AN: Here we go, my friends. We are approaching the finish line. Until then, please continue to enjoy the show. All mistakes are mine, sadly. Warning: this chapter's finale contains Clexa smut. You have been warned.

Lexa and Anya stayed on the phone for an hour as they went back and forth- exchanging teasing comments and asking questions about their recent developments.

It wasn't until after Lexa felt her stomach rumble that she insisted they catch up some more later.

By then, the more pertinent information had been gathered, anyway.

Anya would be moving back in three weeks, which would allow her enough time to both submit her resignation and pack her belongings while Raven added a few necessities to the apartment she would soon share with her girlfriend.

The older Silva had been fully caught up on the contract that Laura and Bill had written up and offered Lexa. Numbers and figures had been withheld, for the time being, but writing schedules, filming locations, and upcoming casting decisions had been discussed.

"You better cast some hot chick to play me. You owe me a character. Remember that little sis." Anya had interjected at the end of that conversation, which made Lexa snort uncharacteristically in response.

When Anya went back to her road trip itinerary, the younger Silva had offered to fly up to Seattle so she could help with the drive down, but Anya declined as Raven had already booked her flight to take on that task herself.

It was oddly refreshing to hear her sister sound so excited about being in a relationship. Not to mention, it made Lexa incredibly happy that her friend was going to take care of Anya like she knew her sister would take care of Raven.

Nobody had taken care of her sister in a long time. The woman had taken on that role for herself and her younger sister since before she had moved out of their parents' home. It reminded Lexa how much she really appreciated all her sister had done for her.

"Hey, An."

"Yes?"

"I love you." Lexa mouthed into the phone before they disconnected the call.

Five Weeks Later

"I can't believe you have matching pajamas." Clarke snickered as she stepped through Raven's door with a bottle of wine and some caramel popcorn. Her comment earned her a glare from the older Silva and a smack on the arm from Raven.

Taking the bottle from the blonde, Raven ushered her in. "I can't believe you came to our pajama housewarming party without Lexa and dressed in jeans and a t-shirt." She looked back as she made her way to the kitchen. "I specifically told you to bring Lexa and suggested matching sexy silk PJs."

Clarke laughed as she walked over to the empty loveseat across from where the couple was going to sit. She eyed Anya, silently asking her how she felt about seeing her little sister in sexy PJs. She got an eyeroll in response. "Yeah, about that." She shook her head. "I wasn't going to flaunt my goodies for you, thanks. And Lexa apologizes for not being able to join us, but she's stuck in the office." Anya looked sympathetically at the blonde. "Another read and rewrite with Laura." She shrugged. "Next time."

Lexa had been spending increasingly more time at the office with her partners, and Clarke couldn't deny that she missed her terribly. Especially during friend gatherings. More so when she went to sleep without her and woke up to an empty bed the next morning.

Not to mention that Clarke had undertaken the purchasing of the building, most recently dubbed 'The Playhouse' by Octavia, and Lexa had missed most of the initial process already. She knew she didn't expect her girlfriend to be there every step of the way given her own career demands, but a deep part of her really wished the brunette could be there beside her through it all.

Admittingly, walking through the building during her viewing appointment had been a little less enjoyable without her other half there, but Clarke had forced those thoughts away quickly. As much as she could anyway.

Almost perceptively, Raven entered the living room with wine glasses filled and an excited smile plastered on her face. "How goes it with The Playhouse?" She sat beside Anya and cuddled up close. Clarke smiled at the pair.

"The offer has been accepted, but it's taking a lot longer than I originally thought." Clarke sipped her wine. "It's been over a month and the process is stalled on one of many contingencies. Selling my house was nothing compared to this."

"Well, it's a commercial building, and there's probably a different slew of laws and regulations that pertain to that type of complex." Anya added. "I'm sure as soon as the realtors square away the remaining inspections and appraisals the building will be all yours."

Raven nodded in agreement. "I'm so excited for you, Clarke. I can't wait to help with the designing." She winked.

The blonde laughed. "Um, I'll have my people call your people, Rae." She enjoyed a small victory when she saw Anya's usually stoic demeanor brighten at the jab. "Thanks. I can't wait to get this going. I have so many ideas. I just hope I can make them all come together in the end."

"You're going to do great, Clarke." Anya offered in support which made Clarke miss Lexa even more. Sometimes the sisters shared similar expressions and tones, it was kind of freaky.

Clarke responded with a grateful nod before changing the subject.

Eventually they made it through their "housewarming party" only mildly intoxicated, but full of all the popcorn they had indulged in during a movie. Or two.

It was nice that the blonde had a few hours of peace and laughter, but Lexa's absence hung around the entire evening.

Lexa was torn.

She figured it was a good problem to have, but the internal battle she faced every few hours was a problem, nonetheless.

Nothing she had done with her writing so far had been as satisfying, and she was grateful to be surrounded by so many intelligent and creative minds, but she really did miss Clarke's silent inspiration whenever she was around.

Wasn't she her muse after all?

They rarely had waking moments to talk or even coexist for a few weeks now, and it was beginning to wear the brunette down. She hated going home so late that every night she jumped into bed Clarke was already in a deep sleep, and waking up before the blonde was not much fun either.

The constant self-assuring mantras were also beginning to lose their intended effect, and Lexa was slowly caving.

"OK." Laura smiled. "I think we have our official second draft." She clapped her hands together in victory and gazed at her team. "Great job guys. I'll take the first readthrough."

Everyone in the room nodded along with accomplished smiles, including Lexa. "I'll take second." The brunette offered. "I have a good feeling about this." She added to motivate the group- they didn't have to know she was just a little worn out on the inside.

When they adjourned for the night, Laura picked up her pace down the hallway with a click clack of heels. "Great edits on the first draft, Lexa. You have a great sense for this- I'm more convinced that we have a hit on our hands." She smiled wide.

Lexa smiled back as she slowed her pace to match the woman's. "Thank you. I am too."

"Well, I'll have this ready for you in a week or so. Until then." She waved before entering her vehicle.

A few cars littered the studio parking lot at such late hour, and those that remained were likely those that belonged to the actors and crew members that ran around the lot as they worked on.

She was mentally exhausted and really in need of home, but a fleeting thought had Lexa walking away from her car and searching for hot sets. Her adrenaline spiked a few levels when she saw bright lightings and heard generators working overtime.

Bustling crew members ignored her as she maneuvered herself quietly and inconspicuously through them. She was in no danger of being tossed out, her badge was clearly visible, but she figured the less attention she drew, the better.

Her eyes scanned the inside of a sound stage where a set was created to model a small seashore town on the east coast. Fake snow and wind moved in the space as dead artificial leaves tumbled down a makeshift town road.

She smiled as she checked the weather widget on her smartphone.

A balmy seventy-three in Southern California.

Snow flurries in small town Maine.

Movie magic.

It was everything Lexa hoped and wished to be a part of. A fresh wave of excitement washed over her and reenergized her weary body.

On the next 'action' being yelled out, she sighed and walked out with a smile.

When she got home, her heart skipped a few beats at what she was greeted with.

On the dining table was a note, her favorite way to communicate when they couldn't do so in person, and a takeout box. 'New place around the corner. Vegan Chinese?! Sounds like a sin, but it tastes amazing. Enjoy, babe. Love you. -C'

She loved this girl.

Moments like this reminded her it was all going to be worth it in the end.

The pattern in their lives remained as such for another couple of weeks, and they were both so close to the edge that they nearly begged for a break from their respective responsibilities.

Alas, the world waited for no one, and success rarely came to those who slept on opportunities. So, they sucked it up for a while longer. Rejoicing in the fact that their relationship was stable and healthy enough to survive on silly, yet cute love notes and stolen sleepy kisses.

'I'll be back in a couple of days. Let's get away for a while after that. Please. I love you, Virginia. -L'

Clarke sighed dejectedly but smiled at the promise of some much-needed R&R with her girl.

She would have to occupy her time alone by working, and since the building was nearing the end of the process, Clarke was forced to go on standby mode for that.

It was as good as hers, and Clarke could think of nothing better to do than to finally start moving forward with her plans.

What a cute restaurant, was the first thought that popped into her head.

Bistro tables and chairs sat under trees that fluttered in the warm breeze and provided enough cover from the warmer Los Angeles sun. If the food was as tasty as the décor, this could become her new breakfast joint. Lexa would get a kick out of it too, Clarke thought to herself as she spotted her friend.

"I'm so glad you had some time for me, Frankie." Clarke smiled as the older woman crushed her in a warm hug.

Her own smile widened as she pulled back and glared playfully at the blonde. "Are you kidding me? I thought you had forgotten all about me." She teased. "I was happy you called." She pointed excitedly at the empty chair Clarke was to occupy. It warmed the blonde's heart- she missed Frankie more than she thought.

"So, to what do I owe this pleasant invite?" Frankie smiled over a sip of her coffee mug.

"I missed your smile and sage advice." Clarke smiled before ordering her own serving of caffeine.

Frankie feigned hurt. "What advice can I offer you? You've learned everything I could impart to you, my dear."

"Please." Clarke laughed softly. "I still find myself fighting the urge to re-enroll in your classes, Frankie. I could learn so much more." She paused. "But you're right. This is a different type of meeting."

"Do tell." Frankie clapped her hands excitedly and sat back comfortably in her seat.

When Clarke finished updating and sharing her future endeavors, Frankie stared at her with a proud smile.

"You've been a busy body, then." She shrugged nonchalantly before reaching across and over their breakfast to squeeze her hands reassuringly. "You are going to do big things, Clarke Griffin." She smiled again.

The woman dropped her hands and Clarke went back to cutting into her starchy meal. Her favorite. "So, are you in?" She looked cautiously at the grey-haired woman.

The thought of being rejected crossed her mind as Frankie pondered her response silently across from her, but she took another bite to calm her nerves.

"Although I don't think you could afford me..." She joked, "I would be more than happy partner up with you on this quest." She replied.

A huge smile graced Clarke's face. "Frankie! I'm so excited to get this going! You won't regret this. I promise you; The Ark is going to benefit as much as I will from this partnership."

Frankie smiled. "I'm sure it will, dear. But, honey, what are you going to call this gallery of yours?"

Stumped.

Clarke was floored.

Amid the chaos and hurdles of purchasing the building, she never once gave the name any thought. She wasn't sure how that could be, but she knew it was true as she sat there with nothing to say in response.

"Don't force it." Frankie chuckled before imparting her wisdom on the blonde. "It will come to you, sweetie."

Add this to her ever-growing list of tasks before launching. Clarke smiled, albeit a bit embarrassed, and nodded in return.

"Sometimes people are not meant to stay in your life forever." Steph voiced the words solemnly to Lexa. She understood, even accepted why the girl was choosing to leave her...San Diego, to go back to her reality. It still hurt like a bitch, but she knew better than anybody that her words were true, and she meant them whole-heartedly.

Her hands caressed Lexa's delicate skin and pronounced jawline with a tender touch.

"But some day, you will meet a person who will turn your world upside down, make you feel things you never believed you deserved to feel, and you will love them with everything you are. It will be unexpected, you will question it and doubt it, but trust that it's real. Everything will make sense." She smiled a watery smile. "Your life will make sense, and you will feel what you aren't feeling now- a sense of belonging." Steph paused once more, this time taking the opportunity to kiss the brunette's own teary cheeks. "I wish that for you, Lexa."

She was coaxed from her sleep by the softest gliding of fingertips over the lines of her tattoo.

Her eyes opened slowly before her lips turned up in a small smile. An involuntary moan of approval escaped her lips, and Clarke sighed triumphantly against the back of her neck with her own smile.

"Good morning." Lexa mumbled as she continued to allow the blonde's exploration.

Clarke's nose buried deeper in the brown tresses that she was so in love with. "It is, but maybe we can make it better." She offered in a low and suggestive tone.

Lexa grinned, her sleep completely dissipating into thin air as she turned to lay flat on her back. Her nose gently skimmed the blonde's, and her hands instantly sought out her face to bring her pink lips down to hers.

It was almost silent, but they shared a mutual sigh of happiness before smiling against each other. They weren't sure how long it had been since the last time they woke up to each other in bed, but they relished it more than ever.

They kissed softly, but with meaning, and before they could progress any further, Lexa pulled back enough to look up at Clarke.

The girl clutched at her girlfriend refusing to give her an inch, groaning in disappointment when they lost the physical connection. "What?" She asked with knitted brows after seeing Lexa's pensive stare.

Lexa shook her head with a smile, knowing that she didn't have to say what she was thinking because she was about to show her. "Nothing." Clarke smiled back and could have whispered some playful comment, but her words were silenced by the pair of determined lips that melted against hers.

Much to Clarke's surprise, Lexa didn't flip them over, instead she pulled the blonde over her and took charge by holding her face to hers in a gentle yet assertive manner.

"I've missed you." Clarke spoke against Lexa's mouth.

No more words were heard after the brunette smiled in response and made quick gentle work of divesting the girl above her.

Fingers roamed and aimed to touch every inch of skin to draw out moans of satisfaction.

An uncharacteristic yelp escaped Lexa when Clarke wrapped her leg around her hip and used it to roll them over. She wanted to see the brunette hover over her for a minute or two, and she was rewarded with the best silhouette of wavy hair and curves as the morning sun streamed in from behind.

She was mesmerized by the image, and she did her best to take it in and commit her to memory. Though that proved to be a difficult task as she felt the girl suddenly writhe over her. All she could do was swallow her own squeal as she buried her fingers in Lexa's skin instead.

Hips moved this way and that way, and they tried their best to stay in sync, but the pent-up energy they both harbored had them moving frantically and desperately against each other. To be clear, neither one would complain, but there was a certain ardent need that was usually less urgent when they got to enjoy each other on a more frequent basis, and they surrendered entirely to that longing. However sloppy it might seem; they were both aroused and couldn't get enough of each other.

It didn't take long for them to reach their climax, but even then, neither one was willing to say that was enough. So, it was not unwelcomed, and it was audibly expressed with an encouraging groan, when Lexa began a needy journey of kisses down Clarke's sweaty body.

With heightened senses, Clarke felt every lick that led Lexa to her destination. It was painful in the most delicious way possible, and the blonde tried her best to hold herself together for a while longer.

A warm tongue flattened almost immediately over a bundle of nerves, and Clarke nearly bucked off the mattress in response. She suppressed a giggle and bit her fist as her other hand urged the brunette on with assertive fingers in tangled locks of hair.

"Oh god." She gasped when that same tongue pushed against her clit on more time before it moved down and swirled around some. "Babe." She breathed in approval.

Lexa worked expertly on her target before returning to the bundle, using her tongue to cover it fully while her fingers slid easily and rapidly in and out of the blonde.

She smiled against her when Clarke tried to extricate herself and hold Lexa in place at the same time. The girl didn't know what to do with herself it seemed, and the brunette was loving every second of it.

When she came, Clarke dug her heels into the mattress and her fingers pulled at the sheets for support, maybe, she wasn't sure. Her eyes hurt from being shut so tight against the waves of pleasure that set her nerve endings on fire. She breathed heavily and before she knew it, her body went limp with a sigh.

"Oh my god." Her chest moved up and down as her lungs worked over-time. "You're so good at that, babe." A soft chuckle escaped her then, and Lexa smiled widely up at the girl who had no clue was being studied from such a low angle.

"Thank you." The brunette responded haughtily before crawling up her girl's damp and slippery body. It was too slick to be romantic in any way shape or form, but it was raw and animalistic, the feelings it incited inside her. It was delectable. "You're really good at responding." She grinned before kissing her forehead and plopping down beside her.

There was little time for any further respite before Clarke smiled her own arrogant grin and straddled her girlfriend. "Let's see how well you respond." She challenged and leaned in to kiss her before rolling them over.

A stunned Lexa looked down at her favorite pair of blues in question, but nothing was vocalized as Clarke began to slide out from underneath her and her body was cajoled to kneel above her. "Clarke." Her tone carried some warning and yet all worry vanished when she found herself gripping the headboard at Clarke's first assault.

Her hips bucked when a soft hum escaped the blonde's mouth and vibrated against her oversensitive skin. "Geesh, Clarke." Her head fell back, and her eyes closed reflexively as her mind told her to stop thinking and partake in every sensation Clarke was evoking with her tongue.

She moaned out loud as Clarke's hands kneaded her taut cheeks to urge her closer to her mouth. It was an insane amount of stimulation and Lexa didn't trust her knees to keep her from suffocating the blonde that breathed a warm puff of air against her. "You're not going to hurt me, Lexa. Relax, babe". She asked softly before allowing her tongue to work Lexa up, and this time she could feel her body ease into a trusting rhythm.

It really couldn't get better than this, Clarke thought. She loved this girl and man had she just found her favorite way to show her how much? She knew she had. Her thoughts drove her to work harder, and she allowed her lungs a quick breath of fresh air, taking in a scent that was unlike anything else, and would forever memorize. A smile made Lexa squirm above her, and she used that as a new starting point for her mission. With a firm hand at the girl's lower back and one moving away and up to cover a breast, she drove her tongue as deep as she could. She was rewarded with a groan and circling of hips.

When Lexa moved forward against the headboard in response to the sudden intrusion, Clarke's hand fell away from her chest, and she used it wisely as she moved her fingers towards Lexa's center.

Her tongue worked in tandem with her fingers, and it didn't take long for the girl she was pleasing to yell as her orgasm spread from her middle out towards the very ends of her fingertips and toes.

As Lexa fell to the side and away from her mouth Clarke laughed. "Maybe it was too much to hope we could stay in that position forever?" She teased with a soft slap at the spent girl's hip bone. "I think we're both really good at this." Clarke deduced as she moved onto her side to face Lexa. "But I think we knew that." She smiled.

The brunette laughed with her eyes closed and suddenly opened them. "It doesn't hurt to remind and be reminded." Her expression sobered as she sighed, her fingers moving to tuck a blonde strand behind a flushed ear. "I'm sorry we haven't had the chance to do so lately."

Clarke sighed in understanding and shook her head, dismissing the girl's apology immediately. "We both know it's going to be hard for a while, but as long as we always remember to come back to this, and I don't just mean the sex, we're going to be fine." Her eyes searched for a convinced understanding, and when Lexa nodded, she moved in to kiss her languidly. "I love you."

"God, I love you." Lexa responded before pulling Clarke fully against her.

They lay fully wrapped in each other, letting sleep claim them as the morning sun progressed into early afternoon.

A total of three nights and four days at a lakeside cabin was what the couple needed to renew their energy, after many sessions of expending it to remind each other of one of their favorite activities, so they could push the pedal to the metal when they returned to their responsibilities.

They knew the rewards that would be reaped after all the mornings they were sure to wake up alone to, soon would be plentiful. They only needed to power through and make it to the next peaceful moment that they would suspend in time to love each other.

The drive back was filled with laughter and their usual playful banter- they made sure not to waste a second of their time together.

And when their conversation about Anya and Raven's next PJ party invite was interrupted by a ringing phone, Lexa laughed. Because eventually all good things came to a figurative and literal end. "Back to work we go." She deadpanned as she saw Laura was calling her and quickly had her smartphone send a message that she would call her back once they stopped to refuel.

Clarke smiled when her own phone pinged. "The realtor." She grinned and showed Lexa the screen. "What are the odds that we both get pulled away at the same time?"

"I'd say pretty high. It's just our luck." Lexa teased as the girl took the call on speaker.

"Hi Clarke." Her realtor's voice echoed in the car. "So, congrats. The place is yours."

The blonde smiled wide as she thanked the woman and hung up. She looked to brunette at once. Lexa beamed back at her. "We own a building, Lexa!" Her excitement infected the driver and they both erupted in a victorious yell.

After they sat in a comfortable and elated silence for a while, Lexa grinned. "Not to rain on our parade, but technically the bank owns your building for the next half of your life."

With a heavy sigh and a dramatic rolling of eyes Clarke smacked Lexa's arm. "What a buzzkill, D.C."

"Yours." Lexa flashed her a lopsided grin as she kept her eyes on the road.

"Mine." Clarke nodded before moving forward to kiss her cheek.
