Chapter 14-Stranded
Shane's P.O.V
Shane walks up to the Governor's door and knocks. "Philip!" Shane shouts. The door opens, and the Governor looks at him.
"What do you want?" The Governor asks.
"Come on. You need to leave the apartment. You have people to lead," Shane tells him.
"They need a better leader," He tells Shane. "Tiny is in a coma, and good people are dead. That all happened under my watch,"
"Our camp at the quarry got attacked by walkers under my watch, and we lost more people than we did here. We do our best as leaders but sometimes. We can't prevent bad things from happening. People are going to die. We have to try to save as many people as possible. We lost three people. Tiny is still alive. I would say you've done pretty good," Shane tells him. "You won't fix problems sitting inside your house," Shane turns to leave.
"Where did Daryl and the others go?" The Governor asks.
"To check out some hardware stores," Shane tells him. "They are looking for tools and woods," The Governor nods as he shuts the door and looks at Shane. "Show me what has been done," Shane nods as he motions for the Governor to follow him.
Daryl's P.O.V
Daryl shoots a walker as they walk through the streets. He walks up to the walker and grabs the bolt out of its head. "Nice shooting," Rosita tells him.
"Thanks," Daryl says as he reloads the crossbow. He looks around and sees a clinic. "Come on. Let's go check that place out," Rosita nods as she follows him to the clinic. He walks to the door and sees walkers pressing themself up against the door.
"We still going in there?" Rosita asks him. Daryl nods.
"Yeah, we need more supplies. We used a lot of it after the shootout," Daryl says. "Open the door," Rosita nods as she pulls her knife out. Rosita opens the door. The walkers start to come out of the building. Daryl shoots a walker in the head as Rosita shuts the door. Rosita stabs a walker in the back of the head as Daryl shoots another walker in the head. Daryl puts his crossbow on his back and pulls his knife out. He stabs a walker in the eye as Rosita stabs the last one in the head. Daryl pulls his flashlight out. "Come on," Daryl says as he leads her inside.
Abraham's P.O.V
Abraham stops the truck outside a small warehouse. "Well, this isn't a hardware store," Alisha says.
"No, but it might have what we need," Oscar says as he pulls his knife out. Abraham pulls out a machete as Alisha pulls out a knife.
"Let's go rattle the shit," Abraham says as he walks up to the door. He hits the door. He hears nothing and opens the door. The warehouse was dark. Oscar pulls out a flashlight and hands it to Abraham, who shines it in front of him. Abraham walks inside and shines the flashlight around. He covers his nose.
"God, what is that smell?" Alisha asks.
"I don't want to know," Abraham says as he walks forward. He shines his flashlight around the shelves and sees nothing. He shines his light forward and stops. "I found the smell," Oscar and Alisha look at him.
"Jesus," Oscar says as they look at a group of walkers crushed by a shelf. Some of them were still alive, crawling at them. Abraham goes up to a walker and stabs it in the head. Alisha and Oscar follow him and start to stab the walkers.
"You think someone did this?" Alisha asks.
"Maybe," Abraham says. "If so, let's get this done quickly," Oscar and Alisha nod as they start to look around the warehouse. Abraham looks at some metal panels on the other side of the warehouse.
"This should help. We can use them to reinforce the walls and make our defenses stronger," Alisha says.
"We should take one to show the others," Oscar says. Abraham nods as he grabs the panel. Oscar and Alisha grab it too, and they start to carry it towards the truck. They put the panel in the bed. Abraham grabs some straps and secures the panel. He climbs into the driver's seat and starts to drive home.
Merle's P.O.V
Merle drives back into Woodbury and stops the truck. He looks at the Governor as he walks up to him with Shane. "Look who's outside," Merle says as he gets out.
"Sun feels nice," The Governor tells him. "How was your search?"
"Good," Martinez says.
"We found a hardware store with a lot of wood. The only problem is it's filled with walkers," T-dog says.
"Tomorrow, we'll take a group out to clear it out," Shane says. "We're still waiting for Abraham and Daryl to come back," Merle nods as he walks away.
Daryl P.O.V
Daryl and Rosita walk towards the door and walk outside. Daryl puts his bag around the bike and looks at Rosita. "Ready to head back?" Daryl asks her. Rosita nods as she climbs onto the back of the bike. Daryl starts the bike and drives out of town. Daryl was driving down the road when a gunshot went off, hitting the tire of the bike. The bike goes out of control and crashes. Daryl opens his eyes and feels a pain in his side. "Son of a bitch," He says as he grabs his crossbow off the ground. "Rosita," Daryl says as he looks at his side, which was bleeding.
"Over here," Rosita says. Daryl runs over to her and sees her leaning up against a tree. He bends down beside her.
"You okay?" Daryl asks her.
"No," She says. "My leg hurts," Daryl looks at her leg. He moves her leg, making her grunt.
"Do you think you can stand?" Daryl asks.
"Yeah," Rosita says. Daryl helps her up, and Rosita puts pressure on her leg. "I think it's sprained," Daryl nods as he goes back to the bike. Another gunshot goes off, landing beside his foot. He grabs his and Rosita's bags and goes back to Rosita.
"Okay, we have to get away. We go to the other side of the woods and get as far away as possible," Daryl says. Rosita nods as she wraps her arms around him. Daryl and Rosita go across the road. A gunshot goes off, grazing Daryl's shoulder. Daryl grunts as they get into the woods. Daryl and Rosita go through the woods and come across a cabin. Daryl sets Rosita down and goes to the door. He pushes the door open and searches the cabin. He walks outside and grabs Rosita. He carries her inside and sets her on the chair. Daryl sets the bags down and looks out the window. "I don't think they followed us," Daryl tells her.
"What do we do now?" Rosita asks.
"We tend to our wounds. Wait till tomorrow and start to head back," Daryl says.
"You think they'll come after us?" Rosita asks.
"Let's hope so," Daryl says as he opens the bags. He pulls the medical supplies out and starts to wraps Rosita's ankle.
Woodbury
Merle's P.O.V.
Night
Merle stood on the wall. He looks at Shane as he climbs up. "They still aren't back?" Shane asks.
"Nah," Merle says. "You think something happened?"
"Maybe they just got held up by a herd. If they aren't back by tomorrow, we'll find them. We won't be any help to them if we're tired," Shane says. Merle nods as he follows Shane.
Rosita's P.O.V
Daryl and Rosita sat in the house eating a can of beans Daryl had found. "What are you going to do about your bike?" Rosita asks.
"I'll get it back if I can," Daryl says. "The bike is the least of our problems. Those assholes out there have a sniper in the trees. We gotta stay off of the main road,"
"You think that is the same group that attacked Woodbury?" Rosita asks.
"Nah, if it were, I think they would have ambushed us on the road. I would say there are only a few of them, and they take what they want when the person is dead," Daryl tells her. "You get some sleep. I'll keep watch," Rosita nods as she lays her head back.
"Daryl," Rosita says, making him look at her. "Thanks," Daryl nods as he looks out the window.
"We're gonna make it out of this," Daryl says to her.
"Yeah, we will," Rosita tells him as she goes to sleep. Daryl watches the night as he makes sure nothing attacks them.
The road
A man walks out onto the road and looks at the bike. "What are you thinking, boss?" Another man asks.
"We'll follow them tomorrow. They won't be getting too far. Not with that leg. Throw the bike on the side of the road," The boss says. Two of the men nod as they grab the bike. The men walk back into the woods.
