Ashley had to stay in hospital for several more days to recover and Shoto was by her side everyday. Most days she'd protest that he'd go home and rest but he won most of those arguments. Kirishima and Mina visited most days along with their classmates. Iida had been discharged only a couple days later and got to working on his legs again. Ashley had noticed that some mornings when she woke up there would be freshly cut sunflowers on the bedside table. Only 3 people knew they were her favourites, and crossing out her father due to his inaptitude of giving such gifts the finalists were the two people she had not seen since she woke up; Katsuki and Hawks. She remembered hearing her brother's voice the day before she woke up, he'd been there in silence for ages until he said anything to her. Then Hawks...not a word, not a call, not a text; something had to be up.

Shoto had kept her up to date with everything going on in school. First semester exams had taken place, he was teamed up with Momo and they'd both passed with flying colours. She knew Momo had struggled with her self confidence for the last few weeks, she didn't even have to read her mind, it was written all over her face. Ashley was glad that Shoto could help her through it. She had spent so much time thinking to herself she'd forgotten about the boy sat in the chair next to her.

"Ash?" she heard, which woke her up and she turned to him with a small smile as he looked at her with his soft gaze bearing some worry in her distance. "You alright?" he asked her, closing his school book and placing it on the side table. She smiled and nodded back at him as she blinked her eyes open.

"Yeah, just tired I guess. I'm on so many pain meds I just zone out." She explained to him, to which he smiled and leant over to place a quick soft kiss on the top of her head. As he sat back down she stared directly onto his intense eyes, which had grown a lot softer in the last few days.

"I should leave you to get some rest then, I have packing to do anyway." he said to her, slight sad tone to his voice. She stared at him a few more seconds before throwing the covers away from her as she swung out of bed and onto her feet. Shoto stood up along with her, mainly to keep her from falling as he snaked his arms around her waist and she around his neck.

"Why do you having to leave for training camp the day I get discharged?" she asked sarcastically as she held him closer and they stared into each other's eyes. He didn't reply with words but a simple annoyed sigh ans smiled back at her.

"Just gonna have to make the moment I return worth the wait..." he whispered to her, sending shivers down her spine; she felt her whole body warm up as she pressed herself onto his body. The desire to be even closer was building between the two as they both inched in to close the gap between their lips. It was soft but full of passion as the two held onto one another, Ashley's hands in his hair and his on the small of her back. They could have gone on for ages but the constant surveillance and the fact the Ashley was nursing a pretty deep wound tended to keep things pretty PG. As she pressed herself into his bodt she felt a twinge in her back, where the sword had gone through her, and they parted. Shoto concerned placed a hand on her shoulder.

"You take it easy." he told her, warmth in his voice finally coming out as he warmed up himself. Ashley nodded back at him and smiled.

* cough cough *

The two whipped their heads around to the door that was now halfway open and Bakugo stood in the gap. He kept trying to divert his eyes from the two as if he didn't want to see them together. Ashley's breathe got caught in her chest and Shoto noticed her tense up.

"I'll get going." he said, letting go of her and picking up his book and bag; Ashley watch him until he was in front of her again. "I'll text you later?" he asked her and she nodded in response. His subtle smile made her stomach dance within her as he looked at her on last time before leaving the room, stoping at the door to nod at Bakugo only to be greeted by a snarl. As Shoto left Ashley's gaze was fixed on her brother in the doorway. He glanced at her then back to the floor as he stepped into the room. The room filled to the brim with an uncomfortable silence, Ashley staring at him and Bakugo avoiding her gaze.

"You're doing better...?" he mumbled, just loud enough for her to hear as she snapped out of her stare. She nodded as she took a deep breathe in

"Y-yeah... a lot better." she told him, sounding nervous. He suddenly tore his gaze from the floor to meet her eyes, same as his own. The silence grew between the two, more awkward with each second.

"Look…" Bakugo muttered, making Ashley look back at him, his gaze still on the floor. "…I'm glad… you're like… alive… and all…" he muttered. A warm feeling flushed through Ashley as happiness filled her.

"Thanks…?" She said over to him questioning if it were indeed a positive thing. Quickly after she struggled to contain laughter, a couple chuckles being kept in but ultimately she gave in a burst into laughter.

Bakugo turned back to her, one eyebrow up in a questioning manner. "What the hell is so funny?!" He growled at her. Ashley's laughter died down as she push a piece of stray hair behind her ear, she looked up at her brother and smiled softly. With not another second she walked over to him and swung her arms around his neck. Bakugo frozen, completely taken aback by the sudden affection, especially after so long.

"W-what are y-yo-" He tried asking her but was interrupted by her squeezing him tighter.

"I missed you too, idiot." She whispered, muffled into his shoulder. He stood frozen for a few more seconds before shakily raising his arms to slowly hug her back. He didn't squeeze her tightly, he simply held her. It had been so long since they shared anything of the sort, it took her almost dying to get to this place, but they got there. It wasn't going to be that simple, building their relationship back up to what it was all those years ago, but Ashley was ready to try. The two siblings sat and chatted over the next couple hours before Bakugo had to leave to pack for the training camp.

Ashely lay in her hospital bed as he walked to the door. Passing her bed his gaze dropped on the bright yellow flowers on her bedside. "Still like sunflowers?" he asked her. Her gaze dropped on the flowers as well, then back to the boy in the doorway and she nodded.

"They're not from you?" she asked him. He was taken aback by her question.

"Hello no, I ain't that soppy." he growled, trying to keep up his hard man facade.

So it was...

"It's late, I'm gonna go. I'll speak to you after the camp." Bakugo told her. She nodded back again as he walked out and closed the door behind him.

Ashley sighed in deeply and then back out as she stared up at the ceiling, then turned her head to look out at the night sky through the window.

Ok... where are you, Hawks?

Just a short on to get back into it! Sorry I haven't updated in a while! Lockdown in the UK is really something. Hopefully I will be writing more often!
