Monday came back around quickly. This was the first day of full on hero training so as the students waited nervously for their homeroom teacher to arrive they couldn't help be imagine all the hard core exercises they's endure.
The door slid open to reveal an as tired as always Aizawa. "I see you've finally learnt how to be quiet. That's a relief." He droned as he walked in and placed his papers on his desk. "Right today is the last bit of admin for you, you have to chose 2 class representatives. You have until the end of the lesson." he said slowly placing himself in his cocoon sleeping bag on the floor. The class began their discussion and voting, it was chosen that Midoriya and Momo would be the representatives although Midoriya had no idea what to say and do.
Lunch soon came around and Midoriya couldn't help but feel inadequate for the task. As he sat at the table with Ida and Uraraka he couldn't help but notice Ida's knowledge of everything a class rep should have and he began to wonder if the right choice had been made.
Ashley walked through the empty hallway holding a pile of paperwork, class 1-B had just filled out out all the waivers for hero training and she was bringing them to Vlad King for approval. She stopped, knowing she wasn't alone. "Honestly, it's like you forget everyday." she said turning around waiting for the person she knew was just round the corner to show themselves. Slowly a white and red spilt head came round the corner. The second she made contact with those intense blue and grey eyes her heart started pounding. She was good at hiding it though so he had no clue.
"I wasn't following you." he stated staying by the corner.
Ashley laughed subtlety through her breathe and took a couple steps towards him, "oh, of course you weren't." she teased. "You just happen to be at the right place right time every time." she continued. Todoroki felt his pulse beat intensely but he was also good at hiding it. They stood barely a foot apart on the corner of the hallway in silence. Both with their hearts beating out their chests and both struggling to contain it.
"THERE HAS BEEN A LEVEL 3 SECURITY BREACH. ALL STUDENT PLEASE EVACUATE OUTDOORS PROMPTLY." The announcement system sounded, interrupting them.
Todoroki turned to look down the hallway behind him to see students running towards the doors. "We should-" he started but was alerted at the sound of papers hitting the ground followed by a thump. He quickly turned around to see Ashley on the ground unconscious. His eyes widened at the sight. Had she gotten a fright from the warning or something? That's impossible, she endures a lot more than this daily.
"Hey!" he called to her as he crouched down beside her to see if she was ok. She was out cold and not responding. He brushed her hair out of her eyes and stared at her for a few seconds before remembering about the security alarm that had been sounding but he was too concerned for the girl who was passed out. He looked around before placing him arms under her to lift her up bridal style, leaving the papers, and he began to look around for a teacher. He turned the corner in the hallway and he could see Midnight and Present Mic talking to Aizawa who had his back turned to him. Midnight noticed the young boy holding the girl in his arms and her eyes widened. She placed a hand on Aizawa's shoulder to alert him and he to turned to see them. He moved the quickest anyone had ever seen him as he ran towards the two.
"Ashley?!" he called, hoping the girl would respond. When she didn't he pressed the young boy in front of him for information, "What happened?" His tone was calm but on his face the concern was undeniable. He reached to take the girl out of Todoroki's arms who slowly slid her off.
"The alarm went off and next thing I know she's on the ground. I don't know what happened." he explained.
Aizawa nodded to show his understanding, "Thank you, we'll take it from here. Go join the class in the evacuation zone." he told the young hero who nodded and hesitated before turning around and exiting the building. He couldn't help but be overwhelmed with concern for the girl. As I said he thought, as he reached the evacuation zone, inconvenient.
The evacuation had been completed and all students checked. In the end it was said that the alarm was due to the media trying to break in to get stories on All Might. In Recovery Girl's office Ashley was laying on one of the beds, her eyes slowly fluttered open as she realised where she was. She didn't react much, she only opened her eyes fully and turned her head to look for people. Next to her sat Recovery Girl with a glass of water waiting for her to wake up.
"Oh, you're awake!" she exclaimed happily. "Gave everyone quiet a fright." she told the blonde girl as she used her elbows to prop herself up to sit up on the bed.
"What happened?" she groaned out reaching for the glass of water and taking a sip.
"Your limiter was overloaded by all the commotion, all the fear created by the alarm was a bit too much for it it seems." the nurse told her. Ashley nodded, that was plausible. Although she had been in multiple situations with hundreds of members of the public screaming and running in fear and it never happened then. Then she remembered, Todoroki.
"Wait, what about Todo-" she started.
"The Todoroki boy? The boy is like a knight in shining armour. Carried you to the teachers when you fainted." The nurse cut her off. A barely visible blush crept its way onto Ashley's cheeks remembering the situation seconds before she hit the floor. She knew what had happened, she let her guard down. As she sat there playing that moment over and over again the door opened snapping her out of her thoughts. She turned to see her red-haired friend in the doorway.
"Honestly, can't take you anywhere." he joked seeing that his friend was okay. Ashley smiled at him as he walked in closing the door behind him. Recovery Girl took her leave as the boy sat beside his friend. "What happened?" he asked her throwing his hands in the air.
"Stupid thing overloaded. Too many scared kids apparently." she said pointing to her left ear and the little hearing-aid looking device in it.
Kirishima frowned thinking about what she had just said. "Really? It only takes a few scared students to K.O you?" he commented trying to make it sound like a joke but actually questioning the reasoning. She shrugged at his question, having her guesses as to why the situation caused her to faint.
"That doesn't make any sense why-" Kirishima started but was cut off by the faint sound of knocking at the door. The two looked at it before Ashley spoke up.
"Come in." she called out, her voice still weak from having just woken up.
When the door opened it revealed a cautious Todoroki in the frame. Kirishima frowned in confusion as to why he was here and Ashley's eye widen slightly in making eye contact with him.
"Oh." Todoroki muttered, seeing that the girl had company. "Sorry, I was just checking the teachers had gotten you here ok." he muttered again, his face basically emotionless. Kirishima felt uncomfortable, as if he should not be there but he couldn't figure out why as he looked between the two teens.
"U-u-uh y-yeah, they did thanks." she stuttered, which left Kirishima confused as he turned back to her.
What the hell is wrong with her?! He thought.
The three took in the silence for a second. Ashley bit her lip softly feeling the awkwardness of the moment and looked down at her hands on her lap.
"Well... erm... I'll be going then." Todoroki said stumbling. Ashley gave him a small smile to say goodbye and Kirishima turned back to him and nodded with a small smile. As soon as the door closed Kirishima turned back to his friend, eyebrows halfway up his forehead and a cheeky smile met Ashley.
"Don't." she firmly said, knowing what he was thinking.
"Mr stoic half and half?" he teased her.
"I said don't!" she warned him knowing he wouldn't let it go.
"Ashley!" he said finding a lot of humour in what had just happened. Ashley hit his shoulder showing her annoyance at the boys prying. "Ow!" he yelped rubbing his shoulder. Ashley lay back in the bed crossing her arms. Inconvenient.
Ok so the next one will probably be a longer one so have patience as I write it :)
