Before the chapter author's notes

After publication of Chapter one, I got alot of praise but a few questions as to the creative direction that I have decided to take the Stargate portion of the story. So I will best summarize what is and isn't canon here.

While this chapter has been a pain to get out, but I am glad I did so for nothing else than to prove that I don't need to copy Thayerblue1 in overall story flow. So let this chapter be the Christmas present from me to all of you.

Granted, the inclusion of Jack O'Neill on the bridge of the Prometheus itself is an odd choice, considering the fact that the rest of SG-1 is supposed to be somewhere in the Antarctic, there is a very simple reason why I did so. I'm IGNORING any event that is supposed to happen around Atlantis. So Stargate Atlantis doesn't really exist in this universe. There is a perfectly logical explanation as to WHY I am ignoring that series above all else. If you take a look at every planet that SG-1 visited up to that point, you find it odd that they only got 1 stargate but Earth gets 2? Doesn't really make sense if you really follow the rules of Stargate as established in the movie. Granted, elements from Atlantis will make it on to the story, but at this stage of the game, nope.

On with the chapter:

Last Time:

The Prometheus, Bridge

Colonel Jack O'Neil was flabbergasted at the power of this new ship while the rest of the crew was making connections that they shouldn't be making at the moment. "Open a line to that ship," General Hammond barked. The crew of the Prometheus got right to work.

"Line open, sir," the communications officer reported to General Hammond.

"Great hunting. I'm General Hammond, United States Air Force."

USS Wolverine, Bridge

The communications officer alerted Naruto of the new communication from the planet. "Pipe it through", Naruto said as he sat down finally.

"Great hunting. I'm General Hammond, United States Air Force," The audio said.

"I'm Acting Captain Naruto M'Fau of the Wolverine. Peace and long life."

The crew of both ships celebrated, but for entirely different reasons.

This Time:

The Prometheus, Bridge

General Hammond is at a crossroads. Does he invite representatives from the ship that saved their hides to Stargate Command* or does he conduct negotiations on the newly battle-tested ship. After talking to it with the XO of the ship, eventually the choice is taken from him with the appearance of Asgard.

USS Wolverine, Bridge

The helmsman stopped celebrating when the noise from his console alerted him to unidentified spacecraft. "Captain, we have an unidentified spacecraft approaching from Venus. Orders," The helmsman asked Captain Naruto.

"Stand by, helm," Naruto ordered. He then turned his attention to the other ship in the area. "Friends of yours," Naruto asked calmly.

General Hammond, grieved over the fact that the Asgard are here to assist Earth, but answered none the same, "Yes. I think it would be best to go down to Stargate Command for negotiations."

"Stargate," Naruto asked, largely to himself. After making sure that he cut off communication, he asked the Science officer, "Stargate, anything on the databases on that?"

After getting a negative response, he opened the channel again, "General, if you would be so kind to brief my party when we get there, I would be more than honored to meet you at your command." Adding a second thought to the matter, "Can you be so kind to feed us the coordinates to Stargate Command?"

"Of course," General Hammond replied, "Give me about 30 minutes to brief the President and the Asgard."

While communication channels are being severed, Naruto sat down at his chair and opened a channel for a ship wide announcement. "Would all senior staff please report to the meeting room in 10 minutes. Again, senior staff to the meeting room in 10 minutes. That is all." Closing that channel, Naruto then ordered the helmsman to the comm and entered the meeting room. The senior staff had a long debate to condense in 10 minutes for the meeting with the Asgard and Stargate command.

When he entered the meeting room, The senior staff stood at attention. An at ease later the senior staff sat down in their respective chairs. Only that Naruto stared at an empty chair at the foot of the table. Disregarding the added chair, Naruto began the meeting of the senior staff by saying, "I know that we may have violated the Prime directive by aiding the Earth ship, but I want answers to where we are. Did we intercept any communications from Earth?"

"Yes, sir," Alison Banks responded, "we have intercepted news broadcasts from Earth. It is calculated that we are in the year 2004 of the old Earth calendar."

"But," Naruto trailed off, ordering her to continue.

A gulp later and she continued, "Nothing in our events match up with this Earth's history. No World War III, Khan didn't exist, and most certainly scientist Zefram Cochrane wasn't born."

Naruto connected some dots, "which most certainly implies that Earth didn't develop warp drives."

Then a clap erupted in the room, and a woman appeared. She looked young, about 38 years of age, but one look at her, and Naruto could see something that everyone else didn't…

... Power.

The woman began speaking, "So you are the great Naruto."

"Who are you," Naruto replied, "and why are you on my ship?"

"Is this any way to treat your family, Naruto?**"

"Family? My mother and Father are on Vulcan."

"Well yes, we didn't birth you, who do you think preserved the genes used to create you, Naruto Uzumaki? In my eyes, that makes us better than 99.9% of the primates that you hang around with, Naruto. As for who I am, your primitive tongues can't even comprehend my name, so you can simply call me Q."

"Q," Naruto mulled it over, "I presume that you are the one who sent us here?"

"You weren't sent, but summoned. You see, a powerful being resides in this place, a being that should know no introduction. You see, beings that don't know their place try and fail to ascend to a higher plane of existence. He believes that you, Naruto, have the missing piece that he needs to invade the Q continuum. Your job is to stop him, and then I will be giving you a choice. I hope that you make the right one, for my sake and all Q."

When the Q left the meeting room, time seemed to have resumed its proper flow. "Captain, are you listening," Alison resumed talking.

Naruto responded, "Sorry, but we need to get going. I have a feeling that our new friends can tell me more information. Lt. Shizuka, you maintain the comm. If our new friends decide to turn on us, your orders are to run to anywhere safe. Alison, you are with me as well as Mr. Shores. Time to meet our new friends for the first time."

Stargate Command: 30 minutes later

The General and Captain Samantha Carter were in the gate room waiting to oversee the arrival of Captain Naruto and his team. They were told to expect three people and to clear a space for their arrival. Suddenly, as if it seemed like magic, energy appeared in front of them and took the form of Naruto and his guests. "Live long and prosper," Naruto said in his traditional Vulcan greeting, "I am Captain Naruto of the USS Wolverine. To my left is Science Officer Alison Banks and to my right is my chief of security, Lt. Shores."

General Hammond was stunned. Here was someone barely out of their teens a Captain and of his own spaceship? He quickly resumed his posture and introduced himself, "I am General Hammond of Stargate Command. This is Captain Samantha Carter, she will be your guide while you are here. Let us retreat to the conference room while our Asgard friends get here."

As the fivesome retreated to the conference room, a speaker blared out, "Incoming Activation of the Stargate." The group turned around to see a massive stone circle begin to spew out water. When it sit still, it was Master Bratac of the Jaffa. Master Bratac noted the guests in the room and said, "My apologies to you and your guests, General, but I have come to see Teal'c. It regards Anubis"

Author Notes and Ramblings:

First off a bit of admin. I started this chapter around Christmas time last year, and I lacked any proper motivation for finishing this chapter. Then it sparked to me while I was reading a new chapter in Infinity Divide (the OP one), and the rest of it you can see the result of here. I figured that what the hell, since Anubis DID ascend once, why NOT try to make him invade the Q Continuum and have Naruto stop him? With that question in mind, I will be outlining the remainder of this story so that I can quickly get this out there and completed in a timely manner.

That said, I hope that you enjoyed Chapter 2 and promise that I won't take as long in getting the next chapters out.

Postscripts:

*Stargate Command is the central operations point for SG-1. It is in an actual military base in Cheyenne Mountain.
