It had been a week since Erin came back to town, she was now 34 weeks pregnant. Jay had gone to New York and got everything she had for the baby. They hadn't spoken much since she came back, but he was still on her case of where she was going to live. He wanted to help her set the babies room up, wherever that may be.

He was at his desk, every chance he got he was trying to soak in as much information about labour, birth and babies. He wanted to be there for her, he didn't want to be useless.

His phone buzzed and he looked down, it was from Erin, "Hey, just letting you know that I have an ultrasound tomorrow at 2, your more then welcome to join if you like."

He took a breath before he stood up, he walked to Voights office and gave it a quick knock before stepping inside, "Hey sarge, I have a favour."

"Sure, what's up?" Hank said, gazing up from his work.

"Erin has an ultrasound tomorrow, do you think it would be possible if I went with her? I really don't want to miss out on it."

"Yeah no worries at all, we will work around it."

"Thanks Sarge." Jay nodded as he returned to his desk, sending a quick text to Erin, "I will be there, also I really want to talk to you."

She replied quickly, "Sure, we can get lunch after."

"No worries, see you then." Jay replied, then put his phone away, they were so casual with each other, not that they ever had lovey dovey messages but he just never thought he had to be so professional with her.

Finally it was time to head home, or to Molly's. "Hey man, you coming for a beer? I think we could all use one right about now," Antonio asked Jay who had his head deep in a pregnancy book, "Baby book huh?"

Jay shut the book and chucked it in his desk drawer, "Trying to prepare myself, only 6 weeks until the baby comes, I just wish I knew sooner so then maybe I wouldn't be so scared."

"Trust me Jay, that won't go away no matter how many books you read. Just be there, you will learn from your mistakes."

"Thanks Tony, now lets get out of here." Jay said motioning him out as they followed the rest of them.

Jay sat at a table with Hailey and Will everyone else had left. All Jay wanted to do was go be with Erin, he wanted it to be normal for him to do that but it was far from it.

"Hey earth to Jay." Will said waving his hand infront of Jays face, trying to gain his attention.

"Sorry," Jay chuckled, "I'm all over the place these days."

"So has Erin decided if she's going to move in with you yet?" Hailey questioned.

"Nope, but she's going to an ultrasound tomorrow and then we are having lunch after. I will bring it up with her then." Jay replied.

"Wow lunch, sure that's a good idea?" Will said, getting a light shove from Hailey.

"We have to get along Will and we will be seeing a lot more of each other soon, she is having my kid." Jay said annoyed at his brother, he knew he was worried for him and concerned how all this was going to work but he needed support.

"Fine, sorry. Look I am here for you it's just a lot to wrap my head around." Will shrugged.

"How do you think I feel?" Jay snapped back.

Will raised his hands in defence, quickly Hailey stepped in, "Okay guys, let's take it down a notch. Will I know you care about your brother and your maybe a little pissed at Erin for what she did but keep it to yourself, Jays already got a lot to worry about."

"Thanks Hailey but you don't have to stand up for me." Jay smiled.

"I'm your partner, it's what I have to do even if it is when it involves your family." They all laughed, "Who knew this is what we'd been talking about."

"Yeah, a year ago if you told me I'd be sitting at Molly's talking about raising kids I would laugh in your face." Jay chuckled.

"So you never wanted kids then?" Hailey said curiously.

"Not that I never wanted them but I just didn't think this early." He shrugged.

"Jay you are 33, when did you expect to have them? 40?" Will chuckled.

"I don't know, I guess I kind of gave up on the whole marriage and kid thing after Erin."

"And look where we are now." Will smirked.

"Well maybe it's a good thing then, I mean if you said you were giving up, now you won't get to miss out on it, your going to be a great dad Jay." Hailey smiles towards Jay.

"Thanks Hailey, I hope so."
