Erin had moved a few things in over the last couple days, although she wasn't sleeping in Jays apartment yet it, it felt like home. She was glad she decided to do this, having him around wouldn't be so bad, especially for the little one growing inside her.

She hadn't realised the time when she heard the door unlock, she was sitting on the floor folding clothes into the dresser that was in her and the babies room when Jay walked in.

"Hey, didn't realise you'd still be here." Jay smiled as he entered, he looked exhausted.

"Sorry, I got carried away," she said holding up a little onesie before folding it and putting it away, "How was your day?"

Jay was exhausted but he couldn't help but smile at the scene he was witnessing, "Long, I feel like I haven't slept in a week."

"Let me make you something, I bought some stuff earlier." Erin said as she tried to get up, but it wasn't as easy as it use to be, Jay watched her struggle a little before he offered out his hands, helping her up. Once she was up she thanked him and walked to the kitchen, him following behind her.

Erin quickly put together a sandwich for him, sliding it over she chuckled as he inhaled it, "Sorry it's not much."

"Erin it's fine, thankyou."

"I will have to learn to cook a little better if I'm going to live here and also another thing I know you said you didn't want me too but I need to give you something for rent." Erin offered once but he said no, when he asked her to move in he didn't expect anything.

"Erin, I already explained this, your paying rent on an apartment in New York, I'm doing this for the baby so please just don't worry about it." Jay said firmly, he just wanted her to accept it without a fight.

"Fine then I will buy the groceries and beer, that's the least I can do." She said with a smile.

"But you can't even drink beer?" Jay chuckled.

"Yeah but doesn't mean I can't buy it for you, I mean after those long days I know it's nice to come home and crack one open."

"Your not wrong." Jay smiled back at her.

"Anyway it's late I should probably get going." Erin said walking around to grab her things.

"No, stay here. The weathers not great and I don't want Voight yelling at me because I let you drive in it at all hours of the night." Jay said.

"Jay I cant, I don't even have a bed here yet." Erin shook her head.

"I will take the couch, you can take my bed."

"Jay no, I'm not stealing your bed, you need a good nights rest."

Jay sighed, "Please?"

Erin paused for the moment and then nodded, "Okay but tomorrow we go get a bed so I can start sleeping here."

"Deal, look just give me a sec to go have a shower and change then it's all yours." Erin nodded as she watched him walk away, this felt good, it was as if their breakup never happened, she really wished it never happened, things would be a lot easier.

Erin sat on the couch flicking through brochures while Jay showered, not realising how tired she was she started dozing off.

Once Jay finished he wrapped a towel around his waist and nearly walked out, then he remembered one of their rules, don't walk around half naked. He quickly chucked some clothes on then walked out to go tell Erin the room was hers, but then he saw her sound asleep on the couch. He knew he couldn't leave her like that so he picked her up, once he did he knew he shouldn't have, she nestled her head into his neck making him get goosebumps.

He walked to the room and gentle placed her underneath the covers, but when he went to let go and pull away she had a hold on him. Then it bought back memories, she always use to do this when she'd be tidied on nights after a big bust or after several long days trying to solve a case, it meant all she wanted was for him to cuddle up beside her. But he knew it was a bad idea, then his heart melted even more when she start mumbling, she must have been just as exhausted as him.

So even though his mind was telling him not too his heart was pulling him closer. Usually when he snuggled up to her after a long day he'd strip down to his boxes so she could feel his warmth but he knew he couldn't do that so he got in beside her how he was. He wasn't going to cuddle her, but he could tell when she rolled over and placed her hand on his chest that she knew he was there and she felt safe.

He barely slept that night even though he was exhausted, but between Erins continuing movements he couldn't fall asleep. He got up after being in bed for about 4 hours, he thought it was time he hit the couch, maybe then he could get some shut eye. Once he was on the couch it wasn't long until he was out.

Erin woke up when the light seeped in, of course, Jays always loved being able to wake up gradually by the sunlight, she hated it. But for today it was fine, she felt good after having one of the best sleeps she'd had in a while. Although she wasn't sure if she dreamt it or if it happened, did Jay sleep with her sometime during the night?

She walked out into the living room, Jay was just waking up himself, "Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you."

"Nah it's all good, needed to get up anyway." Jay smiled as he rubbed his face trying to wake himself up more. He looked down at his watch, wow a whole 2 hours sleep, no wonder he was struggling.

"Jay I have to ask you something." Erin said sitting down beside him.

"Sure what's up?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Did you sleep in bed with me last night? Just for a little bit or was I completely stupid and I dreamt it." Erin laughed embarrassed.

"Uh, yeah. But only because you fell asleep out here and I carried you to the bed, when I got you there you did not want to let go, I wasn't going to fight it with a pregnant lady." Jay smirked.

"Sorry I guess?" She said awkwardly.

"No I'm sorry, it was stupid. We aren't in that position and we don't want to be, it's my bad and it won't happen again." Jay assured her.

"Jay it wasn't a horrible thing, it felt nice, you don't have to apologise, I mean I did steal your bed."

"Yeah I guess it was kinda nice, weird though you move a lot when your pregnant, I swear you didn't stay in the same position for more then 3 minutes." Jay laughed, Erin joking him.

"Shutup, this is your kid in here Halstead, this baby never wants to stop moving." Jay smiled, she called him Halstead, things were slowly started to become more normal, but was that a bad thing? Were they running into this too quickly? Maybe, but it just felt so right.
