Start Of Tape
"This tape was recorded by a young man named Mitchell Connor. Mitchell decided to flee his home of Seattle after a kaiju was sighted nearby it, and he began to live in the wilds, believing that he could live as someone like Bear Grylls. This tape takes place on February 17th of 1955, around one year after the first kaiju attack."
He thought he'd be safe.
That's what he told himself. He saw the news reports of Godzillas attack and destruction of Tokyo. He watched the military's attempt to kill Godzilla with the oxygen destroyer fail as Godzilla went back into the water and left, leaving Tokyo decimated in his wake. He mourned with the rest of the world, but he still thought he'd be safe. This foolish mindset continued even as the world watched Hedorah decimate Hong Kong, and Varan pillage almost all of Australia's Northern Territory. Even when Zilla and its offspring brought doom to New York, Mitchell never once thought he would be attacked by a kaiju. But of course, he was wrong. In what was possibly the worst attack so far, Mitchell was shocked when the newly discovered monster King Ghidorah awoke from underneath Seattle, his own home, and brought terror and destruction to Americas West Coast. After being one of the only survivors of Seattle, Mitch had enough. He gathered food and water, and he promptly fucked off to go and live in the wilds, away from kaiju attacks. He would be safe.
That's what he told himself. Just go off and live in the wilderness. Hunt for your food and fight for your water, just like your ancestors used to. People do it all the time, right? It was around this time, three weeks after leaving Seattle and with his food supplies finally running low, that Mitch realised he probably should have learned how to actually survive in the wild. And now here he was, stranded in god knows where with about 5 cans of disgusting food left and a half empty water bottle. His backpack had been left behind days ago, ripped off his back while trying to escape a pack of coyotes. It was shaping up to be the worst few weeks of Mitchells life. Oh, and there was also two kaiju. Did I mention the kaiju?
Mitch ducked underneath a low growing tree as Rodan, the pterodactyl kaiju, soared above, crashing into a mountain and screeching as it fell partway down the mountains face before righting itself and standing up. Mitch crawled through the underbrush and stood up just in time to see the second kaiju, Megaguirus, a gigantic prehistoric dragonfly, flying directly for Rodan, mouth opened and emitting a guttural scream. As Rodan took off, launching off of the mountain and damn near causing an avalanche, Mitch ran back through the woods, dodging trees and jumping over logs, desperate to escape the deathmatch happening above. Mitch was thrown to the ground violently as an almighty crash sounded out as the two flying demons collided in mid-air, snapping and biting at each other.
Mitch landed on his hands, narrowly avoiding face-planting onto a rock, and pulled himself back up before bolting back away again. Turning around to see where the kaiju where, Mitch saw as Rodan viciously tore into one of Megaguirus's legs, causing blood to spurt and tearing the leg off before tossing it away. As Megaguirus screeched in pain and shoved Rodan off of her, Mitch realised that the leg had been accidentally thrown directly towards him. Cursing, he began to run to his left as the colossal limb collided with tree after tree, shearing the tops of them off and sending them downward, creating more obstacles. Ducking and weaving, Mitch managed to avoid being a red smear on the ground as the severed limb finally crashed down onto the ground, ending Mitch's frantic escape. However, he hadn't accounted for the amount of blood a kaiju could contain, and as he stopped to catch his breath, the limb crashed onto the floor and spurted an ungodly amount of pink blood directly onto Mitch's front.
"This fucking sucks," Mitch thought to himself. Before he could list off more expletives describing the situation, however, he was forced to once again move as Megaguirus re-emerged into the sky, screeching at Rodan and this time armed with an armies worth of smaller versions of herself. Megaguirus and Rodan began their aerial combat once more, as Mitch ran as fast as he could from the battle, clutching his hands over his ears to protect himself from their ear-piercing screams. Megaguirus began to fly above Rodan and brought her over-sized pincer down onto the pterodactyls back, sending Rodan tumbling onto the ground, generating a shockwave intense enough to knock Mitch off of his feet. Another series of curses ran through Mitch's mind as he hopped to his feet. Megaguirus descended and landed on top of Rodan, biting into his neck, but her swarm did not follow, seemingly distracted. All of a sudden, and at once, the swarm descended and flew directly towards Mitch.
Mitch, now understandably more panicked than before, saw the swarm coming and began to scream. Looking around, the only possible shelter he could find was a miniscule entrance to a cave, embedded in the rock face of a mountain around five hundred meters from Mitch. Realising he couldn't make it there before the swarm caught up to him, but also acknowledging the alternative, Mitch shuddered and began to sprint towards the cave. The swarm seemed to increase in speed and began to dive bomb Mitch, who had to slow himself down in order to dodge. As the giant dragonflies began to dive rapidly towards him, Mitch turned and sidestepped, desperately dodging the insects as they crashed down around him. Bodies pelted the ground around him as he dodged and weaved, the dragonflies quickly getting back up after failing their dive and flying after him.
The only reason Mitch was able to avoid the onslaught of insects was due to him quickly moving around trees with ease, being able to turn slightly faster than the Meganura and causing some of them to collide with the trees. Finally reaching the small entrance in the base of the mountain, Mitch dove forwards, catching the slightly elevated entrance with both hands and pulling himself up. The Meganura finally began to catch up as Mitch got his upper body up and through the hole, his legs kicking trying to get the rest of him inside. Desperately, Mitch grabbed the inside of the cave and pulled himself along as the Meganura got closer, before finally falling into the cave and getting his entire body in as the Meganura slammed into the rock wall, only seconds too late to catch their prey.
Mitch gasped for breath and watched as the dragonflies attempted again and again to get inside and tear at Mitch, their heads and bodies too big to fit. Mitch collapsed to his stomach and wheezed as the sounds of dragonflies scraping against rock filled his ears, before a loud screech interrupted them. The dragonflies snarled before turning and flying away, heading back towards Rodan and Megaguirus. Standing, Mitch poked his head through the entrance, curious to watch the fight now that he was safe. Rodan had thrown Megaguirus off, and now sported a bleeding wound below his neck. Both kaiju were standing on the ground, staring at each other as the Meganura swarm appeared to reinforce Megaguirus.
Suddenly, Rodan took off and launched itself at Megaguirus, catching her by surprise and cutting deep along her abdomen. Screeching, the dragonfly flew up and the two kaiju began to circle each other, waiting for the other to attack. Rodan attacked first by diving at Megaguirus, but she dodged and her swarm was quick to counterattack, biting and scratching at Rodans head before the Pterodactyl shook them off. While he was distracted, Megaguirus flew towards his back, grabbing him with her pincers and cutting into his stomach. Rodan beat his wings, and the wind pressure shook off both the swarm and Megaguirus, allowing Rodan to fly away and land on the top of the mountain opposite the mountain Mitch was in. Megaguirus landed almost directly above Mitch's hiding spot, causing him to worry before reminding himself they weren't after him.
Mitch felt his eyes begin to widen as he saw what Rodan did next. The creatures mouth began to glow as it slowly opened its maw, flames flickering to life and jumping around its mouth. Megaguirus seemed to realise what was about to happen, and her wings beat as she attempted to take flight. Rodans mouth fully opened and he unleashed a wave of molten lava that crashed upon the mountain and burned into Megaguirus's legs, causing the kaiju to scream in pain as it flew away. The lava flew from Rodans mouth and burned into the mountain, sizzling and melting into the rock, sinking further down into the base. Megaguirus landed on a hill further out of way, her abdomen scorched and smoking. Her swarm had been decimated from the attack, and landed near the queen with less than half of their initial numbers. Mitch breathed a sigh of relief as Rodan closed its mouth and cut off the attack, but relief turned to panic as the lava began to drip into the cave.
The lava had burned its way down the mountain and had now begun to melt its way through the roof of the cave. Sitting bolt upright, Mitch climbed to his feet in a hurry and clambered for the entrance, the lava dripping down more heavily than it had been a second ago. Part of the roof gave way and lava and magma poured out into the cave, forcing Mitch to jump onto a higher rock to avoid having his ankles burnt off. Rock crumbled as more parts of the ceiling gave way, more of the molten liquid spilling into and filling the cave. Mitch finally reached the exit to the cave, and as he jumped into it and pulled himself through, finally free of the molten death-trap, the rest of the ceiling caved in and unleashed the liquid onto the remainder of the cave, scorching the place where Mitch had just been. Mitch backed away from the cave before recoiling as an enormous roar pierced his ears, forcing him to cover them and look for the source. Turning, Mitch looked in horror as a new kaiju emerged from over the mountain. It was a kaiju Mitch had already seen before, the same entity that devastated Seattle and the entire West Coast, roaring, King Ghidorah turned to face Rodan, his three heads regarding the kaiju. Seemingly recognising the golden kaiju, Rodan turned to Ghidorah and bowed to him, showing obedience.
Ghidorah then turned his gaze towards Megaguirus, the dragonfly still lying wounded on top of a hill. All three of Ghidorahs heads observed Megaguirus as she took flight and hovered in front of Ghidorah. After a long period of silence, Megaguirus roared in defiance, seemingly denying Ghidorahs rule, before turning to fly off. She was not fast enough, however, as Ghidorahs three mouths opened and fired three identical lightning like beams of energy, piercing directly through Megaguirus's thick chitin, almost instantly killing her. As the kaijus corpse fell to the ground, Ghidorah and Rodan roared before spreading their wings and taking flight, their huge wings uprooting trees with wind currents and forcing Mitch to the floor. As the two beasts took to the skies and flew away from the scene, leaving behind a colossal dragonfly corpse that was currently being eaten by her own swarm, Mitch only had one thought.
'Fuck me'
