Quick entry for the day. I am sitting in a chair at what looks like it used to be a railway station. Heather is crashed already, Dog is curled up at my feet, and Nick is on watch - not needing sleep, that seemed pretty logical...
I saw Arturo this morning. He has asked me to start testing and reviewing new guns that he has been acquiring. In return, he would give me a discount on all purchases, and sell me the RSh at his cost if he found it. I would have said yes with just the last part of the deal, but what the hell - cheaper guns and ammo - I am in. The first two he gave me were a plasma infused radium rifle and something called a "syringer." The radium rifle is clunky, but after a day of solid use, seems pretty damn durable. It is also entertaining as well when the occasional "gooification" occurs when a shot scrambles the cell structure of my target. The syringer seems kind of silly, but I haven't used it yet. Arturo included 5 of each round that he had available for it. I had white phosphorous, knock-out, acid, and bloatfly larva. The white phosphorous seems a bit over the top and should literally melt a person from the inside out... I am not interested in knocking someone out that is trying to kill me... my objective right now is to kill crap before it kills me. Of the last two, acid I get, but bloatfly larvae? What sick bastard thought of that one? I'll try to give it a shot tomorrow. (Bad pun intended) When I tried to get the reason for this arrangement out of him, Arturo was a bit evasive. When I pointed that out, he just told me that he'd be able to tell me more when I got back. As of now, I have no clue, but I am not complaining.
The meeting after lunch with Nick confirmed what I had been suspecting since the first conversation I had with Heather - this man Kellog, who had led the synths at the massacre she survived, was the guy who murdered my wife and kidnapped my son. A quick search of the house he had owned in DC netted a few items of his that we gave to Dog to see if maybe he could lead us to this bastard. Much to my surprise, it worked. So here we are, after a half a day of travel, closing in on Kellog. I have been letting Heather do all the looting.. My mind is centering on the thought of finding Kellog and the knowledge that if he is indeed working for this Institute, my journey may just be closing out the first act if I find him without Shaun.
If the institute has Shaun, then everything up until now has only been a prelude to war.
One thing I know, is war, and war never changes.
