A/N I made a few modifications. I have changed Alya's birthday party from being 16th to 15th because they are 14 in Season 4. Also short chapter today, I wanted to finish something before work. That is all :3

"Adrien, your father is going to arrive home tomorrow morning. I know you enjoyed your freedom, but I want you to know that your father is expecting you to work a lot more for the brand for the rest of your vacation," Nathalie was staring at the blond who was trying to decide between a classic black suit and tie, vs a blue suit and tie. "Are you listening to me?"

"Y-yeah I am Nathalie, I am going to have to do a lot more modeling and work..." Adrien was holding up each outfit, unsure which one to wear. I wonder what her favorite color is.

"Adrien. She has a boyfriend. You can have a pick of any girl in Paris..." Nathalie sighed, "I do not think that your father will appreciate you obsessing over your looks when it comes to a girl..."

"My father doesn't care about what I think, so why should I care? Everything he 'cares' about for me is because it will affect the brand," Adrien picked up the blue suit, decided that he liked it more, it was a softer color, "I will wear this one because it is featured in the latest magazine. That will please him. Now Nathalie, can I have the rest of this night to myself, no more business talk or reminder that my father will be present. Thank you," Adrien snapped, a hint of attitude present in his voice, something unheard of in the Agreste household.

"Adrien-" Nathalie was interrupted by Adrien's door slamming into her face. She had never seen him with this much attitude. He really did not want his father to come home. Nathalie went to her office and sat down to continue to work. She eventually heard Adrien open his bedroom door and descend the steps of the mansion.

Luka and Marinette arrived at the Le Grand Paris hotel with Alya and Nino. Alya decided to wear the same dress she wore at her birthday party, an orange dress with red flare, and Nino wore a simple black suit. The group walked into the ballroom of the hotel, to find that Chloe spared no expense. The room was decorated with gorgeous red and white, with satin covering the tables. There were waiters and staff everywhere, with some holding Hors D'oeuvres, and others were waiting for a guest to request anything. Chloe made herself the center of attention, wearing a color that she was never seen in before, red. It was large and dramatic, just like her personality, and sparkled under the numerous lights present. Wow, this is more than a simple party to gather everyone in our class.

Marinette sat down at a table with the group, waiting for more people to come. "Huh, we must be a little early, there aren't many people here..."

"Yeah, Juleka would've come with us but Rose wasn't done with her makeup yet. For the rest of the people..." Luka pointed out the window near their table "... ah there is Ivan and Mylene!" Ok, so we aren't that early. Chloe sat near the door, supposedly to greet guests, even though she didn't really greet them, more giving a nod of "I am doing this for Adrien that is why you're allowed here" than "welcome to my party."

A large chunk of the class had made it, but there was a person missing, Adrien. "He isn't answering his phone. I know his dad is coming back to town tomorrow, but I don't think that would do anything..." Nino said, staring at his phone. Marinette looked out the window, waiting for Adrien to come, but the party started without him.

"Don't worry about Adrien, I am sure that he is coming, maybe he got held up in traffic... come dance with me," Luka extended his hand to his girlfriend, and she accepted, still looking worryingly out the window. He grabbed her chin and faced her towards him. "Look, I know that you planned this whole summer around Adrien, and he is your friend..." Luka looked away as if he was holding back saying something.

"Luka?" Marinette stared at him. She could see that he was struggling with something inside.

"I just can't help but notice that...'' Luka looked away from her, Marinette knew that something was on her mind, but she still couldn't help turning to look out the window. Where was Adrien...? "Nevermind... it is nothing." The two continued to dance together, but Marinette could tell that something was wrong with Luka. Two more songs played, and Adrien still hadn't arrived.

"I am worried about Adrien, I don't understand why he isn't here yet..." Marinette separated from her boyfriend and walked out towards the window, the blond nowhere in sight. She looked over at Chloe, who was still at the door, with a worried look on her face. "I think-"

"Marinette, stay. You always go after Adrien, you're always worried about him, I get that he is your friend, but..." Luka looked at her, "I am your boyfriend, not him. You chose me. I waited for a very long time for you to give up on him, and I finally have you. Now, stay," Luka pleaded, staring into Marinette's eyes.

"Luka..." She looked out the window for one more moment, "he is my friend, who is not answering his phone, who should've been here 30 minutes ago, and you're telling me not to go after him?"

"Yes, because you always go after him. This whole vacation has been Adrien this... Adrien that... I am your boyfriend! Not him." Luka's voice rose with a hint of anger, something Marinette never thought was possible.

"You're jealous? I thought you liked Adrien, you went along with my plan for almost all of the vacation, and now you're causing a scene," Marinette huffed, "what is wrong with you?"

"I am tired of it, I am tired of being your second choice, despite being your supposed first. I am the one dating you, yet I feel like you're constantly sidelining me for Adrien... You know what I think Mari...? I think you are still in love with Adrien, you always have been. You just got tired of waiting, so you said 'oh let's go with the second-best choice.' Well, I don't want to be your second choice, Mari. I have been patient enough. It is me or him, Marinette. I am tired of this." Luka stared at the girl, whose eyes were wide with shock. Never did she think that she would hear such anger and disdain in Luka's voice. It was unheard of. Marinette was paralyzed, staring at the boy. "Well... I think I have your answer then," Luka sighed, and walked out of the hotel, leaving Marinette alone.

Adrien walked out of the mansion, not notifying his bodyguard or Nathalie. He was already late due to Nathalie's lecture, but he didn't care. He wanted to walk to sort out his feelings and thoughts. He was tired of his father always having control of him. Even with his father away for business Adrien still was influenced by him. He never had total freedom. Now Nathalie has to interfere on his last day of "freedom". Adrien walked briskly towards the hotel, which was a few blocks away. Finally, he saw the hotel. I swear, if Nathalie sends the Gorilla after me I will... Adrien's thoughts were interrupted by the sight of Luka angrily leaving the hotel. He never had seen Luka angry, let alone this mad. He decided it was best to run after him and see what was wrong. "Luka!"

"Wha- oh it's you..." Luka stared at Adrien up and down. "What do you want, blondie?"

"You're mad... at me? But why?" Adrien asked, reaching for Luka's shoulder. The boy jerked it away from him.

"Ask Marinette..." The boy stormed away, and Adrien stood still for a moment, processing what just happened. His thoughts were interrupted by Juleka and Rose running out after Luka, but Rose stopped in front of Adrien. Rose looked at him and grabbed his hand. She nodded at Juleka as if conveying to her that she was going to help Adrien and that Juleka should console her brother.

"I know you're confused, let's go into the lobby." Rose led Adrien into the lobby in the hotel, and they both sat on a bench near a window. "Luka has grown some... jealousy... towards you over the vacation... because Marinette had dedicated all of it to you."

"Okay, that makes sense, but why now? Why is he mad at me now?"

"Marinette has spent most of the evening worrying about you. You're late, and you weren't answering your phone... it must've set him off to see her ignoring him for you." Rose looked down at her hands as if she was contemplating revealing another fact to Adrien. "He- he asked her to choose between you both, and she didn't say anything, giving him an answer."

"Choose?" Adrien was confused. Choose... but he is her boyfriend, I am a friend, why should she have to choose -. "Oh..."

Rose nodded. "Marinette is just sitting at the table, alone. She won't even let Alya talk to her. I think she is taking this hard," Rose paused, "everyone is worried for you, you should come up with me. Just, stay away from Marinette unless she approaches you, okay?" Adrien nodded in agreement and went upstairs with Rose. Music was still playing, and most people were dancing, except for Alya and Nino who were standing near Marinette, who had her head down on the table. The couple spotted Adrien and went towards him to greet him.

"Adrien, dude, you're okay!" Nino hugged his friend, and Alya did too. "I am guessing that Rose has got you up to speed?" Adrien nodded. I just want to comfort her, but I shouldn't.

"Adrikins! You're here!" Chloe squealed, throwing Adrien into an embrace. "Don't let Dupain-Cheng get you down, it is just some loser drama. Come, dance with me."

Adrien didn't appreciate Chloe's comments, but couldn't do anything to help Marinette. Rose was right, Marinette should be left alone. Chloe shouted "slow dance!" igniting the DJ to pick one. Adrien tried his best to focus on Chloe, but he kept staring at Marinette. I don't think she is crying at least. Alya kept making attempts to talk to her, but Marinette would wave her away.

The party went on for a few more hours until it hit 10 pm. Most people were tired physically, but Adrien's friend group was also tired emotionally. Marinette had stayed alone at the table, and left around 8 pm, allowing Alya to leave with her. Adrien and Nino eventually left at the end of the party because it would be rude to Chloe if everyone left a party she was asked to throw early. Adrien called his bodyguard to pick the two up but decided to break his father and Nathalie's wishes. He decided to sleep over at Nino's.

"I don't care what my father thinks, Nathalie. I will see you later tomorrow." Adrien hung up the phone and gave a thumbs-up to Nino.

"We aren't going to stay up too late, are we? I am kind of tired."

"No, don't worry. I just don't want to be home when my father arrives back from his business trip..."
