She knew going off her heat control pills would lead to a rather quick heat, she just hadn't thought that it would happen barely five days later. She reaches for her mate, all it would take was a simple touch and she'd be ready to go, but the space beside her feels cold. She pats Charlie's spot a few times before opening her eyes and looking around her bedroom. Her mate was nowhere to be seen but she wasn't quite sure where Charlie had gone.

"Charlie?" She calls out, and frowns when she gets no response. A quick look at the time shows that it's already the middle of the morning and she hadn't been woken up to make breakfast for Harper, and her mate was missing. "Harper?" Santana calls out ready to start hunting for her family when she hears the door to their apartment being unlocked.

"San?" Charlie whispers loudly.

"In bed," Santana responds, with a loud whisper of her own. She can hear Charlie practically tripping over herself to get to the bedroom. She only has to wait a moment before Charlie's sliding past the bedroom door on one socked foot, as she tries to pull off her other boot, which she does and tosses it behind her. "Stop!" Santana says before Charlie can enter the room.

"Stop?" Charlie whines.

"Where's our daughter?"

"With my mom. She was grumpy that I was waking her up like first thing in the morning, but I told her that I needed to start making grandkids with you, and she insisted that she take Harper for the weekend. We've got like three days."

"Charlie!"

"But I told her that I'd pick Harper up after lunch. You probably would need some time to rest," There was a cheeky smile on Charlie's face as Santana glared at her. "Prove me wrong."

"You're wearing far too many clothes," Santana responded with a sniff. "You can't enter the room until you're just as naked as I am under here."

Charlie lets out a laugh and pulls off her shirt and laughs. "Whatever you want."

"There is no possible way that you're pregnant Santana, you just told us you were off your heat control pills like a couple of weeks ago."

"I had my heat last week, it was only two days, my heats generally last three or four but of course Charlie put in that work. I mean I appreciate the work ethic but she's now worried and disappointed that she put a baby in me on the very first attempt." Santana let out a laugh and shook her head.

"It's probably all the working out she does," Marley says with a sigh.

Santana blinked and scowled, "Hey! She's my alpha, tell Dani to stop stress eating." Marley and Rachel laugh, and Santana relaxes, "Seriously though Marley—"

"Dani's currently trying to choose the right surrogate. We've decided to go with a beta, I'd tell you more but Dani's rejected everyone."

"Do you want me to get Quinn to talk to her?" Rachel asks.

Marley shakes her head, "I gave her a deadline this time, she works better under pressure. And I think I want our kids to be like best friends."

"Hopefully the kid takes after you," Santana says. "I hope my kid takes after Charlie, but with my luck the kid will take after me and that will be exhausting."

"It depends doesn't it? I think that if you were to have an omega a version of you would be exhausting, but I mean an alpha version of you would probably—oh, no I just thought about it for a few more seconds," Marley snorts.

Santana scoffed and flipped Marley off, "Harper is exactly like me, and I adore Harper."

"Harper is nothing like you, she's a sweet innocent girl," Rachel argued immediately. "Harper is approachable! You're not."

"Who says I'm not approachable?" Santana scowled. When Marley and Rachel exchange looks, Santana scoffs, "You know this is why I don't like coming to these things and would rather spend time with my mate." Santana pauses and then grins. "You know what, I'm going to go and see if she's up for more baby-making practice."

"You seem to be in a mood this morning," Tina commented. "Everything going okay?"

Santana scowled, how could she not be in a mood. She hated when her house was empty, Charlie had been forced to drop off Harper last night, before leaving herself to go on a stupid road trip where she was off to train in the mountains or something equally as ridiculous. "My mate is off playing soldier in the woods, and Harper is with her incubator for the weekend."

Tina made a bit of a face, "How's that going?"

"I really need to have a conversation with my mate about going off into the woods to punch trees or whatever it is she's doing," Santana grumbled.

"Not Charlie, I saw her last week, so I know she's fine."

Santana glared at Tina, "What is with everyone wanting to get into bed with my mate?"

"She's hot, and she treats you so well Santana. I mean you brag about her all the time, you can't really blame anyone for wanting your mate," Tina shoots back with a shrug of her shoulder, before Santana can snap at her she laughs. "I meant about Harper?"

"I went out and got her a phone, so she could call me if anything happened," Santana admits frowning. "We're both worried but I heard from David, that Mack went to confront Charlie and they needed to make sure that she didn't do something stupid. I need her to call me first before she calls Charlie, because I'm honest to god afraid of what Charlie would do if anything happened to Harper. I'm not going to visit my alpha in prison, and she's not going to make me a single mother. We agreed that she would do all the not fun baby things that I don't want to do."

"That's actually pretty smart, but you're going to need to tell Charlie at some point."

"I know, and it's not like I'm intentionally trying to go behind Charlie's back, but Charlie's trigger when it comes to Harper and my honor is sensitive. I don't even think she thinks about it, she just reacts. She will kill him and I don't think she'll feel guilty, and if she hurts Strando then I know that Harper will be taken away from me and given to Mack and none of us want that."

"Yeah," Tina agrees, before pausing. "Your phone is buzzing."

Santana reaches into her pocket and glances at the name before immediately answering it, turning away from Tina. "Harper? What's going on?"

'I wanna go home.'

Santana pauses for a moment, it sounded like Harper had been crying, she could hear how thick with emotion her voice was and it nearly breaks her heart. "I'm going to come and get you alright. Are you okay? Are you safe?" She tightens her grip on the phone and she can hear yelling in the background, it sounded like Mack and Strando were going at it.

'No.'

Santana inhales sharply, "Give me twenty minutes, I'll be there," Santana promises not even caring that getting to Mack's place in that time seemed impossible. She's not sure if Harper should hang up the phone or not, "Harper I need you to hide and keep out of Mack and Strando's sight for now, can you do that for me. Don't come out until I'm there okay?"

'Okay,' Harper sniffled. 'Hurry mom.'

"I will baby I swear," Santana vows as she quickly begins to head down to the entrance so she can grab an Uber. She would text her mami in the car and let her know what was going on. After that she was going to have to let Charlie know. "Fuck. Tina, something's happened—"

"Go, I'll let them know what's going on," Tina promises. "Do you want me to let your father know?"

"Please," Santana said, before taking off. Her daughter needed her and she would make damned sure that she rescued her.
