Huffing in a rather pompous way Goldstein marched out of the room and could be distantly heard telling someone that he was claiming this room as His. A few minutes later another person entered the room. Smiling softly the boy awkwardly said, "Hi I'm Terry." For a moment Hadrian was confused as too why the boy had introduced himself by his first name when the boy groaned, "Damn it I've mucked it up already." Pausing to take a breath the boy flicked his mop of black hair out his eyes and said, "Sorry for that I'm still learning all the social protocols. My name is Terry Boot from house Boot I am a half-blood and muggle raised by my father as my mum died during the war, so I am still trying to learn about the social culture of my mums world, fortunately I bumped into the Patil twins parents who noticed that I had somehow gotten the wrong list and gave me a copy of their list which has allowed me to begin to learn what is expected of me as a member of the wizarding world and contact my Great Uncle Lord Boot too."

Smiling at the rush of words from the other Boy Hadrian replied, "Hello I'm Hadrian Potter-Black heir of houses Potter and Black and I was muggle-raised to and got the wrong list in my letter too but was saved by Lord Malfoy who gave me a copy of the correct list."

The Boys quickly made friends with Terry quickly placing his name next to Hadrian's on the door. Soon the two boys were discussing how hard it was catching up to the level of learning expected from the other Purebloods and magical raised children before Hogwarts.

When they compared what they had been studying before Hogwarts they were surprised to see that it was exceptionally similar with only the learning about the roles of their houses and family secrets and magic which they only briefly mentioned.

Eventually the prefects came into the room to let them know that it was lights out and the two of them grudgingly climbed into bed and began to whisper too each other only to have the prefect inform them that they needed to go to sleep or they would get Professor Flitwick.

The next morning Hadrian and Boot rushed down to breakfast eager to get their class schedules rushing after a group of older students they made their way to the great hall picking up a few other lost first years from various houses.

Once the arrived in the Great Hall the small group of first years quickly dispersed to their tables rushing to their seats. As Hadrian and Boot sat down at the ravenclaw table the sound of whispers and giggles could be heard with people saying, "Why do you think he wears those robes", "wow I thought that they were only for the sorting ceremony." and "I bet you he's a stuck-up rich boy". Straightening his spine Hadrian took a deep breath reminding himself that if he snapped or confronted them that it could cause more problems later.

Hadrian could see Boot giving him worried looks as he took his anger out on his toast. Eventually everyone stopped whispering about Hadrian's clothing as Professor Flitwick began handing the timetables out. Quickly Hadrian and Boot began examining their timetables, Boot was pleased to see that they where in transfiguration next while Hadrian was a little sad that they had potions on Friday.

On the back of the timetable where some vague directions to each of their classes but the directions came with a lot of caveats such as the main east staircase can be used on Mondays and Fridays until 10:02 and then you have to use the minor west staircase followed by the major north spiral staircase.

With some trial and error and asking a lot of the upper years which staircase was which Hadrian, Boot and another first year who had followed them called Padama Patil, Patil was a cheerful girl who excitedly chatted about how excited she was for their class with the Gryffindor's as her siter had been sorted into Gryffindor.

Picking a desk near enough the front that he wouldn't have difficulty reading the board, with a seat next to it for Boot but far enough back that he had put some distance between himself and Granger who was currently loudly informing the person next to her about how much extra reading she had done for this class.

Eventually Weasley and another boy Hadrian didn't recognise ran into the classroom with seconds to spare.

As soon as the boys sat down the Cat which had been sitting at the front of the classroom morphed into Professor McGonagall who launched into an impressive lecture about the course, safety when practicing transfiguration and an overview of how they will be examined.

This lecture took them until the break and then after break they began their first lesson on transfiguring match sticks into needles and with half an hour before lunch Professor McGonagall said were allowed to begin practicing transfiguring the match into the needle but that she wasent expecting them to complete a full transfiguration today but hopefully they would see that during their Wednesday class.

Looking down at his notes Hadrian first began practicing his pronunciation of the spell pulling out the magical Latin dictionary to double check the pronunciation,

Once satisfied with his pronunciation then Hadrian moved onto practicing the wand movement until he felt satisfied that the wand movement was consistently accurate and smooth.

Placing the match in the middle of the desk Hadrian began practicing, the first few attempts resulted in no change which was rather frustrating so Hadrian returned to his notes and the textbook.

Examining the two he noticed that he was not focused on visualising the image of what he wanted clearly while pulling on his magic.

Returning to his match Hadrian repeated the process and was pleased to see that he had turned the match a silver colour although it was clear that the match was still wood and that he had created a misshapen eye.

Spotting his work Professor McGonagall praised him for his effort and awarded him 5 points to ravenclaw.

I did originally have the Patil Twins as Muslim but they are now Hindu as I have been informed in a couple of messages that they are Hindu.
