I don't remember leaving my car or how I felt, I just knew that I was being hugged. Hugged by the most wonderful person I could ever have encountered.

I don't know how long we stayed in each other's arms for, but I never wanted it to end. This is was home feels like - being with the person you love.

He was the first one to pull away and I stared up into his eyes. His eyes were mesmerizing like the sea on a sunny day, reflective and bright. But I knew something was off with him.

"God, Bella, I've missed you." He whispered.

I put my head against his chest and listened to his heartbeat. I looked back up again and I knew that he wasn't going to take me home.

"You're not going to take me home, are you?" I asked, choking on the growing lump in my throat.

He let go of me. "I'm so sorr-"

"No..." I cried. "No...no, Emmett, please!"

He looked at the man who brought me to the doctor's and then back at me.

"Bella, if I took you now, it would be a war. A lot of people could die."

"So you want to put both your unborn child and me back in that dungeon?"

He looked away, torn and heartbroken. "Bella, if you never left that night then this wouldn't have happened." Emmett muttered harshly. He was back to being the boss. "Bella, look, nothing will happen to you or our little bug. I have people on the in keeping a look out for you. You know Rob over there? He's looking out for you."

I looked at the man who I abandoned. "Emmett, I can't go back there and pretend to love Stefan. There is no way that I'm going to marry him!"

He pulled me back into his arms. "Bella, I know you're mad, okay? But I give you my word that you won't walk down the aisle. I have a plan."

I frowned up at him. "What plan?"

"I can't tell you. If he thinks you know something, both you and our little bug are dead. I can't put either of you at risk." Emmett shook his head once.

"Then why are you here?" I nearly shouted. "It hurts knowing that you won't take me back home. It hurts even more knowing that you're sending me back to hell!"

He let out a shaky breath. "I had to see, smell and kiss you. I needed to feel sane again because I was going insane. The night I heard you went missing, my entire world stopped spinning because I thought you were as good as dead." He pulled his arms from around me waist and closed his eyes. He went rigid, his hands balling up into fists at his sides. "Then I found out that sick fuck had you. I almost stormed over there to..."

Honestly, I didn't think he was taking it this hard. I only thought about myself. God, I'm so selfish.

I closed the small gap between us and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't think you'd be taking it this hard. I thought I was alone in this."

He looked at me in disbelief. "How could you think that? I love you more than life itself! I would never let you go back there if I knew it wasn't safe. Think about it like this; just two more weeks. After that, you and our baby are coming home."

I looked up at him, speechless.

"I love you." I whispered, tears pricking my eyes. Emmett half smiled at me and put both his hands on either side of my face.

"I love you, too." He murmured, then he kissed me.

It felt so right. I would take this moment and relive it over and over. I was desperate to have him back again and I would go to any lengths for him. Okay, two more weeks. That's okay.

I pulled away from him, smiling widely. "Do you want to know if you're having a boy or a girl?" I asked, observing him as his entire face lights up with excitement.

I took his left hand that was cupping my face and brought it down to the top of my stomach.

"This is your son." I told him.

Emmett looked up at me, his big eyes wide and eager. "Son? I'm having a son?" I didn't know what to do, so I nodded.

"Do you want to see the ultrasound photos?" I queried.

"Please." He replied and I walked back to the car and got the ultrasound photos out.

"He's growing." I stated.

Emmett stared at the photos for a long time, tracing random patterns and thoughtfully smiling as he went from picture to picture.

"He looks big." He remarked.

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, I wonder who's side of the family he got that from."

"It has to be your side." He teased.

After ten minutes, Rob interrupted us, telling us that I needed to head back before Stefan assumes that I ran away.

Emmett stared at me, a look of pure love in his eyes.

"I love you, Bella," He began. "I will be back soon."

I nodded. "I love you, too. I trust that you will come back, but it's hard. But promise me one more thing...promise me that you'll keep my family safe."

"I have people looking out for Kim, Jared and Angela." He said.

He pulled me into his arms one last time before escorting me to the back of the car. I got into the car and rolled the windows down, leaning out the window to kiss him. As the car began to pull away, I looked back at him, fighting the tears that threatened to roll down my cheeks. As his figure became smaller and smaller, the pain in my heart grew.

Later that night, I was sitting at the dinner table, eating. What plan was Emmett brewing? Could he be planning to take every guard down? But Stefan knows a wars going on, he surely has more guards lined up. I hate being out of the loop.

After finishing dinner, I got ready to go to bed. Before I turned out the lights, there was a knock on the door.

"Come in!" I invited, and in comes Stefan with two boxes. One was small and the other was big.

"Hello, sweetie." He grinned. "I heard you had some big news today!"

"What news?" I asked, playing dumb.

"That we're having a boy! You know, where I come from, having a boy first represents good fortune." He said, handing me the bigger box.

Does he think that I'm ever going to let him father my child? Hah, yeah right. "What's in here?"

"Open it." He instructed.

Frowning, I opened the flap of the box to reveal a big, blue teddy bear. It was cute.

"Oh, thank you." I said, taking it out of the box.

"I would do anything for you and our little bug. That's what you nicknamed him, correct?"

I nodded. "What's in the other box?"

He glanced at the little box. "I understand that you have been missing your friends and family." He picked the box up and put it on my bed. Without asking, I opened it to reveal a cell phone. I frowned up at him. "You've been good and I thought it was about time that I granted your wish."

I couldn't wrap my head around this. "But why?"

He shrugged. "I want to make you happy. In truth, I took you because I wanted to make Emmett's life horrific, but you ended up growing on me." He pressed he pressed his lips together. "I want to show you that I can be a good person."

I didn't say anything. I tried to read him, but there was no evidence to whether or not he was lying. When I didn't speak, he stood up.

"I'll give you some time alone. I'll see you tomorrow, Bella." He said and then left.

I stared at the cell phone. Should I call Emmett? No. No, this must be some sort of test.

I took the cell phone and dialed Kim's number. I heard it ring twice before she picked up.

"Hello?"

I breathed in. "Kim?"

She was silent for a very long time, and I was starting to wonder if she was still there.

"Bella..." She finally replied. "is...is that really you?"

"Yes, yes, Kim, it's me!"

"Oh my god." She said. "Where the hell have you been?"

I looked around my room, realizing that everyone was probably gone by now. "I-it's a long story. I can't tell you right now."

She sighed. "I understand, but whatever you've got yourself into, I just want you to know that we don't believe any of the rumors that have been going around, okay?"

I held back the tears and immediately regretted losing hope in them. "Thank you. Hey, did you find out what you're having."

"Yeah!" She said, sounding a little more excited. "I'm having a little boy!"

"Me too." I smiled to myself.

"They're going to me great friends!" She squealed and I smiled a little bit wider.

For a while, she talked about the things that have been happening and what I've missed out on. Angela has a new boyfriend now while Kim and Jared bought a new house. Every single thing she talked about was enough to keep me on the line, because we both know that this might be the last time we'll talk for a while.

When she was finally finished talking, she said her farewells and hung up. I let the tears fall this time before looking at the phone again. Without thinking, I dialed my father's number but it went to voicemail.

"Hey, daddy?" I paused, knowing that he won't pick up but I have to keep going with my message. "I know you haven't heard from me in a long time. But I just wanted to let you know that I'm fine and your grandson is doing well, too. And please, don't believe any of the rumors that you hear about me. Okay, I love you dad, please send my love to Sue and Seth for me."

I turned the phone off and laid in bed. I really hoped Emmett's plan will pull through.

I rolled onto my side, holding my pillow closely to my chest. I wished I could have gone home with Emmett today, but I know that would have turned out terribly for others and as much as I wanted to go home, I'm not going to let others die at my expense.

I stared up at the ceiling and then to the little window, where I saw only one star brightly shining against the dark matter of space. One thing's for sure, life's going to shoot bullets at you.

And you're going to have to learn how to dodge them.
