The following days were hard. The three boys had been admitted into hospital while their injuries healed so that the media wouldn't link them to the Hosu incident. Meanwhile, Ashley was recovering but she still hadn't woken up. The stab wound was deep and if it had been not an inch inward she would have died then and there. Shoto spent everyday in the hospital constantly checking in on her incase she woke up. The president of the chief of the Hosu police force had visited the boys on their first day in. He had informed them, that while they were to keep out of the media eye due to them being students and legally weren't allowed to act, that the police force was grateful to their contribution.

Three days had passed and Shoto was being discharged. Iida and Midoriya's injuries were more severe, Iida risking to not be able to walk properly, let alone his quirk. It was going to be a tough few weeks. As Shoto picked up his bag he felt a heaviness in his heart due to the fact the Ashley had not made any improvements, she was stable but showed no sign of waking up. He walked through the Hosu hospital hallways once again, toward her room. As he approached it he noticed the door wasn't completely closed over, somebody was inside. He got to the door and as he raised his hand to knock the door swung open, revealing Bakugo. He's been crying. His eye were red and still held tears.

Bakugo looked up at Shoto and grimaced, "Out of my way half and half." he growled as he pushed passed him and walked away. Shoto kept his eyes on Bakugo until he turned exited the building, the large glass inner walls of the hospital made it easy for him to see him every step of the way. Then he turned back to the bandaged up sleeping girl in the room. His eyes went sad as he walked in and closed the door behind him. He slowly walked to the small stool set by her bed, once he sat the only sound in the room was the beeping of the machines she was hooked up to. He sat there staring right at her face, her eyes were closed softly and her face completely relax. He sighed as his face drew sadder.

"Keep fighting..." he whispered to her, as if she was able to hear him. When she didn't react he inhaled deeply as to fight tears. "You can leave... you can't leave me... not now..." he whispered again, reaching over to place a hand on her cheek. "We have things to figure out." he whispered one last time before bending over to place a soft kiss on her forehead. Without another word he stood and walked out to head home.

It was dark, so darker. Darker than the complete darkness of nighttime. She couldn't move or speak or see. Ashley was stuck in the maze of darkness that was her mind. The only thing she could register was other people's voices. She heard the doctors talking over her recovery, she heard Aizawa coming to visit her everyday, he was a shell of a man during these days. She even heard her brother's voice when he suddenly decided to go and see her. He was the last person she expect to hear.

"You just had to go and get stabbed..." he said to her unconscious body. "You better wake up, you idiot..." from his voice she could hear his effort to hold back tears. Never in a million years did she think he would be crying over her state.

Soon after that she heard probably the most important person of all, Shoto. His words were filled with despair as he pleaded for her to wake up and not leave him. She wanted to wake up so badly, she wanted to move and show him she was ok; but she was stuck. She heard him leave shortly after that and she was left all alone in that overwhelming darkness once more.

The next days the students completed their internships. It was hard for Shoto, Midoriya and Bakugo to concentrate much after what happened. Iida was still in hospital and was not allowed to continue his internship. None of them went to visit either of their hospitalised classmates for the rest of the week, Hosu was too far to get to every evening. As Sunday, the last day for the internships, rolled around Shoto was packing his bag for the last time. His father had not been around much since the Hosu incident and when he was around he didn't speak a word. His siblings on the other hand wouldn't stop asking him wheat had happened as he was even quieter than usual. Shoto wouldn't answer back most of the time or if he did he he'd say he was fine. He wasn't fine, far from it, but he was taught from a young age to not show emotion.

He watched as his father sat at his desk filling out paper work from the last couple days. He had a question burning inside of him, one that he'd actually kept with himself for years upon noticing his father's attitude towards Ashley.

"I need to ask you something." Shoto stated, no emotion in his voice. Endeavour stopped writing and looked up at his son, sharing the same unemotional expression.

"Ask." he simply replied, going back to his paperwork. Shoto hesitated before continuing.

"Why do you hate her?" he asked. Endeavour stopped once more, knowing exactly who he was referring to.

"Now Shoto, I don't believe this is a conversation to have at such a ti-"

"She saved my life, you realise that right?" he bit back at his father ignoring his question which made him stop writing once again. "She saved me and Midoriya, and Iida and Native... do I have to go on?" he asked rhetorically. Endeavour still didn't look up or say anything. "Are you actually so self-absorbed that you don't see what happens right in front of you?" Shoto commented, under his breathe but still loud enough for the fire hero to hear. With his father not talking back to him he took it as a sign to give up, he was going to get nowhere. He left the agency, it was almost completely dark outside but he decided to walk home, he needed space and time to think.

Monday came around pretty slowly in the next hours for Shoto. He didn't get much sleep and as he entered UA he dreaded the day ahead. He didn't make it through the front gate before being stopped by Midnight.

"Todoroki." she called for his attention as she walked down the path to the gate. "I'm going to need you to go back to the hospital and get a final health check before you come back into hero classes. You and Midoriya will be allowed to leave a couple hours early to go." she explained to the young hero, who responded with a single nod of the head. The moment Midnight turned to walk back into the school Shoto stopped her.

"I'm sorry." he said to her, bluntly. The pro hero turned back to him confused. "She's in hospital because she jumped in to protect me. I'm sorry." It was obvious that Shoto felt somewhat responsible for Ashley. Midnight looked back at the boy and shook her head.

"It's what she does. She's always put other people first. Their safety and happiness has always been more important than her own. It is in no way your fault. Understood?" She explained, as hse spoke of the girl her tone became softer. Shoto nodded back. "Oh and Eraser won't be in today, he had something to deal with." she told him, he nodded again and with that they both walked into the school. The day dragged on so slowly; he ignored the questions about the Hosu incident that were thrown around, his father was to take credit as burns and ash were found at the scene. He remained silent most of the day and on the car ride back to Hosu hospital. Midoriya was blabbering on about the incident with Stain and how he hoped that Iida and Ashley would recover soon. Shoto was too lost in his own world to pay attention to him.

"Todoroki?" he heard, which woke him up and he turned to the green haired boy with a questioning look. "Are you ok? I know you must be worried about our classmates..." he said to him, sounding sad and bowing his head down. Shoto took a deep breathe before he shook his head and turned to look out the car window.

"I am... but I'm fine." he said, not very convincingly but Midoriya knew him enough to know to not press him. The medical check up took longer than expected, the doctors assessed the boys and released then with the paperwork they needed to go back to hero classes. On the way out the stopped by Iida's room to check on him and deliver his school work. Minutes turned into hours while the boys hing out, Midorya found it difficult to leave his friend and Shoto felt somewhat the same.

"I'm going to be released in the next couple days, so hopefully I won't miss the whole week." Iida informed them. His legs had healed up pretty well, although his mobility and quirk were still quite shaky. The boys were still in his room as the evening rolled around, Midoriya sat on the end of Iida's bed while Shoto sat on the bed beside his and faced them. He didn't contribute much to the conversation, Midoriya had enough enthusiasm for the both of them. As they were speaking about the day the door swung open, calling the boys' attention as they turned towards it. They saw Kirishima, Mina, Sero and Bakugo, who was hanging behind them all, through the door.

"W-what are you guys doing here?" Midoriya asked them as they made their way in, Bakugo hanging around the door still.

"We wanted to check in with our Prez!" Kirishima said approaching the boys.

"You shouldn't have come all this way!" Iida told them. Kirishima shook his head and raised his hands to indicate it was no issue.

"Nah, don't worry dude! Bakugo and I were coming down anyway, we thought we'd make a trip out of it!" he revealed. Midoriya, Shoto and Iida looked towards Bakugo who was looking right at them.

"Why did you and Ka-chan have to come to Hosu?" Midoriya asked, all three boys looking between them with questioning looks. Kirishima, Mina and Sero smiled between themselves then looked over to Bakugo. That's when Bakugo tore himself from the door, still avoiding eye contact with the three boys he put his hands in his pocket. He then looked up slightly towards Shoto, he wanted to say something but seemed to find it difficult and Shoto wondered what it could be.

"She's awake..." he mumbled, Shoto's eye widened thinking he had heard wrong.

"What...?" he asked him. Bakugo seemed ticked off at his question.

"Look she's awake! She woke up this morning!" he exclaimed. Shoto lost his breathe for a moment at Bakugo's words. Bakugo just looked back at him, his expression relaxed into one of seeming resignation. "Go." he told the half and half boy, who took his words in and his breathe recommenced and his heart sped up.

Shoto looked around the room at the others who just smiled back at him. He shot up and ran out the room without another word. Kirishima watched him as he ran out and sighed to himself.

"This is going to be interesting..." he said to himself but the others still picked up on it and everyone but Midoriya and Iida smiled at eachother. The remaining two boys were confused out of their minds.

"What's going on?" Midoriya asked the others. Mina smiled back at him as she draped her arm around Kirishima.

"Give 'em a few minutes." she said through her grin, this confused the boys even more.

Shoto ran through the hallways of the hospital, dodging doctors and patients as he flew through. His heart was racing wildly with each step he took. Though when he got at Ashley's room it was empty, the bed was made. Had he really missed her? Shoto looked around the room while he caught his breathe and took a step back out of the room back into the hallway. The second he stepped out and turned his head to the right, to look down the long hallway, he saw her. Immediate eye contact was made between the two. Ashley's face both happy and sad, but a happy and excited sadness if it were even possible. She wore a pair of loose light blue hospital trousers and an oversized white t-shirt, you couldn't noticed the bandages with it on. Both there breathes were caught and heart skipped a beat when the connection was made. Ashley was the first to snap out of it and she smiled at him from across the hallway, with tears starting to form. Without a second though she propelled herself forward and ran to him, the pain from her injury being subdued by the endorphins and adrenaline of the moment. She jumped into his arms, which he opened as she got closer to her, and she wrapped her legs around the small of his back and grabbed on for dear life and their lips met in an intense kiss. It felt like it lasted years, it was intoxicating, desperate and definitely needed to both of them. Shoto held her closer as he spun with the momentum she had built on her run. Her hands went through his hair and she kept him even closer as if the kiss was her only means of survival. Once they eventually parted they remained only inches away and looked into each other's eyes.

"I'm not leaving you...ever." she whispered to him. Shoto was taken aback, had she heard what he said to her while she was out cold? Ashley smiled at him, "Yeah, I heard you. Everyday, I heard you." she told him. Shoto felt his heart warm up completely, not knowing what to say back to that but then he rememebered.

"What happened to the whole 'not normal' thing?" he asked her, the reason they had argued was the fact that she felt like she couldn't have "normal" things. Ashley giggled back at him and shook her head.

"Screw that..." she said, closing the gap once more into a softer kiss that lasted only a few seconds. When they parted he smiled back at her. "Besides... if you think you're any amount more 'normal' than me you are sadly mistaken." she teased. He chuckled back at her and simply stared back at her, still holding he in his arms.

Across the opposite side Ashley had come from their classmates had snuck out and spied on them during their moment. Apart the confusion and blind sighting it made Midoriya happy to know his friend was happy. Across to where Ashley had actually come from stood Aizawa and Midnight watching the two teens.

"Knew it." Midnight commented cockily shaking her head. Aizawa said nothing but watched as the girl he raised smiled at the boy in a way she had never seen her smile. Once he had seen enough he had seen enough of his daughter kissing for one day he placed his hands in his pockets and began to walk away.

"Come on... I'm not getting involved in their private affairs." he said and Midnight smiled and followed him.

Across the hospital floor, through the glass inner walls of the hospital, which allowed you to see through to the reception two corners away, stood Hawks, Mount Lady and Kamui. The men stood frozen in surprise and shock while Mount Lady shifted her weight to her side and placed her hands on her hips.

"Ha! Called it! You owe me 50 bucks!" she teased toward Kamui who sighed and began to walk out of the hospital with the young girl. Hawks remained unmoved. There were many things going through his mind and heart but he couldn't identify any of them. Jealousy? Anger? Sadness? He honestly didn't know. As he watched Shoto place the girl back on her feet and as she threw her arms around him once more, her smile made Hawks' heart sink. He was too caught up in his own emotionally confusing mind to notice the large hero who had come in behind him, also frozen. This was something he was not going to let slide... although, in that moment he noticed the smile on his son's lips. A smile he had not seen in over ten years, maybe never. He was actually happy and seemed at peace. Something Endeavour could not comprehend or ever claim responsibility for.
