Hey everybody! Thankyou heaps for your reviews, you are all so kind! Now I have another completed story on Wattpad so I was wondering if anyone would be interested in me bringing it over onto this platform for people to read? May need some editing in the beginning chapters as it was my first ever story but please let me know :)
Today was the day Jay was finally cleared to go back to work at full duty and he was so thankful. He couldn't deal with desk duty for another day.
Jay and Erin were starting to feel like a family again. The last two weeks they grow closer with each other, Erin was glad she had the last two weeks with Jay to get that trust back, bit by bit. He was still recovering but it was good to have him home so they could do family outings together and form that bond again. Erin loved how good of a father he was, no matter what type of day Lily would have she would always light up when she was in Jays arms.
Jay hadn't been home for three days since he went back to work full duty, they were stuck on a case that involved a kidnapping, which meant no one went home until it was solved. Erin was sure that Lily could tell, she was restless and super clingy. After not seeing Jay for three days and having a super clingy baby was exhausting and felt like she hadn't gotten anything done.
Once the case was closed Jay headed home, he wasn't even sure if he'd make it to the front door without passing out he was so exhausted. Once he opened the door he chucked his keys in the bowl that sat on the entry table, slid his shoes off and chucked his bag down and hung his jacket up. He slowly started making his way inside when he noticed Erin laying on the lounge passed out with Lily on her chest.
He slowly crept over to them, picking lily up into his arms. She started moving around a little and woke up but when she knew she was in Jays arms she quickly snuggled into his chest and grabbed ahold of his shirt tightly. Jay walked to the nursery, he slowly placed Lily down into her crib and then walked out. He went to wake Erin up but as soon as he got to her Lily started crying. Louder then he had ever heard her before.
Erins eyes opened and she saw Jay standing there and noticed quickly that Lily was no longer on her chest, "No, no, no."
Jay looked at her confused as she quickly got up and hurried into Lily's room. He followed, "Erin everything good?"
Erin shook her head as she bent over to pick Lily up, "Hey sweet girl, it's okay, mummy's got you shhhh," Erin started rocking side to side, "I have slept for about six hours over the last three days, I think she can sense that your not here because she is distraught."
Jay moved around Erin so he could look at Lily, he noticed she was chewing on Erins shirt, "Is she teething?"
Erin nodded, "I think so. There are teething rings in the fridge can you grab one?"
Jay nodded and left the room, quickly he came back and handed lily one of the cool teething rings. She started sucking on it and the tears started going away.
"Here do you want me to take her?" Jay asked with his hands stretched out.
"No you go have a shower, you have had a rough couple days."
"Go lay in bed I won't be long, maybe she will be okay if she sleeps with both of us tonight?" Jay said kissing Erins cheek.
"Jay you know what the books say, if they are sleeping fine on their own then we shouldn't introduce co-sleeping."
Jay turned to face Erin, "Er I think we all need a little bit of sleep, one night won't hurt."
...
The next morning after they all had a solid sleep, Erin woke up feeling refreshed. She had only gotten up once to feed Lily and was thankful that she slept the rest of the night. Erin rolled over when she noticed Lily was no longer next to her, Jay had picked up up when he woke up and she was sitting on his stomach resting on his bent legs, he was poking at her stomach making her giggle.
"Morning you too." Erin said smiling as she sat up and kissed them both.
"Sleep well?" Jay asked.
"I missed you, it's good to have you home." Erin smiled as she slid down and rested her head on his shoulder.
"I missed you too," Jay said then lily fell forward and rested on his chest, "Oh and I missed you too princess."
"Just because she's teething and is more unsettled then usual doesn't mean she will be sleeping with us every night, not going to happen." Erin said with a stern look.
"I know Erin." Jay chuckled at how serious she was.
"I'm serious! When it comes to her you are a pushover, she's going to get anything she wants in life."
"We'll look at her face, you can't say no to that face." Jay said in a baby voice as he poked at Lily's cheeks.
"Even when she is fifteen and asks to go on her very first date?" Erin said.
"Oh that will definitely be a no." Jay said bluntly, he didn't even want to think about that.
"That's what I thought."
