Iris's POV

"Auntie Iris, wake up!" Ren whined as I felt a small finger poke my cheek. "Five more minutes, Ren." I mumbled. "Ai is missing." She told me. My eyes snapped open and I jumped out of bed. "When did she go missing?" I asked her as I tried to put on my slippers and grab my phone. "I don't know, I woke up to go to potty and I didn't see her in bed, so I got Mommy and she told me to get you as she went to go look for Ai." She told me as she followed me out of my room.

I looked at the time to see how much time game I might be working with here. We sent her to bed at one in the morning and it's three now so at any point between the last two hours she went missing. "Ren, stay close to me while I search for your sister." I instructed as I dialed Yuuki's number. "Iris, Ai is miss-" "I know, Ren told me. Have you searched the house?" I asked. "I'm still in the house searching." She told me. "Alright in that case I'll go outside and search with Ren." I told her. "I'm a terrible mother." Yuuki cried. "No you're not, she's," I opened the door and my eyes widened in surprise to see Ai dressed in an overcoat and her soirée dress," right in front of me." I said confusedly. Ai looked at me surprised though I could tell she has been crying.

Yuuki hanged up on me and I sighed and put up my phone. I knelt in front of Ai and she jumped into my arms. "Oof, are you alright?" I asked as I wrapped my arms around her. She nodded and I picked her up and shut the door behind me. "Ai!" Yuuki cried as she came around the corner from the library. Ai turned around and reached for her mother and Yuuki gingerly took her from my arms. "You had us worried sick! I'm so happy you're safe!" Yuuki told her. There was a knock on the door and I opened it to see Ichijo. "Ah, Iris~sama!" He gasped in surprise at how fast I opened it. As much as I tried to assure him it was okay to drop 'sama' he insisted to refer me as such so I kind of just rolled with it, especially since he sincerely means it out of respect. "Sorry, Ichijo, didn't mean to scare you." I apologized. He smiled at me and waved me off." It's fine, I was just making sure Ai~sama made it inside safely." He told me. "Ichijo-San, you found Ai?! Where was she?!" Yuuki gasped. "She didn't tell you guys?" He asked confused. I shook my head and looked over at Ai with a cocked eyebrow.

Shouldn't the sneaking out be during her teenage years not when she's seven?!

I glanced over at Ichijo and saw he looked very nervous, clearly scared he unknowingly aided a runaway. "It's alright, Ichijo, thank you so much," I assured him. He relaxed a little and nodded. "In that case since she is safe and sound, I will be on my way. It was nice to see you again, Iris~sama, you as well Yuuki~sama." He told us before stepping down from the steps. I closed the door and looked over at Yuuki and Ai. "I'll go back to bed now while you address this." I yawned as I picked up Ren since she was starting to look tired as well. "Come on, Ren, let's go back to bed," I told her. She nodded her head sleepily and rested her head on my shoulder.

I carried her back to her bed and went back to my room so I can get back to sleep…as long as no children decide to sneak out tonight.

I heard my phone buzz and I groaned. Please tell me I did not just jinx it!

I looked at my phone and saw it was a text from Zero.

"Hey don't worry about coming in tomorrow, if the association really needs you I'll call you. I love you and get some sleep…please!"

I couldn't help snicker at the fact he went from stressing about my thirst to the amount of sleep I get over the past few years. Honestly, though I was grateful for the fact he pretty much had me on call instead…little odd like he knew I was having a long night. It couldn't possibly be Ai snuck out to see Zero, could it?

She did look like she had cried and his text timing is a little suspicious…I mean it could just be a coincidence though again the last time I thought things involving Zero were just a coincidence I found out he was the masked school "ghost". I mean it could be the one time where it was actually a coincidence, but I had a nagging feeling it wasn't. Maybe I do need to work on getting more sleep?

I'll probably talk to Yuuki about it tomorrow or confront Zero if I go head first into this train of thoughts.
