Mar's pov
Wasting no time, Jordan and I went off to find Jon. I covered the area searching through the skies while the half-Kryptonian managed on foot. He was able to keep up with me due to newly unlocking his superspeed. Jon had all sorts of powers now, even if only while in contact with the red K. We finally managed to corner him, his eyes shining red. Jordan tried the brother appeal first
"Jon, just put the trophy down. It's doing things to you that are bad."
He scoffed
"Why? Just because you aren't the only 'Superboy' anymore? You'd like for me to go back to being powerless, huh?"
I used my telepathy to reassure Jordan that Jon's demeanor had been altered by the Red K, he wasn't being himself. We tried the good cop approach a bit more, to no avail. Bad cop time. It hurt me more, because I had allowed myself to catch feelings for him. I knew I shouldn't had, but we don't exactly pick and choose. Besides, he was a perfect gentleman if he wasn't altered, I just was worried about what the lies and secrets would do to even our friendship. Stupid timelines...Stupid Crisis. I had no choice but use my powers against his as we engaged in a battle.
We went toe-to-toe for over an hour before I was able to subdue him and grab the trophy. He seemed stunned for a second, then shook it off and turned to us
"Jordan? Mar? What happened?!"
Finding it to be a better option, I told him the truth, the whole truth, but did so through telepathy. Taking advantage of his once again silenced state, I asked, out loud this time
"A-are you ok? Are WE ok?"
He smiled, then nodded
"I have Jordan, I have you. Yeah, everything is ok."
Then he did something I was not expecting, but definitely more than ok with happening. He kissed me. Then we found ourselves a few feet off the ground. Jon looked down and laughed
"Haha, real funny. I know that's a Superman move, but you're the one doing it."
I shook my head
"No, Jonny, I'm not. You're FLYING!"
Jon's pov
Jordan smiled up at me and smiled
"You get to keep your powers, and even have some I don't! Awesome!"
Awesome indeed. Super, even. Sorry, I love puns. Soon enough, we returned home.
