Homura awoke sunk into an unusually soft mattress.

'How strange had the hospital bed always been this comfortable' she wondered. Opening her eyes, she saw she surrounded by a small army of stuffed animals. She immediately sat up and looked around scanning her surroundings. The room was Madokas'. She frankly thew away her sheet and soft toys and moved towards the window. She didn't even want to think of the consequences of being caught here this early on. In previous timelines she had been found stalking the girl and it just always just added more fuel for Sayaka and Mami delusional crusade against me. Being in her bed though would could bring that suspension to a new level.

'Would Madoka, ever trust me after this?' She worried. However, these peripheral thoughts vanished the moment she looked out the window. In the reflection she saw her adorable pink haired cinnamon roll staring back at her in an equally anxious tone. To confirm something waved her hands to see the girl in the reflection follow. She had become that girl. She steadied her breathing which she had unconsciously let quicken. She knew she had to think about her circumstance rationally.

'Figuring out how she got here can wait. Firstly, am I still a magical girl?' she asked herself. She immediately summoned her dark magical girl attire and shield. She was able to stop time, which she confirmed by viewing the motionless birds in the sky. She couldn't immediately see her soul gem but after a few minutes of looking around she found it Madoka's draw.

'Interesting. If this was just the consequence of some wish or universal law, I'm unaware of, I doubt it should account for such a detail.'
Nonetheless she pushed that thought aside.

'More importantly, if I occupy Madoka's body where is she now. Does she have another body? Dose she even still exist?'. The very thought sent her heart into a thumping spiral. She needed evidence to refute that possibility and fast. From the lower floor she heard Junko's voice

'Honey Breakfast is ready! Come on you don't want to be late on her first day back!'
Homura didn't feel comfortable making her worry about Madoka. She called back casually:

'Alright I'll just be a second!'

As she said this, she couldn't help blushing a little hearing her own voice. Usually being just being near Madoka made her a little internally anxious. It was like she alone could bring back a part of herself she kept thinking she long ridded herself of. Looking back at her reflection she saw her pinket make the cutest expression she had only seen in those few timelines where her relationship with Madoka went beyond mere friends or allies. Without thinking she softly spoke aloud

'Homura, I will never abandon you. Homura, I love you.'

Her face was now bright red. But she quickly brought herself back to reality thinking:

'Now is not the time for this. I need to pretend to go to school and then go straight to the hospital'.

She quickly put on Madoka's school cloths and did up her bright red hair tie. Before leaving the room she briefly stopped to attempt the best Madoka smile she could. After watching her all this this time she knew how positive and caring she could act around others. She now was suddenly confronted with the daunting realisation that if she wished to keep this up, she would have to act just like that twenty-four seven including, no, especially around Sayaka.

'How annoying' she complained.
