Fatima had went on the weekly grocery run instead of Rountree, just to help out a little. She had bought all the essentials, plus a pregnancy test. When she got to the checkout aisle, she saw a thin guy with dirty blond hair, almost like Deeks's hair, only shorter. She didn't think much of it, but she noticed he was looking at something the woman in front of her was buying. She suddenly wasn't sure she wanted to be in that line anymore, but she was already blocked in. She took a shaky breath and started setting her groceries on the counter. She hoped he wouldn't pay attention to anything she was buying. The groceries slowly moved up to the man. He began scanning the groceries until he picked up the box of tampons. Fatima closed her eyes, praying he wouldn't say anything.
"Woah, what do these do?" he asked. Fatima groaned.
"Please just scan them and move on," she whispered. The man nodded and scanned a few more items.
"Woah, you don't look pregnant. What if you don't pass the test?" he asked. Fatima was dumbfounded.
"Wow. Um, Martin, is it? It um, it isn't a test for pregnant people. It is a test to see if one is pregnant," Fatima said. She was thoroughly confused at how someone could be so dense.
"How does it know, though? Do you just stick it in your stomach? Does it ask questions? How does it work?" he asked. Fatima raised an eyebrow.
"Tell you what. When you're on your break, Google it. Now please finish with my groceries," Fatima said.
When Fatima got home, all she could do was set the groceries in the kitchen and flop down on the couch. Rountree looked over.
"That bad?" he asked. Fatima nodded numbly into her pillow.
"Why did you not warn me about Martin?" she asked. Rountree laughed.
"Oh, baby, I'm so sorry you went through that. Come here, I'll massage your head," he said, pulling her close.
"He made me lose my brain cells," she whispered. Rountree laughed and ran his fingers through her hair. Fatima closed her eyes and was soon asleep.
