Adrien woke up, again, to the sound of Plagg begging for food. "If I had to have one wish, I'd wish for you to be lactose intolerant," Adrien grumbled. The black kwami took no notice and devoured the slice of cheese in one giant bite. The blonde did his normal daily routine before going to eat breakfast.

When he was done, he thanked the woman who had served him and grabbed his schoolbag. Adrien ran down the stairs of his cold, empty house and was about to leave before he heard his father's voice.

"Yes, I'm busy. I was right in the middle of something very important. What do you want?" Gabriel testily asked through the phone.

Adrien thought to himself, "Classic father, shouting at someone before breakfast." Curious, he poked his head into the office.

Gabriel suddenly became angry and fumed, "What? This is unacceptable! The sample garment doesn't match at all!" He slammed his fist on an open book. "All you had to do was follow a pattern. Imbeciles!" The older man closed the book and walked away, holding it to his chest.

As his father continued to reprimand whoever was on the phone, Adrien was shocked to see him put the book into a secret safe behind the painting of his mother. "Since when was that there?" he thought conspiratorially. Gabriel began walking closer to the door that Adrien was hiding behind so he leapt out of the way, hiding behind a nearby pillar. Once the coast was clear, Adrien stepped out and asked, surprised, "He hides stuff behind the painting of Mom?"

Plagg gleefully replied, "I love dirty secrets!" and flew behind his chosen. Adrien walked carefully into the room and stared at his mother's painting. He pulled the painting back but just as he was about to try a password, Plagg eagerly urging him, he stopped himself. "I can't do it. My dad wouldn't like me going through his stuff! Besides, I don't even know the code and my fencing class is about to start!"

Plagg stared at him, disappointed, and snarked, "You're such a party pooper." The black kwami phased through the safe, ignoring Adrien's pleas to stop. From inside, Plagg remarked, "My, my, what have we got in here?" Adrien angrily opened the safe. "A book on Tibet, an old flyer from a hotel, a load of old junk? Come on, Where's the good stuff?" He threw the book his father had been holding at Adrien and, after taking a look at it, murmured, "I've seen this book somewhere before…" Adrien opened a page on Chat Noir and gasped but Plagg just continued, "But who cares, I'm famished! I need camembert!" Adrien was so wrapped up in the book that he didn't even notice a brooch in the shape of peacock feathers sitting in the safe.

Ignoring the kwami, Adrien asked himself, "Why is my dad keeping this locked in a safe?" At the sight of the supervillain, Adrien gasped, "Hawk Moth? What's this monster doing in a book about superheroes?"

Tired of being ignored, Plagg yelled, "Cheese? Didn't you hear me?"

Suddenly, Adrien heard faint footsteps coming towards the office and, after debating whether or not to keep it, closed the safe, moved the painting back and stuffed the book into his bag right as Natalie walked in. "That was too close for comfort!"

Once Adrien got into school, he spotted Nino and was about to go say hello when a small hand latched around his wrist. He turned around and was surprised to see olive green eyes staring up at him. The girl was slender and of average height with long, hip-length chestnut brown hair with bangs, almost similar to a horse mane. Her hair was loosely tied at the tips with orange bands where she has two shorter strands of hair. She smiled coquettishly at him and greeted, "Hey, I'm Lila Rossi."

Adrien smiled back, somewhat confused, and replied, "Adrien Agreste. I don't think I've seen your face at our school before."

Lila laughed loudly and replied, "No, today is my first day. I thought maybe the famous Adrien Agreste would be willing to show me around?" She boldly stroked a line up and down his chest and Adrien squirmed, visibly uncomfortable.

Adrien vaguely noticed she was still holding tightly onto her wrist but brushed it off. "Sure!" He tried to smile brightly. "Where do you want to go first?"

Lila immediately replied, "The library? Maybe we can start on the history homework I've heard about." Adrien nodded and suddenly, he was being pulled towards the library. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Marinette in the school courtyard standing next to Alya. He desperately tried to free his arm so he could wave but Lila kept her grip on him. When they got to the library, Lila pushed him down into a chair and whispered into his ear, "I'm gonna go grab some books we need."

Their proximity made Adrien feel slightly uncomfortable but he didn't say anything, only smiling tensely at the brunette. She sauntered away and once she was out of sight, Adrien pulled out the book from his father's safe. "I wonder why father kept this hidden away…" At the sound of Lila's footsteps, he hurriedly placed papers over the spread page.

"Hope we can get going on our history homework?" she asked while placing the books on the table and sitting next to Adrien. "It's so much more fun doing it together, don't you think?" She leant in and Adrien frantically scooted back, accidentally revealing the book, which was open on Hawk Moth. Lila's olive eyes caught sight of it and she swiped it from under his arm. "What's that?" she enquired.

Adrien abruptly deflected, "Uh, nothing! Just stories about...superheroes."

She lay her hand on top of his and simpered, "I love superheroes!" She looked back to the book and turned the page. "Scarlet Bug?"

Lila looked up to see Adrien's nose scrunched up in disgust. "Don't know if she really deserves to be in this book."

A smug smile grew on Lila's face and she raised a brow in curiosity. "Not a big fan, huh?" She picked up her chair and moved closer to him. "There are so many other superheroes to be a fan of, right?"

Uneasy at their sudden closeness, Adrien leaned back and stammered, "Uh, I don't know I mean-"

Lila interrupted, "So Scarlet Bug is a sore spot huh? I've actually talked to her a few times."

Adrien gaped, "Really?!"

Lila nodded enthusiastically and continued, "We can chat about it if you want! Not here, though. Why don't we meet at the park after school and I'll tell you everything."

Adrien nodded in agreement but the eager grin on his face faded as Lila seemed to move closer to his face. Fortunately, his phone alarm decided to go off at that moment and he abruptly stood up, laughing awkwardly, "Would you look at that? I have a fencing lesson in," he glanced at his phone. "58 seconds!" He began hastily putting his books away and Lila followed suit. When she had finished, she lay her hand on Adrien's bicep, stroking softly. The action started the blonde and he dropped his school bag, jumping slightly.

"So, the park?" Lila asked, looking down. She bent down to pick up the dropped bag and Adrien quickly took it, nodding in affirmation. He then ran out of the library, leaving Lila standing alone. She bent down once again to pick up the superhero book and opened it at a random page, landing on a fox superheroine. "Now, that just makes my life a whole lot easier." Lila smiled to herself before sauntering out of the library.

Chloe was sitting in the back of her limo, scrolling through her social media and barking orders at Butler Jean to go faster or slower. She lifted her head to shout another command at the poor butler when she spotted a brunette walking into the park. A deep frown immediately appeared on her face and she snarled, "Lila. STOP JEAN PHILIPPE!" Used to the incessant screams, the butler slowly slid into an open parking space directly opposite the park.

"Is there something you need, mademoiselle?" he enquired calmly.

She turned to Butler Jean and announced, "I'm going to investigate something so go...buy yourself some new clothes or whatever. I'll call you when I'm finished."

With that, she opened the car door and tiptoed to behind a tree near where Lila was sitting. Tikki popped her head out and was about to chastise Chloe for spying when she saw Lila bring out the book. "Chloe, I need to get a closer look at that book!" the kwami gasped quietly, flying out from behind the tree.

"Get back here, bug-brain!" Chloe fumed. "Someone's going to see you!" Tikki paid her no heed and flew discreetly behind the bench. Chloe groaned and warily tilted her head further out to better see the girl.

Lila held what looked like a fox tail pendant and smiled to herself, slipping it around her neck. She flipped the book to a page, showing a fox superheroine. At the sound of footsteps coming nearby, she stood up, holding the book behind her back. "Hey, Adrien!" She stepped towards him and carefully dropped it into the trash can behind her.

"Hey, Lila!" Adrien smiled enthusiastically. Lila suddenly grabbed Adrien's arm and pulled him down to sit next to her.

Chloe rolled her eyes and groaned, "What a brat!" Suddenly, she caught sight of Tikki moving from behind the bench to the trash can. "Get back here!" Chloe hissed quietly but the kwami just ignored her. She flew into the bin and managed to lift the book to the top of the bin before it fell again.

Zooming angrily back to Chloe, Tikki whispered, "I need you to get that book back to me, Chloe!"

"And stick my hand in that disgusting trash can?" Chloe shuddered.

Tikki stared exasperatedly before suggesting sarcastically "Or maybe I'll just reveal to Adrien and Lila that you're Scarlet Bug."

Chloe immediately begged, "No, no, you can't!" She was too wrapped up in the idea of losing her miraculous that it didn't occur to her that it was Tikki who had initially told her to never share her identity. "Fine, I'll get your stupid book!" She stomped (quietly) to the trash can, gagged overdramatically and stuck her hand inside the bin, feeling for the book. When she finally got hold of it, she yanked it out, holding it by the tips of her fingers, and stomped back to Tikki. "Here's your precious book," she snarked, dumping it into Tikki's tiny hands, which definitely couldn't hold it up. Not taking notice of the struggling kwami, Chloe went back to her original mission : eavesdropping on Adrien and Lila.

"There's actually a reason Scarlet Bug doesn't seem to like Chat Noir or me. Because we're both superheroes!" Lila excitedly told Adrien.

Adrien's brows shot up in disbelief and he gasped, "You're a superhero?"

Lila giggled and held his hand, explaining, "I'm the descendant of a vixen superheroine, Volpina!"

Adrien thought for a moment before exclaiming, "I recognise that name, I saw it in the book!" He went to look in his bag for said book but Lila hastily stopped him.

Adrien raised a brow at her sudden action but she continued, "Volpina is much more celebrated and powerful than Scarlet Bug. She really isn't that special when they're compared side by side."

Little did Lila know that Scarlet Bug herself was just a few feet away from them and was growing more furious by the word. "How dare that liar say that about me? Well, I'll teach her! Tikki, spots on!" A pink light overtook her body as she became her alter ego, not even taking notice that anyone could've seen her. She swung her yoyo out and jumped to the carousel so as to give the impression that she hadn't been watching them. Scarlet Bug then jumped back in and immediately began attacking Lila. "So you're the girl who's been bad-mouthing me, huh?" she accused, relishing in the shocked look on both their faces. "Are you really that shallow that you've decided to brainwash Adrien Agreste into thinking I'm the bad guy?"

At this, Adrien stood up and defended, "Scarlet Bug, why are you being so mean to a civilian that you've apparently never met?"

"Because she's a liar!" the superheroine fumed. "She claims to be the descendant of some fox superheroine called Volpina but looky here!" She snatched the necklace around Lila's neck and put it around her own. "If it were a real miraculous, a kwami would appear."

"You're not supposed to reveal any secrets to civilians, idiot!" Adrien yelled inwardly, glaring at Scarlet Bug. He then turned to Lila and asked, "So, you're not the descendant of a superhero?"

Scarlet Bug took the necklace of and threw it at the embarrassed girl, interrupting, "She's more like a super liar!"

Tears welled up in Lila's eyes and she picked up her necklace, running out of the park while sobbing. "Lila, wait!" Adrien tried to stop her but she just brushed past him. He turned and rounded on the smug superhero. "Why would you treat her like that?"

Scarlet Bug just flipped her hair and claimed, "Superhero business. You wouldn't understand."

As she swung away, Adrien thought darkly, "Oh, if only you knew." He picked up his bag and opened it, looking for the book. When he realised it wasn't there he hissed, panicked, "I swear it was here just before!" He looked around cautiously before allowing Plagg to fly out. "Plagg, have you touched the book?" he whispered.

"Nuh-uh!" the black kwami denied.

Adrien groaned and ran his hand through his hair. "Father is going to be livid. Ugh, I'd better go check on Lila." He ran behind a tree and transformed before leaping into the air. His vibrant green eyes roved over the streets but was dismayed when they didn't see the brunette. Suddenly, he heard loud cries of terror and his head immediately snapped to where the sound was coming from. His eyes widened at the sight of a giant meteor gravitating directly towards the Louvre. Without thinking twice, he bound towards the area. When he was a few feet away, an orange blur zipped past him, slightly throwing him off balance. "What on earth was that?" he thought, stopping on a nearby rooftop to investigate. The orange blur, revealing herself as what looked like a vixen superhero, stopped directly in the trajectory of the meteor and right when it would've crushed her, she caught the meteor and hurled it back into the sky. Chat Noir gaped in disbelief at the blatant display of strength. "Volpina?"

The crowd below began cheering at the superhero that supposedly saved the day and Volpina leapt to a rooftop, disappearing for a few seconds. When she emerged, she announced, "Citizens of Paris, I am Volpina, the only superhero Paris will ever need!"

That last statement slightly threw Chat Noir off but he didn't have time to process it as the superheroine he was just thinking about landed right beside him. "Hey Chat Noir!" she excitedly greeted him. "Don't worry, I'm on your side!"

The leather-clad superhero was about to thank her when, for the first time in forever, Scarlet Bug landed beside him. "Scarlet Bug?!" he exclaimed in surprise. "What on earth are you doing here?"

The ladybug superhero snootily flipped her hair and remarked, "Aren't I allowed to fight sometimes?"

Chat, still not believing his eyes, shook his head and explained, "Anyway, we've got a new ally! Meet Volpina." Said superhero waved excitedly.

Scarlet rolled her eyes and deadpanned, "You don't really trust after she just appeared out of nowhere?"

"Yes, actually, because we appeared out of nowhere as well!" Chat fired back. "Is it so hard for you to be supportive of someone that isn't yourself?"

Volpina cut in, "Sorry to cut in but we've got bigger problems right now!" She pointed to a nearby rooftop, where Hawk Moth was standing.

Chat Noir agreed, "Volpina is right, we need to go!"

He was about to leap off after the super villain when Scarlet Bug grabbed onto his wrist and yelled, "Wait! What's your miraculous, Volpina? What's the name of your kwami? What are your powers?"

Before she could answer, Hawk Moth teleported to another rooftop and Volpina ran after him without another word. Chat turned on Scarlet Bug and hissed, "I know that you're a self-absorbed brat but you could at least try to help us here? Can you find a space in your icy heart to care about at least the welfare of Paris?" With that, he left her on the rooftop, bounding after Volpina. When Hawk Moth stopped atop, Chat and Volpina also stopped nearby, Scarlet Bug following closely behind.

"Ok, Scarlet Bug, you go to the right and Chat Noir to the left, while I come up from behind," Volpina instructed.

Scarlet Bug scoffed, "And who made you leader? I am the official leader of this dysfunctional group so I say I'll go right, Chat Noir will go behind, and you will go left."

Volpina smirked and murmured, "If it makes you happy, I guess."

She was about to do as instructed when Chat Noir stopped her. "I just wanted to say it's really great to have a fellow superhero who actually works with me," he thanked sincerely.

Volpina grinned, "No problem!"

Chat cut in, "No, seriously. You have no idea how glad I am to have you around."

Volpina smirked again, thinking to herself, "Oh, you poor oblivious kitty-cat. I almost feel bad." She then leapt off.

Chat Noir bounded towards Hôtel de Ville but was shocked when he seemed to have disappeared. Looking around desperately, he caught sight of the supervillain on another roof and leapt after him. Again, Hawk Moth disappeared and Chat Noir was becoming increasingly confused. "How is he teleporting so easily?" He continued walking along the rooftop until his foot stepped into a green box, locking him in place. Suddenly, large rockets and missiles shot up and surrounded him. "What is this?" he exclaimed angrily. When Volpina came into his line of how, he urged, "Volpina, get out of here! I don't want to set them off!" When the superheroine just began cackling, he asked, confused, "Why aren't you leaving?"

"Oh, you're such a gullible kitten," she chuckled. "I had planned on catching the Scarlet Brat but this works just fine too."

Chat Noir frowned and snarled, "So you're a fake? Scarlet was right, you're just a liar!"

Volpina snapped back, "It's your precious Scarlet's fault that I'm this way! She humiliated me in front of-" she stopped herself before continuing. "Anyway, she's going to pay! You're just unlucky enough to be caught in her punishment."

Chat thought for a moment before whispering, "Lila? Is that you?"

"My name is Volpina! And now, everyone will believe that I am the most powerful superhero." A purple outline of a butterfly appeared in front of her face and she grinned smugly. "And now, you're gonna give me your miraculous or," she pointed to a nearby building. "That building is going down, crushing everyone in it."

"You're bluffing!"

"Watch me!" She blew a note into her flute and a giant ball of energy grew at the other side. She shot the ball into the building she had pointed to and it immediately crumbled.

Taking in the damage and screaming people, Chat yelled, "Ok, fine!" His hand moved to slip his ring off his finger when his eyes caught something. A pigeon flew through the falling rubble but when a brick touched it's wing, all the debris disappeared. Chat Noir turned triumphantly to the supervillian, taunting, "I see your power is of lies and illusions - fitting based on your character." He swung his baton around all the missiles, watching them dissolve in mid-air. Chat tried to knock Volpina over but once his baton hit her ankle, she also disappeared. "Ugh, she wasn't even really here?" He opened his baton and rang Scarlet Bug. After 3 rings, she picked up. "Scarlet, you were right! Volpina is a girl named Lila, akumatized."

"Of course I was right!" she hissed. "You are too trusting for your own good, alley-cat!"

"Ok, now that you've gloated enough, I hope you realise that it's your fault. You embarrassed her in front of a boy!" Chat chastised.

"Ugh, I was just revealing what kind of girl she is."

"Whatever, I think she might be going for the boy so head straight for the Agreste mansion!" Chat heard the superheroine gasp before exclaiming something that sounded a lot like 'My Adrikins' and then the call cut. "Well, that went better than I expected." Chat made his way to his house, stopping at a roof nearby. He had never been more glad that his father and Nathalie kept his windows closed when he wasn't home.

Not long after, Volpina landed on a closer rooftop but stomped in frustration when she realised there wasn't any way to get inside. She then ran off in the direction of the Eiffel Tower. A moment after she left, Scarlet Bug swung in, panting breathlessly. "Where is she? Has she gotten Adrien?"

Chat was rendered speechless for a few seconds, shocked that she cared so much about his civilian self. "Um, no. She couldn't get in because his father is crazy strict."

"Well, of course I know that!" she hissed. "Where has the psycho gone now?"

"I think to the Eiffel Tower."

"Then what are you waiting for? His life could be in danger!"

She swung off without another word, leaving Chat Noir stunned. "Guess I have to go save myself. Ooh, that sounded weird." He bounded off after Scarlet Bug and found her scaling the Eiffel Tower. At the top, Volpina was standing at the top, holding fake-Adrien by the wrist. "Scarlet Bug, that's not the real Adrien! It's an illusion."

"You don't know that!" she called back desperately. Chat continued trying to catch up with her. "I would rather be safe than sorry."

Luckily, Scarlet Bug didn't have as much experience as Chat so he quickly overtook her, swinging his baton so fake-Adrien disappeared. Once he was close enough, he called out, "CATACLYSM!" He pressed his hand to the bar where Volpina was standing but caught her before she could fall too far. She tried to struggle against his tight arm but he refused to loosen his grip. Once they had gotten to a lower bar, he dropped her but not before snatching the necklace she was wearing and throwing it onto the floor. A small black butterfly flew out and he called out, "Scar!"

The superheroine appeared behind him, fuming, "You don't get to call me that!" She captured the akuma and watched as Volpina became Lila. "Hey! You have no business pretending to put Adrien in that kind of danger!" She walked up close to the brunette and hissed, "Don't you ever do that again." She swung off without another word.

Chat Noir turned to the brunette and asked, his voice strained, "Do you need help getting down?"

Lila gushed, "Oh, I don't want to bother y-" Before she could continue, Chat Noir leapt off the monument, rushing back to his house.

Once he landed in an alleyway nearby, he called off his transformation. He began walking towards the house, ignoring Plagg's pleas for camembert. He entered and was lucky enough to not encounter either Nathalie, Gorilla or his father. Once he got into his room, he threw his bag to the side and dropped heavily onto his couch. "Adrien?" Plagg tentatively asked. "Are you alright?"

"No, Plagg!" he suddenly snapped. "The prospect of having a partner who actually worked with me was dangled right in front of my face and right when it was working out, it turns out she was an akumatized villain!" He groaned and dropped his head into his hands, continuing wearily, "I thought for once, maybe, I had someone on my side but I guess I was wrong. I don't know how much more of Scarlet never helping me I can take anymore." He sighed and whispered, "Maybe I'm just not cut out for this anymore."

Plagg's eyes widened at that statement an dhe reassured frantically, "No, Adrien, you were chosen for this job! You can't leave it."

"No, I'm sure someone else would be happy with the cat miraculous."

His hand moved to remove his ring but Plagg stopped him. Sighing heavily, the kwami promised, "After you go on patrol today, I'll take you to the great Guardian. You normally don't get to meet him this early on but maybe he can help with your… situation." Adrien sighed and reluctantly conceded, getting up to grab a wheel of cheese for Plagg.

Patrol didn't take too long as Chat was letting his anger out by jumping as fast as he could from roof to roof. When he was done, he sat on a bar on the Eiffel Tower, contemplating the events of the day. "Scarlet seemed to really care about Adrien. Probably a fan that doesn't know the first thing about me." He was startled by a cough behind him and he immediately took a defensive stance. When he saw who it was, though, he was shocked. "Scarlet Bug? What are you doing here?" he gasped in disbelief.

"It's patrol, isn't it?" she fired back.

"Yeah, but you've never thought to come before," Chat retorted.

Scarlet flipped her hair and said, "Whatever. I came to give you something." Only then did Chat notice there was something under her left arm. She brought it out and held it out to him. "Tikki said you need to tell your kwami to take this to the great Guardian. Apparently I can't be trusted with it. " She whispered the last part bitterly, clearly resentful towards Tikki. A frown was evident in her pale face, illuminated by the moonlight.

Upon further inspection, Chat realised it was his father's book that he had lost. He gaped at Scarlet Bug before murmuring, "Tikki?"

Scarlet rolled her eyes and stated, "Yes, Tikki, my kwami. Just, take the book." She thrust it into his arms and wiped her hands on her thighs. "Now that that's done, I'm gonna go. Bye."

She was about to swing off the Eiffel Tower, when Chat stopped her. "Um, I wanted to apologise for what I said earlier. I think the exact words were 'self-absorbed brat' and 'icy heart'. I was just… frustrated."

Scarlet squirmed uncomfortably, clearly confused by the apology, and nodded before leaving him alone on the tower.

Chat stared at the book, still shocked by the fact that Scarlet had managed to find it. "That's one problem of today solved." With his shoulders feeling a little lighter, Chat Noir swung back to his house and once he landed on his bedroom floor, he called off his transformation. When Plagg zoomed out, he whispered in excitement, "Plagg, guess what! Scarlet found father's book so now we can put it back inside the safe like nothing ever happened!"

Plagg zoomed around the boy before cautiously asking, "She just gave it to you? Didn't she say anything?"

Remembering his partner's words Adrien groaned and replied, "Well, she did say her kwami said to take it to the great Guardian."

Plagg's eyes narrowed suspiciously and he asked, "Did she tell you her kwami's name?"

"Uh, I think it was Tikki or something?"

At the name, Plagg flew in a circle, exclaiming loudly, "Tikki! Oh, I haven't heard from her in so long! But she's Scarlet Bug's kwami? And I thought I got unlucky with my holders!"

"Plagg, snap out of it!" Adrien hissed. "So, will I not be able to give father his book back?"

The black kwami immediately stopped, replying hotly, "Absolutely not! If Tikki says we have to take the book to the Guardian then that's what we're going to do."

"Are you sure this is the right place?" Adrien whispered as he furtively stepped into the massage shop that Plagg had led him to.

"Just trust me!" Plagg hissed back.

When they stepped into the main room, Adrien was shocked to see an old man, seemingly meditating in the middle of the floor. His eyes opened and he smiled calmly at the teenager. "Adrien Agreste. What a pleasant surprise."

Adrien's eyes widened as he exclaimed, "Hey, I recognise you! You're the guy that couldn't reach his walking stick near my school!" The old man stood up and Adrien was taken aback. "So, I guess you don't need a walking stick?"

He only smiled before turning to Plagg. "I thought I made it clear that I would prefer if you didn't bring back your holders?" he asked tightly.

Plagg rolled his eyes and answered, "Yes, I know, Master, but this is really important! Show him what you found." Adrien held out the book as Plagg continued "It was in his father's safe along with a book on Tibet. It all seemed vaguely familiar to me."

The old man reached out to take the book before Adrien asked, "Wait, who are you?"

He smiled before replying, "I am Master Fu, the last known member of the order of the guardians."

A green kwami flew out from behind him, continuing, "Guardians of the Miraculous. I'm Wayzz, Master Fu's kwami! It's a pleasure to meet you, Adrien."

Adrien chuckled nervously before murmuring, "You too!"

Master Fu continued, "We guardians are responsible for protecting and distributing the miraculous - for the good of all humanity." He held out a large box in front of Adrien and the teenager gasped at the sight of two other miraculous inside. "We are chosen in childhood and trained for many years, especially for this mission. When we were much younger, we- No, I made a mistake. The guardians' temple was destroyed, all because of me. Two of the miraculous were lost that day : the butterfly and the peacock." The marking on the peacock section looked vaguely familiar to Adrien but he brushed it off, listening intently to Master Fu. "Also gone forever was the ancient spellbook." Adrien held out the book to the guardian and he smiled contentedly, taking it from him. "I see I didn't make a mistake with who I gave the miraculous to."

"If only the same could be said for Scarlet Bug," Plagg snarked, playing around with Wayzz.

At this, Master Fu's smile disappeared. "Scarlet Bug? Don't you mean Ladybug?"

"No, Plagg is right," Adrien supplied. "She barely ever shows up to help and treats me like trash. We also came to ask if you'd be able to change who Ladybug is."

Master Fu sat down and murmured to himself, "I was sure I had chosen the right person." He turned back to Adrien and replied, "No, if she acts the way you said, she most likely won't want to give up her miraculous to anyone else."

Adrien's face fell and he shrugged, "Well, I guess it was worth a try."

Master Fu stood up and grasped Adrien's hands before he could leave. "Thank you, Adrien. This book is invaluable. And I will do my best to find a way to make this job easier for you." Adrien smiled wearily before turning away and calling Plagg to follow him. The black kwami waved at Wayzz and the guardian before leaving behind his holder. Once they were gone, Master Fu sat down again and lamented to Wayzz, "I can't believe I've made yet another mistake!"

"It's okay, Master!" the green kwami tried to reassure. "I'm sure Tikki will help her!"

At that moment, the kwami they were talking about flew in. "Master, you have to help us!" Tikki cried. "My holder is the worst one I've ever had!" She sat beside Wayzz for a few seconds before bursting into tears.

"Oh, Tikki!" Wayzz exclaimed, trying to comfort her. "I've never seen you this distraught before!"

"It's just so hard!" she sobbed. "She never listens to me and leaves Chat Noir to do all the work! Even he's getting more and more frustrated!"

After a few minutes of soothing words from Master Fu and Wayzz, Tikki's tears subsided. "I hadn't realised the situation was so bad!" Master Fu thought out loud.

Tikki piped up, "I came here to ask you if it would be possible to allow another to become a superhero?"

Master Fu's frown deepened and he asked, "Do you really think it's a good idea to do that? I'm not sure we'd be able to find someone as good as Chat Noir."

Tikki nodded confidently. "I have the perfect person."

"Who is it?" Wayzz jumped in.

"Marinette Dupain-Cheng."

Someone in the comments kinda guessed this but never mind! Also, I made most of this chapter in Adrien's POV because I feel that it was important to see how he perceived this situation. There will be more of Chloe/Marinette POV in future chapter though.
