staring, "Can I have a pint?" She asked the barkeep, who nodded.

"Well unless you found something interesting to look at, over there at that empty table, you have to be looking at me," The woman put her glass down and looked toward Lena. "Wait, I know you."

Lena looked back at the woman finally recognizing her, "Kara... Kara Danvers, right?"

"Yes, and you're… Kieran. Yes, I met you in Repton. How have you been?" Kara asked, "I'm kind of surprised I ran into you again. While I had hoped we would, I didn't think it would happen." She stood up and moved a stool over next to Lena.

"Good, and you?" Lena asked, surprised that she ran into this woman again. She had wanted it to happen, maybe get to know her better, but she didn't think it would actually happen.

"Good, a little sore from training today," Kara mentioned offhandedly. She wasn't entirely sure why she mentioned it but she did.

Lena smiled, "You do not look like you need any training," She motioned to all of the gear she had on.

Kara laughed, "You do have a point there. No, I am helping my sister train some of the recruits. See if they are capable of being among our ranks or not."

"So you must be some kind of warrior then?" Lena questioned trying to figure out what kind of work Kara did.

Kara nodded, "Yeah, something like that. I am versed in many different forms of combat. Archery, swordsmanship, throwing knives, that kind of thing."

"I am as well," Lena said excitedly that she ran into someone else that had the same training as she did.

"Good, so the weapons you have on you aren't just for show," Kara patronized, holding back a laugh.

"If you think you're so funny, why don't you prove to me that your weapons aren't just for show?" Lena challenged, wanting to see Kara in action. "You say you were training, but for all I know you fell off a wagon."

Kara stepped down from her stool laughing at the last jab. "Let's do it. There are plenty of things outside we can use for target practice. I bet you a bag of silver that I will win?"

"Okay, and if I lose I'll buy you another pint?" Lena suggested stepping off her stool and following Kara outside the bar.

"Deal," Kara answered as they walked out of the bar. "There are some trees over there, let's use those." She pointed in the direction of some trees not too far behind the bar in a field.

Lena followed her over there, "How about we make this interesting? You say you are skilled in the artform of archery and throwing knives. Let's test that. We'll compete in archery and throwing knives. Two bets. How does that sound, darling?" She asked lifting off her bow from her back.

Kara turned around just as she was about fifteen meters from the trees. "Deal? Can we seal it with a kiss?" She asked more as a joke.

"Sure," Lena agreed to the terms, stepping in close to Kara and connecting her lips with Kara's for a brief kiss. She pulled back moments later, "That's for luck because you are going to need it."

Kara laughed feeling a little dazed from the kiss but tried covering it up by saying, "I don't need luck."

"If you say so," Lena winked, as she stood in place to hold up her bow, her right side faced toward the trees, her front looking toward Kara. "What are the rules?"

"I'm going to assume that you know how to hit the target, so let's say that in this challenge, you have to hit one branch on each tree, before I do?" Kara suggested, feeling confident in her abilities.

"That's too easy. How about we hit a branch on each tree, then have to jump off that rock, and hit that post over there?" Lena turned and pointed to the signpost past the bar behind them.

Kara looked at the trees ahead and then behind her at the signpost, "Deal. Are you ready to lose?"

Lena laughed, "You should be asking yourself that question." She stood back in place, "On your count of three." She said as she lifted her bow into place against her chest, an arrow nocked in the bow.

Kara smiled excited that she met Kieran, someone that wanted to compete for fun. She stood in place lined up with Kieran, "Alright, when I say three. One… Two… Three!"

Arrows flew in the air. Lena's arrow hit the first branch, and so did Kara's. Second tree, the same result, third tree, the same result. Now came the rock. Lena ran jumping up onto the rock, she aimed the bow, letting go of the string mid-air, the arrow flew and connected with the sign, just enough to knock in a little loose.

Kara followed suit, she did the same but instead her arrow slid past the sign by a millimeter. She dropped down, "Dang it."

"I told you," Lena grinned. "While I have daggers, my primary weapon is my bow."

Kara shook her head, "I was sure I'd have you." She did use her bow a lot, but her weapon of choice was typically her hidden blade, but Kieran didn't need to know that.

"Maybe with the throwing knives, but I will say, I do have a way with knives," Lena said, winking again as she pulled out three knives. "So one into each tree then?"

Kara shook her head, "Obviously, that would be too easy for you. How about the fence posts over there? But to make it harder, you have to hit them while running." She added that knowing she'd have an easier chance at this one since she was very rarely standing still when she threw them.

Lena smiled, knowing she'd have a good chance of winning this one as well as she was often on the move when she threw her own. "Alright, to prevent injury, how about you go first?"

Kara grinned, "Sure," She ran off without question, she threw her knives at three separate posts, each connecting with their desired target. She stopped to take a look, "See, what did I tell you?" She asked, picking up her knives as she walked back to Kieran. "Your turn."

"Okay, okay, you made your point," Lena answered as she stood in place holding her knives in her hands. She took off running, all three of her knives connecting with their desired target, she threw a fourth one for extra measure at another post, hitting it as well.

"Show off," Kara berated. "I could have done that," She pointed out as Kieran picked up her knives and walked back.

"Let's say it's a tie-breaker then, and I'll buy you a drink with the silver you owe me for the archery win," Lena bargained, hoping she hadn't hurt Kara's ego.

"Fine, then you can tell me about your life," Kara suggested.

She and Lena walked over and collected their fallen arrows, before they headed back over to the bar.

Once back over they ordered their pints, and found a table to sit at.

"So… You said you have a sister, any other siblings?" Lena asked, wondering how she had found such a person.

Kara shook her head, "She's my only one."

"And your parents, where are they?" Lena asked, curiously as she took a sip of her pint.

The mood dropped around Kara just a little, "My parents died in a fire when I was twelve. Yeah, I know it's not the greatest of stories. My cousin wasn't able to care for me so he took me to the family that I have now."

Lena nodded understanding, "I understand where you're coming from, my mother died when I was four, and while my father and his family took me in, he ended up dying about eighteen winters later."

"Losing a parent isn't easy, but my new family helped me get past it," Kara stated, knowing how lucky she's been since her parents died. She probably wouldn't be who she was right now without them passing away.

"Mine did too," Lena agreed. "They allowed me to become a stronger, more capable woman than I probably would have become without it. So I owe my life to them."

"So what made you decide to train and become stronger?" Kara asked, wondering why Kieran chose the path she's on. She herself had a hard time with it at times because it meant living in solitude.

"I wanted to have a purpose," Lena admitted, drinking from her pint as she didn't know how much she could say to Kara.

Kara nodded, "I get that. It's been nice finding someone that finally gets that."

"Yes it has. Listen, I should be going soon, but maybe we could agree on a place and time, so that if we are both there during that time, we know the other might be there?" Lena suggested.

"That would be great. How about this bar, midday? If we are in Lunden, and aren't busy we will come to this bar for a couple of hours, that way if one of us is late, we'll still see each other," Kara added to the idea.

"That sounds wonderful," Lena nodded in agreement. "I will be in Lunden for a few days so maybe I'll see you tomorrow then?" She asked, standing up from the chair.

Kara stood up with her, "Tomorrow then." She stepped closer pulling Lena into a brief hug, before pulling back to place a kiss on her cheek.

Lena's cheeks dusted pink from the moment, "I'll be seeing you Kara." She said as she turned around to leave, walking out of the bar.

"Bye Kieran," Kara waved even though Kieran wasn't looking at her anymore. She walked toward the bar to drop off their mugs, watching her walk out of the bar. "She was something…" She whispered to herself.

XXXXXX

Lena walked aways from the bar before she leaned up against a building for a moment. She was excited that she'd met someone that finally understood her. They had a similar backstory with what happened to their families, and were strong and capable women that could hold their own in a fight. She didn't know if this would turn into something more or not, but she was open to it.

Okay, back to work, Lena thought to herself. She looked around for the Church where one of the members of the order worked. She hoped she could find some clues there.

She walked through the front doors of the Church, "Sister, would I be able to speak to you?"

"Yes of course," The nun answered before moving off to the side for them to speak.

"Did you know Sister Frideswid?" Lena asked, hoping that this nun would have known her.

"Oh dear Sister Frideswid, she and I were so close, it is a shame what happened to her," The nun answered, confirming that she knew the woman.

"Yes it is," Lena nodded in understanding. "Do you know what happened to her?"

"I heard she was murdered," The nun gasped, "While I wasn't there myself, one of the other sisters had mentioned that they had seen someone lurking in the banisters of the building she was in, before jumping down and stabbing her. Can you believe that?" The nun asked, completely taken aback by the idea of someone lurking in the shadows. "Makes you wonder who else is watching you."

"Yes it does. Do you know where I might speak to that nun, sister?" Lena asked, hoping to get a first hand witness to the event.

"Oh, she is at the church across town, Sister Margaret," The nun answered the question.

"Thank you," Lena said, before she walked away. It was at that point that she felt like eyes were watching her. She looked around but couldn't see anyone, before walking away to locate the church.

It took her a little longer than she would have liked to find the right church but she did find it eventually. It wasn't a church, more of a building that was used for treating illnesses. She walked in looking for the nun the last nun told her about.

"Greetings, what ails you miss?" A man at the front asked her.

"I am looking for Sister Margaret," Lena stated, not answering the man's question.

"Sister Margaret, yes, come this way," The man answered, before turning to walk away.

Lena followed close by.

"Sister Margaret, this miss is here to see you," The man motioned to Lena as the nun looked at him, before he walked away.

"What can I do for you?" Sister Margaret asked.

"I was wondering what you could tell me about what happened to Sister Frideswid?" Lena asked, hoping she would have more details on the person that committed the crime.

"Oh Sister Frideswid, such a shame what happened to her. I was there you know. Saw the whole thing. This hooded person jumped from up in the banisters, stabbed her right in the chest. Deary me," Sister Margaret shook her head at the memory.

"Did you see anything about this person? Any features about them?" Lena asked, hoping to get something from the sister.

"No, sorry, once I saw blood I was out," Sister Margaret answered honestly. "Can't handle the sight of blood."

Lena looked at her confused, because they were standing in a building full of people covered in blood, "Are you sure?"

"I'm sorry dear, I can't tell you what I didn't see," the sister said again. "I will say though, that I- That I- found this note on the ground after I came to."

"A note?" Lena asked, curious about what this could be about.

"Yes, um.. It looked like maybe a meeting place, of some kind. Like maybe two people were meeting there. Would that help?" the sister asked.

Lena nodded, "Maybe, can I see the note?"

Sister Margaret pulled the note from her pocket, unfolded it and handed it to Lena, "Here you are."

Lena took a quick look at it. It had a time and a place on it, "Thank you, Sister," She thanked before she walked out of the church.

The note didn't have a date on it, but even if this is an old note, it might provide something useful, so she chose to follow the note.

It led to an open field just east of Lunden in a swamp type area, just past what used to be an aqueduct. Lena looked around for a tree, because the note specified a tree for the meeting. She didn't see anyone which said to her that the meeting probably already happened.

She had already assumed this would be the case, so she walked over to one of the trees in search of any clues.

"Lena Luthor," A voice said behind her.

Lena, who was crouched down at the tree by this point, looked up at the tree recognizing the voice behind her. She stood up slowly, turning around to face in the direction the voice came from, "I'm sorry?" She asked, playing dumb.

A person was standing in the shadow of the aqueduct, "That is your name isn't it? Lena Luthor. Heir to the Luthor Kingdom after your brother Lex Luthor." The voice said before walking out from the shadow and into the light.

The woman pushed back the hood covering her face.

"Kara…" Lena connected once she saw the person attached to the voice.

"Yes, you know who I am, but it seems I wasn't afforded the same luxury, why is that?" Kara asked.

Lena could see that Kara's entire demeanor had changed from a few hours ago in the bar. She wasn't emanating any sense of softness. At this moment, she looked rough, and angry. "If people knew who I was they would treat me differently. I can't afford that. You must understand."

Kara laughed under her breath, "Oh I understand why you lied."

"Okay, then what is the problem?" Lena asked, not sure how Kara even knew she was here. She hoped they would see each other, she just wasn't expecting it to be so soon.
