In light of the new episode, I basically rewrote the entire epilogue from what I originally had in mind. Enjoy.
Epilogue
Present day...
Emperor Belos has built his empire in the Boiling Isles. When he took power 50 years ago, he implemented a lot of change. He created his coven system that every magic school currently abides by, and has forbidden the use of wild magic. The three magic schools, Hexside, (which was built upon the ruins of the old Glandus school) Glandus and St Epiderm must abide by these rules.
Belos was making preparations for the Day of Unity. He now has the portal, but it was damaged by Luz, the human girl that had stumbled into the Boiling Isles a few months prior. He couldn't help but somewhat...relate to the human. They both found themselves in a strange new realm and were both fascinated by the discoveries they made along the way. She even seemed to have rediscovered glyphs, a form of magic that Belos had all but forgotten about. At first, they were completely at odds with one another, but the voice of the Titan had told him to spare her, for there was a use for her yet.
Belos continued his work on the portal until it was finally fixed. Working on the portal constantly had allowed Belos to remember a lot about how he made the portal.
Only in recent years did it seem that Belos was beginning to show signs of aging. It seems that due to him being human and not having a bile sac, his aging may be slowed significantly, but he is still aging. Not only that, but the mark on his face seemed to be showing signs of decay, a sign that points to his true age. After using palisman magic for so long, his ears began to even take a similar shape as the other witches on the Boiling Isles, albeit smaller.
Fearing that someday his body will rot further, he had thought of something. 16 years prior, he had heard of something called a grimwalker. He was fascinated by the concept of creating a grimwalker, and decided to make one so that when the Day of Unity comes, he can use the grimwalker as a new vessel and sacrifice his old body so he can continue serving the Titan. What he didn't expect was that he would start to form a sort of...parental bond with the grimwalker, since he had been created in Belos' own image. Naming the grimwalker Hunter, he raised him as his own. Though he tried his best to give Hunter a safe environment, his condition didn't make that easy for him. The scar on Hunter's face was caused when Belos couldn't get his supply of palisman magic one day. He never meant to hurt Hunter...just like how he never meant to hurt Elizabeth...
Elizabeth...that's a name he hadn't thought about for a long time...and the Clawthorne sisters, Lilith and Edalyn, were a sore subject for him. Due to his rules on wild witches, he almost had Edalyn petrified. After Luz challenged him, he had decided to let her live. While he had said the Titan told him to, in truth, he had second thoughts about killing someone that is part of his bloodline. Having to banish Lilith was also tough to do, as she had up until that point been loyal to the coven. But, the Titan insisted.
Belos couldn't afford to have doubts about his mission. The Day of Unity was so close. This is what he has been working towards for the past 50 years. But somewhere in the back of his mind, he was perhaps having second thoughts about the whole thing.
Still, it was too late to turn back now.
At least, that was what he'd tell himself, but he was still having doubts. Some part of him wanted to stop, but he had to keep going because he didn't want to disappoint the Titan.
He tried to open the portal with the key he made, but unfortunately, the key disintegrated. He was missing something, but he couldn't remember what. Then it came to him. He remembered that he had made the key with the Titan's blood in it, so he needed some for the key. He informed Kikimora. He figured Eclipse Lake may have Titan's blood, as he vaguely recalled something about it, though his memory of that time had been failing him. He could barely even recall his real name half the time. One of the few things he remembered with perfect clarity though was Elizabeth...
His train of thought was interrupted by a sound. He could feel Hunter's presence.
"Would you like to see how it works...Hunter?"
